Every time I rent a car from Alamo, I never have any problems. The customer service is very good. I had to extend my rental and the was willing to help and try to find me a lower rate. Now that is great customer service. They try to save you money and yes it doesnt happen all the time but it is good that their try. Thank you so much for helping me out. See you guys soon ; )

Overcharged for car rental.Dec 2020 - Jan 2021: I rented from Alamo through a package deal with Travelocity Flight+Car.The good: It was quick enough to get the car when I checked in after my flight. The service person cleaned the snow off the windows, and it was running and warmed up when we got in. Car was in immaculate condition and was a mid-sized SUV for my family of 5 as requested.There is a gas station 1/4 mile from Alamo. I filled up (kept gas receipt) and then dropped the car off in a return line at Alamo. SUPER simple process. It made me a bit nervous, as I didnt get a receipt when I turned my car in, and they didnt inspect for damage or check gas level at that time. Would I get screwed? (Answer: Not on this, but getting a receipt would have helped with the next paragraph.)The Bad: When I checked my credit card it was over the agreed amount by $153. I called a few times, but typically near the end of my workday, so I couldnt reach the right department. When I finally DID get through, after speaking to a rep, I was placed on hold. About 7 minutes later the line went dead. I called back and ...customer service was closed again. He apparently hung up on me when it was time for him to clock out. A few more phone calls...Okay were refunding you $153.39. This without me telling them how much they had overcharged. The refund did come through a couple days later.The Ugly: The fact they knew how much they had overcharged without me telling them means they had the information. Do they do this frequently, hoping people wont notice?Overall, a good experience. I *will* use them again, but I wont trust them. I will keep all receipts, all quotes and continue to double check them.I did get a please contact us message after leaving this review. I tried, with no results. Gave up. Dont care enough to try again.

Was told 2 weeks after and another rental later there was window damage to another car I had rented after it was dropped off and signed off on now they are telling me to pay 990$ or it goes against my credit and all I get are oh wells and theres nothing I can do about it when there has been multiple issues w car theft and property damage done to cars at that location and get no help they have scammed me and it has been a different price after the fact always they only charged the quoted price once and would not let me pay first always at the end of the rental do they can RIP you off and then wait 2 weeks to tell you there was damage to a window ARE THEY SERIOUS.Besides barely ever having the car I was expecting prior to arrival I would watch my back hereUPDATE...Thanks to Jessica in the Oklahoma office I was vindicated and she took care of this quick and realized they would lose more money not letting me rent ..she was very professional and Im sure her colleague Kevin Jackson who basically said you are responsible no matter what happened you signed a contract which makes no sense to me seeing I was checked out at arrival and cleared ..makes more money then her which we all know and is facts men in same pr even lower positions as woman get paid more and he didnt even want to be bothered and didnt want to waste his time checking out the facts of this and keeping a very good national car rental client who out of probably 40 cars in a year or 2 that Ive rented never had one problem or scratch and even when bradley airport office over charged me many times at the end of my rentals but always had a car I was looking for so made it convenient to rent cause many offices at the time during covid didnt have much to rent out I still rented from national so thanks to Jessica seeing a issue for what it is and not acting like the damage happened to her personally they will keep a client who will continue to make them money ..thank you Jessica I hope you get rightfully rewarded for your expertise and professionalism

Front desk reception was quick polite and efficient. I was a bit nervous as it was my first time renting a vehicle, but all expectations were exceeded. I feel terrible that I cannot remember the awesome employee that assisted me on the afternoon of 10/15/20. She was dealing with a difficult customer ahead of me, but continued to be polite with a sunny disposition. I will definitely be back to this company on my next trip.

The pick up and drop off were very easy and smooth. The staff were all incredibly friendly. The car was very clean and worked well. We got to chose from a variety of small SUVs. Ours only had 1,200 miles on it. Brand new. The rental car facility was a short drive from the airport. The vans seemed to run regularly so we did not have to wait long.

The pick-up truck I had reserved was not ready when I arrived on time at Alamo. The counter person went out and found it over by servicing- he took it into the car wash for all of 30 seconds and then drove it over to me. Looking over a wet black truck I missed several items that should have raised a red flag- first and most importantly this truck had two different set of tires - Goodyear on the front and Firestone on the back. Had I noticed this I would not have accepted this truck as this is a sign that this vehicle was involved in some sort of mishap especially since it only had approximately 26,000 miles on it. As I drove it home on Interstate 91 the truck began to shake and became squirrely, I was closer to my house so I went there and called Alamo. I was transferred over to emergency services I informed them of the problem and that I want another truck, the FIRST gentlemen I spoke to told me he called the Alamo branch manager, however he got the answering machine and left a urgent message for him to call me and advise that I should receive a call in one hour and if not to call back. The hour came and went with no call. I called emergency services this time I spoke to a Woman who called the Hartford branch again and spoke to the Manager who told her there is nothing he can do for me. I asked her if there is any other type of vehicle, I was told NO. I informed her this truck is unsafe, however I have an important meeting the next day and MUST be there on time. I had material that must be delivered there and that is why I need a vehicle with cargo room. Then we became “disconnected”. In the end I was forced to use an unsafe truck to travel overnight because there was on other option. Not a good way to satisfy the customer and make sure they are safe. I have been an Alamo customer for over two decades and it will be a long time before I choose them again.

