Quick and friendly service. Didnt wait longer than 5 minutes. I was in and out. I got the tiny car that I requested. It was fuel efficient and cost effective. I love tiny cars on vacation so I can slide in and out of traffic. I will be renting again.

I made a reservation on Expedia for a same-day reservation within Austin. Upon arriving at the airport, the agent said that Our policy is not to accept reservations within 24 hours. I asked if there was someone to explain this policy, including over the phone. He indicated I could talk to his manager, but after calling he said that the manager was off the property but was coming back. He dismissively invited me to sit down and wait with no indication of how long. This was a prepaid reservation, so I w as concerned that I might be told that I had no-showed and was not eligible for a refund. I asked the agent if he would give me a note with his name indicating that the reservation could not be filled. The agent flatly refused. I asked if I could make a quick video of him explaining that my reservation couldnt be filled. He shouted, You do not have permission to video me! and ran into the door behind the counter. Then he peeked his head out and told the people behind me in line to go upstairs, apparently to a kiosk. I left shortly after and rented from Hertz. Apparently other places had cars too, though.

The check in process wasnt bad. The full size car that I reserved was a little SUV four cylinder. The car was very dirty at pick up with dings and small dents. There were no mechanical issues with the car. When I returned the car at 3pm. There was only one person checking in cars, answer phones and checking out cars. Poor woman she was overwhelmed. She didnt have time to check in my car. She was very polite and professional.

Avoid like a plague! This company is worse than a rental company in a 3rd world country. They made a planned trip seem unplanned. Imagine booking in advance only to find out #1 your car is not available and that they want you to get the cheapest car in the lot for a whopping 10% OFF (normally, in other companies you get a free upgrade), #2 telling you that your insurance and supplemental insurance is not enough, and #3 after saying no to all, they want to have you to pay again another set of exhorbitant deposit which is not even in the original contract. Good thing is a level below, you have real reputable companies. They saved our trip.

More than an hour wait at Austin airport no one else had any lines. Each person at Fox takes 10 minutes. Cant get anyone from customer service on the phone. But you get to hear therm claim their commitment to customer service is something you can count on day in and day out. Such a bogus claim when you cant get a car or help.

FRAUD! If I could give no stars I would. I paid for the rental on 9/3. I arrived at the Austin Airport on 9/8 around 11:30pm due to flight delays. Went to pickup my rental and was told a deposit was needed. The cc I used to pay for the rental was declined. I offered another cc but the guy at the counter said they needed to wait 24 hours before trying a different card. I was told I could come back the next day and try a different card. This made absolutely no sense to me. I have a cc you can use but you wont. Plus telling me I can try again tomorrow. How? I dont have transportation which is why I was at your rental counter. I had to catch a $30+ dollar Uber to my hotel. I filed a dispute with Travelocity and Fox Rental Car response was.........I spoke with Fox Car Rental, and they decided to denied your request in getting a refund for the reason that there are no notes showing on their records that they did not allow you to pick up the car.Oh really!! COMPLETE LIE! So tell me why didnt I didnt pick up the rental car.

We have rented from this location several times and never had a problem. We have never had to wait in line, the employees have always been very nice and the cars are in good condition. Recently we had a 3 hour delay coming back from LA. I called the third party who helped us with our reservation the day before. They cancelled our original reservation and made us a new one for later that evening. When we got to the window at FOX we were told that they could not honor same day reservations. I was very upset and asked to speak with the manager to explain the situation. At first he told me there was nothing he could do which of course made me more upset. Phillip who was at the window was extremely apologetic but I was tired after a long day and still very upset. As we were getting ready to leave Phillip got a call from his manager who authorized him to honor our reservation. I would like to thank Phillip, Morgan and their manager Michael for helping us and showing us they do care about their customers! Due to their great job they have recovered us as a client and we would recommend them highly!!!

Totally understand why the place has a 2.1 rating. Rented a car for two weeks a few days ago and while it is the cheapest option of all the car rental agencies by more than 1/2, you never know if something will go wrong. Last year, I rented a car here & as I drove off, I realized it had a small crack in the upper left side of the windshield that by the next day had run across the entire windshield from top to bottom. While they were good about exchanging it, it took another big part of my day the next day to drive back out to the airport to exchange it.This time around, they gave me a Corolla that looked like it had been in a high speed car chase (scratches everywhere) and looked like a toddler had dipped his hands in honey and crawled all over the inside of the car. Everything inside was sticky and disgusting!! I immediately took it to the car wash the next day! Ugh 😑Having said that, the big pro is they are very cheap esp. if you need a car for more than a week. The negative is “quality” and “cleanliness” isn’t really their strong suit… lol.

