If I could do 0 stars I would. This is an awful place. Employees don’t even look at you to say good morning. It looks like their social place. If you do a contract with them watch for the small and tricky parts. I tried canceling my contract due to COVID-19 as I have a special needs kid and they didn’t help at all. All the opposite they sucked every penny until the very end. Even though I never came back to the gym after COVID (over a year ago).

☆ I Like it I go to the British swim class and it is very nice. It has a Steam room and other stuff its big and it really deserves 5 stars I love it☆

Have been a member here for a year and really like the facility. They have round rubber plates which is awesome compared to other big box gyms that use hex plates. Lots of strength equipment spread out on both floors. Love the big track for post workout walks; it’s nice to move through space as opposed to a treadmill, but there are plenty of those and other cardio too. Staff is friendly and most patrons clean up after themselves.

The low rating on this is primarily due to the people who go here. It’s a younger crowd and everyone uses their phones all the time! The gym wouldn’t be nearly as slow if they enforced the “no phones while on equipment rule”. It’s obvious that the gym staff cater to the teenagers who run the gym, as no one will ever enforce when I ask. They said they’ll put signs up but we will see. The young crowd (as I’m sure they’re nice enough) are completely unaware of their surroundings and will not keep it moving. Too many times am I unable to complete a workout because I won’t wait 30 minutes for a machine that is only being used to sit and text at… if this isn’t fixed, I will have cancel my membership.Long story short, if you want an efficient gym, go elsewhere, if you want a gym to socialize and use your phone, this is your place…Also - quit doing deep cleans of the facility during peak time (5-7pm)…I love you keep it clean, but there has to be a better time to do it.

I have been a member paying every month for over 10 years. The club is pretty clean, and has plenty of good equipment. Staff is generally polite and nice. My beef is, the STEAM ROOM and JACUZZI are CONSTANTLY BROKEN !!!!! At least once a month there is a problem ! I find this LAME ! It reflects on the management and owner. At least send an email to members, and have a notification at the front desk when this occurs. Wake up and get it right ! Kareem Rea

The thing I like is the indoor walking/jogging track. It can get crowded at times but it’s nice to have an indoor place to get some cardio in. Of course the rest of the gym is well equipped as well. Patrons are generally friendly.

Like this gym, there is nothing to critize for the money. There are a lot of one star crying babies here posting. They probably complain about everything in their lives. I come there most the time for swimming. The only critique I have is that there are too many swimming lessons lately and less and less time for lanes for people that like to get some swimming after work. Seems like Mr.Barry is renting apartment inside the gym and lives there. Just joking he is nice guy. But there are too many schools already there. But 5 star 🌟 for the price.

This is definitely the best gym in the area. I’ve been a member of lifetime and lafitness. The price is the best. The place always clean and usually greeted by friendly employees. Plus my daughter (2yearold) loves the kids zone. I love that you have to reserve a swimming lane. Pools at a gym are meant for exercising just like any other equipment!

*it should be noted that the owner replied saying they offered another class. They absolutely DID NOT. Who would leave a review if they were ACTUALLY offered alternative solutions? *!Signed up for a yoga class here via ClassPass. They had the class listed as 11am but the class *actually* started at 10:40. I waited outside of the yoga room. it got past 11am so I went back to the desk where the employee there did absolutely nothing about it at first. And offered me to join the class halfway through. He called his boss and she did not care either or offer a complimentary class or at least consider contacting ClassPass to make sure I got my credits back. Ridiculous and a waste of time.

Great gym. My only complaint is that the gym does not utilize the a/c as much as would make one”s workout as comfortable as possible.

I went here looking to get a membership but decided to go elsewhere. The cancellation policy is outrageous. The facility is nice. I also didnt like the fact you have to reserve a lane for the pool.

This place is not good. We had a membership here for a while even after having a bad experience with an employee but when we canceled the membership they still charged us after wards with out us knowing. The only nice people working here were the workers cleaning the facility.

This place will take your money and not care about your satisfaction. Even someone who has been a loyal customer for several years. Go spend your money elsewhere.

