Absolutely the best! We skip the dealerships to bring our cars here. We never get forced into added service or repairs that aren’t needed. The guys are down to earth, will help you out more than you can believe. I’m not surprised why there are so many people that get their cars serviced here. This store and these guys really do deserve an award from corporate for what they do. Military, first responder and dog friendly.
My Honda Pilot has 280,000 miles on it and a whining/grinding noise started to come from the front right wheel area. After a few different friends ears listened to it we were certain it was a failing wheel bearing. I even had my son drive it slowly while I ran next to the car trying to listen to the sound (I think the only sound really heard was my out of shape wheezing!) After organizing to have the work done with Aaron and his team, I brought the vehicle in prepared for a big job. I got a call later that day to say it was a tumble weed wedged between the drive shaft and the muffler! They removed it and test drove it and it was perfect, no charge! They even left the small weed in my console for me! Amazing to say the least! A++ Service and no charge, I would have been happy to pay the time they investigated it! I ended up giving the technician a $20 note, he deserved that! Since then Ive brought my sons first car in as it needed a new Starter Motor and Serpentine Belt, they did a great job, Im more than glad to know we have an honest business we can work with!
2. I brought my car in on Friday morning with a 8am scheduled appointment and the manager Aaron said he can take a look at my car later than day to make the estimate to send to my warranty company. I called for 2 days with no pick up 5 different times, when I finally got a hold of them on Sunday he told me he only needed to look up 2 more parts before sending the claim that day. I was told that nobody at the shop could work on it but he could send them the information so I could finally get a trade in on my car but refused my calls from Monday-Thursday. Then when I asked the warranty company, they told me no claim was sent to them. When we called (warranty and me)the next Friday he told both the company and me that he was “frustrated, annoyed and wouldn’t be working with me anymore” and hung up the phone. I’ve been very patient all week and trying to get in contact with this location just for them to waste my time and money. I’ve called them throughout the week at least 20 times but no one seems to be there to pick up the phone
There is a group of guys running and working this Pep Boys location who are excellent! Gregg will give it to you straight, is very professional and easy to talk to. Ezekiel likewise. I was very impressed!
Took my Volvo for a check engine light. Spoke to Manager Aaron. He immediately ran a diagnostic on it. Came back with bad coils. He ordered and had them delivered. Got them installed in a timely manner. Was very impressed with their service. Highly recommended. AAAA+++++

Useless place. I went in for an emergency tire repair/plug and they said they wouldnt even look at it until the next night. Had to drive elsewhere with a leaking tire. Spend your money elsewhere.

I have used these guys in the past for a transmission service, alignment service on two different vehicles, and a brake service for a third. The service in the past was good, if they told me something it got done. Lately talking on the phone with them and going to the shop is two different stories. On the phone they tell me to bring the truck in and it will get done. When I take the truck in, they tell me, they are too busy and can’t do the work. I left the truck there all day a couple days later, only for them to call me and tell me they couldn’t get to it, but will get it for sure the next day. I definitely wasn’t going to leave my truck there over night, cause the night before several cars were broken into. I took it in the next morning, only to be told when I got there they couldn’t do. I understand being busy, but don’t tell me something and then Do something else.
This is my go to place for all service on my suv. The work is done timely and the staff are always very helpful and professional.

Service was spot on. Manger signed us up on their website which lists everything they found that needed attention.The list of items that needed to be addressed where the same items we took the car to them to fix. The car wouldnt start. The battery was low. When jumped engine cranked but wouldnt start. Towed car to Pep Boys at store #1722 David was very helpful and told me what the problem was. Decided to get car repair there. When I had problems with my Pep Boys Car Care Credit he gave me the option of reapply for the card. I received 1 year to pay and a credit limit of $3000. I took my car in for brake repair today. The manager, David, took the time to show me exactly what my car needed and why. He explained what needed to be done immediately and what should be done but could wait. He also showed me the bill, explaining exactly what he was charging me for and why. The only surprise was that he found as many deals as he could so I ended up paying less than I expected to. He was friendly and knowledgeable and got my car done in a timely manner. 10/10 would absolutely recommend, and I will be back for future car maintenance needs.
Took truck on a Friday. 11am. Had an appointment to get break system done I bought the parts myself which they told me what to buy. By 4 pm I’ve heard nothing from them. I call them.! My truck hasn’t been touched all day still sitting in parking lot. They tell me. We need more parts. I go buy those parts they tell me my truck will be done by 8 am next morning my truck isn’t done until 1230 pm on Saturday so unprofessional no communication will not go back.

HOLY COW. these guys could not care any less about your business! they would not even answer questions about service without speaking over me, speaking rudely and aggressively, and even the manager spoke angrily and hung up on me. i had to call back SIX TIMES just to get answers to BASIC questions about Carvana service. i will definitely be calling corporate and reporting this. absolutely unacceptable.

