Staff and maintenance crew are horrible. Ever since the Solomon group took over this complex, it has gone downhill quickly. Glad to be gone.
They have stray cats on the premises which are aggressive that they will do NOTHING about. They switch up rates, fees, and policies without warning or notifying you. Since we moved in (less than a year ago) we had so many broken appliances (even our door) that its not even funny. If you want to pay a high rent for a glorified and over hyped slum lord then be my guest.
I lived in a 2 bedroom unit at the landings for 6 month. The apartment was small but it was nice and clean. The area safe and well lit and my neighbors were super quite. The office staff (Ashley) was always super sweet. I had no problems living here and no maintenance issues. However, before I moved out someone stole my patio chairs and end table. I had moved out 1 month prior and someone must have noticed I wasn’t living in the unit. I wasn’t planning on taking the patio set with me anyways so I was glad that someone has a use for them. I even recommended the Landings to my Friend who also lived here with no issues.Only con to this place is that the room sizes are really really small. My furniture (sectional couch) barely fit in the living room. My unit also had a washer/dryer ( which was super convenient) and it took up most of the closet space. Luckily for me I didn’t have roommates so I used the second bedroom closet.
I have had a really good experience in this apartment community thus far. I have had a few maintenance requests, nothing major, but Mike is just awesome; he is very professional and loves dogs! Courtney and the office staff are always very helpful and super professional! I highly recommend living here. I have not experienced or seen any crime in our community. They keep the grounds clean and tidy! Residents are generally nice if you see them around.
Really good experience here. Maintenance was always on top of fixing issues soon after you call or put a work order in. The grounds are kept up well. Not much to complain about! The only concern I do have is some of the dog owners seem to do whatever they want. We would get email after email about keeping your dogs on leashes at all times and some I felt did whatever they want and didnt abide by this. This made taking our dogs out difficult as they were sometimes roaming our hallway and our dogs were pulled to that attention and it was hard to escape the dogs without them following/running up to us when we were outside. There were however, many dog stations around which is a huge perk - the only thing that could be better about those was if there were places to dispose of the waste near the dog stations. I feel this would increase the likely hood of EVERYONE picking up the waste as oppose to just some due to the dumpsters being quite a ways away from the middle buildings between c and d.Highly recommend living here. They do not have a pool on site but they do down the way at Minges Creek Athletic club - memberships are FREE! Not only do you have access to the pool in the summer you have access to the Gym along with all of the classes for free. BY FAR the nicest place to rent in Battle Creek.
My experience may be different from others. But the staff is harder to get ahold of than hand sanitizer right now! Not very good at communicating.
I came here confident that this would be a nice place to live as I have several colleagues from work that have lived here when first arriving to Battle Creek. The Landings has been an in person recommendation in my company so far as well as through the agents that my company uses for relocation; but not anymore.People at the leasing office were extremely nice until I signed up the lease. It’s been only a month living here and I’ve submitted 5 maintenance complains already with no date for them to be solved. My apartment got flooded because of a leak on the upper apartment, the leasing office notified me saying “it was a minor leak and flood and it only affected my hallway” I did the terrible mistake of telling then I was on vacation (not telling them it was only for the weekend tho) so 4 days later, coming back home I couldn’t access my bedroom because the door was semi closed by 3 big dryer machines operating while bedroom ceiling was falling off. It was late at night so I waited till the next day.1) I didn’t like the fact that they minimized the problem over the phone and not telling me they were installing and running 3 dryers in my bedroom and my bed was covered with ceiling pieces. Bathrooms were also affected by the flood and toilets had brown water spilled all over them. Also not being notified people were coming into my apartment several times during a week, made me feel invaded.2) The property manager has been beyond rude by finding nonsense excuses to address and solve this issue. Ex. “There was a language barrier with the neighbor we couldn’t tell there was a leak”; “We won’t charge you the reparations that we’ll do eventually because I can’t tell you a date but if you were living in a house you’ll have to pay for repairing things so be grateful you’re not paying or have to repair it yourself”.3) It’s been a week from the flood now and I still have no date on them repairing my ceilings, checking on my carpets moistures and humidity. Being clear on next steps but they have uninstalled my apartment’s flood sensor so it won’t beep again.4) Property Manager has been avoiding my calls.• If it was a minor leak, they wouldn’t have to install dryers (3 of them) inside the apartments.• A minor leak doesn’t go within 3 floors (the whole building)• Leaks are something visible, you don’t need to speak a certain language to understand the issue, leasing office is only 2ft away from the apartments with the leak. If you walk and see you can understand it is a leak no matter the language and solve it on time.• There’s no reason to act rude or obnoxious when people are being good neighbors. Worst customer service from a Property Manager I’ve ever encountered.
