My new favorite place and Kevin is my new favorite nail tech. First, he is amazing at designs. Second, just about every time I get acrylics/fill, my nails will fall off and lift really bad within a week& a half or two weeks. I’ve always had that problem but it doesn’t happen here. A little pricier (these nails were a fill with design and trim down - $45 without tip) but definitely worth it.
I walked in between 4 and 4:30pm and started to sign in when I was asked what I was hoping to have done and I told her a fill. She looked around then stated that they couldn’t do it as they closed at 6pm and they had 5 people working. I was baffled as to how they didn’t have time (must have been due to staffing) when most of the room was empty. As I was leaving a lady walked up and asked for a manicure and she said to sign up she would have to wait. Wait? What?? I tried asking the woman that denied me service if someone else was able to handle what I was needing. but she acted as if I didn’t say anything to her. She wouldn’t even look at me! So they have time for one person but not another? I had to call my husband who dropped me off and I explained to him what had gone on. And of course with him being a retired military he didn’t appreciate nor approved what happed when he showed up he could tell I was upset, embarrassed, and felt as if I looked bad or why she would treat me that way. I have never been treated this way so blatantly. He came in and tried to ask her why she singled me out and she ignored us completely and allowed another person to sign in and wait for services. This behavior is unprofessional, ignorant, and small minded. I don’t know how a business which is run this way survives in this day and age. You cannot treat people this way and expect your business to do well. I was trying this nail salon only because it was the only one open in town on Sunday. I had been told that the quality didn’t compare to my favorite salon but I was willing to try it anyway and this is what happens when I arrive? I will never return and I hope nobody asks me about them because of course I will have to tell them of my experience. I’ll be at VIP nails where I am treated kindly and have excellent work done every time.
I had an appointment at 11. They did my pedicure and then sat me down to wait for a dip mani. They kept me waiting for almost an hour and never apologized for the wait or even acknowledge it. Theyve always been bad with appointments and timing, but this was too long of a wait when you have an appointment. Time to find a new place.
I have been going from nail salon to nail salon looking for one with everything to meet my expectations. Yesterday was my 1st time to Nailtique in over ten years. I was not disappointed. A new tech Sheila did an amazing job on my nails, and she was very sweet to talk to. The prices were reasonable too.
If I could give 0 stars I would. We had an appointment for 2 adult pedicures and 2 kid pedicures. They kept switching workers, each pedicure treatment was different, and then at the end they just walked away and left us in the chairs with our feet up. 10 minutes later another lady comes and rudely says we need to get out of the chairs because they need them. They wouldnt allow two of us to get french tips, they didnt want me to have the same color as my daughter, then at the very end while paying they were yelling across the store that I didnt leave a tip when I hadnt even paid yet. The pedicure itself was horrible, my feet feel no different whatsoever. I will stick to pronails on the west side.
I got a full set gel polish got home and gel polish started coming off informed owner Kelli had to go back a second time to get redone polish came off a second time informed Kelli husband that I didn’t want to go to the same nail technician who did my nails the first time because of the polish coming off he insisted that I gave the technician a second chance and I informed him that if it happened again I wouldn’t come back and it happened again so I’m not going back there I rather go somewhere I can get good service I pay to much money for this to keep happening.
Been coming to Nailtique for years. I bring my mom, my daughter, and now my granddaughter. Always professional, clean, and well done. Sometimes my husband comes too for a manicure and eyebrow waxing. I highly reccomend them.
My nail tech was friendly and polite, but she didnt do a good job. My gel manicure was finished in 20 minutes because they were running behind schedule, and it shows. Very sloppy application, lots of bubbles and missed spots, and it started lifting after 5 days. Lesson learned, I wont be back.
They always do a good job and I always love my nails!
I went to get my nails done with my mom the day before we left for florida, it’s 3 days later and 3 of them have fallen off, nails usually last me a month or more. He was extremely aggressive and I now have to get them redone. I will never come back here
Kelly and staff do a great job of making sure that you are satisfied with their services. Highly recommend!
