These guys are great! I took my car into the shop thinking I had an exhaust issue (if only). Not only were they able to quickly determine the real cause, a stolen catalytic converter, but they were extremely helpful. The pointed out the damage done, gave me their quote, gave me a recommendation, keep my car extremely clean and were professional the entire time.While I didn’t end up having them replace the part I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them on how I was treated alone. I will certainly end up taking my vehicles back there. While all the employees were great, Andy (if memory serves correctly) was a treasure!

This shop was recommended to me years ago when I moved back to Austin. I now recommend them to others. Professional, honest, and as a woman it is awesome that I do not feel like I am treated any different then anyone else. Ive been going here for years. These guys are great! Very professional and super competent. One time I got a quote from Firestone over $89 to switch out a light bulb in the front of my car, as they were projecting 2h of body work to do it. I went over to Andy instead and, with one elegant arm movement, he did the work for under $20 including the bulb :-)

These. Are. My. Guys!Was in the middle of my route of flower deliveries and going South on IH 35 nearing Stassney when the car in front of me hit a traffic safety cone (rubber) in the middle of the lane. I ran over it as well. Thought my car was driving ok after but could hear a weird scraping noise. Got to my next delivery and I noticed the wheel well liner, a plastic guard, was bent and scraping against my front left wheel. I couldnt bend it back in place. Drove it over to my guys at Austin Automotive on Wm Cannon to see if they could take a quick look to see if they could fix it. They took it in, put it back into place, and had me on the road back to my next deliveries within 15ish minutes, no charge (said I bring in business) and said it looked beat up but would stay in place. I threw a little $ and a rose in office there and drove off a happy customer. Been going to them for years and theyve always had my back...a good feeling when youve found your trusty mechanics!

Everyone was helpful and polite. When I got under my truck to look at the work I noticed it was very beat up. Looks like a pipe wrench was sure to tighten parts. I know this has just happened due to the steel having no corrosion. So far it works fine but for the price I expected it to be done a lot cleaner. Dropping 3k on front end work I shouldn’t have to clean up the torn up parts myself.

I love this place but I get a bit suspicious when Im being sold on more work.

My catalytic converter was stolen. Received a call with a detailed estimate from Andy shortly after my car was towed to the shop. Andy located the replacement part at a great value and did the work for less than the average cost. Great customer service, great work. Would recommend to others.

After being told by Tires to You that my Trailblazer was unable to be aligned, even after buying a new tire to insure correct measurements, I called and was able to get a same day appointment at Austin Automotive Specials. An hour and a half later I was given a computer read out of the perfectly aligned front wheels, totally within Specs, and driving out under $100.Thanks Guys. Youve made my Day.

Took my truck yesterday to have them check out why my brakes went completely out. Another shop had diagnosed it properly, but I trust Austin Automotive more.Sure enough, it was related to a big recall for F150s and they did the research for me and even printed the documentation so I can take it to the dealer.Oh, and Austin Automotive didnt charge me a dime even though they took time to diagnose as well as keeping my truck overnight.That is a lot more than I can say about the other shop I took it too. I only went to this other shop because it was the closest place when my brakes started failing. They charged me several hundred plus let me drive away, probably knowing that it would happen again.

They get all of my vehicles together whenever I bring them in. My husband I have used then for years. They dont beat around the bush. They reccomend stuff that other mechanics never bring up, however its important to me. The prices for their work is fair. Overall, wonderful customer service and quality work.

Austin automotive is honestly the only place in Austin I really trust to take my cars. If I just need an oil change sure jiffy lube or whatever will do. But when Ive had serious issues that need real work I trust Andy (the manager) and his crew more than anyone else in town. They tell me what I need to do, what I could do, and what would be nice but isnt urgent. They shot straight and fair and thats hard to find in mechanics.

Austin Automotive specialists provided the best customer-service experience of any automotive shop, and really any place in general, that I’ve ever experienced. Justin and Andy took great care of us, were incredibly communicative, honest about our repairs, recommended us to another great local place in town. They worked with us getting our vehicle towed to the shop after regular hours and messaged us the next morning before even opening about the status of our repairs. Brought in my 2007 Pontiac Solstice when the water pump gave out and they did a great job replacing it. It wasnt a cheap fix but they were up front about the work it needed, and gave an accurate estimate of both the time required and the cost of the repair. The engine is now back to running at the proper temp, and has been for a few weeks now. Im happy with the service and would go back to them for any future services I cant do myself.

