Exceptional service. I needed service for a flat tire. I was stuck in the pouring rain on the side of the road and Scott’s towing arrived and had me on my way in no time. The young man was very friendly.
Very disappointed with the service. I had just gotten out of the Hospital that dayI had spent 4 days in hospital and all I wanted was to get my groceries and medications from the trunk of my car without any hassles. The groceries were and meds had spent 4 days in the trunk of my car and I just wanted to retrieve them so they wouldnt spoil or get taken, especially my meds.They refused to let me get the meds and groceries unless I immediately gave them the title to my car, which was totalled, or paid $300.00 CASH to ransom my things.No compassion, no empathy, nothing BUT GREED and a cold shoulder.What was I going to do steal an undrivable car? Businesses like this must forget policies especially when a persons meds are needed.I suffer from heart problems, thyroid problems, have a stent in my artery from the heart. I also suffer from SEVERE PTSD . I was an infantryman fighting in Vietnam and I also lost my wife in 2004 which makes my PTSD worse.The aggregations I faced at Scott Towing has caused me to relapse into severe depression, lose of sleep, and difficulty controlling my emotions. Scott Towing must be more flexable. Policies be DAMNED. People first always. People over money always.
Please do not send Scotts towing to my house ever again. They were scheduled for 1:09. I called them at 1:52 and was told that he would be there in 25 minutes. He finally arrived at 3:00 and told me that he couldnt drive up my driveway because the trees would scratch his truck. So he got out his little jump starter and proceeded to see if he could jump start the car. I told him that if it were that easy, I wouldnt need a tow truck. He walked back down to his truck and then walked back up shut my hood. In the meantime I went out and got the hedge clipper on the pole told them that I would take down the leaves that he was worried about. He told me that hed already canceled and I could call my insurance company. He was out of there at 3:13.
I just experienced the worst. Extremely rude place of business.. Toyota roadside assistance used them as a third party.. while Toyota is just really nice.. this towing company was an extremely rude. And after waiting an hour they cancelled.. my car was laying on the rim.. that sucks that they could not come and help...
These guys are great they know what they are doing unlike other towing companies. They are quick and extremely reasonable.
Needed to tow my car from my house to my mechanic. They arrived in less than 15 minutes. The driver (didnt catch his name) was nice, funny, quick (and pretty to look at...seriously)! Followed him to my mechanics and the unload and paperwork took less than 7 minutes. Thank you for the great service!

Excellent service and fair pricing, my 2 tractor trailers got stuck in the snow and they pulled me out in less than half hour; 2 very nice young guys I didn’t get their names, I wish all towing companies treat ppl the way they treat me; the first company that I called wanted to charged me 1500$ for the 2 trucks Scott’s did it for less than 600.
I called Scott’s Towing & Recovery, the roadside assistance service I pay for with purchase of my vehicle, to request a jump start on Sunday evening, 11/10/19. When the tow operator came, I told him my car battery died (likely due to cold temp.). He aggressively replied that it was my Nissan key fob not communicating with my car; that he has seen this a million times. He made this conclusion immediately & told me my car needed to be towed. He did not rule out the possibility that my car battery simply died. I asked him to rule it out by jump starting it. He angrily said he would. I provided some detail on the noise it was making. He said: You and I are done. He told me to chill as he walked away, sped off, leaving my stepson & I scared and stranded, without providing service. His reaction was completely unprovoked, out of line, inappropriate & unacceptable. My stepson & I had to search for a store, walk along a busy highway to purchase a jump start kit. I successfully jump started the battery that he said was not dead.
Customer service Cathy is the worst person to ever speak to she doesn’t care one bit, I used to have zero issues I asked her to speak to manager she goes it’s 9:30 at night you can call tomarow & hung up on me. And the driver was incosiderate I need to speak to a manager ASAP! I am not happy with how I was handled !! Also blocked my calls . Extremely rude. Beyond unprofessional the dispatchers are horrible. Whoever is the manager just know your workers are the worst most inconvenient people wouldn’t even give me direction on how to speak to someone higher than them. If you need a tow do NOT use them
This “award winning” joke of a business doesn’t even deserve one star!!! My truck was towed out of Rahway and had some scratches on the front from almost 10 years of driving it. Now my truck’s bumper is COMPLETELY damaged. The liners in the wheel well were pulled out so now it’s loose. Cracks, scratches, dents all over the front. TERRIBLE. I filed a police incident report but I wish I could post pictures. DON’T CALL THIS PLACE FOR TOWING!!!!!
This company is by far the worst!!!!! They had me waiting for 3 hours and not to mention the receptionist was the worst. It is unbelievable at how she handle the situation. I received a text that said that I had to wait for 90 minutes, an hour and 30 minutes passed by and still nothing so I decided to call again and all she kept saying was “he will be there in 10 minutes” so I waited the 10 minutes and still nothing, I called again and at this point I’m beyond frustrated, told her that I’m tired of waiting and she goes “oh no you’re not raising your voice at me” and she then proceeded to cancel the truck. After 3 hours of waiting inside my car that was blazing since my car wouldn’t turn on.for a company to stay in business they need their clientele and referrals. It is amazing at how this lady still have a job. I read all the reviews and they all had the same experience as me if not worse. I Definitely do not recommend this place do yourself a favor and don’t even bother doing business with them. Worst experience of my life.
Scott Senior and Scott Jr. were the nicest people. They were very understanding, and a ball full of laughs. Scott Jr. wanted to give my son a toy, but didnt have it in the truck at the time. When I picked my car up from the garage, there was the toy Scott Jr. was looking for. I am more than satisfied with the service I have received. Thank you Scotts Towing and Recovery for making my situation a little better with humor and humility.
Had the pleasure of meeting the owner yesterday while picking up a vehicle that was towed from an accident. He was very accommodating with helping me do my job and had a good conversation with him about the line of business we are in, wish more people in the industry were like him ....

