Kept me informed on the progress the entire time. First time I had not gone to dealership for my yearly maintenance (Mercedes) and it saved me several hundred dollars. I will be back!

Edgestone Automotive has been my familys go-to mechanic for years, and they have done repairs on my own car a handful of times. As a whole, they do quality and consistent work.However, I regret to say that not me nor any member of my family will be bringing any of our cars to Edgestone ever again. While they provide a high quality service, they do so at a price that is less than fair, and they make sure to up-charge as much as possible.Recently, I brought in my car because it was noticeably louder than usual (turns out I needed new wheel bearings). When asked if I had any other concerns, I mistakenly mentioned one of my sensors was tripped (not broken) as well. Edgestone charged me $69 to diagnose the noise and ANOTHER $69 to diagnose the sensor. When I called to ask about this (assuming I must have accidentally been double charged), I was assured that this was in fact intentional, as it took them an hour to reset my sensor (this is a blatant lie).In addition, they quoted me $99.47 to change my air filter and $122.26 to change my cabin air filter (both of these are very cheap and take less than ten minutes to do yourself). Comparatively, my brother was quoted $24.95 to have his air filter replaced at a Mienke Car Center.Please do yourself a favor and take your car somewhere else. There are other repair shops in the area that will do high quality work for a price that is actually fair.

Great service. They were able to complete my Volvos scheduled maintenance for less than the dealer quoted me. After talking to the guys while I waited it seems they are under new ownership and exactly what this area needed. Good honest mechanics are great. They showed me pictures of each important step they completed. Im going to need new brakes soon but they showed me how much pad I had left instead to replacing parts I dont need yet. This last time I had to have a bit more work done than usual and I was nervous since most places I had ever gone to weren’t honest. Edgestone has always been honest and told when I did and didn’t need something repaired. They are very punctual and keep me updated the entire time. My Edgestone experience was dreadful (detailed below) so I couldn’t understand how they had so many 5 star ratings?! So I dug deeper. And then it made sense!This business changed hands at the end of 2016 and the vast majority of their 4 and 5 star ratings are more than 2 years old and come from when this business was Ben White Motors. These new owners and staff have earned virtually no rave reviews since owning the business. They are trading off the great reputation of the previous owners and staff!!! Check out the age of the positive reviews for yourself and be warned. You will NOT be dealing with the Ben White crew who earned those positive reviews. I was fooled; make sure you are not.After 4 visits - yes 4 - they were still unable to fix the same problem. The owner Joe Ware then blamed ME for not leaving my vehicle with them for long enough. I didn’t determine how long I needed to be there!!!! His daughter, who ‘mans’ the front desk, told me on every occasion how much time they needed to fix the issue. And even though they begrudgingly refunded me some of what I’d paid them, as I was leaving Mr Ware spat out the words “you are walking out of here with $200 of my money.” What? Seriously?Mr Ware what do you think hours and hours of my time are worth? Nothing? I gave you 4 chances to fix the problem. How many more times did you expect me to drive back and forth to your lousy shop? And did you deduct labor costs? No! Just parts, so I paid for labor and I still have the problem I came to you with in the first place.Serves me right. I should have gone to Honda in the first place and not risked my vehicle’s maintenance with a little local outfit. These are hours and hours of my life that I’ll never get back.PS: And as for the “rack and pinion” you claimed I needed replacing in the “free” inspection I never asked for. Guess what? Honda replaced that less than 2 years ago and it’s just fine. Interesting!

Gary was very helpful in educating me about the recommended oil & filter to maximize the life of my engine on my 2013 Ford F-150 Truck. Very pleased with service at Ben White Automotive. Took my 2003 Honda Pilot in to get SRS and check engine lights addressed. They had to replace drivers side seat belt clasp and reset check engine light b/c place I had oil changed didnt do it properly. Gary was very helpful and knowledgeable, will be back when I need more service on both cars:)

Just bought an Infiniti Q70 and took my car there because its close to my house.Clean shop.I made an appointment, took it in at the appointed time, and they looked at my car right away.They spent at least 30 minutes on it and didnt charge me a thing for the check up.Later I took the car back to have the brake job they recommended. I was in and out within 2 hours.They even let me look under the car when it was lifted to take some pictures.Very professional, clean work, fast, affordable.Both times I went there, I noticed only high end cars there. Probably a reason for that... because people with high end cars want it done right and dont want to pay a stealership for b.s.I will be going back.
Took my 2011 BMW 528I that had a blown engine at only 90k miles. BMW dealer gave me run around. Refused to acknowledge faulty engine in which cam shaft bolts sheared off ( BMW recall ). Edgestone replaced engine. Runs great. Honest, professional service. Would use them again