Yura Phan is excellent! Very talented nail artist.
Wow!!! I havent been here in about 10 years, and Kelly did a fantastic job with my Chrome gel nails today!! She had a different kind of chrome that has flakes in it that I have never seen before, and it is so gorgeous. She really took her time and shaped my nails nicely, and the color is fantastic. Im so impressed!! I was afraid I was going to have to go to Indianapolis to get this kind of quality, but thank goodness I can stay in my hometown.
First he couldn’t do the design I wanted then i told them I didn’t like them told me basically get over it.i paid way to much to hate my nails these where suppose to be my engagement nails
Awesome at doing nails just try an get there an few hours before closing time that way there be no rush rush
They have no system. Whether you make an appointment or not, it’s still first come, first serve. They skip right over you because an appointment or list means nothing. Prepare to wait over an hour and a half for your poor quality pedicure.
Always have a good experience! I always get in no matter how busy they are!
Honesty is everything, yet the owner told me $20 dollar gel nail service costed $30. Only after showing her the list of services on the wall did she walk away throw her hands in the air and say “ it’s only a few dollars, I’ll give it to you” Wow but she was really arguing with me about a few dollars she’s didn’t care about??? My gel polish was not put on evenly therefore the look was inconsistent. There’s no sanitizer, The employees do not wear gloves, they never wash their hands, they never have the customers washed your hands either COVID-19 is real. My next visit I booked an appointment, yet a walk-in was excepted 10 minutes before the start of my appointment and I had to wait an hour for Services. I had the dip my nails where not filed down smooth and evenly. It looks like I have concrete slabs on every other finger. I will never go here again 🙄
Nails fell off 3 days after i got them done
Got pedi and 3 yo daughter for mani and pedi. They were sweet and wonderful. Got there as soon as they opened.
The people there were super nice and my nails look gorgeous!! It was my first time there and I will definitely come back soon for a acrylic refill!! ❤️
I love this place they do a great job and are very friendly!
After waiting 20min past my appointment time, I was taken back. Only to then be moved to an empty station and sit longer while others were taken care of. I ultimately waited an hour and 15min to even get started. Not the place to go in a hurry.
First time coming here and probably never coming back. I left the place really upset and my nails were done so poorly. I felt like the job was rushed and while cutting my cuticles my thumb was cut and now is swollen. One of the designs on my nails was completely smudged off and she didn’t bother fixing it. My nails turned out so bad and uneven and it’s the worst manicure I’ve ever received.
Worth the wait
I loved my nails!!! I forget the name of the man who did them, but I showed him some pictures of what I wanted and he did them exactly like I wanted! 10/10 would recommend.
We have used it for years. Great people with good service.
Great service, great friendliness do a good job on the nails I always go there.
My husband and daughters have gone there for their daddy daughter dates and they absolutely love it. They come back looking so classy and the customer care they receive there is top notch.
I went to get my nails taken off and they left me soaking for a hour and a half and when i left someone told my face looked blotchy..... I GOT CHEMICAL BURNS ON MY FACE. It hurts so bad i can barely talk
The guy who did my nails did a great job
Jessica is AMAZING!!! The whole staff was nice and welcoming, I dont splurge often, but from now on when I do, it will be here! I changed my mind halfway through and decided to get acrylics instead of gel, which we all know is a HUGE deal in a nail salon and Jessica was a peach about it! I will recommend this place forever!!Also...my nails are ON POINT!!!
So I got a full acrylic set oval shaped medium length. The only thing the nail technician got correct was the length of my nail. Every single nail meaning all 10 have some kind of weird point at weird angles. On four of my nails the acrylic goes over my cuticle and actually onto my fingers. three of my nails are still actually tacky from where the Polish did not set and there are fibers on quite a few of them from again where theyre still tacky and not fully dry and this was done before I ever left the salon. The fibers are from the material they wipe down your fingers with.I really never have been this disappointed with a nail set . I could have done better at home drunk.
