Started as a student in 2018 and graduated 2020. Licensed in 2020 as well. When I first started I had absolutely zero experience. Mr J taught me everything to know from cutting hair to the business aspect of the trade. You get real time experience working with real clients at the school so by the time you graduate your well ready to work in a barber shop. They even prepare you with the material and knowledge needed to pass the stateboard exam.

I went to school here a year ago went for six months to get my barber license since I already had my cosmetology license I highly recommend this school for barber school. I wish I would of found this school sooner 3 years ago instead of going to cosmo school. Mr. J is a very excellent instructor he puts all his focus on his students and helps them step by step to complete the haircut. Very good price for haircuts. Very clean school well mannered school. Mr. J always makes sure the client leave out of the chair looking nice and clean with there cuts . Thanks to him I pass and now I’m a licensed barber and cosmetologist. I will definitely be going back to this school for my instructors license.

Midwest is a good place to go if you wanna be a student I I went to school last year and i don’t regret it at all mr.j makes sure you graduate with knowing a lot. It’s a very professional school and makes sure you learn recommend it 10 out of 10

These people don’t play, if it’s quality you want it’s quality you’ll get. Shout out to Taboo, Mario, and Eli. Met them all my first time here and they’re cool as hell, hilarious too. Students and instructors are really serious about their craft. I’ll be cutting my hair here for a while, and should I decide to start cutting myself, this is the place.

They started out as my clean up in-between cuts when they first opened and after about one month, this was my primary barber shop, and it still is! Mr. J is great, the students really do an excellent job, the atmosphere is clean and positive... I dont think Ive ever left with a bad cut! Midwest will have my business for a long time.

I went to this place for the first time yesterday, and upon walking in it was very clean and well lit up. The owner Mr. J. Supervises all haircuts, and makes sure everything is done properly. His students do a great job, and the price is unbeatable!!! Cash only, and tip your stylist. I highly recommend checking this place out!!!P.S. Being an automotive mechanic of eighteen years you gain more experience doing hands on work rather than books, and tests. This is a very respectable company!!!

Was looking for last minute haircut, did not realize it was a barber academy at first, but went with it anyway. Kurt (student) did an amazing job on my cut. I also noticed the instructors were very hands on in guiding the students towards a perfect cut on the clients. I will definitely be going back their again. Awesome Job with the high and tight into a fade cut.

Ive been visiting here for a few years. I always get greeted and the supv is always overseeing the students work. I feel confident in knowing the premises are clean, and I will have a good experience.An excellent place to go.

It’s an overall great place to get a cut. I really liked the fact that there is an instructor there that walks from booth to booth keeping an eye out and helping the students. Would definitely go back again!

The Academy is always welcoming upon entering. Ive been here probably 4 or 5 times. The head instructor is always walking, looking n instructing his students. I like how he determines if what I asked for is what I get before I get up from the chair. Great place for ladies to get trimmed and there are lady barbers, too. Highly Recommended

Cheap haircut with perfection.

Always get a great shave here, the students are really good and give great service under the guidance of their instructor who not only teaches but also leads by example. Ive been coming here for over a year now and would not go anywhere else!