I recently moved to Austin, TX close to the business where I had my 2007 Chevy Silverado Diesel serviced for AC blower issues. The service manager Gary gave me a projected cost for the repairs, but also advised if I did not need certain parts that I ordered, the final cost would be adjusted. Gary was true to his word and the total cost would be approximately $300.00 cheaper than originally quoted. This first impression and honesty presented to me will have a lasting effect on me utilizing and recommending Ben White Automotive to friends and family for future repairs. The shop not only diagnoses (precisely) the existing issues with a vehicle, it anticipates the emerging ones and prepares the owner for when and how those may present. We had a technical appraisal from a different vendor re a car we were in the midst of buying. It was high and alarming, in such a way, that was persuading us not to buy the car. Having just moved into the US and Austin, we required good advise and service. My wife saw the premises of Ben White Automotive and she asked Gary Anders who immediately offered some advise. Afterwards, Gary provided an appraisal based on the prior one and called me directly to thoroughly explain. Afterwards, we came back for a formal appraisal which Gary performed professionally in all aspects. He provided a quote before moving forward and resulted in a lesser amount from the appraisal of the other vendor. We finally bought the car based on his assessment and the car seems to be in great conditions so far. Gary delivered on time and quality as he committed to do so. From now on, we will take my wifes car for regular maintenance only at Ben White Automotive and perhaps mine as well.
This location is conveniently located near my work, so that is already a plus. The guys in the shop were nice and clear with what needed to be done to my car. They didnt do any unnecessary work and did it in a timely fashion. I will be back when its time for servicing.
Ben White Automotive has fixed a problem with my car that 3 other shops failed to diagnose or fix. I took my car in on a Wednesday afternoon and talked with Gary, they had the car diagnosed correctly that afternoon with a quote, and they fixed the problem on Thursday at the exact cost they quoted.My car was running extremely rough and had no power. Gary and the team found the problem and fixed damaged wiring. The car now has full power and runs better than when I first bought it.Gary was very knowledgeable and communicated all items with me and gave me confidence with the shop and all procedures taken by the technicians.I will take my cars to Ben White Automotive from now on.

I called Ben White Automotive when my vehicle was clearly well over-due for a brake check and repair. Bobby was extremely helpful over the phone and helped me to pre-determine what type of repair work and cost I was in for. Bobby and the mechanics at BWA made sure that I was well aware of the repairs, the warranty on parts and what to expect after the repairs. They reminded me to pop in anytime if I had any questions regarding my recent check engine light or my new brake pads and rotors. Because this was a last minute and intense repair for my vehicle, I wasnt as well prepared as I should have been in regards to finding transportation to and from work that day. Bobby and his staff ensured I got to where I needed to go quickly and on time. They also made sure I had arrangements to get back to my vehicle. I cant say enough about the amazing customer service, on all levels...and my vehicle feels like new again!
All the horror stories you hear about mechanics are confirmed with this place. Theyve lied to me, kept my vehicle for weeks with no fix, and tried to overcharge me for things they never talked to me about.I would not come back here again. I went in with a ticking noise from my engine and, $1200 later, have an engine thats taken apart on my Honda as its towed away. The engine damage may not have been their fault, but the customer service was extremely poor, communication was practically nonexistent, and their prices were pretty much outrageous. Ill go through a quick rundown of what happened:I dropped off my van to have a ticking sound diagnosed and fixed. Gary goes back to look at what may be causing it, I assume, and he comes back saying Hondas put out a service bulletin and that they could get it fixed by the next day for $700. A little high, but Im not going somewhere else at 5:45, and it needed to be done pretty much then. So, I go with it. They get to work on tearing it down, and I figure I have my van the next day. But, nothing. So I call the day after that, trying to find out what the deal is. Gary then tells me that he had to order some bolts, and it would be $400 more than initially estimated. At this point, Im getting The next day, nothing again. The day after, I call again and find out that the bolts came in, and theyre going to get it done. Gary calls me back saying that, once they got the bolts on and the engine back together, they drove it out on the highway and found a knocking sound. He wants to tear it back down to see what the deal is. To make a long story a little shorter, I dont hear anything for another day, and he says I need a new engine. He doesnt tell me a good reason why, so I make another visit to the shop. Gary walks me through what theyve done, what they found, and how his heart bleeds for me because, supposedly, all he can do is charge me ANOTHER 5 grand to drop the engine out and replace it. There is one other option, but of course the best is to replace the whole engine. I do a little research, ask a mechanic friend of mine to take a look, and we come up with some other options, that he apparently hadnt thought of. So, at this point, theyve had my van in their shop for nearly two weeks, hes telling me I need to pay them $6,000 to get my van working like it should.No thanks. Ill try it myself with a friend, and if it doesnt work from there, Ill sink another couple grand in it somewhere else. So I arrange to get it towed away and show up to find out that the financing they have advertised in their window (and on their initial paperwork) is apparently not offered under the new management. Ill manage, but it would be nice if what they advertise to actually be available. Oh, and that doesnt even get into the magically changing total they gave me. I literally have an invoice/estimate with $400 of parts, but the final invoice I have has parts of half that and labor more than double the invoice I have. I dont even know how they come up with their numbers, but it seems like they make it up on the spot.TL:DR--Since breaking off from Ben White Automotive, its gone downhill. Theyve lied to me, dont have consistent charges, their policies are fluid, and the customer service is nonexistent. I wont go there again, ever, and I suggest you dont either. Try someplace with some honesty.

Took our vehicle in for an oil change, and requested they check the shaking feeling we recently noticed. Diagnosed and fixed the issue, but not before checking with the dealer to determine if the issue was under warranty or recall. Very professional.