This team is great. They might not be the cheapest place to go, but you can rest assured you’re not buying parts you don’t need and paying for labor not incurred. They care about their customers. Andy and Justin at the front are friendly, honest, and respectful. They even spent extra time trying to fix a broken tail light free of charge. Ive used this AAS location about 5 times and Im satisfied with their work. Being satisfied is no easy task for me since I do most of my own car repair and have high expectations in the quality of repair. But there are a few things (alignment, A/C) for which I dont have the equipment. Thats when I use AAS. The work has been very good - no comebacks for me. And their service advisors are car knowledgeable, unlike the desk jockeys they use at many dealerships and garages.

I have been a customer here for many years now. The staff is so friendly and accommodating and makes sure that your needs are met in a timely manner. They make it so easy to trust them. I just recently had my oil changed here and was in and out in about 40 minutes (with an appointment). I have never had a negative experience here and will continue to come back!

Had to get my car towed after a little fender bender and my car wouldnt start, but it turned out to be a quick fix. Guy named Andy helped me out, real friendly, after telling him what happened he looked a couple things up asked a few questions and turns out it was just the fuel shut off. Took less than 10 minutes and was free of charge

This place is awful. I’ve been there twice and both times they tried to misdiagnose and overcharge. On both occasions, I got second opinion with a cheaper and better solution.They will try to convince you the problem is bigger than it is and they will overcharge you for the parts necessary to fix it. It is crazy hard to find a shop that is honest, well trained, clean and responsive. So I wont take my truck or Jeep anywhere else but here. Theyre not the cheapest or the most expensive. But quality work and honest employees are priceless. The booking website is easy to use too.

Andy nearly bit my head off when trying to use the warranty from previous work from another place. I trusted them until now. I merely was going to use a $730 credit card payment from a warranty company ( they were going to give him the payment via credit card on the phone) and I would cover the remaining costs but Andy blew up thinking I wanted only strut mounts done. I wanted them to do what they wanted ( the whole 2 struts) but he misunderstood thinking that I only wanted strut mounts. I’ve been in sales all my life and never dealt with this before. The fact is that they are super busy because everyone is recovering from COVID. Professionalism goes a long way and I cannot say this place is professional after being yelled at over the phone. I have had $11,000 of work done on my vehicle in 3 years time and never have had this issue with any place I have dealt with. Get your facts straight before yelling at customers Andy. 0 stars if I could.

I have been coming to this location for years now for whatever my car needs. I wouldn’t go anywhere else unless my car just needs something that they don’t offer. Everyone I’ve encountered there is super friendly and professional, but I usually see Andy and Justin there most often and they are the nicest guys. They seem to know all of their clients and they will remember you and ask you about yourself a lot of the time which is personal and lovely, I think. It feels like participating in local business more than just entrusting your vehicle to people you don’t know. I know they’ll always deliver excellent service—even go above and beyond. They stay pretty busy there because they do good work and are all around efficient and effective (I recommend calling ahead for appointments because of this or you really can’t guarantee there won’t be others ahead of you).

I needed my brakes fixed on short notice and these guys were able to get me in! I’m not very car savvy but they managed to explain things to me in a way that made sense and didn’t try to overcharge me or take advantage of my ignorance. Will definitely be coming back!

I’ve been to this place three times and I’m concerned now. I notice a pattern about taking my car there. First time I took my car there, everything was fine so I was happy with the oil change service and wanted to come back again. The second time was simple but a week later, I suddenly needed a brake job so I had my rear brake pads replaced. I didn’t think anything of it so I just took my car to the same place for oil change and suddenly I was told that I needed front brake pad replacement. Up to that point before I took my car today, my bmw module has all the components checked out including the front pads and now they have to be replaced? If you are in similar situation when you go to this shop, let me know and we can do something about it.

