Have you heard of customer service!!My husband and I came to the auction to pick up items that we have one. On paying for stuff that we won we noticed an item did not look familiar to us. We told the lady that we did not bid on that item. She then proceeded to tell us there was a problem with that case. And we were not the only customer who had an issue with items that we placed bids on. She then told us we had to take the items that we placed bids on even though we did not. She was very rude about it and the other counter person asked us two times if we had an appointment which we said yes both times. so if you’re going to bid on items at this auction please make sure the numbers match so you don’t get ripped off like we did.

The K D Smith Auction is basically a silent auction. Everythings on display with a little green card with description and lines where you can place your bid with your bidders number. The auction is open for bids until the last Saturday of each month. At that time, you can make any last minute bids on something that you want to buy. Its different than a regular auction where you must wait until the item you want comes up to bid. This can be good or bad. It forces you bid carefully. I was in a bidding war with this guy bidding on a very nice 12 string guitar I bid up to $275, really more than I thought it was worth, but then I realized he was not bidding for himself, but for his young son. I said to myself, let the kid have it. I own two twelve string guitars already. Hope the kid appreciates my dropping out of the bidding! If he is like me, he will play it till his fingers bleed. Anyway, stay away from the auction. I dont need any more competition!

Dont take their word, they allow consigners to scam buyers and will not stand behind anything they sell. Waste of money.

Do Not Buy any Coins from K.D. Smith & Son😨They misrepresent coins in the photos and do not stand behind verbal agreements. I will give you one example.Item described as Choice Proof 1904 Morgan Silver dollar. I spoke with Corey I believe that is what Kyle Smiths wifes name is. They said I could have them send the coin to ANACS and if it did not come back Choice Proof I would get me $1200 back. The coin came back Proof AU 58. Almost Uncirculated 58 is far from a Choice proof. I specifically called and spoke to the auction house on the phone to confirm before my purchase as that particular coin didnt meet reserve on the auction and I wanted to confirm that if I paid that kind of money the coin needed to be what it said it was. Attached is the description. I am rated perfect on ebay and HiBid, please do not trust these people. K.D. Smith always finds the cool stuff you didnt know you needed until you saw it. Ive gotten records, hi-fi equipment, books and antiques form them and Ive been happy with each purchase. I try to stop by at least once a month to look for my next treasure.

They have some of the coolest items and one of the cutest dogs behind the counter. the staff is nice and the items can be bid on for about a month.

Really like this auction house---but forget about trying to sell something there. It seems as though it is a good old boys club and they will only take items from the same people. I guess if I had one item that would bring in hundreds of dollars for them they might consider--but I have tried in the past to sell things here and know that I had better items then some of the things being offered but I was not even considered, in fact I had submitted photos as I was told and no one even had the time to get back to me at all. I guess that is why eBay exists.

After reading the two other reviews I thought I would share my experience. My husband and I have been going to this auction for about two years. We love it! Twice I have bid on something and completely forgot...normally your bidding rights would be revoked permanently. I apologized and they were very nice to me! We love coming here on the weekends. Never know what you will find!!!

The only place to be on the last saturday of the month..aways a good time..its a party..popcorn, soda, interesting people to talk to..cool stuff to bid on..always something ya just cant live with out and very friendly staff aways willing to help or bust your chops..which ever is in order..very friendly family oriented business..we go there at least twice a month..highly recommended for a fun and exciting day out

Always a fun place to go and look for cool things, I was able to get two wagner cast iron skillets for a good price here.

My husband and I have been going to KD Auctions for several years and really enjoy it. They are really nice, helpful and fair. Theyve even gone out of their way to assist in moving a few won items out to the jeep. When I spotted an error on an item tag it was looked into straight away and addressed appropriately. On several accounts weve not realized we won anything, when we didnt attend the final auction day, and when we called to inquire they were really sweet about it - no worries! They told us what we won, the total amount due and when the best time for pick-up would be. Well certainly continue attending this auction! Well done and well managed!