At the first we were very skeptical because of the low ratings. All the rental car companies are pretty much all the same so we thought. I liked that Fox had the lowest prices compared to Avis or other places.We booked the car online and the check-in process was smooth. The only complaint is that we would not have added the minimum coverage (about $100?) had the gentleman asked us again, but I get that it’s a sales tactics so we were OK with that.We didn’t not add any toll pass because we used google maps in Texas and there’s a setting you can enable to avoid Tolls.The rental car process was seamless and fast. We got our receipt in the email within minutes after returning the car.The only other suggestion I would say is they need to clean their car (in the backseats) more thoroughly. I found disgusting fries in the backseat stuck inside. :(

1) DO NOT BUY THE TOLL PASS. They show you this map of where all the tolls are and make it sound like a great deal and say, you do the math. During our trip, I dont think we went through one toll lane (and you can always use Google Maps Avoid Tolls)2) They will also ask you, do you want Basic or Advanced coverage, instead of, do you want additional coverage? I was able to fully decline, but the customer next to me said Basic and only in reviewing the total did she catch that it was extra.

Staff were polite and picking up the car was quick and easy. I appreciate being informed to avoid any toll roads. We received the car that we were scheduled to pick up. There was a small dent in the front bumper and a small crack in the windshield which I kind of expect to see in a rental. The key fob was missing, so the alarm would sound when we used the key to unlock the car but alarm would turn off when vehicle is started. But that is how the vehicle is programmed from the factory. Again its a rental so no key fob was no big deal. The vehicle inside was very clean and it ran very well. Drop off was very easy as well. I would rent a vehicle from here again.

They threw in over $150 worth of extra fees at the end of my rental agreement when dropping it off!! Overcharged my card for a “priv fee, vlf fee, surcharge fee” which I never agreed to!! Charged my card $46 for a $1.10 toll fee after that without me knowing. The car was wrecked when I picked it up and totally scratched from every end. They never answer the phone! This company is a complete scam!

Had a little bit of a rough start when I did not receive confirmation of my reservation and had to wait on the phone for a half hour the day before travel to make sure I had a car. But after that, the rest of the experience was perfect. Weve rented from Fox before and have had a few minor issues, but this rental was a good one, and Ill keep them on my list for consideration the next time. The car was clean, it was ready when we arrived, and it was in very good working condition, serving our needs very well.

Terrible customer service. Elijah and Michael are disrespectful and not professional. Employees sit with their feet kicked up on the desks. Sit on their phones ignoring the customers in line. They wouldn’t honor a pre existing reservation that was booked before their policy changed. But watched them rent a car to someone who didn’t provide the proper credentials. She was using the license or credit card that wasn’t in her name.. vehicles are trashed, have cracked windshields, and bumpers are falling off. Don’t rent from them. Avis is right down the hall and has much friendlier service and vehicles

Very unprofessional staff with wait times over and hour. I booked a reservation didnt end up using it. My 600 dollars was non refundable.I would def. recommend other rentals services. I will never ever use them again with such a horrible experience.They are extremely difficult to get a hold of.From phone calls to emails.NEVER EVER USE FOX CAR RENT A CAR!Youre are better off using the more respectable rental services that have been around longer. Simply because they have more options and the staffing is way better. From corporate, down to the buser.

The car itself was fantastic. The people were great. Just be aware that, with all the additional insanely high fees, add on an additional 48%+ to whatever you are told you will pay in the beginning. Example, if your quote was $333, you will pay about $495. 😳

We rented online to pickup a car when we arrived from Oregon at 5 pm for an 8 day vacation. The lady told us the fine print said we had to pickup by 10am. She said they didnt have any cars for us and when her coworker said he had a car she cut him off and said I got this. She told us one of her competitors would have a car. We were shocked. Wound up with a car from Hertz where they were nice and bailed us out of a bad situation. Dont rent from Fox or trust them. They may be cheaper but definitely not better.

First of all thank you for actually being open! It seems like flights are delayed more often these days, and getting to a rental counter before 9 or 10pm is not always within your control.I don’t know why ratings here are so low?These guys took really good care of me (especially Elijah and Phillip). They made a stressful trip for my wife and me a little less stressful.I’ll def be using Fox in the future~

The agent was so rude instead of helping us she was sitting there playing on her phone until she was done and then asked can I help you. As if she really didn’t want to help us and she hated her job, if so quit. Then in the middle of speaking to her I asked for a manager she said there was none on site but if you wanna wait 30 minutes there should be one here and then left the counter as if she didn’t want to talk to us anymore.We made an online reservation and when we got to the counter we were told because we made the reservation the same day we were unable to pick up our car and they had no cars available. This simply is not true I’ve rented from Fox in different airports in different states like Denver Florida North Carolina and never came across this.

Usually dont do the one star review thing, but I feel like its my duty to warn fellow travelers away from this rental service. Go to any other service and it will be better.After traveling all day, I went to pick up my reservation and was told they are totally sold out of cars and they had canceled my reservation because I was late. (I was not late. My flight landed early due to good tail wind.)There were no more cars.I might overlook the fact I had a reservation and showed up to no car and zero plan to compensate for their mistake, but I find it unprofessional that they tried to blame me for their poor management. I was not late.The manager suggested, Try our competitor, Hertz, they might have a car.(They did. A compact for 234.00 for a single day. I guess Austin was having a rental car shortage.)Do yourself a favor. Spend the extra five dollars a day and get a reputable rental car service.

