I was visiting Austin and needed a haircut. I was a walk in and I was able to get in right away. The haircut was one of the best haircuts I’ve ever gotten. I’ve been in search of a new place to get a fade/haircut after disappointing experiences at Luis Corner Barbershop and South Austin Barbershop (Stassney). After reading the great DNA reviews, I called to inquire about price ($27) and if an appointment was required. An appointment is not necessary and there was no wait when I arrived. I got Albert who gave me an excellent skin mid fade haircut. He was welcoming, affable, and attentive to details- definitely a well practiced professional. 👌🏽

I have been to many of the other big chain barbershops in Austin and I can say with confidence that Austin DNA Barbershop has the best customer service with the most consistent haircuts. The shop is self is very clean with a nice atmosphere, as well as the barbers are professional and use high quality products. I would not go anywhere else!

Only came because of good reviews about Dave.I get home and notice the line around the ear has been cut way up almost like a V-shape above my ear and line going down the side is not done properly :(Line at the back is ok. He hurried with this cut. 32 bucks for this with tip.

Friendly and professional, but instead of cleaning up and shaping my beard as I asked, started cutting in higher up to somehow layer it.(?) Added product that looked ok until I washed it out, and found tuffs and divits. I had to clean it up, and now the huge quarantine beard just looks wonky. Ive come to a realization that the best person to trim a big beard is yourself. He was very nice, but nice is beside the point.

My new favorite place for a great trim and maintenance. Dave is a normal guy and easy to talk to. The shop is wide open and he keeps it super clean. During these unprecedented times its very comforting.Pricing is great and the wife has given her overall approval as this being the best haircut/fade yet. Couldn’t possibly be the best rated barbershop in Austin. Basically just an average haircut from a chain barbershop. I was in and out of the chair in 10 min, he didn’t line up the back, took a razor to my beard for 2 sec and faded it terribly and there’s hair all down my neck. Not sure if it’s because I wasn’t local or it was something I said but it just seemed like he didn’t care. Will not be going back, ever...Ambiance was cool and they were accommodating to me as I was a walk-in on a road-trip.

The attached photo is from the grand opening, which had live music and a huge crowd!Make sure you check out the back waiting area with different spaces for adults and for kids. Great place for a cut! Ever since moving to Austin earlier this year, Ive been bouncing around barbers around the area but I finally found a barbershop where I feel completely comfortable. The guys here are always friendly, safe during these times, quick, and skilled with their craft. Would definitely recommend!

They did a wonderful job on both of my boys hair. We definitely will be going back to them the next time they need a cut. (My boys are 3yrs & 5yrs old) They made sure my kids were comfortable and felt safe. They also gave them some candy and a toy after they got their cuts. Definitely giving this place a 5/5 star rating!

Austin DNA has been my go-to place for haircut since I moved to Austin. All the barbers and owner are friendly. The place is always clean and has tons of snacks and drinks.The only thing that I didnt like during the pandemic is non-enforcement of masks. I get that its the managements decision, but as a customer can feel much safe if everyone in the store (including customers) wear masks at all times.

David Ray is an amazing barber and I love his new shop. Ive been a customer of his for over 5 years and Im happy I can book him at his own shop now.

Austin DNA Barbershop has created an amazingly unique atmosphere and experience for their patrons. Their shop is clean, creative and perfect for both adults and children. With that said, the shop isnt the best part, the talent of the barbers is hands down the best part. If you live in North Austin and are looking for a barber for you and your son, check them out. DONT GO HEREI asked for half an inch off the top after not having a haircut for 2 months. The barber was in his own world and decided I was going to look like I joined a military academy. Don’t go here unless that is EXACTLY what you wanted anyway. If I could, I’d give them negative stars. This is the single WORST haircut I’ve ever had

As a resident of Austin for 11 years I am proud to call this place my barbershop of choice. The barbers here are friendly and funny. They are actually engaging in conversation and pay such great attention to detail. Their work quality is insanely good! I cannot say the same for other places in town.I feel so much more confident about the way I look, and my girlfriend loves my haircuts whenever I get them now. People actually ask me, a person with no clue on how to style hair, where I get my hair worked on. This is the hidden gem of Austin barbershops, and I am so glad I can get my haircut here.

What I like even better is when he advises you against certain things to sort of save you from yourself. I am in Austin on a business trip and actually volunteered my head for practice by my nephew back home. Even though he did his best, I needed to get it fixed. There are so many places in Austin that I could have gone, but ended up here and boy was I happy. I just got my cut by Brando - let me tell you, this guy is awesome. Not only did he take care of my messed up cut but he actually took his time and fixed every part of my head. I moved to Austin in January 2016. I needed to find a new barber. Someone recommended a barbershop to me so I looked it up. One of the reviews I read said how great David was and specifically mentioned he was great with beards. So I called him up and David has been taking care of me ever since. David is passionate about his craft and is really good at what he does. But the reason I go see David is because hes an incredible human being and I enjoy our visits. When David struck out to open his own shop, I followed. His barber shop is perfect. Clean, comfortable, inviting. Just a really cool vibe. Give David a chance and youll find a barber for life like I did.

Stumbled across Austin DNA while on vacation and so glad we did. It was my nephews first trip to a REAL barber. Columbo took good care of him, his attention to detail was superb. Im being told well have to return to Austin for another haircut before school starts.

Best Barber Ive gone to in years. Anyone who has a hairstyle more complicated than a buzz cut will tell you that getting a good barber can be a challenge - David is a great one. Knows his stuff, and is oozing with old school charm. The prices are better than youll see at Birds or other chains in that vein. I definitely will be going back.

Best barbershop in town! As an Austin native, Ive gotten my haircut at a lot of different shops over the years but never found one that captured my loyalty. Ive been going to Dave for almost 4 years now and my 2 year old son just got his first cut a few weeks ago. I always get a great cut and occasionally an amazing shave. I dont have a sweet beard (yet) but my friends that do say the beard carving and beard care advice Dave offers is game changing. The new shop is top notch and Daves service is unparalleled. Dave somehow designed the shop in a way that is sophisticated and comfortable for adults but kid friendly at the same time. One of the best places to get a hair and beard trim. David knows his profession very well and has superb customer service. Hes been the only person to touch my long beard for the last few years. He gives out great advice for maintaining your beard and hair. If he does something my wife doesnt like, he is quick to fix it. :p

I saw all the great reviews about Austin DNA Barbershop and decided to give it a try. I was very disappointed with my visit. My haircut was rushed, finished within 15 minutes. Barber had poor scissor handling techniques. Trimmed my top very sloppy and unevenly. Worst part was the haircut was very expensive for the service I received. Wont be coming back.
