The lady who cut my hair looked bothered to be cutting hair and looked like she didnt know what she was doing. I asked for a simple cut (3 faded to a 2 on the sides and just to blend in the top.) The lady took a total of 10 minutes. Trimmed the sides with a very bad fade, didnt touch or blend the top at all and barely paid attention to around the ears and neck area. I would have asked to fix it and at least blend the top but was not confident she would be able to do it well at all. Very unsatisfied and a waste of money. Will not come here again and if you want a good haircut I suggest you dont either.

They were quick and efficient but didnt take the time for detail. Tried to get suggestions on changing up my look with very little input. Great place if you know what you want and know how to tell them.

In spite of the Delta variant, breakthrough infections and low vaccinations etc., Floyds practices minimal Covid precautions. Expecting employees and customers to wear masks is entirely consistent with current science-based recommendations. It is absolutely not a matter of personal liberties; thats just an excuse.

Appointment was convenient, I was able to book the appointment an hour ahead before my cut. Had a good discussion with Saskia on the style of my haircut. She did an excellent job cutting my hair and gave me suggestions on how to maintain my hair. I feel like she went above and beyond because I got a little message on the shoulder (with massager) after the end of my cut. Would definitely recommend this place. Thank you.

This is my absolute favorite place to get my hair done now! Carra does a fantastic job on my hair and with the shop in general. I feel welcome and safe and always leave with a smile and a cute look! The quality is super professional here but with a laidback environment that is comfortable. I’ve recommended the spot to friends and they’ve also had glowing reviews. As a curly haired person, it’s hard to find someone I trust to cut it right and also to safely add color to my dark hair without damaging it. I mean wow! I will continue to return for all of my hair needs because Carra is simply the best!

Poor haircut, it looks butchered. She didnt at all follow what we asked for and even seemed bothered to be asked to take on a haircut. We didnt ask for anyone specifically, just first available. It was a huge mistake. If you actually know a specific stylist maybe the experience will be better.

If you’re going to this place for a walk-in be prepared to wait an hour at least, no matter how busy they may be.

Had a gentleman cut my hair and can easily say was the worst Ive ever gotten. Theres nothing worse than a bad haircut because you know that the barber would be offended if you told them that you strongly disliked it.However, if it were just a miscommunication, that would be a different story. Here, the entire haircut took 10 minutes, maximum. He gave me a haircut that not only looks bad (friends and family confirmed after the fact), but was not what I asked for. Will not be returning here, and my next stop is to a barber directly across the street to get a buzz cut and call it a day.

First time there I am impressed. Had Samaia and she did a great. Everyone is cool even tho its pretty busy. Ive only ever had 3 stylists and needed someone new. Im definitely going back.

I have used Floyds for many yrs and have always walked away with a great cut. Being a man of 60+ yrs, I always tell Shay (my barber), Its your job to make this old man handsome or sexy! She has never failed me. I normally have hair to my collar, but today I asked her to also give it a fresh vibe. Wow! Wow! She did just that, it isnt spikey (Im too old for that), but it sticks up just a little in the front. It looks great! As I said, her name is Shay, and she is a fantastic barber. She not only made me look handsome & sexy, but 10 yrs younger!!!

My barber was super kind, patient, worked very hard to give me the closest look possible to what I wanted, very talented and caring, even brought me in early and worked on me instead of making me stand outside waiting for the appointment. Richard is someone I hope to have again.The only reason Im not giving 5 stars is because the online service was not done well.

Made an appointment. Was told 6:30pm. Put it in calendar. Show up. Get told I was late. Ask why. Appointment was 4:30pm! Said there’s no way they could have made a mistake. Gets defensive. Doesn’t offer immediate help. Terrible customer service.

Floyd’s never disappoints. They’ve been cutting my twin boys’ hair for the last 5 years and always do a great job. While their target clientele isn’t kids the barbers are always so kind and patient. Highly recommend.

I followed my Hairstylist Elizabeth F. down to this location because no one in my 37 years of living has ever made me beautiful like she does. The staff was fun and friendly and was able to accommodate me last minute even. Miss Elizabeth mixed up the color I requested right there, and I swear whatever you do to my hair cut now only makes it look better! You cant mess this thing up. Even though its a much further drive then where I used to go Ill be back every time!

Expensive for a guy who gets cheap haircuts, but awesome and kinda worth it. Person who cut my hair was very nice and did a great job and the hot towel and massage kinda made the price ok. I would advise giving it a try.

Like many others have stated, I get charged a different price for the same haircut every time I go here. The people that work here are less than pleasant to the point of being rude. Support local barbers and dont waste your time at this garbage chain that you find anywhere in America.

Ive never had a bad experience at Floyds. Shay always takes impeccable care of me and I leave feeling incredible. All the staff are friendly, check-ins are easy, getting an appointment is simple with their app, and the atmosphere is fun.