As of now I would give them a no star. What kind of company allows an individual to rent a car when said individual wont arrive at the airport until after 0130 hours in the morning? So upon arriving to the car rental area of the airport here in Austin Texas I see no one not a soul in sight, i go upstairs to their kiosk location nothing. So i have been in the air for over 5 hours to arrive here and cant get the rental car I reserved months ago. I would recommend to anyone dont assume that a place will be open 24 hours, one would think a place like an airport would have these locations manned 24 hours a day for the customer, but no not at all. Now it is almost 0200 hours as I type this and the fox rent a car will not open until 0700, I am stuck at the airport for 5 more hours. This is pure HELL.

I would stay away from these guys, the passenger amount and luggage quantity is not correct. I went back to change vehicles and drove it to where we were staying to wake up to a flat tire. I called roadside assistance to only be able to leave a message and didnt get a call back. So I took the car to a local tire shop to get it fix and ended up having to replace the tire. Fox refused to cover the cost of the new tire or the lost rental day. Theyre customer service is the worst I have ever dealt with in my life. I own a company and know they will not make it with the way they treat their customers. Take your money elsewhere.

NEVER EVER USE FOX CAR RENT A CAR!my car had not been cleaned and got low pressure warning within few hours. Also neglected to let me know that there was a $15 admin fee for every toll I went thru in Austin. $4 in actual tolls translates to $49 with Foxs admin fees. Wont use them again and wouldnt recommend.

I dont understand the bad reviews. Rented a very nice, newer Jeep Wrangler for about half what everyone else was charging. Check-in process was quick and smooth, everyone was very nice. Check-out was fast, refunded the $150.00 hold on my card the same day as check-out. 5 star experience.

I did not pick car up within the 3 hr window allowance due to booking error I overlooked. Lady at front desk said my window had expired, I ask do you have any cars available, I will take anything you have, NO was her only reply, didnt look up or acknowledge me at all after her statement. Two younger guys on my same flight ask the lady if any cars were available again she said NO without even looking at them either. I thought no way are they completely out of vehicles. If you find yourself in this position here is what you do,get on your phone and make another reservation, it is that simple. There were 13 cars available.

Fox is the most unprofessional, unorganized company I have ever had the misfortune to work with. I have been on hold for now 2 HOURS! The first time after an hour I was disconnected. I have been charged for items on the rental car receipt that are incorrect and absolutely absurd. I need to have someone reach out to me immediately to resolve this issue. I reserved this car in advance and did not get the car I was told I would get and had to wait an hour at the rental stand to even get into a vehicle. The vehicle was extremely dirty and had scratches and bumps all over the rude employee that was there basically told me to take it or leave it because I wouldnt be able to get another vehicle. Once I go to turn in the vehicle I asked to do a final inspection with the same rude employee who I pick up from. She said no that we dont do that and now I am seeing why because you are a snake of a company and are trying to charge me over $100 dollars for gas and tolls that I never agreed to. I have the credit card receipt dated and time stamped for filling up the gas tank on the vehicle before returning it.

Do not rent a car from this business. I showed up and my car had not been cleaned and it was missing a hub cap. The ...I decided to upgrade to a different car that was cleaner (for $15 extra) and that car....had temp tags on it for another vehicle. I asked one lady at the booth about it and I was told, “it’s not a big deal, the cops here in Texas aren’t gonna have an issue with it.” I’m like, huh? Where is the correct registration for the vehicle? You want me to drive a vehicle that has temp tags on it for another vehicle? She told me they didn’t have the correct temp tags for it. That don’t make sense. The papers they had given me that were supposed to be for the vehicle I was about to drive off with...had the license plate number on it for another vehicle! I’m like, so y’all got me signing for a vehicle that’s not even here? What if whoever is driving this other vehicle get into an accident or get a ticket? Who they gonna look for? Me! This place don’t care! I ended up having to get into a different vehicle because of of the incorrect temp tags. It was a very stressful experience. I will not rent from them again.

Renting a vehicle from this place was just crazy ! Its a $400.00 hold on your credit card on top of the cost of the car you renting. And then I went to get the vehicle, it had bent up plate, missing panel, small dings and scratches. I wish I could give them a star but the staff was really great.

Absolutely the worst rental car company that I have ever dealt with, and I have rented cars all over the world, I work for a major airline.I held for over an hour to talk to a live person to confirm a rental. I had a specific model of vehicle rented. No one ever answered and the recording said the same thing over and over and over and over. They tell you how Fox is the best rental company and that customer satisfaction is their number one goal. TOTAL BS !I finally hung up … I will never rent from this company !

GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!! I booked a couple weeks ago online with a debit card. I spent HOURS trying to get ahold of someone at Fox. Finally I confirmed the reservation with the general manager, TODD. He told me if I had any issues to give him a call or to ask to speak to MICHAEL the MANAGER on duty… Walked up to counter where I see ELIJAH with his feet kicked up on the desk, sitting on his phone. Next to a guy named RUSSELL who didn’t even say hello to us or even acknowledge us. Great way to portray a company that barely has a 2 star rating…. ELIJAH was extremely rude/disrespectful. Debit card policy changed a few days ago. So even though the policy wasn’t in effect when I booked my reservation using my debit card, ELIJAH told me it didn’t matter and that I had to use a credit card now. ELIJAH tells me to go online and rebook using a debit card. So I try doing that and the debit card option didn’t show up. Called customer service and spoke with BERNARDO who became irate & yelled at my wife on the phone. He said it’s location discretion whether to honor my pre existing reservation. Go back to the counter, ask to speak MICHAEL the manager. He didn’t care. He was unprofessional as well. He told me my reservation had expired which makes no sense since policy allows you several hours of a window after pickup time. I was still within it. I even tried making a new reservation online but it would say it couldn’t process it because I “have an existing reservation” which is the one I gave them papers for. So I’m not sure what led them to think that anything was expired. I even showed MICHAEL my phone where it said that I had an existing reservation. While I was trying to have MICHAEL help me with the situation, I witnessed ELIJAH the other employee, talk to a Hispanic female who told him that the card she had didn’t match the name on the license bc the guy who’s license/ card it was, wasn’t at the counter with her (or something like that). And yet ELIJAH still processed her paperwork. So you’ll violate policy to give other people cars…. That lady was Hispanic, several others were of different nationalities. They got helped quickly/ friendly by ELIJAH. Yet for 2 hours nothing got accomplished for my reservation. I’m white, which ELIJAH and MICHAEL are not. So is it a race issue? I even printed out/ highlighted my reservation, to make their job easier… Then ELIJAH wanted to start being disrespectful & lying. So his manager MICHAEL had to tell him to stop. Bc he knew it was making them look terrible because someone (me) noticed that policies aren’t followed correctly, and I called him out on it since his manager MICHAEL, lacks the fortitude to confront him. Prob why they rent vehicles that have windshields cracked, bumpers falling off, smell like marijuana etc. One employee told me that they keep getting cars stolen…Obviously there’s poor supervision & poor training when ELIJAH thought it was ok to go against policy when his manager is standing there. Poor standards. Poor customer service. After ELIJAH and MICHAEL wasting my time for several hours, we rented though Avis without any issues… TODD, the general manager of Fox, said he hoped I’d give all 10’s on the survey. Well TODD, I didn’t do a survey because your employees refused to honor a pre-existing reservation. So, I never got the rental car and never got the survey. So I’m leaving a review instead. These employees are completely unprofessional, need some sort of training on how to interact with customers. I have never had an issue like this with any of the rental cars I’ve ever rented from other agencies.

OMG... Do NOT rent from these people. I was given a lecture first about how if I went through a toll I would be in small claims court to have to pay it, unlike other companies who send you a receipt. Then once I got in my car, I didnt really accelerate to leave the building, you roll slowly to the exit and down a spiral driveway. Once outside, as I gave the car a bit of gas, the car shook and made a hideous sound! I was frightened I would break down before I got to my destination. I returned the car immediately and at the same time another family was returning their car that they had just rented because it was a piece of junk also. I explained to the agent that I didnt feel safe, and he spoke with the manager, so I was able to cancel my reservation and go to a company I trust. I have never rented from Fox before and have since learned they are beyond budget, they are a last resort. It turns out my car was 3 years old and had 67000 miles on it. I misread it initially and thought it was 6700 miles. It was an old fricken car! I wont make this mistake again! Pay a bit extra and get a car that you can trust and have your family safe in! Its not worth it!

This review is long overdue. IfI could give this company company negative stars I would. The counter person was completely rude. I booked a car in the morning landed in Austin only to be toldthat I could not book and get a car the sameday. Strange that it’s an option to online. Fox needs to not allowsame day car bookings on their site if they can’t fulfill the rentals.

I wouldnt give them one star if I didnt have to! Seriously---go somewhere else to find a car!! We booked online through Expedia, showed up for our rental and then were told they didnt have any cars available--nothing they could do to help us. I asked what I was supposed to do for a refund and they told me theres nothing I can do except call Expedia. Which I have done---repeatedly for the last month with no luck getting a refund. Fox Rent A Car refuses to return their call and verify the lack of a rental.Also--because we still needed a rental car--I quickly booked a car on Hertz.com (the only other car counter open at the airport at that time)--and guess what---the car was actually $60 cheaper through Hertz! And we walked right over and they gave us a car in minutes.Save yourself the trouble and potential disaster by booking somewhere else! This place is horrible!

BUYER BEWARE!!!!Poor service, unable to fulfill reservation for vehicle booked. These guys also promise a low price up front and then hit you with nearly a 75% mark-up in fees after the fact.These fees will not be disclosed to you until you have already arrived at the counter. When you do get the final bill, contest it with your Credit Card company.These guys relish the 1:30 minute hold time that comes standard with call to their billing department. Out-sourced and half a world away.Go with anyone else. These guys don’t make firm promises, the value, excellence and service they advertise. Is just that a marketing image/scheme.

Went for my reservation. They were nice, efficient, and quick! No issues whatsoever. The most painless 3 minute process EVER! Had to go to the 3rd floor to pick up our rental. Thought it would take a while. But it was fast and I was out of there, quickly! Thank you for making this painless.

Read the fine print carefully when making my reservation, but when we arrived to pick up, we were unable to complete our reservation because we planned to go out of state. We live in TX and could only go to states that are bordering, which excluded Colorado. Thankfully there was no penalty for canceling and *especially* thankful for another company (Na tion al).