They have cool items here but do not be deceived by how items are tagged. We bought a ring that was stated as 14ct gold and it was costume. Another time I won a vintage 1966 Batman alarm clock that was in the box and I paid a small fortune for it because it stated that it was 100% working. Not only was it not working but the inside mechanism was removed. When I told them about it after I took the item home, they said that I was at fault for not testing the clock first. Should buyers carry around an assortment of batteries, gold testing kits and assume auction houses are lying when they specifically label an item as something gold or working? They engage in deceptive practices but again, they do have some cool items- just don’t trust what an item is labeled as.

I have been attending the auctions for years. I am surprised at the bad reviews . Suffice it to say that you cant make all people happy all the time. I am glad to see a family run business that obviously work hard to be successful. The workers are all helpful and I enjoy the diversity of merchandise. to complainers I say be pleasant and people will be pleasant in return.

Ive been going to JD Smith auctions for a long time.They started in a room at front left of building,to taking over the huge room where produce was sold.Good move!Although I do not understan the tax fees;one person consigns an item.It runs from beginning of month to last full satirday weekend.Seller gets fees and taxed.You buy said item by winning on high bid of bid board,then youre taxed as well..The owners Of KD Smith Kevin and Doreen Smith are extremely friendly ! They employ their family which is a good thing!

Great place to find cool items! Always love going in to try and win some items. To the people giving 1 star, INSPECT the product BEFORE you bid! They dont buy or do the descriptions, its the seller that is consigning that does it!

To whom it may concern,Just went to KD Smith Auction where they had a priest train collection from 2 days. THIS WAS MY FIRST AND LAST TIME. THESE PEOPLE ARE EXTREMELY RUDE AND VERY DISHONEST! I spent 3,000 dollars cash and half it was NOT AS DESCRIBED! For Example: I bought a R32 Subway Set for 425 dollars. IN THE DESCRIPTION IT SAID MINT/Orig Box. The next when I examined the subway it had no motors and did not run. I went back to the auction house the following day to show how dishonest they were. I received no refund or compensation and got kicked out. We spoke to someone who gives them a lot of merchandise to auction. He immediately noticed our problems and agreed that was not right. The daughter of the owner grabbed the guy away but he did not budge. THIS SHOWS YOU WHY YOU SHOULD NOT BUY FROM HERE. THERE WERE MORE THAN 1 ITEMS WE HAD CONCERNS WITH! BEWARE OF THIS ESTABLISHMENT.

My husband and I have been going to the monthly auction for well over a year now, and really enjoyed it. This past Saturday I approached the auctioneer (the grandfather, I didnt get his name) personally to inquire about how to sell items via the auction. He was incredibly rude, spent a good five minutes making me feel as if I was completely wasting his time, answered my questions with a sneer, and finished his little tirade informing me Id have to bring everything I wanted to sell for him to approve (which he could have just said outright, instead of being a jerk.)We wont be going back again, in any capacity -- I have no interest in lining his pockets with another cent.

Not sure who I spoke with, but hes an absolute nut case. Trying to liquidate a home and called to get info. I was only able to tell him my name and that I was interested in auctioning off household items and he went off on a 10 minute tirade telling me all the things they dont or wont do. Im still scratching my head.Just read some of the other reviews...apparently, these types of tirades are not uncommon for this business.

I can ALWAYS find a great deal, and I love everyone who works there, super nice! Plus, they play great music!

Unorganized, poor customer service. Unless you are just looking for a place to waste some time and look at vintage items dont come to this place. If you are looking to buy STAY away, the people who run this place obviously do not know anything running an auction house and are probably trying to take advantage of people who dont know anything about it either. Dont give these people business. You will thank me later.

Me and my son went to one of there auctions. Hes been waiting for this for the past month to get the item he wants. We won the auction and once we got home we noticed that it was all broken. They would not refund anything as they listed the item as brand new. My son payed for the item so they SCAMMED A KID!!!!!! BEWARE!!!