Great nail work, nice massage!
Had an acrylic ripped off because tech placed it crooked. Had another acrylic placed crooked, clipped down and another placed on top, so now my nail points out quite a bit. Gel polish was not properly applied. She didnt wait full time for the UV light. My nails were still sticky. Polish was not applied to full nail. The black undercoat covered more of my nail than the color, so I had a line of black around the edges and bottom of the color. Gel had streaks in it and only one coat of the top color was applied so the streaks were very visible. I asked for an oval tip, and received pointy claws that I wound up shaping myself at home. BE AWARE, they file a LOT of the acrylic off the bottom so that youll have to come back for fills more often. (Equivalent to 2-3 weeks of nail growth) Still left a generous tip, but I will NEVER be back.
I go to Nailtique every two weeks to get a gel manicure. The staff is amazing and always answer any questions that I have. Today I went in and recieved my manicure from Paulette. She is AMAZING. She explained every step to me and why she did it. I went with a mermaid gel color and she made my nails look so beautiful. Ive recommended her to my coworker. Every nail technician that I have had has been so sweet and professional. Even the nail technicians that I havent personally received services from are friendly and make me feel welcomed. You guys are the best!💜🤗💅
Jessica did a pedicure for me, which was much needed. I opted for the hot stone pedicure and was not disappointed. She did a wonderful job. I highly recommend.
The only reason they get a 2 is because on my youngest daughters manicure 💅🏾 it came out lovely!!! We got there 5 minutes before our appointment and weren’t seen for 20 after.... my youngest waited 30 minutes... I get it your a busy establishment.... My eldest daughters nails were shaped beautifully and the nail tech Paul was awesome...... She doesn’t like the color she chose but “such is life”... she’ll be okay til the next fill.... my nails are terrible they aren’t all the same shape or color because she rushed my hands. They already look like they’ve been done for a week, sorta faded.....I was so pissed that instead of sitting, waiting for my daughters, I stood up near the door...I will not get my nails done there ever again. My youngest can come back because it’s only $10.00 for her mani.... like I said her nail tech did wonderful on her hands. My eldest feels bad cause she’s gotten good service from here before and her nails look good now..... It’s frustrating cause I need a good nail home. 😒😔
Does not even deserve one star the way my 2 daughters came home and said how they were treated. The 2 ladies who did their nails were extremely rude, forceful and rough with their hands. My daughter was cut with scissors while the other was cut around her nails leaving them really red when she came home. These ladies would not listen to what color or shape she was looking for and was agitated when she tried to show her from her phone. You should be ashamed of your self! If you dont like your job go somewhere else.
This place was the worst experience of my life at a nail salon. The man who did my nails was extremely rude. This place was cheap and horrible. He made my nails uneven, didn’t bother to paint the sides of the nails, left nail polish on the skin around the nails and pulled the skin on my cuticle so much it started bleeding. If I wanted to do a job like this, would’ve done it myself. The professionalism was very poor and the quality was disgusting. I would never even think twice about coming here again in the future.
I was really surprised to see a good number of bad reviews. This is the best place in b town to get acrylics. I’ve been going for full sets and fills since October and I’ve never been disappointed. Chair 1,2, and especially 3 are my personal favorites. They have pretty standard prices but they do such great work. Sure, they tend to rush when it’s busy, but even rushed, their technique and application is spot on. Highly recommend!
Quick fast service, however the man who did my nails seemed extremely rushed. I got a full set gel nail, and I am not too thrilled with the shape. I had to go home and refile them myself. The nails are extremely uneven in some spots, and the polish has some weird imperfections on my pinky and thumb. I gave them two stars for the quick fast service.
Nice staff, clean salon.
Ive been a regular client for almost 6 years and its my go to place for all things nails and toes.My go to technician is Amy but there are numerous goals who do equally incredible work.