Terrible, terrible service. I booked through Expedia and none of the customer service numbers provided for Fox Rental even exist. This company is a SCAM. Do not waste your money. They dont allow for any revisions/modifications to the rental once it is booked if you pay in full. I would NOT recommend using this company AT ALL.

I almost wait more than 1hour 30 minutes to talk to customer care team, but unfortunately my call was dis-connected at the end with out reaching to the customer care team. On the next day When I reached to the customer care team their response is not appropriate about long hours waiting. Dont want to book the car through Fox car rental again.

Horrible experience with no brand rental company. I went through Priceline (a third-party to rent a compact vehicle) Once I got to the counter, Ron found out that I was military, so he upgraded my vehicle to a midsize vehicle. He appeared to so kind and concerned about saving me money. He offer the EZPass to use during my visit. He said that I would save lots of money by using the pass. He failed to mentioned that as a visitor, I could pay the fees at later for the few places that I would venture out to see. Needless to say, I did not need to pay $138 for tolls because the places did have a toll. Fox Rent Car personnel lie to get visitors to pay the extra fees. Ron-the front desk clerk saw a sucker coming. To top it off, FOX Rent A Car will keep you on hold to discourage you from speaking with a manager. So I decided to call for a new reservation, they answer promptly. This company is a scam, especially for newcomers.

I have no complaints regarding the professionalism and attitude of the employees. My complaint goes toward the car quality.I rented a Mitsubishi SUV from July 16th through July 20th. This car had 57,000 miles on it. The brakes were not safe at all. There was also clear alignment issues when you use the brakes the steering column would shake.

CAVEAT EMPTORSlow, rude, unfriendly and unprofessional service starting with the rental desk agent and ending with the garage attendant. The rental desk agent was evasive, eye contact avoidant, questionable answers to questions on rates, and other charges. At first quoting a rate which was different from that provided to us by our travel agent, then changing it after being pressed on the difference. Unfortunately, the experience continued in the garage when the attendant put us in a car with VISIBLE EXTENSIBLE body damage. She DID NOT point this out before hand, accompany us to check over the vehicle, or provide us with a list of the know damage to the vehicle. Instead, when I brought it to her attention she didnt apologize, instead she just mater of factly stated that it was our responsibility to note the damage to them. When pressed about the damage she admitted that they were aware of the damage and provided me with a list of known, dents, bumps, scrapes etc. We eventually exchanged that vehicle or another one. This was our FIRST and LAST experience with this company. We travel extensively both nationally and internationally and FOX RENT A CAR is the W O R S T rental car company that we have ever encountered. We informed our travel agent of the nightmare experience and suggested that she not use this company for us and any of her valued clients.

We couldnt found returning car area and wrong place parked (HERTZ) and return key (with note where we parking car area) in the box. Fox staff safety take care return to car .Need big sign where we have to returning place area not only us we saw few people leave car wrong place and go to terminal.

AWFUL!!!! I have never worked with such rude people! Canceled my reservation with no contact after I was told I would get a call. My flight was canceled and I called ahead of time to make sure I’d still have a reservation saying I’d happily still pay the full amount. No one called me or emailed me.

I had a confirmed online reservation with this company. And when I was supposed to pick up the car I reached the counter and I was told at the counter “since booking was made today” we can not cater you and we do not have any cars. You can try enterprise. What kind of car rental companies take more bookings than they can fulfill? I have used fox in past and except lots of miles on their cars rest everything have been fine. But this incident will stop me from trusting Fox again and I wouldn’t ever rely on Fox again.

I really should give negative stars. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY. You will be cheated and you will receive a very dirty, broken down vehicle. I recieved the vehicle fuel at 3/4, employees told me, return it at same level as I did upon returning it.At 5am i returned the vehicle with no one to greet me, witnesses the reading, nor can i witness their input of the actual reading. On the invoice i was still charge for fuel, by a very dishonest employee by the name of MARIA T. stating I returned vehicle only half way. A Customer Service by the name of MJ was not helpful! Refused to send me to someone higher to help since he did not care to do anything but reread what is entered by there employee! They Refuse to refund me or even investigate if she mistakenly enter false reading, but no MJ stuck to the idea that I was the dishonest one who returned it at half tank only. I took a picture of the dash board when I received the car. Maybe MARIA T. enter the level of (Hot & Cold) meter instead of actual reading of gas. I dont know, but its show the lack of honesty this FOX car rental company has. FOX is worse car rental I have ever dealt with. Do not rent with this company. There are many hidden fees, they will steal your money. You have been warned.

Car broke down hours after we picked it up. Wouldn’t accelerate. Nobody answered the helpline until multiple calls in which I was on hold for 10-20 mins. They did exchange cars for us later that night, came to our hotel.Now I have a $70 fee charged a week later, a fee on top of the initial agreement. I’m on hold once again, 20 mins in to address this. Oh! And don’t fall for the toll fee (we did, they scared us with the $15 toll fee each time one passed...)