Make sure whenever you cancel your membership they actually cancel it. Was told multiple times it was cancelled and they kept saying another month would be the last payment. Months go by and they sent it to collections after i made my “Last Payment” twice.

This is definitely a one star gym when it comes to payment. I have freezed my membership Back in March for 2 months. And my card was on autopay what I assumed was they will take it off of my account automatically. Without even sending me any notice call, email, or letters after 6 month they have send my bill to collector and now I have to pay triple the amount. The manager was super nice when I explain the situation but It seems like the general manager is the one who decide not to letting people know about their bill. This is so unfair. So disappointed. Definitely not going back to this gym. And I’ll let my friends and family know.If you will be member make sure to keep on eye on your account. Cause they will do anything to take advantage.

I have trained here for 2 years now and the gym has everything that you need from machines to free weights all the way to different fitness classes. Staff is always polite and ready to help you when needed. Keep making gains!

The facility is great. They are nice people. However, they are money hungry. And do not have a sense of customer care. My contract was ending in June, I was moving away and did not wish to continue payment as soon as my 24 month contract ended. I called in early May to see how to cancel. I was informed to email the cancellation department in the middle of June (the month that my contract ended) and tell them I want to cancel. When I did so, they tacked on a 30-day policy because I emailed them in June. I told them I did exactly what I was told to do by their STAFF and they basically said I don’t care you signed a contract. Not once was I told about the 30-day policy. I asked them to waive it due to their front desk incompetency, and they said that is not reason enough to. I once raved about this gym. My family has gone for years! Then when I went off on my own I started here, despite the 30 minute drive and the fact they were more expensive... I loved this place. Clearly, I was just another dollar sign.

I am reading the comments and the bad experiences they have had and I now tell mine. I called and I showed up not to renew my contract that ended in August 2020 and I did not want to renew it again and today I received a collection letter for not paying this is crazy, I am not the only one, it is critical.They never sent me any notice, call, email or letters until today that is after 5 months, where they sent my bill to the collector and now according to them that paying something that I never renew is a total theft.I am reading the other comments and opinions and they are almost the same problem, there is abuse and administrative neglect towards the members of the GYM. terrible, shameful and regrettable.They have more than 28 people who gave them a star for the same reason, that is, they are used to doing this and then they respond the same to all. I took the dare to read the comments of more than 28 bad reviews and the problem is the same as I have that they unfairly pass bills to the collector and everything is a trap, lies and a round business that they have in their favor to take advantage from the people.

With the SilverSneakers program I can go to Golds or the gym up the street. I choose Golds. Ive been going there for more years than they have registered in their computer. The track is a key feature and one that is rare at gyms these days of smaller footprint gyms. For me, it beats walking on a treadmill.Since upgrades over time would be easier with more revenue, I suspect a more focused external marketing program would help. While the external signs are good, getting boots on the ground (and business cards on the counters) to entice cooperation from business owners would be a start. Also, a local Google Ad campaign with relevant keywords would be cheap and effective - Ive never seen a Golds Gym ad show up as a search result.While Paris in-house marketing is great, there are demographic gaps that could be exploited. It is fine to say people need their own motivation, but, some people need more guidance than others. Perhaps do a blind survey of existing clients to discover why their spouses, friends and neighbors are not going to Golds.Thanks to the cleaning crew as well. They do a great job.

Then when you put this into the equation of number of particles in the air * amount of time being exposed, the situation gets complicated. Even if nobody spends more than 30 minutes in the gym, you still have the staff having exposure to several hours a day - which exponentially raises risk of infection. So wearing a mask could reduce the pathogens, but the practical aspect of having somebody do a hard workout on a mask has its own issues and risks. I think for Gyms the solution is transform their parking lots into working out areas. they probably know what percentage of people go for classes vs equipment, so they can tailor. Tough situation

I recently had a horrible experience with one of the kids club caregivers, which was so random & bizarre because in the 5 years I’ve been with this gym my children & myself have loved the kids club & the ladies who watch them. Regardless I heard from all three of the managers the very next day. The two general managers & the kids club managers. They worked very respectfully & promptly with us to resolve the situation. Was very impressed by the management & their professionalism.