The owners are kind and caring. The best nail artists in Bloomington. I have always had a positive experience with all techs at this location. I have made the mistake visiting closer salons, and I have been disappointed that I did not go to Nailtique. Amy, Kelly, TJ, and all employees are exceptional. **After reading reviews about tipping, this is a service, and like a dining experience, you should tip 20-30%**
Wonderful job on my nails
Ive went here 4 or 5 times because I liked the owner. The last 2 times my nails have fallen off a week after. I was even charged extra my last visit. Once they see your not giving a tip, (I think $35 is enough for nails) attitudes change...
I LOVE LOVE LOVE my nail lady Kelly. Such great customer service and always makes my nails look great! Highly recommend!
I have always had great service here. They have done a great job. TJ is great, as well as the owner and Kelly. I have had many people as a walk-in and have always left happy.
I had my nails done there on Wednesday evening. I always get gel polish whenever I have my acrylics done. They always last me until my next visit (2weeks religiously). I had an event I was going to on Friday and so I knew they would still look good as it was 2 days later. That wasnt the case. They all chipped and peeled off by Friday morning and I had to paint them myself for my event because I didnt have time to have anyone else do them before I went. I was also mad when I picked a colour to go with my dress but the technician said, and I quote no, you dont want that colour. Its too sparkly. I will choose a colour for you. Then called over another technician to talk badly about the previous infill I had and stood over me to talk badly about it.I will not be recommending this place or be going there ever again myself.Complete waste of time and $40
I had to get my nails filled and one also fixed because one was broken off. I understand that waiting for a while in salons is normal, so I decided to still give the store a chance. After the lady started to replace one of my fake nails that had broke off, she made it a completely different length that my other finger nails were. If Im being charged to get a new nail put on, it should at least be the same length as all of the others instead of drastically short compared to my long nails I have. On top of that, she did not buff/sand or whatever it is called when they file the top of your acrylic nails to make them smooth on one of my nails so my thumb is all bumpy and scratchy. Two of my other nails are bumpy and not completely smooth also. The paint job was nice, but thats about it. On top of it, almost every little thing is tacked onto your nails. Im not going to get charged for getting my nails filed down. Im not gonna leave spending over $25 for a fill when a whole new set is only $30. Basically, I went there once and it will be my last time attending Nailtique.
Very good service nice people little rough on timing and shaping acrylics
There’s a reason this place has such a horrible rating. These people take ZERO pride in their work. I hate that I actually went here, knowing how bad they’ve done in the past. I have NEVER in my life seen a woman paint nails as quick as my nail tech painted mine. She was so sloppy about it and rushed to get them done as fast as possible. She had no attention to detail, my 6 year old son could’ve painted my nails better than her. My advice, if you don’t care to make an actual appointment somewhere, go see Jenny at Jenny’s Nails or Nancy at Nail Studio on S Walnut. Nancy is by far the best nail tech I’ve ever seen. Either way, save your money and don’t go here.
Have had a great experience until I just wanted my gel nail polish removed and nail technician told me they had no time. Didnt quote how long wait would be or anything - just said come back tomorrow. They wont get my business anymore.
Great experience with a pedicure. Better than the time begore.
I have been going to the Nailtique for over 8 years now for my nails as well as pedicures. Everyone there is very nice and polite and the do an AWESOME job. Kelly and Kevin run a very outstanding business!!! I refuse to go anywhere else!!!
Not only have I had my nails done at this place, but I also worked here for five years. Kelly and Kevin have always been fair and good people, and they have truly put their hearts and souls into their business. Though I wasnt close with everyone there, I know that this salon is always filled with people who are working hard, open to close, every day, and I truly appreciate what I have learned there.Their products and polish selection are top-notch. They only use the best products for their clients, and their array of colors to use is continually growing and always up-to-date. They have a very clean environment, and both Kelly and Kevin have done their best to make the atmosphere relaxing and aesthetically pleasing for clients and employees alike. Though I am no longer employed there, I will always make sure I get my services done there whenever I visit!