My experience was much better than expected. I was very anxious leading up to our trip and until I got the keys (at 11:30pm) to the minivan that I reserved. So much so that I made a call to see if there was anything I could do to ensure itd be there upon my arrival and was told that vehicle types are not guaranteed until pickup. If youre not a worrier and can even be a little flexible with the type of vehicle you get, this is the way to go. Our savings was about 50% compared to the competitors that are also open late night in AUS. I booked a minivan as we were in town for a hockey tournament, needed the space for luggage and passengers. Only a swap to an SUV wouldve been sufficient. To my surprise, when I arrived, all that remained was 1 SUV and 3 Vans, whew! Given the reviews, it sounds like not everyone is lucky enough to get the vehicle they reserved, especially when arriving late at night. I witnessed the poor agent getting screamed at by a woman that was going to have to take one of the remaining minivans instead of whatever she booked. Dorothy (the agent) did a great job remaining calm, Im sure this wasnt her first unhappy customer given the reviews. As for the vehicle, it was fine. No frills - manual sliding doors and seat adjusters, little to no pickup when accelerating. But, it was available, did what we needed it to do and saved us a ton of money!

They have a policy that if both spouses are going to drive the vehicle ( which they do not clean or vacuum ), the spouses must share the same last name . How many married couples have the same last name???Due to the rain and hail we decided to return the vehicle 3 hours early and now have been charged a late AND a late fee! We have been on the phone on hold for some time but will have to deal with this later. My husband who works for the media is not happy and I am making him wait to see if Fox will correct this situation.

This company is a scam. I rented a car for a week traveling from Austin, Texas to Corpus Christi. The lady at the desk asked if I would like a toll pass for my travels. I asked if there was tolls on the way to “CC” and she replied yes there is but there’s a longer way to take which require no tolls. I purchased the pass to make things easier and there is not a single toll no matter what route you take from Austin to CC. Wasted $150 dollars and getting in contact with this company is near impossible. Don’t fall victim to this company. Also, I paid for a jeep or “jeep like” and received a piece of junk when multiple other vehicles are on the lot and in the condition I paid for. The vehicle had a bag with a moldy sandwich under the seat and the car smelt awful. The car outside and inside was disgusting. Will never use this company again.

This would’ve been my second time renting a car from this location but, it did not happen. I understand that there are rules and policies however, the first time I rented a car here I was able to do so with no problems, this time around “Bob” (an older gentleman I doubt is his name) made this experience a difficult one. I don’t own a credit card, the first time they did not ask for one, used my debit card and drove off, had I known I would need one I would’ve obtained it, I explained this to “Bob”, he then got agitated and told me to “get the f$&@ out”!! Great customer service “Bob” keep it up!

Worst car rental company to say the least. Long lines, long waits, poor airport shuttle service. Most locations have no more than two agents working the counter. If you use this company, and havent had a bad experience, dont worry, you will.

Completely messed up company. does not care about your time one bit will waste hours of your time. Erroneous information on your rental agreement, and when you point this out to them they try to convince you that thats just how the system works and its not a problem. The very long time on customer support if you need to call them for. Any reason and a supervisor will not call you back even if they say they will.

Fox Rent A Car had the best deal for a multi-day SUV rental (via Expedia) so I went ahead and booked with them despite unfavorable reviews. Im happy I did because I got a great deal, the vehicle type I requested, AND the car was brand new. Return was also effortless with agent Sierra. I would use Fox again.

Please everyone I warn you this is some of the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced in my life.They double booked my car in frustration the manager and I both got heated manager basically said get out of here go find your business somewhere else.It took me an hour and a half before I could find another rental car company that had a car available I’m sure this manager knew this and that’s why she was enjoying her moment.Fortunately hertz had a car for me and understood my situation and give me a better rate and a better car.I hope someone in corporate management read this this was happening at the Austin international airport at 5 o’clock I wish I knew the managers name

Desk help was overwhelmed, but pleasant. Didnt have the car I reserved and gave me smaller than I wanted, but was glad to be out of the 30 minute waiting line. Also neglected to let me know that there was a $15 admin fee for every toll I went thru in Austin. $9 in actual tolls translates to $99 with Foxs admin fees. Wont use them again and wouldnt recommend.

Absolutely horrible. Headed to the counter after getting our bags, to a line that stretched past 3 other counters. After waiting in line for over 2 hours, we were told that our car, which we reserved far ahead of time - unlike others in the same line - had been given away because we were outside the ‘window’ for arriving. Even a call to the manager was of no help. If they hadn’t such a horrible line, then we would have been in the window. I’m never renting from this disaster again.

Buyer beware!!!! Renting our car for 5 days in Austin cost us TWICE the amount we were quoted. We have no plans to ever do business with this company again. Read the fees and fine print VERY CAREFULLY and make sure you know what you are getting.

Absolute worst experience ever! We prepaid for a 7 day rental for $254. When we got to the airport we were told there was an additional $150 deposit. The woman was extremely rude. I dropped the car off early and fully expected to not get a refund of the $254, but I never got the deposit refunded either. I tried to call and find out what the process was and to ask for a final invoice. I was on hold for over 45 minutes with a voice telling me there were more than 10 people ahead of me. The number of people ahead of me never changed. Not exactly outstanding service by any stretch of the imagination. Do NOT reserve a car from them ever!!!