Been here two years and i am very satisfied. The ladies in the office are all ways nice and attentive and maintenance are all ways there in a timely manner and super nice. I would recommend the landings to anyone looking for a nice place to live.
My family enjoyed our stay at the Landings. Friendly, responsive staff, attractive and clean grounds. For the price I would have expect something more. The kitchen was dated and the windows were drafty. I heard gun shots one evening from a neighboring complex, on occasion a shopping cart would be abandoned on the trail outside my back door. Interesting characters steadily walking by on the trail out the back window. I did not always feel safe. One afternoon kids from the complex next door lit a fire in the woods that spread quickly requiring a call to the fire department...4 stars because a lot of this is not the fault of management. Overall it was a bit uncomfortable.
Great atmoshpere. Friendly staff. The buildings are older, so they come with a few quirks, but the maintenance guys are quick, knowledgeable, and super friendly. Would appreciate some security cameras installed, though.
Pros: Area is good and not a slum-like location compared to the rest of the Battle Creek city. Shopping, restaurants, and library are walking distance. Walk-in closets. They keep their area beautiful and clean. Leasing Agents have good customer service and maintenance is quick.Cons: Too expensive for two bedrooms considering the quality. Kitchen is small and not a lot of counterspace. No counterspace you have no room to prepare for a meal because kitchen gadgets occupies it. Ive used my kitchen table to prepare meals or Id put my gadgets down on the floor to use my counter. Master bathroom is tiny with standing shower, one sink, and you cant fit two people in there. I have two bathrooms with limited storage space. Although it appears neighboring area is safe, this apartment is not kid-friendly (NO PLAYGROUND and my children are very disappointed). NO GYM and POOL. You get one year free membership to Minges Creek Athletic Club. However, the place is dirty (found rat droppings), their pool made me itch (dont think theyve cleaned it), and front desk clerks are idiots.
We have lived here since November 2013 and we have been very happy here! The neighborhood is wonderful, and everyone we have come into contact with has been pleasant. We were really happy to find out that they didnt have a pool or a gym onsite. It seems like anywhere we have lived with a pool onsite, there is always trouble. The gym is always small, and the pool is never kept up, or the noise level is an issue. When you sign a lease - you get a membership at the Minges Creek Athletic Club, which is just across the road. They have a great staff, a large workout room, and they offer classes every night! It has been a great year so far!UPDATE: We are leaving the complex for the sister complex in Kalamazoo in February 2015. We have been extremely satisfied with this apartment complex and are sad to leave! The office staff has been really helpful with the transition process, and has made everything very smooth. We recommend this complex to anyone looking for a nice place to live in the Battle Creek area. I know its pricey - but the living space, and the service makes it well worth your money. We have ZERO complaints for the past two years!
Couldnt ask for a better staff and very supportive to make surr that im happy were I am
Very nice staff, who are always willing to help. Work orders are always done in a timely manner. Grounds and buildings are clean and well cared for.
Overall the experience was good. However, my biggest complaint were the floors. I could hear a lot of what was going on above me. I heard every footstep. I guess thats expected, but this isnt the first apartment complex Ive lived at and Ive never had this problem before.
Been here many many years very friendly staff helpful and understanding just nice .. Maintenence same way respond very quickly to repairs informative knowledgeable even help with personal requests such as hanging pictures etc. How I am treated by the staff and location main ressons I stay
Ive been living here for over 2 years and my only complaint is those pesky Canada geese that congregate in the big pond (the one between Glen Cross and Minges Creek) during the Spring.
