I had a horrible experience at Poplin dentistry. I left in tears. My baby can barely latch and my supply has dropped drastically. I so desperately want to solely breastfeed. He had weight gain issues in the beginning due to shallow latch, thus why I started supplementing. Let me just say I am FULLY aware that a revision does not mean instant fix, i know I would have to work tirelessly with an LC. It would be an easier way to correct nursing, post revision with some hard work.Dr Popplin said there was no issue. He had a STAGE 3 lip tie and STAGE 2 tongue tie. But yet there was no issue?. He said since he doesn’t have any speech issues now, there is no use in doing it. And that he cannot guarantee it would help nursing. I know it wouldn’t fix it. It would certainly help. Here I am telling him my struggles and issues and he sees it not necessary. He also harped on the fact that he was so tight and stiff. You can look anywhere and know that releasing ties would help that.... Seems like he’s never done infant ties before. He told me he didn’t feel COMFORTABLE doing it. Then you shouldn’t be in the dentistry business if you don’t feel comfortable helping babies. I paid $100 for him to tell me he didn’t feel comfortable

Dr. Poplin has seen 3 of my nieces since they were little. When I moved to the Austin area, he became my daughters doctor too. He is kind, patient, and always makes sure he listens to all concerns. Im so glad to know that he is our family dentist now too. I dont want to leave anyone out. I also love his staff. They do a great job getting everything ready for the visit. Thank you!!!

My husband and I had a great experience with Dr. Poplin and his staff. They were all very kind and helpful. Dr. Poplin made sure all our questions were answered and that we understood all of the procedure and after care. I would recommend him for anyone who is considering releasing a tongue or lip tie.

Today, August 24th, was the first day of taking my daughter who has special needs, to see Dr. Poplin at Poplin Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Poplin was so sweet, patient and gentle with her. In the past, my daughter would have mini melt downs because she did not like to have her mouth looked at and we would have to papoose her. Well, she is too old and big for that, and I feared that going to the dentist would make us both anxious. My daughter and I had nothing to fear She was a bit apprehensive at first but calmed right down when Dr. Poplin counted her teeth and checked them. Dr. Poplin and his staff were wonderful. Dr. Poplin and staff were incredible! I really appreciate the knowledge and expertise Dr. Poplin has about tongue ties and how they can impact chewing, breathing, swallowing, and sleep, and cause neck/jaw/shoulder discomfort and pain, among other issues, for children and adults alike. By addressing my grade 3 tie (4 being the most restrictive), I can look forward to breathing better, which leads to improved sleep, mood, and focus. Getting adequate oxygen and nitric oxide is so important, and we don’t get enough if we’re not breathing well in and out of our noses! I’m also hoping my chronic shoulder, neck, and jaw pain will significantly improve or, better yet, vanish completely once I have my tongue tie released. Youre going through a lot as a newborn mom, let alone when it comes to potential tongue ties with your newborn child.My son had a very severe tongue and lip tie that was missed by BOTH his lactation consultant and his pediatrician during his early newborn hospital and two-week evaluations.My intuition told me that my son may have a tongue tie, but I went along with medical advice until about 4 weeks postpartum, when frustration at the breast and restless nights for my son (and very painful nursing sessions for me) led me to look for another evaluation. I trusted my gut and reached out to Dr. Poplin for a consult, and I am forever grateful that I did.Not only were Dr. Poplin and his team incredible from start to finish, but they took care of my son as if he was their own!Dr. Poplin is a true expert when it comes to frenectomies, but he also went above and beyond in doing a thorough examination, explained everything in detail (in language that was easy to relate to!), and took time to make sure both my husband and I were comfortable with everything before he proceeded.The procedure itself took less than 10 minutes, and the difference in my nursing sessions before and after my sons lip and tongue frenectomies were honestly like NIGHT and DAY. (I used to dread nursing sessions given how painful they were, and literally 5 minutes after his surgery, my son nursed pain-free!)I now have a happy little 8 week old who breastfeeds (and sleeps!) like a champ, and I KNOW I couldnt have done it without Dr. Poplin.Please dont think twice when it comes to choosing Dr. Poplin. Dr Poplin and his staff are amazing! They took wonderful care of my 8 month old son when he came in for a frenectomy. Very little wait time and the procedure was fast. Dr Poplin took time to explain everything to us before and after the procedure. I highly recommend this practice!

Dr. Poplin and his staff were a pleasure. I took my toddler to his office for a consultation, and Dr. Poplin took his time to explain everything in detail. I felt like my concerns were listened to and taken into account, in addition to him and his team being very knowledgeable.