Ive been a member now for this my second full week. I cant believe that I waited until I was almost 71 years old to start this undertaking and cant wait to get the full experience of being a member of a gym. I have not been a member of a gym before, and I look forward to seeing what I can achieve. This will take a lot of time and effort on my part and I feel Ill need to push myself to get into a routine.I signed up with a personal trainer for three months to begin this experience and to make sure Im doing the machines and exercises properly. There are so many activities that I want to take part inThank you for your interest and for treating me as an individual caring for my personal needs.

I love that this gym is 24 hours throughout the weekday. They have a nice steam room and sauna. I’ve never used the pool area so I cannot speak to that, but every time I come in I always see someone cleaning and maintaining the restrooms as well as the rest of the gym. Plenty of equipment and staff is really nice.

Everyone at this gym is always super helpful and attentive. Always making sure things are sanitized and up to standard in this present COVID world!

Great club. Good instructors and staff. Lockers are way too small. The could have used full sized lockers and not had a capacity problem. I have to use 2 of them so my clothes dont get crushed. I still recommend it.

Tried to cancel multiple times. Cancelation was never processed, and I was turned over to collections without so much as a courtesy call. And to add to it, they reported me for charges that were added to my account while they were closed for covid. Worst customer service ever. Terrible company ethics.

Absolutely LOVE this gym! Have been a member for over a month now, and am really enjoying the excellent facilities, the friendly staff, the choice of classes, and the great atmosphere. This club has everything that I need to pursue my health goals. I have been extremely pleased with the value that I am getting from my membership. I used to belong to a much higher priced gym, but decided to look around for a better deal. So glad that I did! My husband and I are now BOTH members at Gold’s for $33 less a month than I was paying for just myself at my previous gym! This Gold’s has all the same facilities as the higher priced club, but with an additional inside walk/running track, and the only thing I have to do additionally is bring my own lock (if I want to use the lockers) and bring my own towel. No worries, there. That is more than a good trade off in my book.Also – loved this gym’s NO PRESSURE sales technique. Very different from the hard sell that some gym’s put you through!!

I have been to a lot of gyms and I am pleasantly surprise with how much I like the ambiance in Gold Gym Woodstock. Paris helped me with the registration and Randy trained me. They were both super nice to work with, accommodating and professional. I truly felt they were supportive, interested in my health journey and focused on what works best for me as an individual. The staffs are courteous and friendly. The facility and equipment looked well maintained and people are there to workout and mind their own business. The ratio between members and equipment seemed well balanced. The classes are perfect for working folks as they have early AM and PM classes. The instructors are knowledgeable, pay attention to beginners and welcome comments after each session. One improvement suggestion is to make classes with heavy choreographer movements more friendly for beginners. It can be frustrating to follow and enjoy these classes. And I think I am not alone, since I also see some folks walk out mid way during lesson. You may learn some new dance moves, if you are ok with awkwardly bouncing around against the flow, but I prefer classes where I can put my body to work and give my brain cells some quiet time vs putting my brain into overdrive to follow some dance moves. It’s tiring 😊. Overall, I enjoy this gym and I look forward to continuing my health journey there.

I just wanted to say thank you for staying open during this time. I work in medical and we are very stressed and it has not been busy everybody that has been coming to work out are staying 6 ft away. You have the cleaning supplies all around the GYM with hand sanitizer. Everybody does what we they are suppost to do hopeful you guys can stay open. Please don’t mess it up for people really need this stress relieve. And great Gym I probable going to stay with you guys with this is over.

Ive been a part of Golds gym for over a year and I Love it! Everyone I talk to is always nice, and theres a big diversity which is great. No judgment zone. Meredith, Dominic and Jordan are always friendly and helpful. Plus I love they have a pool and sauna!