This has to be the worst company to deal with three hours waiting and then they damaged the car. You would think we could even get an apology but no it apparently is our fault for breaking down. If roadside assistance sends these guys refuse the tow it will save you a headache I promise.
This place really wasnt that bad. Everyone is complaining pretty hardcore about it. Getting your car towed sucks and I think everyone leaving a review just has a sour taste from the whole experience. Ive had my car towed in the past a couple times and this place is clean and the guys are nice.
Cathy and Team from Scotts Towing very rude, ill mannered, people.I dont want to give a single star, review dont allow me to post without any stars.My car was towed due to accident, I made arrangements by my insurance, GEICO for their payments. Requested their office for allowing me to pick out my personal stuff from the car.I made multiple trips to the location at Metuchen after scheduling appointments but no one from scott showed up at location to support. Finally after multiple attempts of scheduling I was able to go to the location, but was not allowed to take my personal belongings from my OWN car. Very rude, ill mannered person the lady who spoke to me Cathy denying to give her last name and the persons name who misbehaved.
My sister Carla and I were stranded for 3 hours during todays snowstorm. Wed been told by AARP that we couldnt get a tow until after 9 p.m. Edison Police called Scotts Towing. Within 30 minutes, the driver (Scott) arrived. We were on our way 15 minutes later. Scott was not only professional and productive, but he was pleasant & allayed our concerns as 2 women stuck on the road. He made a harrowing experience much more bearable, & hes an asset to your company.
I had to have my vehicle towed after an accident & the driver who arrived was Billy. He was professional, courteous, very friendly & took care of my car. When I had to have Scott’s come pick up my car to tow it to the body shop, Billy returned! I was glad to see that he was the one to come help me out once again! He made light out of the whole situation & again was very friendly towards me! I can’t express how greatly I appreciated his assistance. After waiting longer than estimate time, I called in to check status and was greeted by an extremely rude receptionist. When I asked how much longer I was told an additional 20 minutes. After more than 45 minutes, I called again and was told 5 more minutes by the receptionist. All in all I have yet to see my tow truck driver and were at the hour pt. I get being busy, but shouldnt you call me to update if youre running late not me continuously call to see whats going on?!Please get a new system in place and hire a new receptionist. From the look of previous reviews thats been necessary for some time now.
PLEASE BE WARNED DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!Many insurance companies apparently use this poorly rated company as a third party for roadside assistance. Unfortunately, they do not show up, give no ETA’s, will give you the run around have you waiting for hours, will cancel your service without notice and not inform you, and talk to you in the most unprofessional, rude, nasty way while hanging up on you repeatedly when you call to be updated. When you need roadside assistance it is a serious matter and this company provides nothing but a waste of your time topped off with disrespect. I urge everyone to follow suit and file their complaints with the BBB, the better business bureau so this company can be blacklisted. It is no coincidence that everyone is having similar horrible experiences and the good reviews seem calculated and fraudulent!
Colleen is EXTREMELY RUDE>>>>and Nasty.... I had system failure in my 2012 Range Rover.The computer kept showing a system error in my gas range showing 2 and then the a 0 gas range. I did not want to mover the vehicle due to not knowing what was going to happen. Do not use this company.. In fact ..I will be filing an official complaint. This is just the kind of people that cause harm on others by notdoing their job. She stated is it my Fault you ran out of GAS???????? well since you have a problem I will cancel the service call. I said WOW and GOD BLESS YOU. I am now on the phone with my insurance company... Hoping that they are fired.KEEP IN MIND THE ONLY WAY TO POST IS TO GIVE AT LEAST ONE STAR.
Rude service, price for tow and storage is outrageous. I literally had my car impounded over an entire weekend and it cost half as much to get it out as it did to pick up my car from Scotts Towing after less than 24 hours. That is all bad enough, but the customer service is just terrible. Unfortunately theres a good chance that if youre using this service it wasnt by choice. Edison PD called for this tow before they allowed me to get it through my insurance. When I paid the fee to have my car released they forced me to take it off the lot and park it in the street and wait for the next tow truck to take it to get repaired. They would not let me leave it at their station and let the tow truck pick it up from them. I had to leave it across the street in a sketchy area. My experience became a nightmare when my insurance company decided to use their towing services to move my vehicle from their location to the place where it would be repaired. And even though I was out in front of their shop in the street, I still had to wait over an hour for my EPA, which was meaningless because they didnt even load the vehicle for over two and a half hours after the time they were supposed to get there to tow it... And it was right in front of their facility! I have used many services throughout the country has I have moved around with military service over the last 10 years. And this is the worst towing service I have ever dealt with in my life and its not even a contest. That is not an exaggeration. If you ever find out that your vehicle is being towed by Scotts Towing and Recovery, cancel it right away and get somebody else to pick up your car even if you have to wait over an hour. Or just set your car on fire and walk away. Youre better off than using their service. Unprofessional, not dependable, inexcusable and overpriced. That is Scotts Towing and Recovery.

