When i used to live in North Austin this was my local Barbershop, i now live towards elgin and every month or so i get a haircut! I drive about 40 minutes to come here! Vicki who I always ask for always cuts my hair the way i like it! I won’t go anywhere else! Just like anything in life prices goes up this place used to be $15 but now is $25 so keep that in mind, still cheaper and more friendly then other barber shops! I will keep coming back!

Went to the barber shop for the first time in over a year and a half!Just went again today, price has skyrocket from $15 to $25!!! May have to learn to cut my own hair for that price or maybe buy a flobee???

An awesome old-school barber shop, right down to the big jar of Barbicide full of combs! My haircut was $15 (plus a $5 tip), and it came out how I wanted. They took me as a walk-in, but they prefer appointments, so call first. Definitely going back. 👍

Ive been getting my haircut here for over 5 years and the price has remained $15/cut the whole time. Ty (the owner) and Vicki are both great. They are courteous, thorough, and very friendly. Appointments and masks are required during Covid, but its as easy as a phone call and they usually get me in quickly. Tys dad and grandfather both owned barbershops locally too, so its in his blood. Highly recommend for all ages.

These folks are just fantastic. Service is exceptional, and their prices are very reasonable. I have committed to visiting them on a weekly basis for they have truly earned my business.

Ive been coming to Jollyville Barber Shop for just shy of a year now, and have been pleased with the results each time. Vicki does a great job and is very friendly. To be mindful of their customers time, they book 1hr appointment slots, to protect your time in the event that the previous appointment took longer than normal. As one who has spent many hours waiting in needlessly overbooked doctors offices, this is something I appreciate greatly. I plan on continuing to come to this barbershop that offers a great service at a very reasonable price.

A no frills kind of place that gets the job done without the unnecessary fance you tend to see in more modern barber shops. I just need my hair cut, and thats what they do, and they do it well because they focus on the craft not gimmicks. Both Tye and Vicki are highly skilled at what they do and theyre as nice as could be.

My 4 year old came home from Grandmas with a whacked out haircut. I get it- Covid, people are on budgets, etc...., but there was no way I was letting my child walk around looking like Moe from the Three Stooges.I looked them up, as they are super close to my house. Had awesome reviews, so I called and asked if they would do a child cut. Booked same day with Vicky and we arrived a few hours later.She was ready immediately to have him in the chair and was extremely patient and meticulous with him the entire time. Vicky and the other gentleman working were very kind, accomodating and there was no annoyance having a little person in the shop. (If my son would have been acting up, would have left quickly as not to aggrevate them, however!).The cost was low for how great our experience was overall. Very grateful we found them today and we will definitely be going back.If you bring a little, remember to tip appropriately for services :)

Decided to give this place a shot because of the good reviews. Been looking for a good barber shop to get my beard trimmed at and get the occasional trim for my really long hair. They did not disappoint in the least. The wait was about what I expected, not short, but not terribly long either. The staff were friendly, competent, and actually listened to what I wanted done. The conversation during the cut was good and it was overall a very satisfying experience. I will be back again.

This is what a barbershop should be. The wait wasnt too bad when I arrived. Two barbers were there and each had someone in their chair. I waited around 20-25 minutes. During the wait I noticed both Robert and Vicky were taking their time and had an attention to detail. When I was up, I received a great cut. It was just what I asked for. She was cautious about taking off too much, since it had been a while since my last cut and she made me feel like she really wanted to get it right by encouraging me to critique it in any way.The only reason this isnt an Excellent rating is because it was cash/check only. Id love to be able to use my card on a Square reader or something like that, but I do understand why they havent really bothered.Nonetheless, Ive found my local barbershop.

We found this awesome place by luck and based on the great reviews posted. Robert was amazing and did a phenomenal job with my sons hair, we took him to other salons and the stylists didnt feel confident cutting his very Curly hair. Were from out of state and willing to come here every few months so he can get his cuts here 😊

I started going to Jollyville Barber Shop a few months ago. Vicki has cut my hair twice and she does a great job. They are all very detailed in their cutting of hair. I would highly recommend them. They do get busy and it takes about 20 to 30 minutes for a hair cut.

