Such an amazing staff at this Pep Boys! I had a flat tire, the team came out to my car immediately and patched my tire quickly! While I was waiting they gave me an estimate on new tires. They made the experience wonderful and I will be going back!

Took my brand new Porsche here after I got a nail in my tire. The staff immediately came out and greeted me, took a look at my tire and had it patched up in about 30 minutes, and did it for free. Highly recommend this location for quick, good work. Thanks guys!

The underside of my car started making noise and I was concerned it was going to lead to a large expense. Took it over to Pep Boys, and Robert let me know it was likely the heat shield coming loose, and he fixed it on the spot in all of 5 minutes, and when I prepared to pay for his services, he told me payment was not necessary. Its rare to see such generosity in a commercial enterprise, thank you, Robert!

The staff are professional, knowledgeable and polite. The only pepboys location I use. Loses one star because prices are usually a bit higher than other shops in the area for major repairs. For oil changes, tires, other basic car needs the prices are fair.

I had an awesome experience here thanks to the manager Eddie! He was able to get me a quick same day appointment, and was clear about prices and timing for multiple services. I had a recommendation for one of the services from a different auto shop, and Eddie and his team ran a test to double check if I needed it. Turned out I didnt which saved me some money. I appreciate the honesty and transparency. Will definitely be back!

In my opinion, a smaller shop like this one tends to do better repairs than most bigger shops. They have less cars to worry about, so lesser chances of mistakes.

I had a great experience at this location today. At the end of the day my main concern is that my car gets fixed and that mechanics are honest and straight forward with me. This location checked both of those boxes but, I give them 5 stars because theyre also very pleasant folks to do business with. I brought my car in a bit early and went to run errands. They were super fast in calling me back with the issue and the fix. They gave me a price and an estimated amount of time (which was really fast) and I was out the door. Cant say how much I appreciate polite service in this industry. Thanks.

Beware of these guys. My A/C went out and they diagnosed the issue and charged me $110 for telling me what it was. Then they quoted me $290 for parts and labor to replace a the blower motor Telling me this would fix the issue. I took it back 3 weeks later since they had to order the part. Everything was fine until I asked for the total and Dave the manager told me it was going to be $560. I was shocked and asked why is it different than the original quote. I said you guys should have the quote on file, right? He said “do you have it in writing?” At this point I felt he was being shady and told him I did not need it in writing since they just quoted me a few weeks ago and I called the Honda dealership and they quoted me about the same price as the $290. I continued to argue with him and he said I’ll have the mechanic take out the blower Motor then. He was rude and had an attitude at this point. I said I want to pay the original amount or I am calling the pep boys across the street to get a quote. He said I am not doing it for $200. So we hung up and I called the pep boys across the street. What do you know? It’s only $290 and they can do it the same day. I called back and told Dave their quote and he rushed off the phone and said let me see what I can do. Calls me back in 20 min saying I’m so sorry the system messed up blah blah. He was being deceiving and unethical. He then tells me the new Total is $285. This is the type of shop that will prey on people they feel are stupid. They Probably take advantage of young people and women. I am 27 years old and he thought he could treat me like an idiot. I am not the idiot here, Dave.

Excellent service, great Master Mechanic, much better than the old Pep Boys Store at 3909 S Lamar. They actually listen to you, then find and fix your car problems. Different story and approach at 3909 S Lamar Blvd Pep Boys, they send you away (or cancel your appointment) and hope you wont come back another day! I highly recommend this location for all of your car care and repairs.

Came in for an oil change they got it done quick and with no issues. They also explained to me why they were unable to rotate my tires, they said company policy was the good tires need to stay in the back to help keep the car from spinning out. They also suggested two tires but I declined and they gave me a quote to take home with me.

Worst experience ever. Bought four tires from them, came back a few months later and they cant rotate/balance them. The whole thing is very confusing. Front desk is rude, perhaps because I didnt bring a male with me. The two times I came in before I did bring a male and they were delightful. Not today, the old man wouldnt even look up at the counter. Ill never go back.