DONT USE THIS TOWING SERVICE! They do not accept payment from the body shop when your car is towed by them. They require you to go to a bank and get a bank check. The will not accept your personal check or credit card and they will not accept the check from long standing reputable body shops.
The trucks are the cleanest tow trucks you will ever see! The drivers are always professional and in uniform.***URGENT UPDATE 9/28/20 *** Google keeps listing this company has permanently closed. This towing company HAS NEVER been close and has been in business over 39 years. The company is trying to work on this problem with Google so if it comes up as close the company is NOT it is ALWAYS OPEN 24 hours a day seven days a week 365 days a year for emergency Towing and Road service
I will always recommend Scotts to any of my friends/family. Very professional and polite. Drivers where very kind and always showed in a timely manner. Deff my go to for any tow related issues I will ever have in the future
POS company!! The rep. On the phone was horrendous! Took them 95 mins to come to us for a jump!!! I called them 3 times and the attitude was atrocious. The ONLY good thing about the company was the nice tow truck driver that really helped us out. Ill be complaining to my insurance company since they are the ones that sent them.
My experience was similar. I made one phone call to ask about update status and a rude lady picked up the phone. And told me I had to wait. I was calm, cool, collective, and let it be.My second time experience was quite almost the same one of my friends cars got towed and I wanted to pick it up . There were completely rude. Quite honestly I dont know how company who treats people that way stay in business. Maybe because they have the official police tow contract or the Parkway or Turnpike. An absolute nightmare dealing with this company. I contemplated whether it was even worth leaving this review because I couldn’t even begin to put into words the level of unprofessionalism, rudeness, and lack of customer service displayed by the guy who was sent (through my insurance company) to come provide service. My car had completely stalled on the road and at the time, I didn’t know it what was wrong so I called in for service. Long story short, the guy arrived in a tow truck and ended up leaving me stranded on the street with a dead car- not to mention that my car had stalled at a dangerous intersection. He had said that I called in for a “jump” and not a “tow” so he couldn’t help, and then later lied and said my car did start fine after he gave me a jump. Are you kidding me??? He was there to see that my car did not start after the jump, and knew that I needed a tow. Instead in an unprofessional and cowardly move, he left me stranded without warning and then chose to lie about it later. I had asked him if he could give me a quick few to call my insurance and while I was on the phone, he pulled off. I just couldn’t believe what I was seeing as I watched him drive with his tow truck and and leave me behind. No goodbye or good luck from him at all— just left without warning. I have never experienced such a thing at all. As I am writing this it’s still unbelievable, I already reported this to my insurance and next thing Is to file something they call a DVR to complete a complaint. I will also be following up with Better business bureau as suggested by some of the other reviewers. If you can help it at all, run very far from this company. My car broke down, I was vulnerable, and all I wanted was help. My insurance company ended up calling another tow company in Elizabeth nj and they were excellent, quick, and professional.
After waiting for 1 hour and 10 mins, i called them and a unresponsive rude receptionist says that they have an issue with the auto repair service center and they cannot come to tow my vehicle. They should have informed me or insurance company earlier . She simply disconnected my call while I am speaking with her and wasted my time.. worst experience. I strongly suggest to not go here..
The woman is the rudest person on the planet. Complained to Honda to get these guys off the service list. This woman needs some help. She was angry and rude for no particular reason.Editing because I read the other reviews and there is a clear pattern here. Unfortunate we have no control over who the roadside assistance for Honda assigns but I made sure to file a complaint with Honda so others do t have to suffer. Recommend someone do this for the other car companies like Toyota too.These people need to be put out of business.