Ive been to several barber shops in Austin including Birds, The Wooten, Redds, Floyds 99 and Avenue Barber Shop and none hold a candle. Not to metion a cut and beard trim only cost me $20 and they do strait razor shaves and cut the part with a strait razor. Thats unique for sure. This is a true old school shop. Skilled, experienced and true licensed barbers but stick with one of the guys to do the cut. I live downtown and make the drive to this shop.

The best place in town for a haircut. Dont even bother with the chain unisex salons. The people who work here are BARBERS and know how to cut mens hair. Guys, if you even remotely care about your appearance, get your hair cut at a barber shop and if youre in northwest Austin, Cedar Park, or Round Rock, stop in and say hi to Ty and the gang.

As mentioned previously, cash only business. They dont take reservations. But they do great work. Expect a 45minute-hour wait if you go during peak times, but its definitely worth it.

Decided to try this place since it is so close to my work. I was pretty displeased. Vickie did my hair. I brought in a picture for reference but still had to keep telling her to change things. She didnt clipper the sides short enough and when I told her she said to wait until she was done and then she could go shorter. So when she was done I told her to go shorter. The cut looked nothing like the picture I brought in. The barber in the back seemed to know what he was doing. Might have gone back to see him if I didnt have such a bad experience. Lots of old folks in this shop. Not for someone wanting a younger do. Looks like its back to Birds for me.

You will leave this place with a very good haircut, so let me explain the 3 star rating. Ive had my hair cut by 4 different barbers at this location. Only one time was I not pleased with my haircut, and it was the lady barber that cut it. The other 3 barbers were very good at cutting hair, but there were some issues with 2 of them. The barber in the back corner is a young guy with a lot tattoos and he I great a cutting hair. He started telling me some really weird stuff about how all the leaders of the world are aliens and lighter skinned people come from this alien royal bloodline. It was really tripped out and didnt really bother me a lot, but I think it would make some more conservative or older people uncomfortable. I havent seen him the past few times I have been in, so he may not work there anymore. The barber in the first chair when you walk in has cut my hair several times, and he always looks and acts pissed off. He is great at cutting hair, but he has lost his temper a few times when I have been in there, once while he was cutting my hair. Both times it made the whole shop uncomfortable, and I saw people walk out the last time It happened. He got pissed off because there were only two barbers in there, and he yelled, Ive got stuff to do and I dont want to be standing around here all day. This was in the middle of my hair cut. He then stared slamming stuff down, combing my hair real aggressively, huffing and puffing, etc. People started to walk out after his flare up. He did apologize to me, and my hair cut was really good. It was a pretty uncomfortable situation. They are also very busy most of the time, and most people are waiting on Ty, who is also the owner. He is excellent. I usually get my haircut there when visiting family, but I dont know if the wait time, stoner talk, and hostility is worth affordable-high quality haircut.

I have been going to this barber shop for 14 years now. I have had days where I wait 2-3 hours for ty, which can get very annoying but it doesn’t happen all the time because you have to know the right times to go. I have never seen racism, tempers, or any other such matter discussed in some of the low ratings in the reviews in the 14 years I have been going here. If you want a haircut from a man who really cares about customer satasfaction and precision, go to ty. I have never met someone as talented as him in this field. He is well worth the wait.

First time in an old school barbershop in Austin (actually first time in USA). Ty was very careful to details and conversation was very good as the haircut.

Gave this place a chance because of barber licensing. First haircut, gentleman didnt fulfill my request of not cutting a certain part of my hair, which he did, he apologized, its ok. So the second visit, aka jollyville barber redemption time, but thats not the case. The second visit the barber did not scissor cut top of my head, and I didnt find out till a day later, i went to make my do and realized there was to much hair on top to do what I always do. The frequency of errors this barber shop has lead me to believe that their is no notable difference between cosmologists and barbers. There is no difference between super cuts and these guys.

Ok 4.8 stars is a total lie! Nice people but damn the lady who did my hair totally did not know how to work with my headshape, I went home looked in the mirror the sides are uneven and unlclean with patches of hair still sticking out, very disappointed... I hated it, also I wanted to keep my top longer but she kept cutting anyways,Im sorry but I am never going back.
