I went to campus automotive after I ran over something with my car and ripped off the fender lining. I was very upset and was not sure what to do. I would recommend James Morrison, he was super nice, professional, and helped me calm down. He then proceeded to tell me the steps I should take in order to fix my car. He offered to walk me through the whole process. This is an absolutely wonderful place!

Excellent service! The bad reviews are primarily from their towing end, which, in all fairness, no one is happy to get towed.Their service end is exactly what I would want out of a car service business. They send you a comprehensive report via email that shows you exactly what they inspected and whether or not their findings need immediate attention. They also include pictures of any findings (oil leaks, rust, etc...).Overall, wonderful experience!

Went here because I needed an inspection and another shop told me I needed major work done, so I wanted to see if my car would pass inspection at all. Initially I was extremely impressed because of how thorough they were about the inspection(and that they told me I didn’t need major work done) but… then I was misinformed TWICE. On the phone they said I needed new brake pads, so I told them I would buy my own and bring them in. Then once I get there they asked if I was replacing the rotors too, something they DID NOT mention on the phone. They said my rotors would not fail inspection, but they recommended they be replaced because they don’t usually replace pads without doing the rotors too. I was going to do both, but decided against it so my mechanic at home could do it instead. However, when I called them back and said I decided to do only the brake pads they said they would not do that because of their policy, which was not mentioned to me before. Not a bad shop, they are very thorough and I appreciate that, but they need to be more clear about things upfront.

I needed a quick tire repair or replacement after running over a chunk of metal in the street and damaging one of my tires on a Friday morning. Three other shops turned me away because of their existing workload, but James at Campus Automotive helped me out, even though they also were fully booked.His crew put on the spare tire for short term use, and James was able to order the exact model of tire to replace my old one. They had me back on the street with a new tire that same afternoon.I was impressed with the speed, courtesy and attention to detail shown at Campus Automotive!

I called in earlier this week to see what day was best to have my car inspected and they told me Friday...I had no idea how fast it would be! I did over night drop off and my car was ready by 1:30pm! Its was just $20 for the inspection, but nothing had to be fixed. Workers were nice and no one treated me like any different just because I was a girl in the car shop :))))

I brought my company truck in at 7am without prior notice to get an inspection, wipers and oil change. Keith who works the front said he would try and get to it that day. I had locked my keys inside of my vehicle and was assisted by Dakota. He unlocked my car in less than a minute and was even at the scene before the estimated time window that was given making for a speedy process. All in all the company was quick, knowledgeable, and most of all respectful. I would rate this company a 10/5 stars if I could because they were that great to do business with, but most of all would recommend that Dakota gets a raise for how professional and respectable he was. 10/10 would recommended.

Oh my gosh. I can’t say enough good things about Campus Automotive. I am leaving for a beach trip tomorrow and waited until the last minute for an oil change. I called and everyone in Blacksburg was full and didn’t have any space. But I called CA and they said they had a spot. So I brought it in bright and early and they were the most genuine and kind people. I’d HIGHLY recommend them. I’m a college student and don’t have a ton of money, but they were only about $45. It was reasonable and they were such a pleasure to work with.

This so called business towed my daughters car with a parking pass on the dashboard. The male person screaming on the phone stated the man that picked the car up did not see it. When asked if they would take it back, he told me no.Itold him this was a costly mistake. He told me if I keep talking he would bill us for the tow.I would never use a set‐up like this. What a horrible greedy business. EXTREMELY NONE PROFESSIONAL. Not accredited by the BBB. Wonder why!

Many thanks to Keith, James, and the whole team at Campus Automotive. My daughter is a student at Va. Tech. As she was leaving Blacksburg for Christmas Break, her truck broke down. We were able to get it towed over to Campus Automotive. They replaced the alternator for a fair price and held onto the truck for a week until I was able to make the trip from Va. Beach to pick it up.Unfortunately, in April, after a couple more trips back and forth, the truck started having transmission issues. We took it back to Campus Automotive. They quoted a fair price for a new transmission, but the truck is a little too old and too unreliable to justify that expense. They were understanding of the decision, and again, agreed to hold onto the truck until I could arrange transport. They had it for over a week, helped the transporter load the truck, and called me to let me know it had been picked up. I appreciate the responsiveness and professionalism of Campus Automotive. I hope my daughter doesnt have any more issues with her car while she is at school, but having a reliable garage nearby provides great peace of mind. Thanks again.