I would give a 1/2 if I could. I took my daughter there once & they messed,up,her nails from the gate, so i asked her to fix them & in less than a week the all fell of. However. I gave them a 2nd chance & took both my daughters in for all of the get mani/pedis prior to a baby shower & and so upset & disappointed. I asked them to simply paint my nails & NOT buff them down or anything. I asked this multiple times & she did it anyway. Its again been a week & its all peeled off, ruining & breaking my nails, my daughters have broke & peeled all over the place. I expected better for 210$ I WILL NOT go back or ever recommend them!!!
Worked too fast and was so unorganized I could scream. Got a full set and the nail tech didnt push my cuticle back or do anything to it really so my nails look like they have a ton of grow out after only 3 days of wear. Nail lengths are also completely uneven and some nails just look so unfortunately wonky. Would have spoke to the nail tech about this before leaving but he rushed me out of the place so fast that I wasnt able to see these issues when they happened nor was I able to speak about it to him. Will not be coming back.
Although I have recently moved out of the Bloomington Area I highly recommend Nailtique! Kelly and Amy are wonderful, doing a fantastic job! Kelly you are so sweet, best wishes to you!!!(Full sets and Pedicures were services I had done)Sincerely,Megan Hook
NO! NO! NO! Went in with a bride to be to get our nails done together. We had an appointment. I wanted a simple regular manicure (they tried to convince me that I needed something more than what I wanted). I had gel still on my nails. They sat me in a chair, put the aluminum on my fingers and forgot all about me. They took several people ahead of me after about 35 minutes of sitting with the aluminum on my fingers, it began to tingle and burn. I asked the closest tech and he said it would be a while before they could get to me. After 45 minutes, the bride was done getting her full set of acrylic nails and I still had aluminum burning holes in my nails, I got up, went to a nail booth, took off the foil, a nail tech handed me tools and I scraped the polish off myself and walked the hell out of there.
Im given them a 1 not because the work done was horrible but....I found it funny that I got my toes done and while I was getting my nails done I was asked to pay up front. I didnt think anything of it at the time because I know they were coming to a close so I gave him my card. There was a white woman next to me getting her nails done as well and he didnt ask her to pay I assumed it was because she either paid already or paying with cash. The lady gets up because her nails were done and guess what she paid with a card! Im calling them out for being racist and I will not be back in for them to get my hard earned money.
My experience here was unbelievable. My friend gave me a gift card to this place, and after reading the reviews, I wasnt sure if Id use it and honestly, I wish I hadnt. I just got a basic manicure and pedicure (no color on nails). The person doing my toenails commented on how heavy my legs are and how dry my feet were. Then, when doing my fingernails, she didnt cut them much so I told her that I prefer my nails shorter. She cut them down to the skin, and then she never filed them or rounded them, so my nails were squared at the top. It was a really bizarre experience, and the two stars are just because my pedicure turned out okay. There are lot of other great nail salons in Bloomington that Id highly recommend checking out.
Jessica is Amazing. Customer service is great
I took my daughter there to get her first set of acrylic nails. The guys spent most of the time answering the phone. When he was using the drill thing he cut her finger. The acrylic is very uneven. He didnt even put the acrylic back to her cuticle so it looks like she needs a fill already. The acrylic is so thin that after 3 days her nail broke. This place is a joke!
Cut my nails too short then poorly painted nails with black gel based showing around edges. Tips of nails have thick area of polish that looks awful. Very rude tech as well.
Great place to get your nails done
I always come here! TJ is the best!!
Always busy but friendly and great service
They move too fast. I went once and was disappointed so I tried again with a new person and still left feeling cheated out of my money. I got a pedicure and literally you cant tell the difference. You basically pay $30 to get your polish changed so just ask for a polish change. They dipped my feet in water and painted my toes. Dry skin is still there. Every nail on my hands are a different shape and the paint job was horrible bc it looks like a needs a fill still bc she painted so far down from my cuticle. Just go someone else. Theyre super friendly while theyre wasting your time though.