Yep. 0 stars for these guys. I had a car reserved for pick up at 10:30 pm. I was in line 10:28 pm. The person before me got done at 10:32 pm and when my turn came they told me I was too late and they couldn’t honor the agreed upon fee. They increased the price by $200 to $500! What in the world? On top of that, completely unfriendly, hostile, and annoyed customer service. Definitely stay away from this joke of a company. 👎🏻👎🏻

They gave me a smaller car than I paid for. Rep was hating life.Confirmation email didnt say what size car my wife chose. Lady at the desk was hating life and playing on her phone every second she could during my reservation. So I didnt dare ask when I saw the smaller car. Only in parking lot, my wife and I agreed that something is wrong. Asked the reps in the parking structure, they wanted to know what size we chose, we were not sure, but started naming models we expected, finally they actually looked into the computer to see the size we chose.

I regret not having read reviews about this company & location prior to renting a car from them. The lure was a 2019 Jeep Cherokee advertised at an exceptionally low price! The agent at the desk told me a few things that later were untrue. I was told I would only be charged the tolls for the tolls I drove through ( I had a $10.00 toll and a $100.00 PROCESSING FEE for driving through a toll!!) She told me that gas would be the same rate as the gas station with NO SERVICE FEE ( I had never requested a car be filled by the rental company.. but since there would be no extra charges... hmmm.. a 15$ gas top off turned into a $48.00 top off.. explain that lie) Now, back to the Jeep... I was offered a Mitsubishi. The hood looked as if it had participated in shoot-out! It had what looked like bullet holes all over it! I then selected another Mitsubishi in somewhat better condition. My thought, why offer me this damaged vehicle, when others were available? Staff was unfriendly, disinterested and bored ( on her cell phone while Im standing waiting for service)I will never rent from another Fox agency again. Had a fabulous experience the following time with Alamo!

I booked a car with this company via Priceline. When I came to get my car they asked for a credit card, I don’t have any but my husband does, she didn’t want to use it even if I had his passport, we are sharing the same lash name, and I could FaceTime him.I said I have a debit card and they couldn’t use it either because I am not flying. I think the worst is they had no backup option, no credit card authorization form, nothing... Priceline refunded me but charged $10 for cancelation fee. Very irritated by the inconvenience.

Horrible Service. Our flight got delayed so I called to let them know we would be late and they gave us a time we had to be there but when we got there they told us we were past the 12 hour pick up time which was a lie. We had to fight with them just to get our car and then wanted us to pay for an upgrade. then it just so happened a car showed up out of the blue for us to take at no extra charge but with a fight to get what we originally ordered. Now I got my credit card with an extra $75 attached to it. Never use them!!!!!

The worst experience ever. We reached 45 minutes before the counter closing time but to our surprise it was already closed. I had to take an Uber to my hotel and reserve a new rental the next day for double the original amount. I would never recommend Fox rental to anyone.

Absolutely worst costumer service ever, we waited almost 3 hours, we had to form the long line 3 times because every single time we would reach the counter the lady in there called “Britt” the one with braided hair, told us that they did not have the vehicle we reserved 2 months ago, she told us that we had to wait until they got one or go somewhere else and rent from them(and she knew all the other agencies were sold out). She did not offer any solution whatsoever and she would not give us an upgrade. The third time we got to the counter there was another lady and they still did not have the car we reserved and made us pay extra for an SUV (almost 3 hours waiting)

Rented a Kia Sportage. Nice car, the staff were all right, except when I checked the engine before a five hour drive. Oil was down by 2 quarts, coolant below minimum, and a hole in the windshield wash container which let all the fluid within 5 minutes. Fox help line was supposed to pay me back for the oil but didnt. Had to use a bottle of Windex and water to spray the windshield through the driver window while driving. Next time will pay a few more bucks.

First time I had an experience at any rental car service. Lady at the desk was extremely rude to me, so much so that the other customer next to me commented how rude she was and how politely I handled the situation. I understand we are all human and have bad days but it does not give you the right to treat others poorly especially if you are in the service industry.

So I was very worried about renting here after reading all the reviews, but decided to do it because it offered some of the cheapest prices for car rental. I reserved a car online but did not have to pay until I picked it up. I declined the extra insurance offered with no problems, I brought my own proof of insurance for my personal vehicle but they didn’t even ask to see it. I declined the toll pass without any issues, car was ready within 5-10 minutes, it was clean, full of gas and no mechanical issues. In fact they gave me a free suv upgrade. Had the car for five days, returned it full of gas, no issues at all when checking out. Quick process. I know there is a lot of negative reviews but I had an issue free experience here and would rent here again! Hope this helps some folks and ease your mind about renting from them!

We rented and paid for a car at the Austin Airport. We arrived at the designated time. Surprisingly Fox Rent a Car did not have a car for us. They were “all out of cars”. There were others behind us in line. I suppose that we are not the only disappointed customers today. Never had this experience. Obviously will never attempt to rent there again.

When I originally rented online I was skeptical because it was at least $100 cheaper than any other rental company I used. The check in and pick up of the vehicle was pretty quick and the staff at the counter was really nice. The attendants at the actual pick up in the garage were beyond helpful and very courteous. When I dropped off the vehicle the attendant was super nice and I got my email receipt right away and guess what? No hidden charges. HIGHLY RECOMMEND renting from Fox in Austin.