If your roadside assistance assigns this company for towing, call them and ask for a different company right away. Read the reviews from Google and Yelp and youll understand why.Avoid this company at all costs unless you want to wait ***4 hours*** for them never to show up and cancel on you without an explanation, and this whole time my car was 10 minutes away from their office. The customer rep was friendly but I suspected I was getting the run-around every time I called to ask where the truck was. If your trucks are too busy or you dont want to haul a vehicle because its too far then let the appropriate parties know right away. Dont make somebody wait for hours on end and then cancel the service without an afterthought.After this company cancelled and failed to show up, a different towing company came with the hour!

Honestly, I wasn’t even mad that they took 2.5hrs to come after stating 30mins. For all I know it’s busy, and they got held up so I’m going to put that to one side.My issue is (like others), they will come to start your car, and when that doesn’t work, they tell you to call the insurance company to get you towed. When you ask them to wait I was told by the driver had four more calls to go to, and was left stranded.I call my insurance, they are of course confused to why he didn’t wait. 10 mins later, the same guy comes to pick me up.Even better, it’s like he forgot that he was with me just 10 mins ago, and tells me he was on his way home and this will be the final one for the night. I of course played dumb as I wanted to get home and didn’t trust him at all.The problem with this company is that there is no accountability for their bad service. You’re forced to use them by the insurance company and they know that. My advice is literally have the insurance company on the phone as they try to start your car, so they can authorise the tow right there and then.A simply terrible customer service experience.

My insurance company sent a request in for roadside assistance (battery jump) at 5:15pm, they gave an ETA of 6:47pm. Waited in my car in the freezing cold until 6:57pm & as I started to call my insurance company because of a no-show, I received a phone call from my ins company exclaiming that this “company” called them at 6:55pm (8 mins beyond the original ETA) to cancel bc their equipment wasn’t working & when they received the request, they assumed it’ll be working before the time they gave. Instead of not accepting the request from the very beginning because of their insufficiency they accepted it & failed to communicate their status until well after they were suppose to get to me. This was highly unprofessional & inconsiderate on their part. Due to their negligence, I had to wait an additional TWO hours in the cold for another company to be sent out. Way to go! Next time, try to spare an innocent person’s time and security & allow a better company to accommodate them.

The worst customer service ever! The person on the phone was yelling at me for asking when they will be coming. They were delayed for an hour but without even apologizing, she was yelling at me when I asked how long it will take the driver to get here. All I wanted was an estimate of arrival time. I had to call to cancel the service after waiting for two hours because I was too late for my work. I should have read the reviews earlier and requested a different towing company in the first place.
BE AWARE. THIS GUYS TOWED OUR TRUCK FOR 1 MILE AND IT COST US $975. UNACCEPTABLE!!!

