I have been going to the club for 3+ years now and I truly love this place. I am getting ready to move down south in a few days and I can truly say one of the things I will miss most about this area is the Athletic Club. This place introduced me to my love of fitness. It has character and it is very laid back. It has everything you need and the staff is so friendly. I have met life long friends both in the staff and the members from going here. It has a very community like feel to it and this is a very special place.

I love this gym! Its family friendly and has many amenities. The staff and class instructors are all excellent and very friendly! I love the Body Blast class! Its a great workout! Ive been a member here for 26 years and I wouldnt go anywhere else! Its Home and the owners are like family to me!

This is a great workout facility! Theres everything you could want here - weights, classes, a pool, good machines, nice locker rooms, and even a juice/protein drink bar! The people are great, and its a nice atmosphere. Prices are very reasonable too. Every time Im in York visiting, I work out here.

A relatively nice gym with a variety of equipment, spaced out well and a relaxed atmosphere. I generally prefer to support locally owned facilities. Having said that, there were a few things I found discouraging. The word retro comes to mind, even the font used on the walls has a mid-80s vibe. That isnt necessarily a drawback, more imporantly the majority of the equipment looked like it was from the 20th century, a couple machines (in their defense, out of about 100, which isnt unheard of) were visibly broken. I realize not everyone plans on using every piece of equipment in a facility as part of their circuit training, for me its a consideration. Its not a bad place to work out by any means.In this review Id like to remind management theyre in a competitive market and should consider an overhaul or upgrade to appeal to new members.

Needs improvement on equipment and cleanliness. They charge to much for membership

I visited while traveling to York. Bought a one week membership. Very accommodating.Two floors, well equipped. Plenty of machines and free weights, pool. Plenty of space between equipment.

Amy teaches the best class. I felt comfortable from the day I joined. Monthly price is great. Definitely recommend.

Very family friendly and love the cycling.

I would not recommend. I was interested in working out here because of what it had to offer. There is child care but the room smells like a chlorine gas chamber. I would not send kids there unless you want to adversely affect their health. Gym itself needs cleaned more regularly. The pool was cold and decaying. Seems like it would have been a nice gym in its day. Prices are too high for what you get.

This is a very friendly gym. They have a pool, babysitting, sauna, hot tub, tanning, everything you need. It is a bit pricey compaired to some of the other gyms but they also have a good bit more amenities. I also love that the owners are there a good bit as well.