Dont become a member here! I would never sign up to this gym again. They lock you into a contract and change the rules on you. My brother and I were able to go to other Golds Gyms in the area until after I signed up and then they changes their rules stating they always followed this rule. Completely unhappy with this experience and I would cancel my membership if I didnt have to pay several hundred dollars to cancel it.

Love this Gym! Staff is friendly and equipment is nice. On top of that, Ive never met a rude member! Some will even very politely offer to spot you or help you out with your form. I love working out here, and I adore the openness of the gym! Ive never had to wait on equipment.

This place will try to take all your money, when my boyfriend and I signed up we were told we would not be locked into a contract but she did ask us roughly how long we would be signed up and we said “probably a year, give or take”. We have paid $45 a month for the two of us and then had to pay over $100 for “Gym Fees” on October. On top of all this, i has to block the Gyms number because the rep was calling every week to see where I was, why i hadn’t come in to work out and trying to get us to sign up for personal training (even though we said we were not interested more than once). Now we are trying to cancel and we’re told that we are locked into a one year contract until July 2020 but could pay an early termination fee of $150 per person. That is almost exactly the same amount we would have to pay to stay signed up for the remainder of the contract.If you’re considering becoming a member of this Gym then make sure you plan on going often and using all their amenities. If not then I highly suggest going to another private owned gym with lower rates.

I’ve been going about a month and love it here. The kids club is great with very sweet caretakers. I love being able to drop off my little ones while I work out. Staff is friendly and it has all the equipment and amenities I need. Very affordable gym compared to lifetime. I’ve had some run ins with some grumpy older members but other than that, this gym has been great! I definitely recommend it!

Great gym with superior group fitness classes. The fitness classes are included with membership and the instructors are amazing and motivational. Includes a pool, hot-tub, and sauna. They are constantly extended the amenities offered and keeping you updated on what’s going on. Newly renovated “kids club” with friendly and caring staff members.

Great prices, not over crowded on any type of equipment or class in 2 month Ive been consistent. Spin class (sprint) was awesome. They have a specialty area if youre a bit worried about getting in the way with inexperienced, balance or agility work. Trainers and staff are friendly and they have child care... 24/5 with 7 to 7 on weekends. Solid gym.

Ive been to a couple of different gyms over the last 20 years and Golds Gym has got to be the worst gym Ive ever been to. When I say worst, Im not even talking about the equipment Im talking about the level of accountability for lack of service and the screw you feeling you get as far as customer service and when it comes from the GM its even worse. I signed my girlfriend up for personal training sessions at the beginning of November and before we signed we were ensured that the time she wanted and the availability of female trainers was no problem. The problem was that my girlfriend never received her workout plan, her measurements, or meal plan along with the trainers canceling a couple of sessions and then both trainers quit. The trainers were professional and reached out to my girlfriend to let her know they were no longer at Golds Gym and that someone from the gym would reach to set her up with a new trainer which never happened. Paying $280 a month I shouldnt have to chase anyone down. When I get fed up with waiting I spoke with the GM Alex and realized she was behind 20+ sessions, only receiving 4 sessions. Alex said he would let her still get her 20+ sessions and find someone to take her at the time she wanted and if he couldnt he would refund ALL my money. He told us to think about it while he worked on it. A couple of days later he called me and told he found someone but at this point my girlfriend had a bad taste in her mouth about the whole experience and didnt want nothing to do with it anymore. I told Alex we didnt want to do it and he said I still had to pay half the cancellation fee yet another $280. I ended up paying $1120 for only 4 sessions...... $1120 FOR 4 SESSIONS!!!!! Now Alex is telling me there was nothing he could do as far as a refund, I said if you were willing to refund all my money at 1 point whats the problem now? When its all said and done no matter how you look at it I signed up for something with an expectation that wasnt even close to being met and youre telling me I have to deal with it.....I wouldnt even be in this situation if Golds Gym provided the service I paid for!! I even told Alex just give me half my money back and just leave it at that (which I shouldnt have to do)and was still told that cant be done. He also refused to put me in contact with someone who could do something about it. $1120 for 4 sessions, missing 20+ sessions, no workout plan, no measurements, no meal plan, and no refund is a BIG SCREW YOU. Now I have to waste my time to do what I have to do to get this situation corrected. IN NO WAY SHOULD THAT EVER BE ACCEPTABLE WHEN YOU PAY FOR A SERVICE AS A CONSUMER!