Not happy with them at all. Girl at counter no personality and no help what so ever. Return the car in long line of cars gave the guy our key and said were all good well he didnt check it in till another hour so they charged us for bringing it back late. We didnt no that we had our reservation only till 12 our plane was delayed so when we got there at 1 they said they gave our reservation away. Kind of our fault for not knowing but of course they had only more expensive ones left really only one hour later. Called customer service and pretty much got the cold shoulder from them they really dont care .FYI if your going to go through tolls its an extra 16$ day if you dont pay the 16 and you go through a toll its a 30$ fee per toll plus the toll price. Glad we didnt have to go through tolls.Will definitely not be renting from them again.

I usually do not like to write bad reviews but Fox has terrible business practices and worse customer service. I had to take a quick trip to Austin for work and after waiting almost an hour in line for my rental car, the representative at the counter told me Fox will not honor reservations made less than 24 hours in advance. By this point, every other car rental place at the airport was sold out of vehicles so I was stuck with no options. I asked if I could get something in writing saying they would not honor my reservation because it was paid in full ahead of time and I wanted to make sure there were no hassles getting a refund. The manager who was already there dealing with another frustrated customer that had the same issue turned to the lady at the counter and told her we do not do that, no exceptions! with a rude attitude. After asking for their corporate number to call before I left, the manager, again rudely, said, ugh, just do it!

Rented for Denver airport. Waited over 20 minutes for a van, that when it came only held 8 people, there were at least 20 waiting. The line at the Fox facility was sooooo long. I guess the wait was at least 45+ minutes. The agent was friendly, but talked me into buying a toll tag and I had no idea it charges you for everyday that you rent the car. He could have explained that to me. He also charged me for a full tank of gas and told me to bring it back empty. I told him that was hard to do, I told him I would rather fill it up and return it. Obviously that didn’t matter.I had a flat on the way to my destination. The agent was NO help at all. They made me pay for the blowout because they said it wasn’t their fault the tire had a blowout.I never did get a detailed receipt for my car rental after I returned it.I didn’t save ANY MONEY renting from this company.Please read the reviews and decide for yourself, but I will never rent from them again!

After reading all the negative reviews, we decided that people are often more likely to leave a review if they had a bad experience than a good one so we opted to try the company as it was hands down, the cheapest for a 5 day rental. I went through AAA so I did not purchase the additional insurance at the counter as I already did through AAA when reserving the vehicle. I also did not opt for the pre paid gas fill up you can purchase to return the car without gas as I always run my rental cars through a cheap car wash and fill it up prior to return. The vehicle was clean and ran smoothly. No issues with pick up or drop off. For the price and service, I would recommend this company to others.

I wish I could give them negative stars. This company is terrible. The place is a dump and the employees arent much better. They charged me double the price just to up grade the same car to an all wheel drive. The car they gave me was trashed and beat up. I had no idea they were charging me double and didnt charge it to my account till after I brought back the car. Ive tried contacting them for days and no acknowledgment of any kind. I waited on hold for 30 minutes just to have someone hang up on me. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this place.

Rented online. Paid in advance. Went to pickup vehicle and casually mentioned where we were going. They said we werent allowed to take the vehicle more than one state away. Its not listed on the website but he said it was in the small print. Thankfully I mentioned it or they would have charged a $1000 penalty and confiscated the car leaving us stranded. Terrible experience. Check in is crazy long only to tell you that you need to wait 1 hour to get your rental car. They have no signs telling you where the check in counter is so you will find yourself in the rental car RETURN area. Terrible signage.Pay a bit more for other companies and save yourself the headache.Not sure how they stay in business.

Horrible. We reserved a mini van rental for our family vacation. Upon arrival and inspection of the vehicle we were extremely disappointed to learn that there was not an inch of this van that was not scratched, dented, or damaged in some way. We were then offered an suv that had lots of scratches and rust. We eventually had to settle for a jeep, which was smaller than we were anticipating having for our trip. All of the vehicles were also very dirty. The staff was not exactly what I would call helpful or friendly. We will never do business with this company again. I would give it 0 stars of I could.Additional update....We prepaid this rental for our vacation. When we picked the vehicle up we had to let them hold $150.00 on our credit card in addition to the payment, which we were told would be refunded upon return of the vehicle. Ten days after retun of said vehicle, the $150.00 charge is still being held as a pending charge on my credit card. I had to call the company and I have now been told that they will release it, but it takes 24-48 hours. They were unable to give me an actual reason why this release did not happen as it should have upon return of the vehicle, nor did they care when I tried to express the issues we had picking up our rental.Do yourself a huge favor. If you need to rent a vehicle for any reason whatsoever, choose a different company that this one.

Do not buy a car from here. The rental reservation of $75 is non-refundable, because once you arrive the total price ends up being $265. This is a scam of a company, and should be brought into the ground through bankruptcy. Do not buy, do not help them with their business. You will be charged, you will be charged, you WILL. BE. CHARGED.The agent I was speaking with was named Braijeane.You will be taxed and charged and the car WILL be in disrepair. DO NOT. BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE.