Great service. I needed to get my car inspected and Keith said I could stop by in 15 minutes. I showed up, dropped off my car, and a couple hours later received a text with a very detailed summary of the inspection test along with pictures which was great. I had to replace my wipers and a reverse light and they were able to get it done in about 10 minutes. Very efficient and the customer service is great.

We got a flat tire a couple miles outside of blacksburg. Called campus for a tow/shuttle and ended up being able to change the tire ourselves - they took our busted tire to the shop and we were able to order a new tire on the spot. We got the tire put on the next day very quickly. I had to spend only an hour total dealing with the situation. Great service, great price.

Campus Automotive has been one of the best auto shops I have been serviced by. Even with my last minute car problem they took great care of me and my car. Though I came in with one specific issue, they also took care of other maintenance issues that they noticed.

Dropped my car off on a Tuesday. Asked for the car to be checked out since I had hit a major hole in the road and popped a tire. The guys there said I needed to replace my tire and that was as expected. They couldn’t get a matching tire through their distributor so I had to go out of my way to get one. Dropped off the tire that Friday evening. Monday morning I get a call from them expressing that they had put the new tire on but had noticed I needed to get 2 other tires replaced. My car almost sat in their lot for a week and they figured not to even check it out! And then on top of that had to pay a good sized chunk bill for a tire rotation and tire alignment that I’m going to have to get redone anyways. Do not recommend unless you can go a month or two without your car

I went into check my mail and in support of local business - decided to order food to pick-up. Unbeknownst to me, as I waited for my to-go food, my car was towed - all within a 30 minute window. I was then lied to by the tow driver, who said he checked the post office and also received a call from the local postmaster, on a Saturday at 615pm - of all days, including a long holiday weekend. Furthermore I have a friend who works at the local post office, who confirmed that postmaster never drives by the downtown post office to request vehicles are towed. The driver clearly lied, which makes me wonder if this business can be trusted as they also do car repairs. After my experience, be warned; they are dishonest.

My vehicle got towed for parking in a wrong spot during an emergency. I called to try and explain the situation. The person who replied was extremely rude to me and hung up on me. Getting towed is a terrible experience in itself and it is pretty expensive so I believe even if there is no way out of it, you should employ people who are polite and courteous in explaining the situation and showing some empathy. I feel like I have been bullied and disrespected by the person on the phone and I am really sad now.

One time, and reasonably priced, much more professional than the Quick-Lube shops - Nice inspection with details on tires, and other recommended procedures, but no pressure to do this work now. The pay attention to details, such as recommending the proper VW approved synthetic oil for Audis. - I will be back.

I had Campus Automotive do a third party inspection on a JDM import. They picked up the vehicle the same day i spoke to them, and had the inspection to me by the end of the day. James went through the report with me, and it was truly one of the greatest experiences, as far as detail, and information goes for this type of vehicle inspection. i was purchasing the vehicle from out of state so i was unable to be there in person to go through it and wanted peace of mind on the inspection before buying it. he went above and beyond and agreed to talk to the JDM repair center technician out of state to go through the whole vehicle that would be doing the work necessary, as it was a used JDM import. James and Keith did a vehicle safety inspection for me so I could renew my car registration and license plate. They were both super helpful and knowledgable - Highly recommend!

Campus Automotive was awesome- I called in the morning asking to get an inspection, dropped my car off an hour later, and it was done before the end of the day. The process was super simple and everyone there was extremely friendly and respectful. They even provide a shuttle after you drop your car off, something I havent seen before: I definitely will be returning for my future car needs.

Outstanding emergency service from Travis!! Travis helped me this evening when I got a flat tire on the side of 460 East coming home from work. He immediately called after he got the request from AAA to clarify where I was. Once he realized I was on the side of 460 and stuck between the guardrail and the road, he insisted I stay in my car to remain safe. He arrived quickly, and upon arrival he checked in and then quickly got to work. He aired up my spare as it was a little low and then changed my tire efficiently. The whole time, he kept me updated and was polite and genuinely kind and concerned about my safety to remain in the car. Best shop I’ve been to in Blacksburg! As a young college student, I’m typically weary about shops because I don’t want to be overcharged or purchase something I don’t need. Campus automotive was so kind, professional, and efficient when I got a nail in my tire. They explained everything they were going to do and talked about all of my options and didn’t pressure me into any particular one. They also offered me a shuttle back to campus if my car was taking too long! I couldn’t recommend them more!

