Rats, roaches and rustIf I could leave less than one star, I would. This apartment represents by leaps and bounds the most outrageous and unacceptable experiences I have had to date. If the price is appealing, prepare yourself still for the electric bill. Despite having four outlets in my *studio* apartment, I never managed to have a power bill that was under $70. But the true saga of events started with the roaches... A full infestation; I personally requested on three occasions to have the exterminator return to the property and spray. At the height of it, I killed 128 roaches (I counted) within two weeks. After that, it was the flock of birds that nest in the trees above the parking lot. My car still has stains from where the rain of feces dissolved some of the wax.Next was the string of car robberies in that same parking lot. Not safe. Then the rats (intentional distinction from the smaller mice) came. I had three in my apartment--studio apartment-- and listened to one of them scratch and crawl through my air conditioning unit for an entire night. I had to vacate the room, at my own insistence, for several days while the problem was handled: cracks sealed, and remaining rats removed. Hopefully. The rust never ceased. The water is FULL of rust, to the extent that I was even unable to use any type of third-party filtration system (Brita wont even catch the stuff). A fun experiment was to pour about half a cup of water from the sink onto a paper towel, and come back once it dried to see a red rim of rust around the edges of the paper towel.I would NEVER even consider living here again. Much rather live further away and have a drive to downtown that put myself through this again.

I’m trying to help a friend to find an apt.No one will answer the phone & you cannot leave a message. It appears they do not have an office with an answering machine. Nor do they have someone answering their phone. There are no business hours posted. This is a terrible way to run a business.

Do not fall for what you first think is character and charm. I have lived here for one year and would not live here or free for another. Just today I ran into a guy who has lived here for 6 years and has finally had it and is moving out. Hordes of cockroaches, rats, and gnats will make their home in your overpriced apartments. Hope you dont need more than 2 plugs for any of your appliances. I could easily buy a house in Hoover for what I am paying for the moldy apartment I am living in now. Dont fall for the water is included bull. I was told that when I moved in and then started getting charged without warning 3 months later. They split water bills evenly so youre not just paying for the water you use. The fitness room is a dank and musky room with some old, useless gym junk and theres a lovely rape-y vibe to the whole thing. The fire alarm goes off randomly throughout the night and water leaks are frequent. There is no in-house building superintendent so if you have any problems in the middle of the night you are screwed. The walls are pretty much concrete so dont even try to hang anything up or decorate your walls unless you have a jackhammer and the strength of Hulk on speed. The only decor on my walls are suspicious patches of black mold. My fridge likes to freeze fresh produce and meats (and this is apparently a problem for a lot of people). The rooms are not insulated whatsoever, so youll lose a lot of heat in the winter and just as much cool air in the summer. Several cars were broken into this year. The washers and dryers often break down (sometimes mid-wash which is an absolute joy) and youll still be charged. The elevator is something out of Final Destination and walking your groceries up 6 flights of stairs is the faster, albeit more knee breaking, option. If your credit score if horrendous, you like over-paying for things, and you dont mind yellow tap water then this is the place for you!
