Poor communication about no after hours returns. I was late returning my vehicle by about 1 hour, missed the office closing at 1pm and was charged a full extra day as a result. When I returned the car and ask for some consideration, its not like they were waiting on the car to rent it elsewhere, I was shown a sign, covered with clutter on the counter stating the policy of charging for a full day if returned late. It may not be required but to get my recommendation I would expect at least a verbal warning at the time of renting the car that my reservation return time was just before closing so please dont be late or we will have to charge you for another day. The office closed at 1:00 pm.
Overall it was a great experience. The only complaint would be that there is a fee to cancel. The car we rented, a Chevy Equinox was excellent! Matt, the Avis employee where I picked up the car from was very friendly and helpful! thank you for making our trip to NOLA an even better one!

After multiple unpleasant experiences at this Avis, I felt obligated to leave a feedback. This place is within walking distance to my house so I use this location a lot The agent there is absolutely useless. I think his name is Sam, an older gentleman. It’s not Matt (Matt is the younger guy and was great btw). The older agent does the absolute minimum and have never inspected the car once when I first picked up. These things are not a big deal but the few times where I had issues, you really see the incompetence of this agent. He was rude, completely useless and not even apologetic. He’s attitude was always I didn’t do it, don’t blame me, call customer service. Never once took accountability or even offered to help.1 - rented a car that literally smelled like an ashtray. Since I was late for an appt I ended up just taking the car. I called the store shortly after to let them know the smell and he jokingly asked if I smoked. When I returned the car the next day I asked Sam if there anything he could do for renting us this ashtray. He immediately took 0 ownership and even said “what do you want me to do?” I mean you are working there, I’m sure there are some things you can do with a smoking car. Avis is supposed to have a nonsmoking fleet. Anyways nothing was done there and I had to call customer service.2 - this happened recently. I made a prepaid reservation and stopped by a few hours later than my scheduled pickup time due to work. Our fav agent was of course behind the desk. Sam said they gave my car away because I was late and had 0 cars available. When I asked what’s the point of me making a prepaid reservation then? He told me to contact customer service again and said it wasn’t him who gave my car away. This lack of accountability is just amazing. Customer service told me with prepaid reservations, the store is supposed to hold the car for the day. I had to spend time on the phone to modify my reservation to a different place, which was farther. Missed my doc appt, and ended up paying $20 uber to pick up my rental.If I could gave 0 starts for this location and more specifically Sam, then I would. I hope Corporate will do something about this because his actions are driving away a lot of customers.
The broker didnt walk the car with me, he just handed me keys amd told me where it was in the lot. I noticed a rock chip and so I called no answer so I called corporate and they tried to call him no answer. The lady gave me a reference number of the report this was 20 minutes after rental and no I see a charge for it on my credit card. I rent 6 times a month and should have never stopped going to enterprise. The truck was filthy inside and out also when I picked up. They did resolve the issue and I do appreciate that.
Matt at the Avis inside the walmart was awesome. Complete Rockstar. He helped us work out an issue we were having that involved multiple third parties contracted by Avis. Thanks Matt for helping us get home on Sunday.

I have previously had good experiences with this Avis rental location. This time my car was dirty (inside and out), smelled funky and had a missing armrest. I had to vacuum out the back (we rented a mini-van for space-needs..) to use it - just filthy! The missing armrest made driving position less than comfortable.
Erica was awesome. I was welcomed with a smile and great customer service. Tired from my trip, she worked quickly and had me in and out of there in no time. I would definitely use Avis again.
We had a terrific experience we Avis. We walked right up to the counter and were in our car and out of the airport in less than 15 minutes. The car we received was terrific. When we returned, we stayed at a hotel in which we simply dropped off the car and were able to walk back to the hotel. This was the easiest experience we have ever had in a car rental and the best car we have ever had. Great experience.
Such an easy experience! From making the reservation online to picking up and dropping off the car, it is stress-free and effortless. This is one piece of my traveling that I know I dont have to worry about...the excellent service is always consistent.I make trips to El Paso every couple of weeks for work and I have never had to wait in a line or wait for my car. The staff is friendly and fast. My car has always been clean and ready with a full tank of gas. And dropping of my car is so easy. Staff is available outside, ready to get you checked in and on your way- Ive never had to wait more than 1 min (usually less) to have them complete the check-in and/or get my receipt.Thank you for making this so easy and enjoyable! :)
DO NOT RENT FROM THIS LOCATION ON A SATURDAY or SUNDAY! They will charge you for a second day if you cannot get the car back by 2 :00 PM. EVEN if you return it within the first hour of the next day since they don’t have an after-hours drop off. I have rented at a lot of Avis locations and all of them have been extremely lenient with the 24-hour policy, but this place takes it to the extreme. If you must return the car by 2:00 PM and the store is closed when you arrive at 2:15 PM you will get charged for another day+ a late fee.I rented a car on a Friday at 2:00 PM and got stuck in traffic on my way to return it at 2:00 PM making me late by 15 minutes. Couldnt return it after hours so I returned in at 9:30 AM Sunday (30 minutes after they open) and got charged for a full days’ worth and late fee. The funny part is the person I got the rental from told me that if something happened I would be able to return in within the first hour the next day and it wouldnt be a big deal. When I brought this to the managers attention he told me I was wrong, and no one would have told me that, and he wouldn’t be making any adjustments to my rental.I called customer service and made a formal complaint for this location. I have never had a problem with any of the past experiences with Avis until today.
I rented a 12 passenger Van and the whole experience was positive, from no line at the Avis booth, to driving off the lot, to returning the Van. The vehicle was relatively new (12,000 miles), comfortable and clean. All 12 of us appreciated it!I returned it yesterday and this morning received a call that one of the passengers left a watch in the van. So they are also honest!I rent cars often at cheapest rate available and this was one of the best experiences I have had.

