Lauren is the absolute bees knees she makes a new guy living her very comfortable and very nice explains all details ! Would highly recommend her !
Been here a month and I dont have one complaint. Lauren made my moving in process very simple. Shes a joy to work with. I just had a couple of things I needed maintenance to check out and he was here the next day. Also I was surprised about how its so quiet and neighbors are respectful. Im glad I chose to live here.
I read these other reviews and seems like they are unique situations. I loved living at lakeside, moved out a couple years ago but want to come home. I have a couple friends who live out there and they are all happy and love the girls in the office. While visiting, I met a new maintenance guy they just hired in last month and he was super friendly and ready to help in more ways than just what they reported. Was so refreshing to hear him ask if he could take care of anything else before he left, I felt like he really cared about my friends one apartment, amongst many, small genuine gestures like this mean a lot.
If you are looking at 1133 the front door is broken and they will not fix it. Apt 20 the ac is broken and no one cares enough to fix it. There is no power to the outlet and it was like that the year and some months we lived there. The wiring is faulty and half of the plugs do not work. The staff is friendly, but nothing gets fixed.
My boyfriend and I lived here for a year. The apartments themselves are standard and it is relatively quiet. However, do not expect to hear back from the front office or maintenance staff. They do not respond to you and when they do, they drag their feet. Not to mention the security door in the front of the building has not worked and not been fixed in over a year. So anyone off the street can come right in! Super Safe! The staff need to be better about responding to their tenants.
Ive lived here for a year now and the property manager Kimberly M is an amazing woman to work with and deal with. She is very understanding and is doing a finominal job. They are quick to fix a problem when it occurs and she has always had very good communication. Keep up the good work guys !
Ill give them 5 just because I dont live here. I was helping a friend move some furniture.
They sales consultant Lauren is a great. She is professional and very helpful. I didnt think I would get approved but she was encouraging and understanding of my situation. Thanks Lauren!
I am a long time resident and the team we have currently is amazing! Butch is always busy taking care of us, zooming around on their golf cart, and Kim & Lauren in the office are an absolute delight! I feel so comfortable, definitely staying to see what they can accomplish in the next year!!
Although I did not get into an apartment there I would like to just say that Lauren did a great job with the effort, and worked very fast and efficiently to which I wasnt just sitting around wondering about the status of getting a place. She was very knowledgeable and I could immediately tell that she cared about her job
I went in for a tour and the sales consultant was very responsive, pleasant to deal with, and she was able to answer all of my questions about the apartments. Easily one of the better apartment-hunting experiences that I’ve had.
The Sales Consultant is on point and will go out of her way anyway she can. She is quick to respond and VERY nice. I HIGHLY recommend everyone thats looking for an apartment to go through her specifically. She is very understanding and will work really hard to get you what you want. I had a hard time with other complexs because of my Credit and Back ground till I came to Lakeside. Id give her 10 stars if it was possible!!!! Great job fr.
Great place!
Great communication with new management. I love my new apartment. So glad they are pet friendly.
Management at this place is horrible, I called 20 times to get my referral and they ignore you. Ignore emails, these people are worthless and I would never recommend getting an apartment here.
Super nice people and very willing to work with you.Miner phone problems but that doesnt damper their Holiday Spirit..
Lauren is awesome ☺ Maintenance is cool very friendly any issues they take Care of of it quick. I have never had any issues we love it here. 2 yrs. Great community.
Ever since village green took over they have done nothing but raise prices and add fees. Went from paying a flat 830 to almost 900. Almost 30$ in additional fees added on after the fact and then a 30$ raise in rent to be “market value” but they go by square footage because the only thing recently new here is the carpet.Edit: also the review system here is for people that are renting and you probably shouldn’t have your employees posting 5 star reviews. Called conflict of interest and just makes me think you people even less of the team. Guys that fixed my heater and ac are cool though. No pun intended.
One of the few places I would actually consider living in Battle Creek. The apartments are roomy and modern for the price, and most even include washers and dryers. The management team is very professional yet still seem casual and inviting. You can tell they really care about their residents. I definitely recommend Lakeside Apartments for your next move.