I have been going to Nailtique for almost 7 years now and have recommended it to any one I meet. Everyone is so kind in the shop and always takes their time. I have moved away from the Bloomington area and EVERY time I come home I make it a point to get my nails done at Nailtique because of their AMAZING service. I HIGHLY recommend!! After 4 years of not living in Bloomington and visiting dozens of nail salons this is still my FAVORITE place to go!! AMAZING...AMAZING...AMAZING!!!
I had a problem last time I went and they made it right. The owner is super sweet and they have amazing nail techs here!! Kristie is insanely good at gel nails, and TJ is 100% who you want to goto for acrylic nails! TJ and Kristie are both very friendly and both are VERY talented!!!!! Highly recommend this place!
They always do a great job! Thank you!
Fist time ever getting acrylics. Man was very rude, forceful and rough with my hands. 3 of my nails are crooked and to top it off when he was standing my nails with the little drill he sanded my skin and made me bleed. Before he was even finished he had me pay him and was rude about the whole process. I dont think Ill ever get acrylics again but I can promise you I will never go to Nailtiques for ANYTHING.
Awful. they rush so much and every time my nails come out uneven or there are issues with the polish. i looked like i needed a fill in right after getting them. very annoying. would not recommend.
I have given this place 3 tries and yesterday was my final visit there. About a year ago, I went with a friend (who called ahead so we could get manis together). She is a regular there and even is friends with the lady that does her services. When we got there, she immediately was able to start her mani but i had to wait a good 20 minutes. By the time i had started - she had finished. I felt like I didn’t get a good service due to me not being a “regular”.A second time I went there I asked for a gel mani. Once I sat down, she started getting stuff out for a new acrylic set. I reminder her I was getting just a gel mani. She put everything back then when I went to pay she charged me for a full set. I had to tell her that wasn’t what I got, as she should have known because she DID my gel mani. Then yesterday.. I thought I would give this place a try for a pedi. My water was cold and the lady kept pinching me with the cuticle remover tool. She didn’t use a stone or anything on the bottom of my feet - which is honestly the MAIN reason I get pedicures. She put lotion on my legs & only applied 1 coat of polish. No top coat. As I was drying my feet, the lady told me my total and asked “What do you want to put as a tip?”. Not “Do you WANT to leave a tip” she straight up asked what is the tip. I gave her my card, she went over to the register, then she comes back asking for my pin?? That made me feel a little uneasy.. Luckily everything was charged correctly. If I could give this place zeros stars - I would. I guess you should only go here if you have “connections”.
EXCUSEEEE MEEEE. HOLD UPPPP. So. The 1st time I went on my merry way to this establishment they painted my nails....B L U E. instead of P I N K. THEN. the 2nd time....Mulan did the INCORRECT shape and length. GET WITH THE PROGRAM. she made me pay 5 extra dollars for it. F I V E!!!! We shallll notttt come back. you got me RATTLED. #sHoOkToThEcOrE
They did a wonderful job on my gel nails
This is my second time at this nail salon. I thought I would give them one more chance. Each visit, the nail technician was very quick and the polish job and trimlooked very unprofessional. I guess I will not be going back for a third try.
The bridal party went to this salon before my wedding, and we were not at all impressed with the service. Some of the technicians were rude, painted nails poorly, and double-charged us for two of the manicures. All the manicures started flaking within a day. Not recommended.
Love the people and am always satisfied!
My favorite place! Hah.
I was hesitant to come in and be helped by any of the many employees, but the man who did my nails did an amazing job.
My favorite, best Pedicure in Louisville!
I would definitly recomend them. They are very nice. I got a french pedicure a day ago and im going back today to get a manicure. Chairs are so confy. It is my favorite place to go and i like how they have lower prices for kids.
Eh. They rushed my nails and they turned out awful. I even presented a photo of what I wanted. I’m sad. :( I don’t recommend.