Floyds on N Lamar is very lucky to have the staff they do. From the front desk, to the barber/stylists, I always get great customer service. I believe Itri is the best in the business when cutting hair. I have been coming to him for the last 3-4 years, every 2 weeks like clock work for my fade. Dont think you can walk in and snag him, Itri is highly sought after and nearly always booked solid. Youll want to call ahead or even better book on the App or online 5-7 days out. Believe me, its worth it. I live on WC and Congress and make the trip because hes that good. Enough good things can not be said: Itri is a wizard, hes not just in the hair styling/barber business- he is in the Self confidence business. Do yourself a favor!

Without reservation, this was the worst experience Ive had in a barbershop. And it was specifically do to the hair dresser Itri E. and the front desk person.Itri cut my hair alright but his attitude was the worst Ive encountered. He started cutting my hair without asking me how I wanted it, he started using the clipper when I expressly told him not to. However he responded that it was fine, that I should not worry. I tried standing up but he aggressively pushed me back into the chair and told me to relax and continued cutting my hair. I let it go and told him to not cut it too short or too long, and he mockingly made fun of my expression. He turned my chair so that I would not see the haircut in the mirror while he was working. I asked him to turn me facing the mirror and he ignored me. After a while I turned myself facing the mirror and he violently turned me back. Again, I let it go. After he was finished he put me down to shampoo my hair without asking me if the hair was final and looked fine. I told him that I wanted to see my hair before shampooing. He made a face with disgust and waited for me with his arms crossed. Once he was done with the shampooing he left the chair, without asking me if I needed something else, and went to the front desk.He waited for me to go to the front desk and was standing right beside me while I took out my wallet. I felt pressured to give him a tip by the way he looked at me and smiled. (By the way, this hair dresser had more than 5 posters in his stand indicating that he appreciated tips in cash) I shuffled through my wallet to make him leave and once he left I gave my card to the receptionist. The receptionist asked me if I wanted to give a tip and I said no. He then said in a loud voice, you are not leaving a tip? And I replied no. He then said in a loud voice, since you are not leaving a tip then press other in the monitor.I felt mistreated and embarrassed during my visit and I wish to warn other customers from not going with Itri.

Knowing the Barbers schedules and the ability to make a convenient appointment is everything. The staff makes you feel like theyre actually awaiting your arrival and Sonia is masterful with the blades and razor!

Unsatisfactory for the price. First time at this shop, and I was not impressed. I scheduled an appointment and still had to wait for an available barber. Three customers came in after me and were seated before I was. My barber did an ok job on my fade, but for their price I shouldn’t have any noticeable lines. For the skin fade, I never saw the barber change out the straight edge blade for a clean one. I don’t know if it was just cheap cream or lack of skill, but the straight edge felt like a dry shave and my neck is currently on fire and rashy. To top it off, I was cut twice with a blade I wasn’t even positive was clean. Would have been better off going to a chain barber. Even if the fade was trash, at least I wouldn’t get cut...

Gotta make an appointment! Theyre so busy, but 100% worth it.

Space was super clean and felt well prepared for covid era cuts. Was in and out quickly with a great new cut. They did use small hair dryers to clear off hair, which I assume are low powered, but felt like the only odd/uncomfortable part of the experience. Otherwise really happy.

I was visiting Austin and desperately needed a haircut. I tried 4 other salons/barbershops that day and thankfully Floyd’s took me as a walk-in, despite the place being packed. I was so relieved. Kassandra did my cut and not only did she do a great job, but she was a joy to converse with. I would definitely recommend her and look forward to having her again when I’m back in town. Itri is amazing!! Been cutting my hair over a year and a half now!! It’s always hard for me to find a barber who knows how to handle my type of hair (Thick/curly/wavy/coarse), but he knows exactly what to do. Highly recommend Itri!!

I recently patronized this fine establishment for a fade. I was assigned the prodigious Richard Flores as my stylist. I have never been more utterly pleased in all my life with a haircut and stylist. Diffidence has always characterized my approach at my work business meetings, but since this cut, I have been unexpectedly infused with massive amounts of confidence and now I give presentations and meet with clients with great alacrity.

Have gotten my hair cut here before when it was short and it was always solid. I have long hair (past my shoulders) now with an undercut. All I wanted was my undercut With a little fade. Never has been a problem. Now i need an entire new undercut line and a good amount of my 2+ year worth of growth off. Idk if it was because of the mask but I’m so disappointed and they don’t offer refunds on hair cuts... I wouldn’t let anyone there touch my hair again so they could fix it. I had to book an apt with my normal barber which isn’t available for over 2 weeks, pay for a second hair cut and raise my entire undercut up to fix the jagged line I was left with. Good thing I can wear it down! Really mad I paid 30$ for me not to be able to wear my hair up this summer

She knows her stuff like no other and is very good at understanding what Im wanting even though I dont know how to explain it very well. Hope she never leaves.