Amazing leasing people, friendly neighbors, and beautiful
Lakeside staff- specifically Lauren has been extremely helpful to my mom and I. Lauren consistently goes above and beyond to help the residents here at Lakeside!Dave
First of all, the maintenance staff is a joke. They will lie straight to your face as well as the manager and leasing agent in the front office. Nothing is ever fixed in these apartments. I have personally watched people move out and within a week or so later, theyll move in a new resident. They will move in a new resident without checking the apartment out, repainting the apartment or on occasions, cleaning the carpet. I actually have to fix my own maintenance issues, including buying my own parts at times. Their favorite line is, Ill be right back or Well have to call a contractor. Either way, nothing will happen. The girl in the office, (Rita) will lie straight to your face and if you hold her to her lies, shell get an attitude as if youre bothering her. While this is going on, the manager will sit there listening to everything thats going on and yet say nothing about it. Snow removal is horrible and half done. Also, the pipes in the ceiling will creek and pop all day and night. Its very obvious the boilers arent properly maintained. If they were, this wouldnt happen. At times, its so loud, it sounds like someone it tap-dancing in the ceiling. Again, the maintenance staff is avoiding fixing this. Ive actually warned them that if those pipes bust and ruin my property, we will all find ourselves in court. This place is flat out ridiculous. DO NOT MOVE HERE...PLEASE!!!!
Love these places been renting there for sometime now
Great spaces and wonderful staff. They came in and fixed everything that Ive noted in a timely manner (still waiting on something but it takes multiple trips). If you want a space be sure to get the 3rd floor!
The property could be wonderful with the lake but the geese over take it and leave goose poop. The townhouses need to be torn down, the issues with plumbing and all of the trim, vents, windows, appliances, ac, heat are sooooooooo bad, beyond bad and maintenance is non existence. Water leaked from upstairs bath to kitchen for 2 years and they kept putting spackle up just to have it happen again. The dishwasher ran up into the sink, the plumbing under the sinks leaked everywhere and the floor under it was rotted and broke. Worst place to rent if you expect to have a maintained living space.
1. iv had multiple electrical sockets iv found not seated properly and as such have received shocks. found out after falling and knocking the socket cover loose exposing the unseated improperly done work, iv wounder why iv Ben getting shocked. only reason i found out is after i fell trying to fix my ceiling fan as the little chain on the switch to the fan itself came off. i knocked over my i mac witch knocked the plastic off the socket showing us the problem and finally finding out why i kept getting zapped.2. for the third time in less then a year our dish washer stopped working, and i can imagine like each time its going 3 to 4 months before we will get a response,3. i the resident asked for what insurgence company they have when they bundle it in with the lease, they wouldnt tell me but they told my friend no problem and best part is he dosent live here.due to being someone with mental disability im starting to get the idea they think they can just tell us what they want but when someone calls who is coincided normal needing same questions answers they seem to conduct themselves very professionally, and give the info even if they themselves are not a resident.in conclusion through experience living hear i find that, the residents are cool and pretty welcoming, how ever the staff seem to almost discriminate against those who are like myself and my roommate, maybe im wrong and this is just a misfortune string of coincidences, but rn, i find it hard to believe.
Currently working here as a Sales Consultant, and I love it! I work with great people, and the management is wonderful. Another plus...I get to work with our current/future residents while enjoying the lake view.
I have lived at Lakeside Apartments for six years and the management team that they now have in place is awesome, the maintenance team is very timely and professional. With this new ownership and management in place, Lakeside Apartments will continue to be one of the best places to live in Battle Creek.
A truly great place to live and wonderful people whom work there! Weve lived here for awhile now and the manager is so kind and willing to do whatever it takes to make sure things are right, the office girl is super sweet & understanding. Maintenance has also been great! You can tell these people care! The lake with the kayaks are awesome, the deck out back and volleyball court are some of my favs. Our home is HUGE and perfect for our family and trust me we looked what felt like everywhere, but didn’t feel “at home” like we do here. Best decision we made coming to Lakeside!
Since the Village Green management took over the complex has gone down fast. You use to be able to put in a maintenance request online, now you have to wait until the office is open, I work during the office hours so I am never able to put in a request. On top of that, the apartment use to come with utilities included, now all utilities are now an extra expense, which increased the rent quite significantly.
Office staff is very friendly and helpful! Some of the larger apartments I have found in Battle Creek!
I have lived here for a little over a year. Everyone who works in the office is very incompetent. No one answers the phone and and they are never open when they say they are. I have been beyond patient with the unethical living conditions while trying to raise a newborn. I lived in an apartment without out a working fridge and microwave for 6 months plus and had to throw out thousands of dollars of groceries. I had to time 15 complaints over a couple months to be them to even respond back to me. I havent received any compensation like they promised me. Also the majority of tenants living on the properties are loud and ghetto and obnoxious.Would not recommend coming within spitting distance of this place .
