On the expensive side, but generally quiet apartments with nice location. Studio apartments are decently roomy. The WiFi is unusable though- not a secure network, horrible download speeds, and connectivity problems. Be ready to have your own internet installed.
Apparently, Bixby Lane was used as a vantage point for the Torrances home resettlement in Colorado (The Shining). I assume that a parking lot behind it was used to allow the shot to capture the mountain range behind it. I imagine its more modernized and built up, recently, and that imagery would be more difficult to capture.
The place is really nice. I’ve spent a year there from June 2018 - Aug 2019. I rented a studio apartment, it has a nice kitchen and enough room for 2 people to live. These apartments are quieter than any other apartment I’ve seen. The residents are really decent as well. The common room has a kitchen and comfortable couches and a pool. The gym is average.Pros:-Quiet-Spacious-Close to campus (
My kids have lived here while attending CU for the last 2 years. The manager Gayle has been helpful and my kids like living here. It is a safe and convenient apartment and I highly recommend Kensington Apartments.
Definitely one of my favorite places that I have lived. My wife and I lived here for two years from 2012 to 2014. We were worried about noise since it is a college neighborhood. No issues in the building with noise but outside can get quite noisy with groups of college kids coming home at various times of night. The first floor always smelled very strongly of marijuana, but the floors seemed to get cleaner and quieter as you went up. Maybe they try to keep the college kids on the first floor. Great access to Sprouts and many food options right across Baseline. The creek in the back and the landscaping though out is very nice and well kept. Parking can get a little tight sometimes, but we always had one reserved spot in the garage. Pool was a little on the cold side but always clean and well maintained. Steam room was a great feature. Management and maintenance was very helpful and responsive for any concerns. Gale, the property manager, can come off a little rough but she does a great job (I would too if I had to deal with college kids all the time). Overall I would recommend for anyone wanting to live in the area that does not mind the rare college related sound or smell.
I searched for a decent-priced apartment in Boulder (and close-by cities like Broomfield, Lafayette, and Louisville) a year ago. Before that, I was living in a rather old apartment with a lousy management system. Kensington apartments though has one of the best management systems you can find around Boulder. The manager/leasing agent is VERY nice and friendly. The fixing guy is always on premises and will attend to your problem the same day you let the office know of the problem. Theres no online system for paying rent, so you need to write a check, but the good point is that they dont charge for 1-2 days late checks (although they dont like it). Ive been to places where they actually charge you if you forget to pay the rent on 1st!Ive lived both in a studio and a 1BR here. The 1BR is totally worth the price, although you cant find a studio in Boulder with such a price being so clean and well-managed and so close to CU campus. But the 1BR were in, we just love it! The view from the balcony is perfect! The kitchen is large enough for the two of us as food-loving chefs. The bathroom has two doors, one opens inn the bedroom and one by the entrance, which makes it very convenient. Theres central heating and were on the second floor. We never had to turn on the heating unit in the winter since we were between two warmed units probably, but if youre not in the second floor, the heating is free!Theres a coin-op laundry room in each floor, so if the ones on your floor are occupied, you always have the option to go to another floor. Theres also a garbage shooting in each laundry room, which makes things easy. Although you can always use the elevators to get to the garage where the garbage cans are. For recyclable garbage, you need to go to the garage. Yes! Theyre environment friendly! Ive used the gym here. Im a CU student and when you have the CU Rec Center, such gyms dont satisfy you. But if youre in an urgent need to go to the gym, its a nice feature to have. We havent yet used the pool or the sauna (will do soon), but Ive heard that they are nice. The clubhouse is a really good feature if you want to host a party. Its spacious with all the facilities you might need. But its a no-alcohol place.Overall, if you have enough money to afford living here, like if youre sharing the rent or youre a well-off person, then I definitely recommend it.
Really great location, clean, well maintained, and has a beautiful garden. Only thing I didnt like was that the units are not updated at all. Would keep living here if I wanted to stay in Boulder.
I love Kensington Apartments and the kind employees there. I have lived here for 4 years as a college student and have not found any issue.Wifi: It is FREE. Theres two wifis and one is faster than the other and there is a gaming wifi so everyone complaining about wifi do not realize that you get what youre paying for...Noise: Very Little! Ive lived at another apartment building in the neighborhood and left because of the thin walls, but Kensington was completely different! Ive had no complaints and if you do, there is a 24/7 security number provided in your lease and they will handle the problem for you and its all anonymous!Beautiful: The garden is amazing and the building is well kept.Price: Boulder is an expensive city PERIOD. No matter where you look, the price is a high so if you cannot live within Boulders prices then I recommend looking into Superior/Louisville because theyre a short 10 minute drive away and I know several friends that have opted for that option.
Its a nice place to live and for sharing a bedroom its not that bad for the location. However, you most definitely need to get your own wifi though if you dont want to have problems with the internet.
Very Nice clean apartments close to campus! Lived here for 2 years now!
The rent is getting more expensive, and there provide the worst Wi -Fi I ever used. The Wi-Fi is always interrupts, we have to paid for it. Living there is very inconvenient.
I lived at Kensington Apartments in a studio apartment and enjoyed my stay. Even in a studio the kitchen has lots of counter space which my new place is lacking a little. I used the free internet for awhile but upgraded to Comcast internet because I played games online but the free internet worked fine for browsing and even watching YouTube. By far my favorite part of living at Kensington was using the pool and steam room. Swimming laps and then relaxing in the heat during the winter is something Ill definitely miss. The pool is never crowded, in fact most of the time I was the only one there, if not one other person. The staff is great. I couldnt hear anyone through the walls they seemed to be pretty thick. Its plenty close to campus. I walked to all my classes. It took about 25 minutes to get to the center of campus on foot.
Its great place to live
Wouldnt give me my deposit back after I told him I couldnt move in I wouldnt lease with this place unless you want to get ripped off
I lived here for 4 years (2008-2012). It miss it ...