This company towed 2 of my guests cars from a lot without proper signage according to local Blacksburg ordnances. They lot did not have proper signage on each entrance. They also previously failed to diagnose a transmission issue in my roommate’s car 2 years ago, resulting in the total loss of the car.

Within 10 minutes of calling AAA to request lockout service, Travis from Campus Automotive arrived, ready and willing to help. I really like the free “shuttle” option! This definitely helps students who don’t want to wait for a bus, but don’t want to spend all day at the shop. They were very nice and professional. Reasonably priced and have good discounts.

Campus Automotive engages in predatory towing practices. I visited a friend of mine in the Highlands at Huckleberry Ridge last night where she is temporarily housed because of a house fire. While I was there, Campus Automotive towed my car. There were absolutely no signs in the lot I parked in that indicated I shouldn’t park there. I was informed later that there is a sign at the entrance to the large apartment complex, which I verified, but there is really no way I would have seen that sign when I entered the complex in the dark at 6:20 in the evening. Perhaps not even in daylight. Clear signage should be required before towing. In other states, prowling the lot looking for people to tow, which Campus Automotive does, is illegal. Someone must call and complain to initiate a tow. While perhaps legal in the strict sense of the word, this is poor practice, preying on people who have no intention of violating rules. They charge the maximum fee allowable by law, $175, and don’t allow the car to be recovered until the next day, resulting in major inconvenience. I will be lodging complaints with the Better Business Bureau, the Chamber of Commerce, and the Town Council. I’ll also explore small claims court, as I don’t think this would stand up in court.

I just wanted to thank them for wiping out almost half my savings during this pandemic and horrible economy. 175$ for parking my car next to visitor parking when the few spots available were taken. There are always plenty of spots that arent for visitors that never get used. I was towed within 12 hours and enjoyed a panic attack when my car was missing with no notification, and a nice walk to work the next day. How can I not be upset. If you have to make contracts with local landlords to tow visitors cars that park out of place, then maybe your services arent as essential as you claim they are. It was excessive and wrong. You took my means of transportation and livelyhood and held it for ransom for no other reasonable explanation than for personal gain. These are college kids youre shaking down. Your staffs demeanor during the process only served to make me feel as if I had committed a horrendous crime.

I spoke to Spencer on the phone, and he was friendly and professional and got me in the very next day! I needed a headlight repair and a state inspection, and Campus Automotive took care of everything I needed in a matter of hours. They were professional and gave me several calls throughout the process, even offering to let me use parts I already had, in order to cut down on the cost of the service. I was given quick, professional service and what I felt to be a fair price, and I couldnt be happier. I will definitely be coming back to Campus Automotive with any car trouble in the future.

This place exists just to rip off students. My daughter took her car in because it was sputtering and they told her that it needed a new engine because the rods were bent. The cost was more than we paid for the car. We decided to take it somewhere else for a second opinion, and they told her she couldnt drive it and should have it towed. We said no way, she took it to another establishment in Blacksburg, and it turned out to be a minor repair that was fixed relatively cheaply. Do not trust this establishment with your car.

Steve was the BEST! I woke up to a flat tire. I jacked the tire up, took lug nuts off, but couldnt get the tire off. I called Campus Automotive. Hannah was very helpful. Service was fast. They were at my house in 10 minutes. Steve was able to quickly remove the tire. He even put my spare on for me. Steve was knowledgeable and offered advise to prevent the problem in the future. Tried to make me pay almost 1000$ for something that wasn’t broken, went to a dealership and got a second opinion and it turns out I was ok. Very disappointing.

They just want your money, go literally anywhere else. They did not begin the repair on my car by the time they assured me it would be finished and ready. Since I needed the car that day that they said it would be ready, I told them not to bother fixing it. Then when I questioned their $130 charge that was for inspecting the car (to simply confirm what I had already told them was wrong with my car) the two guys at the front desk stood up like they were trying to intimidate me ???, a young college student. So, $130 later, I know not to go to campus automotive.However, they did tow me when I needed help and the driver was very nice and helpful.

Unfortunately, due to miscommunication I received and was charged for extra services than those that I wanted. +1 star for speedy service regardless of my bad experience

We locked the car accidentally while our key is in the back trunk, and the car is parked in the non parking zone. Steve offered his help to get the car open instead of it being towed, and also helped me park the car in a right spot. Steve literally made my friend’s and my day because my friend is getting a new car today and his check was locked in the car!! Thank you again Steve!

Friendly quality organization. Had to use another transmission company due to cheaper transmission price. Still first class organization need more competitive pricing