I have never encountered such a horrific customer service experience. At one point my wife had 911 ready to dial on her phone as the owner/manager looked like he was going to physically assault me.Our regular mechanic was booked up and unable to replace the brake pads for us before we traded in our car. We explained that we didnt want to spend any extra, we just wanted the brake pads replaced and rotors resurfaced. At first this seemed fine.About three hours later the manager called to give us the quote, $2200. He went on and on trying to sell us on things that did not need to be addressed. He claimed the entire brake system needed to be replaced, he said all the rotors were beyond resurfacing, the fluid was so old it had turned to gunk and needed to be flushed and filled, and all four calipers needed to be replaced as well.Less than three months previous we had a major millage service done, this included a flush and fill of all fluids including the brake fluid. Less than one year previous we had the back brakes replaced including new rotors and one new caliper. The manager wouldnt allow me to talk, every time I would interject, he would just start running his mouth trying to sell me on doing a full brake system replacement. Finally I told him to get our car down and I would come take it to a different shop.When we arrived to pick up the car, it was still on the lift with the tires off and brakes disassembled. He again would not shut up long enough to let me say I wasnt interested in using their shop. He kept ranting about his qualifications and attempting to sound smart all while trying to sell more brake work.Finally I said I was not interested in playing games and demanded the return of the car, and left to wait in the parking lot with my wife. As I was walking back to the parking lot, the manager came charging out of the service bay like a mad rhino, screaming and yelling, thats when my wife got scared and was ready to call the police, fearing the manager was going to physically assault me.The manager continued to insult me, and surprisingly, kept trying to sell me! I was able to calm him down and get him to agree to return our car. It took 2 hours after that before our car was ready to go. We took the car up the street to Valvoline, and had the brake pads replaced and rotors resurfaced for
I would say average. got some work done and it was slow. Busy shop so I will give them that. The chances of me going back are low.
My boyfriend took my car in to get my brakes checked because another place informed us that I might need new rotors. They did a break servicing and figured out what was wrong with my brakes and that I didnt need new rotors. What they quoted us on the phone for even just the servicing ended up being cheaper. They were very professional and helpful. Will be returning for any of our car needs.

One of the worst experiences I have ever had with any service industry related company. After improperly fixing my wifes car and leaving her stranded the assistant manager was VERY unprofessional, spoke down to me, cussed several times, and in these very unique times decided to have most of the conversation with his face mask off.

My 2009 Saturn Aura V6 w 121,500 miles.Had an estimate done last week here because my steering rack, pressure hoses, P/S pump, water pump leaking. 2499$ estimate.Brought it back today and Manager David Colon said he could make it happen. He help me out a year ago when I needed emissions check and certificate, so coming back was natural.Upon inspection, serpentine belt was cracked so replaced that, and add alignment because of new steering rack.Said it would be done by 6 and that I wouldn’t need to leave it overnight tonight until Monday.Guess what? It’s 7:45pm Saturday night and mechanic Gregg is still working. I knew this job was huge, but David delivers on his promises.I will be driving home in my car tonight and Gregg is busting his butt to satisfy a customer and deliver on David’s promise.This type of selflessness and dedication is rare in today’s society and I applaud the efforts of the crew here at Pep Boys at 4311 Montano NW (Coors & Montano) in Albuquerque.This is excellent customer service, and even with additional parts and alignment, David honored the original estimate even though he didn’t have to.What an awesome experience.
I made an appointment with a different pep boys and they called me and said they had to reschedule. So I stopped in at the Montaño location and they welcomed me in and fit me in the schedule. Store manager is friendly, efficient, and extremely helpful. My brother and I stopped by to see about availability for a repair and the manager walked us through what they would do to fix it and even helped us get the right parts next door. The representative David was very accommodating. All the warranty companies were closed and our voucher would not have been acceptable at the time of service. He went out of his way to solve the issue so that we would not have to return on a different day. I recommend anyone who goes to ask for David.
A welcome surprise.Arrived late on a Sunday afternoon with a nail in my tire. All the bays were filled. The mechanic came out to my car. Had me pull forward until the nail showed and plugged it right there. Then he went straight back to working on the car he was on when I got there.This no nonsense work ethic is hard to find these days.

I had an appointment sat morning. The manager said that they couldn’t work on it because the guy who specializes in AC was not there. He said he could do it himself but I would have to make an appointment for a few days later? Not cool since I waited a week to make the first appointment. I went to brake masters down the street and got it done instead no appointment needed. I will never come back to this place. It used to be just brakes I believe same manager running the place.
As many reviewers noted, David is a little gruff and manic; easily over stressed and set-off. I think a got a good oil change but everyone should know the tire rotation is up to their opinion. One I dont agree with or to as it was noted after the work was done. I listened to David pitch service to several people and I am sure he is knowledgable at serving his bottom line all the time and his customers some of the time. If you dont know what you need, you might spend too muchThe real rub was a religious and political rant that came out of the blue directed to everyone in the lobby. I had the appointment problem as well, but was able to work around it. Yes, real problem with professionalism and customer relations. The overall rating is false ...those five star reviews are obviously script writing. Great location but I think Ill look elsewhere.