Highly, highly recommend. I took my car in because my check engine light came on this past week. Turns out it was because I didnt tighten my gas tank cap all the way (yes, I am a little embarrassed). They did not charge me for this silly service (tightening my gas cap) and were incredibly nice to me. My check in, call with up date, and pick up interactions were all super professional and kind.Being a person who knows very little about cars I always have a slight fear that when I take my car in to the shop I will be taken advantage of. Andy, Justin and their team are truly the best. We’ve taken all our vehicles here for 17 years and have always been treated honestly and fairly. Andy goes above and beyond in making the right repair and never does unnecessary work. They are great about helping you prioritize work to be done that can’t or doesn’t need to be done all at once. They have worked on ours cars and RV with persistence for the toughest of issues. I’ve referred family and friends to them over the years and they too have them become lifetime customers. I don’t generally leave reviews but these guys are amazing and deserve all the praise and recognition for their honest, quality hard work!

After receiving an outrageous quote from another mechanic we tried out Austins Automotive Specialists. We originally found them through the guys at Discount tire in case we needed an oil change or alignment. After talking to them and having them give the car a once over, we ended up conducting a bunch of other routine maintenance besides the alignment/oil change. No appointment and we had the car back in less than 6 hours. Their prices beat the other shop by almost $900, and they recommended against a couple services the other shop insisted on because they said they were unnecessary at this time. I didnt feel pressure to get any specific work done and Justin was very honest and upfront about the benefits of certain services versus others. It still cost me a pretty penny, but I feel like I received more than I paid for in service and confidence in the work. I will definitely go back to Austins Automotive Specialists in the future. Highly recommend.

My husband and I have been using this auto shop for years. They are professional, friendly, communicative, and timely. I have an older car (Honda Accord) and they’ve been able to do all repairs needed including but not limited to steering, brakes, oil changes, alignments, and more. We trust their work and have never felt pressured or ripped off. We are happy to refer folks to this auto shop - they do great work.

Andy and Justin were great, took care of tune up, changed a battery that was close to dying and saved me several hundred dollars to fix back door lift on suburban. Dealership was going to charge about $1200 to replace lift motor. Andy discovered all was needed was replacement of the pistons that held up door. It’s nice to have honest people working on my vehicle.

I dropped the car off at 1pm. There was a fair amount to do (coolant flush, spark plug replacement, wheel alignment) and they had the car ready by 5pm, despite being fairly busy. The whole operation was professional. The price was fair, and they arent cowboys. I dont know what else you can ask for. Good job!

My wife brought our aging Toyota SUV to Austins Automotive Specialists (Wm. Cannnon shop) for a couple of signifiant repairs last year, including a radiator kit replacement. We were happy with the service and very reasonable cost. When my wife recently noticed that the coolant level in the overflow tank was nearly gone, we brought the vehicle back to AAS to have it looked into: They performed a thorough check of the cooling system and identified a hose that was leaking coolant under pressure. They replaced the hose at no charge, saying the repair was performed under warranty. My wife was very impressed with the professionalism and courtesy exhibited by Austins Automotive Specialists!

Thought my car was past the warranty and the A/C just went out. They set me up with a quick appointment. After a day of trying to diagnose it they called me and said they couldnt find where the leak was BUT called the dealership for me and turns out it was still just under warranty. Honesty and communication seem to be in short supply these days so when they told me they could either hold onto it to fix and charge up to however many dollars or give it back and have me call the dealership to get it fixed for free I was extremely grateful. Go to this place people they will take care of you and wont jerk you around.

I have used this auto shop before to repair my heater in my 2003 jeep. They gave me an estimate up front. Very reasonable price. Made an appointment dropped it off in the morning at 7:30 a.m they were done after 2:00 p.m. just as they had said. Im very happy with their service. They were nice and professional. I will use them again in the near future to repair my ac. They did an amazing job on my heater I know it will be the same for my repair for my ac. I have a 2007 Tundra with over 150K miles. It is still in great shape. Its very reliable overall. However, parts will wear out over time and will need replacing. Ive been taking my truck to Austins Automotive Specialists for several years now. The manager, Andy, and his team always do a great job. Ive had the starter replaced, all the shocks replaced, brake jobs, and a few other repairs over the years. They do quality work for a fair price. Much easier to get in and out compared to going to the dealer. Highly recommended.