Seems to be an amazing place, and after looking at the reviews then seeing it for myself (cant wait to move in) I must say this truly is one of the greatest apartment complexes that Ive seen in Battle Creek, and is a thousand steps up from my previous place (and that wasnt too shabby either) 10 out of 10 IGN
Helped a friend move a couch here.
Moved into a completely redone apartment all new everything, when my washer broke it took awhile to get replaced but they gave me a 50 dollar credit on my rent because I wasnt able to use it for a month. Very easy to work with and very easy to get ahold of. I love living here I think the only downfall is its very expensive to have get a pet. Its like 300 extra down for a dog and 20 extra on tent per dog or cat
Great place
Went in for just a tour and afterwards we filled out what we thought was just information about ourselves so we could be in further contact about applying and signing a lease. It turns out we filled out an application and when we were done they said we owed them $80 without ever stating what the forms were. It was then expressed to us that the only way to reserve an apartment was to put down a deposit. Its definitely just a fee. When we changed our minds about the apartment they refused to give us our deposit because even though they told us when we went it that it was a security deposit that it was actually a holding deposit which they told me after the fact was nonrefundable. They never told me that I could not get my money back when we were in the office and they pretty much told us too bad. Then when I requested to speak to their corporate office they said the only way of contacting them was through email. Well I wanted to speak to someone and let them know of the deceitful service the people in their office were providing. They have given me the runaround by acting like they are trying to help me but they just keep telling me I can talk to the manager, who was the one who decided to leave out all the details about what was really going on. His name is Christian and he is sneaky. Basically, because he left out several points of important information two young newlyweds are out $430. They are sneaky and deceitful and underhanded and stole our money. I would recommend that no one lives here and dont be taken in by their fake charm. They are just trying to get money out of you. They praised their customer service and their apartments while we were there but they will refuse to take responsibility for the bad way that their business is run.
Not a good place to live staff doesn’t care at all. I moved out early because of a job transfer I was told a price that I needed to pay to break my lease so I paid it had an email for like $1800 and they said it was okay to pay $1300 until they sent me a letter for all the charges I never got a letter from them and they never even tried to contact me at all about the other part. So instead of owing them $500 it was over $800 and I contacted them telling them I never got the letter I was told that was gonna email me and told them that price isn’t right the girl I was talking to EVEN SAID that doesn’t add up and was gonna look into it and call me back she never did so I’m suck paying over $800 no thanks to them
I have lived here for almost a year. When I first moved in I was hoping for a ground floor apartment as I had a baby, now toddler. I got an apartment on the 3rd floor so I have to carry my child up 3 sets of stairs, along with groceries and whatever. No it’s not the fault of the apartment, I had a short time to plan and needed somewhere to go so I took the apartment on the 3rd floor. It had brand new carpet in it which was nice. When I moved in immediately the first day 2 lights went out. I never lived in an apartment building before so I didn’t know if it was my issue to handle or the maintenance, so I went and asked the office. I was rudely told it was my responsibility to change the light bulbs. I understood and moved on. I noticed how sloppy the work done to the apartment to refresh it from the previous tenants was. The paint job is all over the outlets and door trim. Cabinets and kitchen counters scratched dented banged up. I made no fuss about it. It’s fine. The dish washer is so used and warn down that it is the equivalent of splashing water on your dishes, it does nothing. The dryer is so used and warn in that you have to run the dry cycle 2 and a half times for an average size load of laundry to dry, and it’s loud. The bath tub and the sink must be so clogged up from the previous tenants because from day one the water does not drain as should. I constantly have to plunge my bathtub and bathroom sink to make the water go down. In a 10 minutes shower there is water up to my mid calf. People in the halls all day and all night are constantly slamming doors. I mean some noise is to be expected when you live with mass amounts of people in the same building. But the amount of door slamming day and night shakes your whole apartment. Neighbors across the hall tend to blare loud music with a heavy bass. People at night go to there cars and blare heavy bass music in the parking lot that shakes your windows. The screen is falling out of a few of my windows. The heat in my apartment has gone out 2 times. Both during snow and ice storms this winter. The first time it was off for 2 to 3 days and I had to stay with relatives. When it got fixed the heat would turn on but not shut off. So it was 90 in my apartment for a little. The heaters running along the bottoms of the walls are dented and falling apart and occasionally have to be fiddled with to be put back together. All night long all you can hear if it’s not someone blaring there car radio in the parking lot or doors slamming, is the constant sound of rushing water and dripping pipes in the walls. Now I can deal with all of this like I have been for nearly a year. But for the price I don’t agree. I pay $800 plus renter insurance and my electric every month for a 2 bedroom apartment. For this. They try to sell you on the fact that you live on a lake. When in reality, no you don’t, you live on a duck pond. They try and sell you on amenities, but some don’t work adequately. As far as the gym, the disc golf, the “lake”, the volleyball net, etc. that’s nice and all but they are not useful, and mean nothing to me. Not the apartments fault, I choose not to use them. I also know the apartments have gone under new management recently. Employees are different then when I moved in. From when I have spoken to them they seem nicer than the previous. I also give them the benefit of the doubt that they are stuck with the problems that the previous manager and employees didn’t resolve. But I pay $800 and renters insurance and my electric. When it’s no different than the arbors, just less of a pot smell and on a duck pond. I would understand if it was in a really good, safe, clean, desirable area. But you can hear gun shots and police sirens all the time from less than a mile up the road in post edition. So what am I paying this much for? My honest opinion, if you don’t live here it’s not absolutely horrible but I wouldn’t recommend it. I don’t plan on renewing my lease in a few months when it’s up. I wish the best of luck to the new management and employees now running the apartments.