Overall a terrible experience that wasted most of my Saturday. The folks that work here were friendly, but the results were dismal. Call in advance to schedule an appointment they told me would take an hour. I was headed out of town, so it was pretty time sensitive. Took car in, they said no problem, 45min to an hour. Got some food across the street and came back in an hour - and nothing had been done. They told me their two lifts that worked on a car as low as mine were broken. They are not affiliated with the other Pep Boys at all, so they couldnt help. They told me they could do it one tire at a time, but it would take 2-3 hours. I told them that was fine, and that I needed it about 4 hours from then. I left, only to get a call three hours later that the tire machine they were using broke and they could not complete the job. Literally nothing had been done to the car four hours later, leaving me at 3pm on a Saturday to try and find another shop to help me. They were of no assistance finding another one, so wound up not being able to get the job done on time, needed to uber back and forth from home to deal with the car. Not a very good outcome.I get it - stuff can break - but they had my phone number, why not tell me right away rather than not inform me - twice - of the problems at the last minute no less.

These guys seem real shady. I brought my company truck here because we have an account with Pep Boys. I’ll have a talk with my boss. I asked for brakes on the front and the guy said he was going to put new rotors on also without even looking to see if I needed new rotors.

I took my vw beetle 1967 for 4 brand new expensive tires, but the weights they use to balance the wheels fell off so took it back and ask them to fix it but an old skinny man that works at the front desk told me very rudely that I did not make an appointment so I had to wait 4 day for they had a very busy schedule, I try to make him understand it was not my falut, that was something they did wrong and they had to fix it but he just turned around and left the place...this guy believes he is a big shot and he can treat people the way he wants...I aint going back to beg for their service, I rather prefer to go somewhere else and pay for a fair treatment, maybe someone else will appreciate my money and preference

I wasnt going to leave a review but Im a young woman and thought I should leave one for the other young people out there worried about finding a shop that wont lie to them.I got an oil change here back in August of 2107 (6/28/17) to be exact- why such a long time to write a review? Well, let me tell you!The oil change was fine- we were driving from Austin to Florida so I stopped in to get a change before the big trip- J.C. helped us out and he was very polite and informative. He told us our tires were in the yellow/warning section of tire ware- and had less than an inch of tread on them and would need to be replaced soon- but it wasnt a big deal, just a heads-up.He said 2 of the tires showed a single strand of steel but they should hold us until we can get new tires- the steel was because we needed an alignment, but once aligned the tires should last a while. We declined the alignment (not enough funds at the time) and J.C. kindly said that was fine.Everything seemed to be good-to-go until right before we were about to pay for our oil change and leave- Scott Mitchell (also known as Tiny) showed up and began telling us all four of our tires were So bad, you wont make it outside of Austins city limits let alone to Florida. and that Itd be illegal for you to drive out of here with tires like that.My father was a car junkie and I know my way around a car- hearing this set an alarm off in my head. My boyfriend was with me at the time and the look on his face said the same thing- something isnt right.I asked if I could go look at my car in the shop- they allowed it so I inspected the tires myself since it was up in the air- J.C. went with me and pointed out what hed said before- though he seemed to become meek and deflated.I noticed the two tires that were showing steel were in the front- so I asked him if we could simply pay for a tire rotation so at least the 2 worse of the 4 tires were in the back.J.C. nervously told us its against company policy to put bad tires in the back- and that company policy dictates the worst tires should be up front. That right there told me to high-tail it and RUN it doesnt matter how stupid you are with cars its common sense not to put bad tires in the front- the front controls where you steer!I told him Really? Company policy tells you to always put the worst tires in the front? and he said yes- so I told him not to worry about it- that my boyfriend and I would rotate the bad tires to the back ourselves since we had the tools to do so.When I told him that, he told me he would do it anyway, even though its against company policy. if we insisted.REALLY? If its company policy there is no But Ill do it anyway that was another warning.I had my boyfriend stand by the car because at this point I didnt trust this shop then went back inside to pay for the oil change so we could leave when I had to face-off with Scott Mitchell again. He told me: Id rather comp your oil change and get you to buy new tires than have you blow a tire before you make it out of Austin.Comping an $80 oil change (which shouldnt have even been $80 but thats a WHOLE other story) for about $500 worth of tires doesnt sound like a deal- it sounds like a sales pitch. Thats exactly what he was trying to sell us- almost $500 worth of tires.I told Scott I wasnt prepared to pay $500 for tires- were heading out on a trip and I would take my chances, and thanked him for the heads up about the bad tires. I paid full price for the oil change and finally escaped. Its MARCH now, Scott- thats 7 months of driving to/from Florida and all over creation. We might just be lucky- but my tires havent given me a single problem, Im replacing them this week- and it reminded me of your shop.If you have policies, stick to them- regardless. If you see someone whos young- (Man or woman) dont assume they know nothing about cars.Be honest and dont try to act like youre doing us a favor when youre actually trying to needle us for a sale.