Dr. Poplin and his was very caring, thorough and gentle with my 2 month old son who had a lip tie. They asked very detailed questions and really cared about all symptoms and circumstances of our issue. Great Dr and staff. Went to see him for a second opinion on frenectomies for my 1yo. He is actually the only peds dentist I found to have knowledge of all the important puzzle pieces to my sons case. Our speech pathologist found some things related to frenulums but also mentioned other factors that could play a big role in speech delay with my son specifically, and the only Dr who knew and validated those was Dr. Poplin. So if you want a quality, knowledgeable, straight forward and objective Dr. go to him. He gives you all the information (in simple words) with realities and research backed perspectives, as well as what he thinks will probably be the best option for each individual case. Not a one size fits all kind of mentality which I loved. Highly recommend.

I just love this practice. Everyone there is so nice and helpful. All the doctors are knowledgeable and have a great “bedside” manner. They worked with me on scheduling, got me in and out, no problems at all!!!

This place is amazing! If i could give it ten stars I would. The service was by far the best Ive ever experienced. The waiting room has videogames and toys for the kids to distract themselves with while you fill out paperwork. Everyone was so friendly. The front desk lady was extremely sweet and accommodating, she even helped my son figure out how to play with the controllers. The Dental Assistants were thorough and patient, they did their jobs efficiently while making the Dentist office not seem like such a terrible place for a 3 year old. My son loved it! And that says a lot coming from a toddler. Dentist Poplin was very friendly, great with kids and professional. He knew exactly what he was doing and created the best treatment plan for my son. I am very picky when it comes to Dentists and I will tell you there was not one flaw I found here. I love this place and will be back! Highly recommend!!!

Dr. Poplin has taken great care of my children’s teeth so when he moved from our hometown to Austin, 6 hrs away, there was never a doubt in my mind that we needed to make the effort to continue seeing him. It’s difficult to find doctors that take the time to thoroughly examine you, explain procedures when you need them, and teach you how to take care of your health. He does all of these things and more. He doesn’t just take the time to explain it to my husband and myself, he also explains everything to my children. Dr. Poplin and the staff make you feel comfortable, genuinely care about their patients, and provide the very best care. Before proceeding with any treatment or procedure, everything is explained, all questions are answered, and I know that I am making an informed decision. During the procedure, I am with my children as it happens, and Dr. Poplin will ask my children if they are okay until all is completed. He doesn’t rush and takes his time with each patient. Dr. Poplin and all of the staff also take the time to develop a relationship with you - you are treated as family not a patient. I highly recommend Dr. Poplin and his staff - you won’t find a better place to go to!

I am so thankful Dr. Poplin sees adults to take care of lip, cheek and tongue ties. I had mine taken care of and the pressure I felt in my face for years is gone. (I can tell this allergy season will be easier on me, yea!) I also see how the tie was associated to gum recession and know this will save me a lot of money in the future. (other dentist have told me the recession was from braces which is not the case)Dr. Poplin has a heart of gold and a passion for the long term health of his patients. As a mother of children with special needs, finding the right healthcare providers is tricky. Our third time was a charm. Dr. Poplin and his staff go above and beyond and make it all look so effortless. Dr. Poplin is incredibly patient even when having his fingers chomped on. Never once has he said, Ouch. I certainly wouldnt be able to do that. I recommend his practice to everyone looking for pediatric dentistry.

As a Dentist myself and a foster mother, I would give Dr. Poplin and his team 10 stars if it were possible. Their entire team is professional, helpful, skilled and most importantly kind. Dr. Poplin and his team has risen to every challenge weve thrown at them, with patience beyond measure. Dr. Poplin uses the newest technology and the practice itself is comfortable. The front team works diligently accommodating our schedule, which is no small feat. The assistants are wonderful with children. I completely trust Dr. Poplin and his entire team as a Dentist and as a Mom. 5 stars all the way!!!

I like Dr. Poplin but did not care about his hygienist, who was very inconsiderate and even rude. On a very first visit to the dentist, my 6 y.o. daughter has had 2 baby teeth being extracted. My daughter was exemplifying her best behavior on that day. She was in pain and emotionally in shock and I hold her in my arms (after the procedure) sitting on the sofa, next to their coffee table with the little prize- toys for kids. She saw us and mandated to check out immediately as one of the receptionist must go to lunch and we must pay on the spot. I tried to give her my credit card and asked for 5 minutes, but she declined that option. She literally rushed us out of the clinic and it was so unprofessional. As a parent, I expected that she would say something nice to us to help my daughter to deal with the stage of shock and but she went the other way around.I have other appointments being scheduled for my son and now I am so hesitant to go if we run into the same person.I wanted to connect with Dr. Poplin to address this concern, but he did not return my call. This is why I am posting it here. I do not feel that they really care about patients.On one hand, everything went well, but the aftertaste is still horrible.

Dr. Poplin lasered my 2 year olds lip tie off... He made a very scary experience very quick and easy. I appreciated how honest, straightforward and informative he was. I like to know all the facts- it makes me feel more at ease knowing exactly whats going on. He has all the latest equipment and is very knowledgeable about what he does. Definitely recommend!