This is absolutely the best gym in the area if you are serious about fitness. Bryan, the manager, is fabulous and has put together a team of professionals that help create a encouraging, friendly and fun environment. The Les Mills program, managed by Josh, is one of the best in the country. I have travelled all over the world doing Les Mills and have never found a program as well-run as this one. The instructors work as a team driven to help each member succeed with their health and weight goals. More importantly, they walk the talk by effectively managing their own health goals so that they can lead by example. I am a healthier and much happier gym-goer thanks to Golds/Woodstock.

Decent gym if you really like to work out. They could do a better job keeping things up, especially the cardio equipment. Otherwise great place to work out.

The staff is incredibly rude, do not go to this gym. My experience was great at first, but the staff is under-trained, do not take responsibility of their actions, make customers embarrassed, and are incredibly rude! If you want to have a good gym experience, do not go to this gym! Youll have a better chance at Lifetime instead. It SMELLS better, nicer staff, and they actually know how to do their jobs.

Front desk and general gym staff are friendly. Equipment is well maintained and facility is clean. I would recommend Golds Gym Woodstock to those looking for a place to work out. Dominic is awesome!

Nice gym but if you are wanting to use for water aerobics during early evening not the best place....frequently have kids swim lessons in outer lanes (often multiple groups) at same time so you can be surrounded be loud noise or kids screaming.Dont plan on relaxing and be prepared to get your hair wet because you will have to cross lanes or be well enough to climb in/out by wall.

This is a fantastic gym! The staff is always helpful and friendly. My toddler is well taken care of in their kids daycare area. The equipment is well maintained, newer machines, and the classes are a lot of fun. Check this gym out!

Facility is awesome! And I love that they have the kid zone, because I found it difficult in the last to find child care while I worked out. I am so looking forward to utilizing everything Gold’s Gym has to offer!

Great service! Dominic is excellent and he’s a Giants fan like me. I work out six days a week and enjoy this facility.

Good environment. Gets a little packed during mid day but then again what good gym doesnt? If you go in the early mornings or evenings youll have full reign over whatever equipment you want pretty much. They have everything Lifetime has but this gym is for the people that actually want to work out and make progress. Compared to the price Golds is a no brainer. If you want all the frilly snowflake extra stuff and make enough to fork over $60/month for a membership then lifetime is the place for you. But if you want to go in get a good workout and proceed with your day. Then again I dont want people like you at my gym.But in all seriousness golds team and facility is awesome. They do what they can to help you and will actually go out of your way to make sure you as a customer are satisfied.

This could be a great gym if the people who worked there weren’t so rude and i haven’t even started a membership there yet. Just wanted to get a week pass so i could see the gym traffic and i also play basketball so i would like to know the days y’all have good groups of people playing on the court... but no that’s to much info for one to know. That’s crazy wonder how they are getting business with people like that on your phones?! But props to you for just getting a check! Also one of the reason why i couldn’t get a pass was because i live out of the zip code but there is no golds gym in my zip code the Woodstock one is the closetest one... so I’m willing to use my gas to drive to you but can’t get a pass to see if it’s worth it for me? Golds Gym Woodstock is fantastic. It is everything I had been looking for and had notbeen able to find. It is clean, the staff is great, and the equipment is top of the line. I can not recommend a better gym to anyone who is serious about getting in better shape and just taking care of themselves. A super place and the best gym I have ever had the pleasure of joining. I’ve worked out at a lot of facilities and this is hands down my favorite gym. The staff is always super friendly, great selection of free weights and machines. Not only is the fitness equipment great but the amenities such as the sauna, pool, steam room, etc!

