Trash security in building. Multiple break-ins in the garage. Car windows smashed to steal air bags from them. Multiple bikes stolen from fob-access bike storage room. We were prompted to contact management regarding the bikes stolen. Management’s response was that they are not installing any security cameras, they don’t have footage of anyone walking out of the premises with, not one, MULTIPLE bikes and that it most likely was a resident that broke into the storage room and cut off all the bike locks. For all I know, anyone can get into the building and break into your apartment. Hopefully all they get is stolen property. He basically said they are not doing anything to improve building security and are very vocal about them not advertising security as a pro to living here, despite the fact that they did advertise how safe it was to leave the bikes in the secure storage room when we originally toured. That’s pretty much everything the building manager had to say about almost $3,000 of property stolen from their secure room only in bikes that belonged to us. This does not account for my neighbors’.
Nice community, spacious rooms but beware of bad management. This review is mainly for the severe lack of response from building management who Ive addressed on three separate occasions to fix a leak from their machine room that is adjacent to my apartment. Water has flooded into the hallway twice and management just lets it sit there instead of getting a fan to dry it up causing the drywall to warp and the water to possibly leak into other apartments
Overall the Madison at Ballston Station is an excellent community. The apartments still feel fairly new. There have been very few issues with the apartment itself and Management/Maintenance always quickly responds to any requests or inquiries. The gym is a great amenity as its definitely a step above most hotels or other older apartment building offerings. The coffee machine will be a great perk once COVID relents. Everyone within the building itself has been extremely friendly.
Ive had a good experience overall at the Madison and would recommend to others.Pros:- The neighborhood feels safe.- Its in a good location.- The apartments are very nice.- The amenities are very good- The maintenance team is awesome; they always respond quickly to maintenance requests.- Management is excellent- The grounds are very nice and well keptCons:- Its pretty pricey- The parking fees are too high- Its a little dark in the apartment
Ive lived here since March 2020 and overall had a good experience.Pros: Quiet building except noises from the hallway, big kitchen, nice suburban neighborhood near the city, underground parking.Cons: Expensive for not very big apartments, a little crime (multiple people on our floor had their welcome mats stolen, and the underground garage had a break-in where multiple peoples airbags were stolen, however even after that I feel pretty safe living in this building), fire alarm goes off a couple times a month (though we got an email stating that was because of tenants mishandling smokey kitchens), and a con specifically for my apartment is that its very dark. Dont let the apartments with the balconies fool you, if the apartment has a balcony that means most of your open sky is covered by the next building.Although that cons list is a bit longer, I have enjoyed living here especially with a dog. The neighborhood feels safe and I often walk my dog very late at night. Also, lubber park is nearby which is great for dogs and young children. I would recommend this building to anyone who can afford it. Most of the cons are more nuisances than deal breakers (except maybe the air bags but that only happened once).I am planning on moving out after my lease, but thats because my apartment is too dark. If any of the open apartments were a little cheaper I would absolutely do a lateral move and stay in this building.
The Madison at Ballston, the name is a regal as the community lends itself. I moved in about a month ago (during the pandemic mind you) and have only wonderful words to share about this property. The proximity (walk score), to Ballston Quarter, nearby shops, dining and bike trail is paramount to nearby neighborhoods Clarendon and Courthouse where I’ve also lived. The neighbors are respectful (wear masks), ask before jumping on the elevator, and generally seem to get a long.Although the gym has restrictions —it’s a nice amenity considering most of us are now working from home. Also the concierge go out of their way to help with packages, the sakes team is super helpful tracking down info and the property itself is super well maintained. If you’re looking for a residence where you’ll feel at home while nestled in the thick of things consider the Madison—it declares independent living its virtue.
All aspects of moving to this community were easy and provided complete satisfaction. Specific commendable performance from Paula and Josephine. Thank you for your facilitating my move. I look forward to being a member of the Madison community.
Excellent customer service by the leasing and management staff. Buildings are very clean and taken care off. The only issue I feel is that downstairs neighbor complaining about my pet running around, even though every other apartment has a dog. I still hear noises from my upstairs neighbors but I do not complain nor does it bother me that much. Mariana from the leasing office is extremely polite, professional, and helpful. The same goes for all the staff who work here. I have been enjoying my stay very much.
I lived at the Madison for over five years and I could not have been more lucky to call this place home. The staff are some of the most wonderful people I have ever met, the buildings are safe and always clean, the residents are polite, and the location is perfect. You will not regret living at the Madison!