Im surprised to see so many 5 star compliments... i didnt get to have the same experience as everyone else. The manager gave me several reasons to why he couldnt work on my car and they didnt seem rational but I didnt say anything since his greeting wasnt very welcoming. He even suggested I go to another auto service besides pep boys... Ive been a loyal pep boys customer for 7 years, I dont want to take my car anywhere else. So I left and called the pep boys on central. I told them my car issues and they made me an appointment. They head no issues working on my car.
Made an appointment online only to show up and be told they dont even check online reservations. Dude at the counter said I would have to drop it off for the entire day for an oil change and a tire leak to be examined because the customers who call in on the phone are apparently the only valid reservations. I agreed to drop it off and took out my phone to arrange a ride. Thats when this clown just went on a rant out of the blue about how I better not leave a bad review because they are not responsible for online appointments and they have nothing to do with that. I made this reservation on the official pep boys website, yes youre responsible for it. I wasnt even going to leave any kind of review because I know stuff happens, but the unprecedented unprofessionalism and intimidation tactics employed by this guy earned them one star today. Learn how to talk to people. I was nothing but courteous from the minute I walked in to when I walked out and to be approached like that and accused is wildly unacceptable. I would give this location zero stars if I could just based off how uncomfortable my 2 minutes in the lobby were. They even had an open bay with no one else waiting for service.I took my business to another company and they had me in and out in an hour WITH NO APPOINTMENT.

The manager David is a top notch guy!! My car broke down on the freeway and I got it towed to Zia Auto Repair through AAA and they immediately told me that my motor was totaled and that itd cost me about $4,000 to repair it. I got it towed to Pep Boys to get a second set of eyes and he personally took the time to give a thorough diagnostic and call me with every update. It ended up being 3 different things that had to be repaired (that had nothing to do with the motor) and David took the time to explore all my financing options and gave me the best possible deal. It came out to a fraction of the price! If you want a mechanic that is a friend who has your best interest in mind, will explain everything for you, and provide solutions, go here!
These guys KNOW what they are doing, they tell you everything too. Very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. I highly recommend this particular pep boys for their knowledge and excellent customer service, but if you need to make an appointment please CALL for appointment because the online appointment maker is no good and does not reflect other appointments.

This is definitely my go to place. Been coming here for oil changes since I have had my Altima which is 2 years. David, the manager ALWAYS work with you and never take advantage of you being a woman as you know some places do. A great environment, everyone is very friendly and helpful. David was unprofessional. He said he would wipe out the 106.00 diagnostic charge if we received any work. He then failed to honor that. He attacked me because he would not state specifically what was wrong with vehicle. He quoted us a 1,900.00 bill and told us we would have a new car st the end of the day. When pushed for a breakdown of the 1,900. Bill he got defensive and became very unprofessional. Good bye Pep Boys

David really stepped up and he gets the 5 stars. I ordered tires online but there was a disconnect between my online order and getting the tires to the shop. Well stuff happens but I didn’t have to do anything. David found 3 tires in Albuquerque and made a trip to Gallup for that 4th tire. He also went on his own time. It could have been a really stressful situation for me but he took care of everything.

I needed a vehicle inspection filled out, the Alameda location in Albuquerque said they could not fit me in till Tuesday of next week and I was able to get in the same day at this location.David Colon the store manager was so helpful. I have been to this store several times in the 18 months for inspections, maintenance and help with a quirky computer issue. Today I had an inspection for my LYFT renewal. It was done quickly, professionally and with NO CHARGE! Very generous of David and his crew. We have been going to this location for 12 years and are very happy with the service. We always feel we get an honest opinion. No thoughts of going anywhere else. The late hours allows us to pick up the vehicle after work. Even on busy Saturdays, they usually get the work done quickly. Ive never had to go back a second time to correct an issue.

This experience was very great I saved a lot of time and money. I went to my car dealership and they told me I needed to buy a new tire but I couldn’t afford a new tire. When I came to Pepboys it turned out that my tire was able to be fixed, I didn’t need a new one. The manager David fixed my tire and gave me a complimentary vehicle inspection and I am very satisfied!! I will be returning if I have any other issues in the future.
I needed tires and I had brake problems. Rodney spoke to me at length and was very helpful finding a good deal and good tires for me. I try to be an informed consumer, and he indulged my tendency to over search the internet. My car is running just fine, and he was friendly, informed, polite, and I will return when and if I need more service. So it is one day later and I have to edit my review. Several hours after I brought my car home, I drove it to an appointment. It started making a dragging sort of sound, and then when I braked, it sounded like the rear bottom of my car was going to fall out. Unhappily, I returned to Pep Boys the next morning. Rodney was not there, but the area manager, David Colon, was there. He took my car for a test drive, showed my the rotor was hot, heard the noise and took my car into a bay right away, where the rotors where resurfaced, new pads placed, and then we went for a ride again. Now THAT is customer service. I think the car should have been taken for a test drive the first time; seems logical to me. I will return to this location, but I will go when David is there. Now there is an excellent manager.
Fixed my tire in fifteen minutes on a Sunday at quitting time. A real lifesaver. Professional, courteous.
