Phyllis is a one of a kind! I truly enjoyed the experience I had as a client. I went to another barber and got chopped up pretty badly. Once I started going to Duval, I started getting consistently good quality cuts at a fair price. 5 Stars!

Im not much for reviews but Ive been with Phyllis for 3 years and hands down she is the best barber I have ever had. She offers great quality service, and wholesome connections. Always caring and understanding and will give you the look that you will without a doubt love. She remembers her clients and what they talked about (if you prefer talking) and will pick up where you left off even if you come back over a month later. If anything at all, I know you will not regret stopping by and giving her a visit.

I HIGHLY recommend giving Phyllis a try. She knows which hairstyle would best match your face shape and will recommend it on your first visit. Every time after that, she will remember you and ask if you want the same thing as last time.After my first visit, my girlfriend told me I needed to get my haircut from Phyllis from now on, so I have been going to her for a little over a year now. Having experienced the full range of haircut experiences from salons to national brand barbers, my opinion is that Phyllis Nuñez has given the best of any of those past haircuts. Frankly, the consistency of the haircut is fantastic. One of the best experiences when coming in for a haircut, is knowing that youll wake up tomorrow and your hair will still look as great as when you left the chair the day before. Phyllis asks you the right questions to get to know your hair and how you like it and gives a great cut. She will analyze how your hair grows, the direction of growth, how you style it, etc. to make sure you get a cut that suits your face. Decent price. Tips: Additional parking in the back, free drinks available while you wait, and call or check her website before going to make sure she isn’t on vacation.

Phyllis has been cutting my hair for 16 years. She takes an interest in her clients and you feel cared for here. She gives me a consistently good-looking cut every time.One nice feature of the property is that it has sinks so she can rinse out your cut hair before going back to the office (no more shedding).

Phyllis completely disregarded what I had asked for when I first sat down in her chair. I pointed out a simple part I have in my hair and asked her to maintain it and keep the very modest combover I had going, while taking just a bit off the top. She proceeded to power right through the part with her clippers that she claimed were better than the previous barber shop I went to, and she cut the top so short I look like I just joined the marines. I held my tongue the entire time because I thought Id be paying a small bill on the order of 12 dollars, but when she slammed me with $25 for a 5 minute haircut I was pissed to say the least.Would not recommend Phyllis barber shop unless youre going for a buzz cut.

Would highly recommend Phyllis to anyone looking for a consistently great haircut. She is exactly what you hope for in a barber. The first time I came in she asked if I wanted advice. Of course I took it, and Ihave been getting the usual since. Shes happy to hold a conversation, but also happy to let you close your eyes and relax if thats your mood. I have been going to her for my haircut for quite awhile. On the off chance I need a hair cut out of town Im always impatient waiting for my hair to grow back out so she can fix it.

Hands down the best barbershop in Austin. I couldnt be more pleased with this discovery. Haircuts are quick, yet skillfully done. What really sets this place apart though is the service. The woman who runs the place works with you to determine a haircut that works for your face shape, and better yet, shell remember your signature cut for the next time you come in. It only took me two visits before I felt like a regular. In addition, this place offers a good discount for UT students, they are definitely trying to cater to the student body! I urge anyone interested in a sharp, well executed cut to give this place a shot- you wont be disappointed.