I called the office the 21 of Febuary because i needed my vents to be cleaned because something is blocking the air flow and my sons room is very cold they havent come to fix it yet. Since i moved here there has been a lot of noise coming from my 425 they make noise every day until 3am and i cant get any sleep i have contacted the office because of this and they havent done anything about it. it was febuary 21 Me and my son were sleeping it was around 2:30 am when we hear someone trying to enter our apartment we were very scared they started knocking really loud i called the office and they said itwasnt an emergency and that i had to call 911 and the police never came i dont reccomend this place to anybody its very dangeorous i cant sleep and im still scared.
I lived at The Madison for about 6 months. It is a fantastic apartment building. Clean, accepts and securely stores packages, front desk person at both buildings. The staff went above and beyond to deal with a few special requests I had, the location is incredible. The only complaint I have is they need better lighting in the common hallways. A+ place!
It used to be okay, but management at Madison at Ballston has now become absolutely terrible. Our A/C has been down for 6 days, in the middle of 90 degree DC summer, and we are still stuck with a tiny portable air unit that doesnt cool half of our unit. This is in spite of maintenances promise that they would be able to secure parts for the A/C unit within two days. Two days have passed and they have not reached out to provide update, until we had to call them to find out that it will take them another week to secure the parts. It is like they have completely forgotten about our maintenance request, and dont bother to proactively provide updates to tenants crucial basic needs the way a proper management would do. Very disappointing, and I advise to think twice before moving in here.
This is a terrible place to live in there are always fire alarms going off i was sleeping one day and it was 3am and the fire alarm went off my son couldnt sleep. They shpuld put protection on the fire alarm handles so no one can touch it.
We live at Madison since last July. We are highly satisfied and very happy for our apartment because is very comfortable. The appliances are all in excellent conditions and the building is very clean. The location is great and we feel like at our home. We love the complimentary coffee at the morning and attend the events organized by the management. With regard to this the management pays attention to every request and the maintenance is very satisfactory. We would recommended you to choice the Madison like for your new home.
I have lived here for almost one year and absolutely love it! It is a very safe, clean and pet friendly community. Everyone is friendly and treats me like family. I would highly recommend living here!
I absolutely love this place! Its convenient and safe, pet friendly community. Management and staff are always happy to help and know you by the first name. This is definitely the best rental place in the Ballston metro area.
In all my global traveling the Madison has been a peaceful and settling living experience. The concierge, maintenance and office staff have been very supportive and professional. The Madison is a clean and modern environment which makes me comfortable and is accessible to many establishments nearby.
I lived her for 6 months. I made a call for my a/c because it was not working and they said that the temperature outside had to be more than 85 degrees its not fare that no won wants to fix it now i cant sleep because its too hot
Google notified me that my review about the Madison from several years ago hit the 5K mark. Apparently, it makes a difference, so here is an update to you all out there looking and researching places in the area: look no more! I moved here in 2014, and still LOVING the experience. Im not changing anything about my previous entry (see below), just adding: clean, well-maintained property with resident focus. The entire staff is awesome and caring. Come and see for yourself!***My previous entry: This is my second term at The Madison and I am still in the honeymoon phase about living here.I love my apartment, its proximity to work and the metro.I truly and deeply appreciate everything management does for the residents. Thank you for the new business center and the coffee machine! :)And last, but certainly not least, I would like to express my appreciation to the office staff: Angie, Paula and James are caring and wonderful people providing nothing less than outstanding service every single time I interact with them.Thank you very much for all you do.
I live here for over 1 year and my experience is great. Friendly and professional staff they always deal with any issue I have in my apartment immediately. Love it here!!!!
I have being living at the Madison since 2012 and I love it. My Apt, the location, amenities, accessibility and community feeling are some of the things I enjoy living here.
I did only the tour of the place. Rameen was great in explaining the details and more welcoming. The apartment was Spacious for the floor plan and amenities looked good.
The team here has been super professional, helpful, and responsive. Whether its move-in, packages, or maintenance - theyve got you covered.
I am writing this review because I have moved so many times. This place was amazing! I lived there for a year. I only moved out because I was trying to save money. I highly recommend this place. I had absolutely no problems while I was living here. I would likely move back here when I have saved up enough money.
Not worth it. Staff is clueless and management doesnt actually fix problems when you contact them. I have been ignored on several different occasions by management.
The apartments are beautiful and the luxuries are nice. It this does not make up for the poor customer service that Ive experienced. On my move on day I had little assistance, there werent any dolleys or carts for use and I had to schedule my move in through the complexs loading dock. I think theres some disorganization amongst staff and Im just disappointed. Otherwise, the location and amenities are amazing.
Awesome