No, Floyds is not the owner of this barbershop and he doesnt have 99 barbers (although with that number of barbers, it would be nice knowing that I wouldnt have to wait!). I never gave this barbershop a try until a friend of mine recommended it to me and since I live close by, why not test it out?There are about 15 barbers (again, not 99 ) and the system they use is an interesting one. Option 1: You can only set up same-day appointments and they book up quickly. Option 2: Call-in 30 minutes before you show up if you dont mind which barber cuts your hair--so far, all the barbers Ive had were pretty great! The benefit to this option is you dont have to wait as long when you actually arrive, and if you are really lucky, you might not have to wait at all!I usually give my barbers an idea of how I would like to cut my hair and it ends up nothing like what I imagine but I havent had that happen here yet. The barbers are knowledgeable and quick too. Haircuts here take a max of 25 minutes and the quality for the price is a super deal. For those who are first-timers, let them know so theyll give you a complimentary hair wash and...wait for it...theyll give you coupons for future visits (pretty sweet, right?). If coupons arent enough, the complimentary neck shave and massage at the end should hit the spot. All in all, my experience at Floyds 99 has been positive and I will be coming back.

Very hurt leaving Floyds today. I have brought my son here since we moved to Rosedale over a year ago. Several of the stylists know him and we have always had a great experience. Today we called ahead for my son, my daughter (first haircut!), and myself to all get cuts. My son and daughter went first and the ladies were so sweet. Then it was my turn. I havent gotten a haircut in over a year because of cost and the fact that I am a single mom, and lest be real, its hard to get time to do things like that. All the stylists were so very sweet about the whole process. They assured me that they would all keep an eye on the kids (along with me), brought out toys, and honestly my my kids were GREAT. I always get nervous my kids will act up, but they were so sweet and were very well behaved. I got no comments from anyone, staff or customers, about them other then how cute they were. About ten minutes before we left a lady joined the building. She had very dark, straight, mid length hair. Im assuming she was a manager of some sort as she was not cutting hair. As I was finishing my kids got SLIGHTLY antsy and ran for the first time since being there (for over an hour all together). I quickly told them not to run and they stopped. Done. I was so happy with my cut, that I finally treated myself to!! I got in line to pay ($100 was spend in this establishment today). As Im checking out this black haired lady had the audacity to tell me that if I planned on coming back there for another service I should arrange for a babysitter so my kids are not a liability. I was taken aback. She probably had no idea that my two children that were such a problem also received haircuts. I told her that that was not an option for me, and that everyone else there (besides her) had been delighted with my kids and very sweet to them and me. I came to spoil myself and my children and left hurt that someone would be so rude. Especially for something that wasnt even a problem. My kids had been GREAT and I brought them to get haircuts themselves, so why would I leave them home?? Maybe she didnt even realize how hurtful she was being, that I spent my time and money in her salon only to be shamed as a mother. I left in tears, instead of being able to enjoy my new haircut, and my time spent there.

Cool place, great prices and quality service. I have coarse, curly hair and I went to a few places before I felt like anyone knew what to do with it. Ana has been awesome and takes care of my hair, just the way I like it. And, their products are actually awesome. Natural and fairly priced, but they are actually great on your hair too. My hair is very dry, so I use their shampoo, conditioner and leave-in conditioner called Refresh. Refresh is great for a lot, like after shave lotion too. Its been great going there.

There is a hairdresser there named Rhiannon. She is now the ONLY person I trust to cut my hair. I have been to so many different places around Austin, and she is the only person that has been able to give me the haircut I really want EVERY SINGLE TIME! Incredible work and the atmosphere of the shop is open and friendly. LOVE HER, LOVE FLOYDS. Thanks for the killer cuts, Rhiannon!

When you want the cleanest fade in Austin (or just an amazing haircut) in a trendy venue.Saskia has been my ride or die for about a year now so when she told me she was working at Floyds, I knew I was in for a treat. Walking in, its like an aesthetic primer on everything Austin. Very casual, everyone is friendly and professional. Wherever she goes, I go (as the tradition goes with barbers), but Floyds is a tough venue to beat when it comes to best haircuts in Austin.

Each stylist has a subtle but appreciably different style, and the quality is consistently high.Haircuts don’t feel rushed, the shampoo and hot towel is excellent, and the stylists never seem to try and push their hair products too hard (a small, but annoying detail at a lot of other barber shops). I’ll definitely continue to come back here.

One of the benefits of a chain is supposed to be consistency. Regardless of location, you have a general sense of what youll receive as a customer.Having just moved from Orlando to Austin, I expected the same level of service, if not better, because people in Austin have been so warm and friendly.However, this location is not warm or friendly like the rest of the city. Nor did my stylist, Ana, seem to genuinely care about whether or not I liked my cut. She scolded me on multiple occasions because she thought I was turning my head while she was cutting. I dont think I was, but Im not perfect so its definitely possible. Regardless, I dont like being spoken to like a misbehaving child.They also charge you for things like a hard part without telling you it will add 20% to the price of your haircut.Just very disappointed my Orlando experience didnt transfer to Austin. And in this location and the people who work here.