I liked the gym. I never had any issues & I liked the kids zone. One thing I would suggest is the classes be scheduled later in the day because unless you get off at 3 or live fairly close the classes are really tailored to you.

My husband and I joined Golds Gym a couple months ago when we relocated to the area. We enjoy going to the gym a few times a week and, being new to the area, enjoy the community cultivated at Golds Gym. I have also signed up for personal training and love the variety of workouts and personalized attention I have received from my trainer. I believe my trainer truly cares about, not only my fitness, but my overall well-being. I am so happy we decided to join Golds Gym when we were gym shopping a few months ago. Thank you to the staff and trainers who invest their time and energy into creating a fun place to go be fit where my husband and I also can spend quality time together!

Golds gym is the best gym I’ve ever been to! It is always so clean in here and there’s a lot of space to do a lot of different workouts! I love how many different cardio machines there are and there’s also a big walking track around the gym at the top! I recommend this gym to anybody and everybody who is interested in looking for a new gym!

My husband and I have been members for over two years and I really like this gym. The gym area and locker rooms are kept very clean. I like the wide variety of types, brands and styles of exercise equipment and free equipment. I never went to work out and couldnt find a machine to use, even at the busy after work times. I am not a huge fan of exercise classes, but they had many options and the classes are well attended. The staff has always been nice but the gym is set up so you dont need to interact to get stuff done. Scan your card when you go in, grab a tiny towel and work out.I wanted to add my review because we recently cancelled our membership because we moved. I noticed most of the criticisms of the gym were about cancellations so I was nervous. Happy to report we did not have any problems. Previously I have signed my daughter up for temporary memberships when she comes home from college- each time we got the correct charges and correct cancellations, but I thought maybe they were just careful with that because we were still members. But no, worked just as well when we cancelled our couples membership. I went in, filled out one form. Membership was cancelled just like contract said and I got the email the next day- no more charges.My personal experience with Golds has been great both in the gym and with the payment process.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. Also for the price you get SO many things included. The class teachers are the best in town! The property and gym is very clean and neat, I would recommend this gym to anyone!

Horribly run down gym. Does very little maintenance to locker rooms and pool. After several health violations we decided to change to a better gym in Woodstock. **UPDATE: They have now turned us over to an aggressive collection agency because we canceled our membership due to the above mentioned issues. BUYER BEWARE!!

Great facility! Had plenty of classes to choose from and a great diversity of machines. The pool is awesome, but be sure to reserve a lane. The locker rooms (female) are typically neat and tidy. Only thing I find annoying about Golds is their weird hours on the weekends.

I worked out at this gym for many years and they keep it very clean and the staff is so friendly. Very helpful with military.

My wife and I been members for seven years. I Iove this place, Its like a second home. Morgan is always so happy and greets the members with a friendly smile. The equipment is constantly maintained and replaced as needed. Just a great place to train. Come by soon and join!

There are numerous reasons i am thouroughly impressed by this location. The facility itself is one of the cleanest and expansive i have seen. They have classes running all day also while having an all day child care service that allows for the utmost convenience. Overall nothing but a positive attitude and the best customer service.

So far, I have only been going for a few weeks, but I am very pleased. I signed up for PT, and my trainer is great! He is very encouraging, motivating, and patient with my super out of shape self. The staff is very friendly, and the facility is clean with a ton of machines and stations to get a great workout in.

I have been a member at Golds for over 3 years! I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE Golds Gym in Woodstock! I have lived in multiple states around the country and have never found a gym that compares, especially for $9 a month. My favorite part is the group fitness classes! They have phenomenal instructors for fitness classes, who travel and teach other instructors. They are all trained and utilize Les Mills programs and truly care for each of us taking their classes, in and out of the gym. I do not utilize all of the numerous amenities at the gym but everything is clean and working. I also love the convenience of having my chiropractor/physical therapist in the gym. I drive 20 minutes each way to attend, passing many other gyms... Golds is like family.

Dominic was very welcoming and professional. I thoroughly enjoyed my Shbam dance class. The facility is very nice and the staff is awesome!