Lived here for two years. I hated it. The worst thing had to have been the heat never working in the winter. All winter long (especially the second year) I sat in my almost $900 a month apartment covered in layers of clothes robes, heated blankets and even gloves and could see my breath. Maintenance would always take days to get there and fix it and then it would be broken again In a couple days. This also happened constantly to my friend in another building. The people in the office pretend to wanna help you but none of them know what theyre doing. They once gave us a notice that we wouldnt be able to park in our carport for a month but we still had to pay! They only care about money. All our appliances were terrible. The buildings were always disgusting. The neighbors are loud. But the actual apartments themselves are fine.
I love the Lake
Has a problem with drug addicts wandering through the parking lots and breaking into vehicles. I opted out of taking my business there.
So cozy and friendly
I lived there for one year. I was told the reason for the high rent cost was because heat was included in rent, however I had to cover all electric costs. the heat was electric so actually I am paying for it. I was lied to right to my face. the apartment does not have central air like the others in the area, instead it had a block ac unit that only cooled the living room where it was located. the bed rooms were never cooled. the lake it has is not swimmable. I fount the people managing the apartment were unethical. on three separate occasions, I called about issues and said I would stop by the office and when I got there it was closed hours before the office was supposed to close and on one incident I was told they would be right back to the office and I got there when they said they would be there and the guy was sitting in his truck while I was waiting outside the office. I waited 15 min outside and then went and sat in the car. The guy was looking right at me. I waited another half hour then drove around the office building just to see the guy locking the office when I got back around. It seemed like he was waiting for me to go away to avoid taking care a dripping a.c. unit. There are a lot of coworkers that lived there and no longer do, because of the poor quality of the apartments and high price. There is a no smoking policy in the apartment but no one abides by it and there is nothing done about it, so nonsmokers will constantly smell of an ash tray. I do not recommend this place.
Maintenance could be more timely
Cant say it was the best place I ever lived if something broke it took them for ever to fix it
Awesome place to live!! Little pricey but most definitely worth it.
My apartment and carpet had not been cleaned when I moved in. The corporate manager Chris was rude about correcting that for me. He sent the cleaning service back over and they still didnt clean it. I spent hours cleaning it myself to which I came across a hardened barbeque/ketchup stain in my kitchen drawer and trimmed hairs and make-up in my bathroom drawers. The cabinets under the sinks of the kitchen and bathroom were decaying and they didnt care to fix that. The bottom cabinets in the kitchen were very worn as if a child had been clawing at them for years and they didnt care to replace that either. Overall a bad experience, but it is currently under new management so your experience may be different. On the upside all appliances are very new and work well.
I was very impressed wow that Office is amazing I almost ask to rent that :) When shown the many models of available apartments I became clear to me this is where I wanted to live.
Renter beware. All they care about is your money. Bedbugs all over the complex. You have been warned. Nithing but hassles and everything falling apart.
Scam artist dont have set rent the Bayshore run done as much as I can get you to pay.
Unethical Behavir and managment Practices!!! Im About to call Every Media channel and Outlet I can to Compleain and EXPOSE THEM!!! SMH...So Unprofessional...Yet Arent Doing their jobs..and making the tenants PAY for their Mistakes...!!! Im About To SUE YOU LAKESIDE!!! So watch Your Mail!
They will tell you they will be suing you for mistakes they have done and never show up to court. Also if you want nothing fixed when it brakes, this is the place for you.
Lakeside gives you a beautiful view of the lake and its very quite and peaceful here.
Great place to live. Only complaint neighbors can be very loud
Very beautiful apartments and friendly people.
Hard to get answers