I was told theyll be there for my tow in 90 minutes, they never showed up so after repeatedly calling and 5 and half hours later, I was left with no choice but to cancel tow. These people and this company are very dishonest with their timing.

Horrible attitude and service to customers who have no option but to pay for storage. The cops choose a towing company after an accident and youre left to deal with their tow yard of choice. BRAIN FLOWERS the manager is only out to make a fool of himself and the company he works for. Causing a scene and refusing to allow customers in to retrieve personal items along with threats to tow and impound vehicles in his parking lot, Vehicles that were only on the property not picked up by one of Scotts tow trucks. Flowers Stating Ill tow your car and impound it get it off my lot cursing while driving off and waving his hands to continue to show his immaturity and unprofessional behaviors. After having the Woodbridge Township police officers intervene the issue still wasnt handled. The manager refused to return to unlock the gate. Companies who suffer will do anything to make an extra buck. Its a real good description of a business when even the police wont call them for a tow company in the same Township.

My son had a car accident on Wednesday on his way home from college. The car he was driving he inherited from my mom, who died a year ago. We learned the next day the car was totaled due to the airbags deploying.and body damage. The sentiment of my mom gone, caused us all heartfelt tears with burying this car, which still had her scent of perfume and cigarette smoke. I spoke to Colleen at Scotts Towing. I thought at first she was pleasant during our conversations during the week. I dealt with Geico and kept Colleen abreast that we would be coming in on Saturday morning and retrieving our personal belongings in the car and the brand new five-year warranty battery we bought. I was holding tears back in the pouring cold rain when we walked in this morning seeing the car for the first time in the yard that a man brought us in to see. It felt like burying Mom all over again. Our son was crushed emotionally and cried for days since the accident feeling bad missing grandma. To my surprise, as I introduced myself COLLEEN yelled at me when I said I am taking my battery and a few personal items, which I verbally said earlier in the week. She yelped I record every conversation and you never mentioned the battery. Tears started pouring down my cheeks, I said Colleen, we spoke I was taking our personal belongings and I spoke to Geico I was going to take the battery and advised you. She screamed at me as I spoke softly crying and she said You cannot take the battery - if you want the battery when it gets towed to the junk yard down Carteret (our town) you can get it there (implying repay for our battery). I said Colleen, are you implying that I am lying to you and I didnt mention the battery - I even spoke to Geico about it. She said Thats right!. No compassion, no professionalism and false accusation of accusing me of making up we were taking the battery and she knew nothing about it. I heard her unkind to another person on the phone as I went in to offer her the title to the car and she yelled We dont take the title, I dont know what you do with that..... I am a 58 year old woman who lost her mom a year ago with the car being all I had in her memory, which Colleen knew. Instead of lightening the experience, she was a nasty sob and also she lied and doesnt listen closely as I cleared it with Geico and reported to her that I would take our new battery. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND SCOTTS TOWING DUE TO COLLEEN. So many people out of work. She should be fired for how she treated me. I will make sure the media and facebook for starters are made aware of how I was treated by Colleen of Scotts Towing.
Worst towing company...never work with them... I have geico roadside assistance. Geico told me that scott towing will be at my place to assist with flat tier... after 1 hr 15 min I called scott towing and lady said guy will be there in 5 min... after 10 min I called her back and she said more 10 min also she threatened me that if I will call again she will stop the guy. I called again to say that you can not talk like this, and she cancelled the service.. I waited for 1 hr 30 min and that rude lady cancelled the service. Never try them.

Was on 287 in traffic and the driver of the tow truck almost ran into the side of car as he went flying down the shoulder wouldnt let them tow anything with drivers like that. Guy shouldnt even have a license

After waiting nearly FIVE HOURS after I had been told my my ins co they would be there in 90 minutes, the driver decided he “Didn’t like my attitude” and that if I “say one more word I’m going to leave you here.” I asked him what he was taking about and he said, “That’s it! I won’t be spoken to that way!” And left. I had to call my ins co and get another towing service out. I just can’t see how they stay in business.
