Great gym! One of the best in the state and southeast. There’s a huge pool with a hot tub, lazy River, and even a climbing wall. Plenty of classes and equipment. They have a track that goes around the whole gym and multiple basketball courts

Very nice recreation center. The staff here is very nice. Usually has not been very crowded when I have been by for a visit. There is a pool, racket ball courts, hand ball courts, 4 full size basketball courts and so much more including of course a full service workout facility.

Maintaining the hygiene. I go there couple of time. Like the swimming pool and awesome Ufit classes, just love it.

Great gym with horrible hours. Why cant I go swimming on a Saturday afternoon? Im paying a ton of money for access to facilities that Im not benefiting from.

So much to offer here, from the gym to the lazy river and swimming pool. I came for a birthday party, which I didnt know you could do. Such a cool idea. We were able to swim in January:)

I love the Campus Rec Center! Lots of equipment, you never have to wait for a machine. They also offer top-notch classes, most of which are covered by your very affordable monthly membership fee. Lots of bicycle parking, and they accommodate car parking in the lot across the street by validating your ticket during busy hours and when youd otherwise have to pay for street parking. Staff is always friendly and helpful and efficient when it gets crowded. A great overall community gathering place for staying fit and having fun!

Great place to workout. Courteous staff, lots of equipment. Clean pool area. Lots of machines, a running track, climbing wall, basketball courts, billiards, and raquet ball are some possibilities here.Students are automatically members here, employees and public can enroll and utilize the facilities also.I only wish It was open 24 hrs as against until 9pm daily.

Pretty good environment for a campus gym. Lots of different opportunities from the rock wall to the pool. Trips available for students to go out adventuring and rentals available. Gets busy during peak times but usually more than enough machines and space for everyone to work out.

Great facility for all sorts of sports and activities. Nearly have anything your heart desires for a gym! Group classes are awesome with a good variety of options and the instructors are great and knowledgeable about their classes!

The UAB Campus Rec Center is one of the best Rec centers I have been to. The Rec is located at the heart of the campus and easy to access. Plenty of parking around the perimeter. As you walk in the doors you notice a clean and organized environment. I have been to Rec center at various times morning and night and have always been able to find a place to run and use the equipment I desire, no waiting times. Also, theyre are a variety of classes and training sessions provided. In addition, in comparison to other gyms in the area, they have cleaning solution conveniently located close to most machine to clean up after a hard workout. Also, the locker rooms are clean and have plenty of lockers available for use. The staff is friendly and knowledgable. Overall, compared to other campus Rec centers, this one is far superior in the fact that it is extremely clean, organized, variety of equipment, and not crowded.

Very impressive facility. Love the open views to just about everything and it does seems to have everything. It even has racquetball courts which I thought was dead. Way to go UAB for stepping up your student amenities.

The equipment is pretty standard for a college gym. Theres a pool and plenty of things to do! Im especially rating it so high because there are always events to sign up for here, most of which are free.

Really nice facility. Indoor pool was amazing. Had a lazy river and a vortex/whirlpool. Kids loved it.

Thus gym is absolutely perfect! I love the sauna, the pool is perfectly clean and maintained year round, the staff is A-1 and the other guest are pretty cool too. I tried other gyms and this one is head and shoulders better than any competitor.

I love the facility, but this place is PACKED. I generally go in the mornings around 5:30 am, and it is less crowded, but surprisingly it can be crowded this early. Love the classes, the equipment, and the staff, but be prepared for the crowd!

Best University rec center in the States! Top notch equipment. Running, gymnastics, basket, sauna, swimming, soccer, pool, squash. Gym is open with a huge window wall. Gotta love this perk of attending UAB

That was the most awesome place I think Ive ever been. It was great to see Lakeshore play UAB in wheelchair flag football.

The facility is exceptional. Try to go at a time other than 4:00 p.m. or 5:00 p.m. as that is always the busiest time.

Work out, clean up, back to work. Repeat. Perfect campus gym, good equipment, good staff. Go blazers

World class facilities

This place is awesome, it has everything for students and members to stay physically active.

My son takes swimming classes here. Instructors are amazing... my son is now at level 5. We are not members so we do pay the non memeber fee but for the price and instruction provided by UAB it far superceeds any other program in Birmingham.

Something fun and healthy for everybody. A lot of different activities you can do and various membership plans to meet everyone’s expectations.

This place is DISGUSTING!!! They have the worst sanitary conditions of any gym that I have been in. The front desk people are rude and not helpful in the least. The employees who work there do not enforce any of the rules, the personal trainers are an absolute joke, and the fitness class teachers dont know what they are doing.

Awesome facility but the actual main gym area could use some updated equipment or at least some maintenance.

After taking classes year around (Fall, Spring AND Summer), UAB has the audacity to make me pay for the ONE month I’m not taking classes. Complete rip off, great gym besides whatever money hungry management is running the place.

The 6:30 AM class is always feels very rewarding. All of the trainers are encouraging and motivational

Its a very nice facility. Only thing I hate is that the pool only has four lanes. It should have more considering the amount of people and students that go there. Also UAB student have to pay for a regular sized locker which is unfair, considering all the money that we dish out for books, parking, etc.

Hours arent quite as good as UA and its smaller, but still a great place to work out reliably. Lots of young adults as you might expect if thats not your thing.

Great equipment thats kept in good working order. Lots of space to workout and dedicated cardio and weights areas. Pool, basketball courts, and indoor Rockwall also available

Went for a childrens pool party and was very impressed with the facility as a whole.

About as sick of a facility as can be. You always can find parking at UAB if you just wake up early enough and go workout before class.

I work here currently, and theres nothing but helpful staff, good hours, and a ckean facility for close to anything you would need from sports to leasure. Its a great location and the memberships are nice and affordable.

PARKING IS ATROCIOUS, ESPECIALLY DURING THE DAY. ITS ALWAYS A PROBLEM GETTING OUT OF THE PARKING LOT AND ITS HARD TO GET IN AND OUT OF THE REC. CENTER IN LESS THAN 2 HOURS. ITS RIDICULOUS! WORSE SETUP IVE EVER ENCOUNTERED!
