Been going to Nail Top off and on since 2014. Being from the city, the prices were high for me. But they are kinda cheap compared to other nail salons.The wait is horrible. If you go on a Saturday at 10:25am, guarantee, every seat will be filled with people waiting. Get there when they open. Some days are less crowded than others. When I get there on those days, or right when theyre open, I never have to wait.Compared to other nail salons that Ive been to in Albany, East Greenbush, Colonie, this is by far the best. Each time I get my nails done elsewhere, I wished that I went to Nail Top.They do have a lot of techs. Some are better than others. I have one that I like because she does an excellent job on my nails and makes sure each one is level and even, but she always cuts me in one way or another :/But for the most part, they are not bad. And for the talking, I am not a talker to strangers. When I go there, I make small talk to be friendly but if you dont want to talk, they will get the message.Nail Top is a typical, no appointment, cheap salon. A full set starts at 20, a fill starts at 15 and prices go up depending on if you use gel, shape, nail design, etc. This is a no-frills establishment.Below are 3 of the past nails that Ive gotten done at Nail Top.

I went there for the first time back in february. I received acrylic tips and a pedicure. I received a whole toe fungus in both toes and the nail fell off. Out of all my times going to the nail salon this has NEVER happened to me before. That was my first and LAST time going. Go at your own risk for a pedicure.The nails itself are not too bad, the women there do a pretty decent job at the nails.

I came to this place for the first time today after having my nails done 6 times since moving to the capital region Cindy was the best she took her time and did and took my idea and brought it to life!!! I love the energy in the shop and I love it is kept neat and clean I will be going back!!!

Please do yourself a favor and DO NOT come here. They don’t take appointments and when you go in they will always tell you it’s a 30 minute wait even if it’s 2,3 or 4hours. The walk in/sign in sheet is horrible they will cross off you name without serving you to make the wait seem short. The customer are loud and rude. This is a horrible environment and business. You will leave irritated and frustrated.

On the busy street of Central Ave. This place is always packed. I would assume normally they do a pretty decent job if the wait can be about an hour or 2. I have had work done by different nail techs there which are pretty decent.This specific visit I got there at 2pm and had work at 5pm. I thought this would have been enough time. I waited over an hour because once it was finally my turn they took someone who only came in to get her nail fixed, she only waited about 20 minutes. This means I had to wait longer and I would also get a different nail tech.When it was finally my turn, I got paired with the nail tech I dreaded the most there. I have never had work done by him but I come here regularly enough (only because I have yet to find a place I absolutely love) to know that he will probably do an awful job. He talks too much for my liking, tries too hard to be funny and fit in with their main clientele, hes just never completely focused and seems like a joke to me. I honestly would have waited for the next nail tech if I didnt have to be at work in an hour and a half.My only other option was to surrender the time I had just waited and walk out but I gave him a shot. I wish I would have listened to my gut and walked out. I have attached pictures of his work and what my natural nails looked like after I soaked them off that same day.After waiting X amount of time and getting a horrible set done, I was also late to work. (I guess thats more my fault than theirs?) I thought I had allotted more than enough time but maybe if he didnt stop to look at his coworkers while he talked, actually focused or learned the art of multi-tasking I would have made it on time. I was about 8 minutes late.When I finally made it to work I realized I forgot my work shoes and was sent home to get them. I stopped at the nail place to soak them off, because I couldnt stop crying on my way to work. That was a red flag for me because I barely ever cry about small things, but the job was just acceptable and there was absolutely no way I was going to wait 2 weeks to get another set.When I got there I simply said, ‘please I just need these off. Can I have a soak?’ The tech who prepared my soak was the only tech who asked me what was wrong. No one seemed to care. Which was what made me decide to never come back here again. No one offered to do a new set, no one offered me a new day to come in to fix them, no one offered to give me a full refund or even a partial refund.I paid $33 dollars for that set. I understand the concept, you get what you pay for but I have never had trouble getting a decent set at a nail salon of my choice for $30-$35 dollars.They didnt charge me for the soak, because I think it was obvious that no one wants their nails to look like that.Im not gonna tell you to stay away from here because they have decent techs, Jenny and Tina are normally who I go to, Kandi (who did my soak) is a good bet too. And Sam (who is male) has impressed me with a beautiful mani/pedi before. What I WILL tell you is this is the risk you are taking if something does go wrong, dont expect them to care about you whether you make a scene or you dont.Working part-time as a server, I dont believe in making a scene to get what you want. I dont think you need to throw a tantrum to be heard. It is sad that that is what some people are used to and learned that works. I will just never step foot in this nail salon unless I absolutely have to and even then I will go in at 10am when they open to guarantee I have the time and tech I prefer.

Jenny did my nails and pedicure. She was awesome and Im back today again to see her. Very professional and neat with her craft. She really gets to know her customers. I guess she saw that I was a newbie to the area

Upcharge for using a card but they didnt tell you that over the phone when asked. Terrible experience and waste of money.

Ive been going for almost 20 years and Tina has been doing my eyebrows flawlessly the entire time. The service is great for low prices. They pay attention to detail. Its almost always paccked though, so be prepared to wait at least 10 mins for a good tech.

I have wonderful luck getting a brow wax here, but that is the only service I can recommend. Today, I decided to try them for a gel manicure. I am so disappointed in the manicure I received. The work looks sloppy and misshapen. My nails were previously shaped nicely and now they are a jagged mess. I will probably be removing the manicure once I get home.

$10 to remove acrylic tips?! Im from the Bronx and its usually $5. And it wasnt even a soak, he just picked them off with a nail clipper and a nail tip to slide under the nail. Definitely not the right way to do it, as that takes a layer of your actual nail off...

Went to get a pedicure. It was a short yet reasonable wait. Although the salon was a little busy it was pretty clean. I asked to soak my feet a bit and relax and they graciously accommodated me; even turned on the message chair to assist in my relaxing moment. I put my earbuds in a melted into the chair tuning out everyone and everything. It was sooo good and much welcomed and needed.

Zero stars if I could.!! They charge for everything including doing a different shape on your nails besides square. I could’ve done a better job at home than what this place did. It was painful and gross. The acrylic was all over my nails, cuticles, and skin..!! Don’t even get me started on the work they did with the gel polish..!!I’m glad I found Deluxe Nail & Spa in Colonie Mall Center to fix the work otherwise I would’ve been liable to cut my fingers off..!! I got a spa pedicure and acrylic nails on my visit here. My toes were fantastic but my nails looked like hell. It was really busy because it was the day before Easter and everybody was getting their nails done, but the guy told me they were always that busy. They do not take appointments here. I do feel like they did a fantastic job on my feet, getting them really soft and perfect looking, and my toenails looked even and symmetrical. The polish job was also good. My big problem was that I got coffin shaped acrylics and they were all uneven and looked really thick and just not very good overall. They were inexpensive however, so if you are okay with having to go home and do some sanding, filing, and repolishing maybe the price would be worth it to you. I got my nails and toes done for $50. Plus the tip.

Ive been going here for the past year but today I was really disappointed, I got the ANC after ten minutes of them convincing me how much better it was and 3 nails broke in three days. After I waited for an hour they told me on top of the 40 I paid less than a week ago I was told two different prices to get them fixed. When Ive came here multiple times for broken nails and got them fixed for free. Unfortunately I have to find a new nail place