It was fairly easy, they were nice, and I really enjoyed our vehicle.
We recently rented a vehicle for vacation at the El Paso TX airport. The service rep was very helpful and courteous. He suggested that we sign up for the loyalty program and we would receive additional benefits for doing so. We did that and he was very patient while we signed up using our smart phone and helped us through the process. We dropped the car off at the Phoenix Airport and the return was a breeze. We arrived early because we were expecting to go through some long process to turn in the car; inspection, check fuel level, etc. All we had to do was park the car, hand the keys to the porter and walk away. It was a beautiful thing and took all of two minutes. We jumped on the Avis shuttle and it took us right to where we needed to be. Instead of hanging out at the Avis counter we were able to rest easy knowing we wouldnt be rushing to get on our plane. Thank you Avis!

The car was good, and the people at the register and at the pick up location great! However the safety seats for babies at the San Antonio International Airport were really bad, I dont even understand how Avis dare to charge for them! They were dirty, smelled bad, and didnt feel sturdy or safe.
Ive rented my share of vehicles from almost all other agencies but AVIS never fails to impress. From the best prices and selection to the easiest pickup and return. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a courteous and professional experience.
It was extremely easy to pick up and return my rental car at the El Paso airport. The AVIS associates were very friendly and helpful. They even provided me with a map of the city of El Paso which I found to be very useful. I highly recommend renting cars from the AVIS location at the El Paso airport.

We showed up and our car was not ready. After several minutes at the preferred counter, we asked the sales/service person what we can do to prevent this from happening to us again. He immediately found another car for us so we were able to get on the road within a few minutes.
Ive given this location inside the Walmart 2 stars only because the corporate customers service line was helpful, friendly and well-versed in customer service.My frustration begins with making a reservation online for a last minute emergency trip 1200 miles both ways. I got off my computer and called the location on the way to pick up my mini van, only to find that they dont have one. Wow!! The agent told me that they know the system shows they have them, when they dont because theyre shuttled 30miles from the airport to the location. I called later in the afternoon so i was out of luck.I get back online to book another reservation, only its dangerously close to closing time now. 3 calls, to let them know im coming,to that location go unanswered and as I arrive i find the agent siting in a chair reading something. He turned out to be very friendly, HOWEVER, I am told that I get charged each day for 24hours of use BUT on Sunday, my return day, they close at 2 instead of 6, the time I rented. I cant return at 2 but Joe, the manager, rambles on and on about policy instead of being a human being for a second and answering my question. Do you think this is fair? I will be charged a 3rd day if I cant return it by 2 and thats how it is. When did people stop listening and become robots?? Not only did I bring it back on Sunday but I vacuumed it first. 4 kids and 1200 miles and I brought it back spotless. Thats the respect I show. Joe couldve handled this many different ways but instead he chose to spout policy instead of doing right by his customer.Thank you, corporate customer service for doing whats right and making sure I dont get charged the 3rd day.
It was easy to pick up and drop off the car. The car was new, very clean, and a nice make and model (Dodge Dart). All of the employees I came into contact with were friendly and smiling. I always try to use Avis, its my first choice when traveling.
Cant believe how the owner operator of this location spoke to me after returning car . I am a business operator who rents frequently from this location frequently. I often extend time as I need for my business and I asked him if I need to do anything special if I need for extra days as different agencies have different rules, he said I would just get charged $10 service fee well I just got hit with a $120 late charge with some fictitious statement as he could only give me a $40 credit back with a lecture on how I should have called . It blows my mind how rental car companies arent training their operators basics of customer service as if their is no competition. I will not come back to this location again if I can help it.
Update- 2 weeks later they refunded back my $$$ so thats the reason I gave it 3 stars..But Im still not renting from them
Avis has done a good job listening to frequent business travelers. The app now works well. My only complaint is dirty windshields a few too many times which is a pet peeve of mine!

Great car for the money, make sure they put antifreeze in the windshield washer tank and ask for an ice scraper in winter.