Took my daughter there to have her nails and toes done for her 13th bday. Very disappointed in the services. Her nails were chipping by the next morning and I was charged way more then the quote the guy gave me on the phone before we went. Lady did an extra design o her thumbs that we didnt ask for (then i believe charged us for it) not very friendly. Will not go back
I had a good experience - just had a fairly long wait (20+ min) until being able to start. It is probably the largest nail salon in town - tons of people working.
Kelly is very talented artists.
Absolutely awful!! The ran my card 3 times!! Ive been there twice now first time with my mom her gel polish fell off 2, Days later we called them they said they would fix them until we got there and they told us no they dont remember us calling. I nail bed was grinded into which is now sore and bruised! Good luck to anyone who goes here!
I have gone to this salon for several years. The only negative I had for a long time was that even if you had an appt, many times, you still had to wait as if you had no appt. I usually have Amy do my nails and she does a wonderful job and I love her! However, the last few times I have gone, Amy was not working those days. My last visit, I had an appt for a fill and pedicure. The guy that did my pedicure spent more time watching the tv and other people in the salon than he did looking at my feet. When I got home and looked closely at my feet, my nails were uneven and the polish was not even across the nail. I then waited under the foot dryer for 25 minutes before the owners husband could do my fill. Apparently, he forgot about me! When I finally did get to his table, he was interrupted so many times by other technicians providing him with their clients payments, then him having to run the credit cards, get change, greet people at the front counter, etc. He did okay on my nails, but some of the edges were extremely rough because he didnt spend enough time filing them smooth. He offered no apology for forgetting about me (when I had an appt), and no apology for all the interruptions. I go to have my nails done and expect a relaxing experience. I feel the salon is more interested in herding in as many people as they can regardless of how long everyone is forced to wait. I really like Kelly the owner and Amy, but Im afraid they are no longer putting their customers first - it is all about how many people they can see in a day. I left more stressed than when I got there and felt like I received sub-standard service. Im going to have to find a different salon that understands what customers are looking for - service, a spa setting, to be the focus of the technicians without constant interruptions. This place is chaotic!
Fantastic service here !
I visited to this nail salon Wednesday night and was greeted immediately by one of their white workers so I thought to myself, Well they have sense enough to greet, this will be a good experience. Thats right before it went downhill. The same woman started complaining about how she didnt want to do my nails (originally I thought because she had an appointment coming in) but for the entire hour or so I was there she played on her phone at her station and talked to a colleague. So she asked me to sit at the booth of a guy that wasnt even in the shop at the time (while there were at least 3 other available techs in the salon at that time). So a few minutes later he enters and doesnt greet me but starts talking in his language to another individual who was watching the entire scene (half asleep it appeared/lounging in one of the pedicure chairs). He then asks me to move to a different booth so that the half asleep individual can do my nails. She comes, doesnt greet me, and doesnt talk the entire time except for one instance, which I initiate. A customer, which happened to be a white young lady enters the salon and the man that refused to service me jumped up, smiles, was interactive, and escorted her to his booth. My one attempt to make conversation with the individual servicing me went like this: I stated, Oh, Im so tired and smiled, her response was, You want your eyebrows done? When it was time to pay, I paid with my card and she asked if I wanted to charge a tip also. I added a $5 tip (more than 20%) which I regret considering the service and the fact that she didnt ask if I wanted my nail cut down or anything, and the individual did not say thank you or anything after I signed. She just walked out of the store to a bench near the shop to continue resting. I had heard of these negative experiences occurring in Bloomington, as Im not from here, however this was my first negative customer service encounter in Bloomington. My first experience at this salon was awesome in December (serviced by owners wife), but this time I felt discriminated against due to my race (black) and I unfortunately wont be patronizing this business anymore. I debated writing this review, but I dont want others to experience this negativity or waste their money here for horrible service.
Kristie did nail tips with dip!!! Totally worth the hour drive from Vincennes to get it done!!!