The rental agent was fast, friendly and exceeded expectations. With a late arrival I anticipated problems, delays and poor vehicle selection. Pleasantly surprised.To improve, the Enterprise van that transported me should have been labeled for Alamo. The bus was waiting right in front of me as I waited 10 minutes for an Alamo bus. The driver of the Budget bus queried me and directed me to the Enterprise bus. The driver was distracted texting... Not too bad, could have been much worse but should have been better.

The car was dirty. We have been renting from Alamo for YEARS!!! And especially during the pandemic, cleanliness is the utmost priority. There was no other car available. So we had to wipe down the car.We saw cars at our hotel that had Hertz stickers on the doors to reassure the renter that the car was cleaned well. We will rent with them next time.

The most RIDICULOUS and FRAUDULENT last minute hidden charges that WERE NOT made known to me at the time of vehicle pickup, and not mentioned in the 2 week reservation I made. WATCH OUT & BE VERY aware of this. I ended up canceling my rental due to an additional $800 sir charge, which they CLAIM would be refunded 7 to 10 days after I return the vehicle, but were going to charge me at pickup time! DO YOUR HOMEWORK, and look elsewhere for a rental!

When I got to Alamo on time there were no Trucks available for my rental. The the counter agent tried t give me a smaller standard size truck than I had reserved, so I had to show him the reservation again. When a full size truck did come in it was a 4 wheel drive model which is very high off the ground and not easy for me to get into as it was I needed a stool for my wife. I said I would wait for another truck but the agent said this is all they had. NOT HAPPY

The worse experience I ever had. I cant put a 0 star because it’s only 1 to 5. I do not ever ever ever want or will rent on this company again. Even any family member . I had rent a plenty of car with different companies and never had any issues. They treat people like if somebody will steal any of their cars. When you gave them everything credit car, driver License, your phone number. They leave me with my entire family on the parking lot .

Great experience! When our bags didnt fit into the trunk of the car we rented, staff went out of their way to find a larger one without extra charge. Staff were friendly and made sure we were happy. Drop off was a breeze.

The vehicle was dirty when received. Alamo put it thru the car wash but when I got home to start packing, there was hair, old food (French fries), wrappers, dirt/sand. I contacted Alamo to report it. My husband then spent a half hour vacuuming and cleaning the windows. When we returned the vehicle, we also reported the EZ pass appeared to only work half the time. Alamo was very accommodating though, apologized profusely and made up for the inconvenience. Despite all of this, I would rent from them again as they were very nice and their prices are incomparable to any other rental facility. Good customer service goes a long way.

Although I am a pretty regular customer, this last visit wasn’t the same. I arrived and the car reservation was for a mini van. I offered to go to a smaller vehicle at same rate. Couldn’t make that adjustment due to the rate I was given. So he expedited me through and pointed to the car and said keys in car... it was pouring rain - I didn’t have an umbrella, but walked out to the car and found doors locked and no keys in car. Walked back in and waited a bit until he noticed I was back inside. The keys were behind the counter. No offer of getting it or an umbrella. Pretty wet traveling another hour to my destination. Drop off was quick and easy as usual.

I pre paid for an economy / Pick up truck...they had hardly any cars on the lot...the pick up was rented before me to another person, I had to wait half an hour to find out, what they had to offer...I ended up with a gas gozzeling Ford Expedition...crazy...the car was not clean either, floormats dirty and overall cleanliness questionable.

I live close to various rental car agencies but I always drive the extra distance to my local airport and ALWAYS rent from Alamo. I have always had good experiences from them. Theybare always willing to accommodate. For instance my mast experience i reserved a 7 seater crossover SUV comparable to a VW Atlas. When I got there the only one they had was a Dodge Journey. Now even in the same class this is a considerable size difference to the Atlas. I am a family of 6 and we did not have a lot of luggage so cargo space was not important to me but driving comfort was. When I explained this to the representative there he quickly showed me other options they had that were 1 upgrade from what I reserved. He ended up providing me with a Nissan Armada which was very comfortable and accommodating. Also since I pre-paid my reservation online he did not charge me extra as he was only going to charge extra if I went 2 upgrades to a Yukon Denali. Now it is this type of customer service and attention to the needs of the customer that will not only have me and my family comi g back for future rentals (as a frequent traveler we rent a lot....lol) but also recommending them to any family or friends who are looking for quality service. We recently traveled to the Hartford area, and rented a SUV from Alamo. From the time the van driver picked us up at BDL until they dropped us off a few days later, the experience with Alamo was great. Every Alamo employee we encountered was friendly and helpful, especially Jerrod behind the rental counter. He listened as we explained we were very interested in a vehicle with safety features like back-up camera and especially blind spot indicators. He checked the inventory and found a new (7K miles) Ford Ranger, then quickly had it washed and cleaned before handing us the keys and walking us through the controls. The car worked great for us.We will come back to Alamo every time we need a car, especially when we travel to Hartford!

Overall good. Arrived on a Wednesday afternoon to find a very long line of customers waiting to get to the check in counter. My driver suggested I go to the kiosk to avoid the line, which I did with pleasure. I picked up my reservation from the kiosk quickly, but there was no drop off location mentioned on the receipt and no way to get the omission addressed without getting in the long line. An employee in the lot suggested I take the issue to the exit attendant. The attendant, Bill, cheerfully corrected the rental agreement so that my drop off charges were compliant with the advertised plan. My thanks to the driver, lot attendant and exit attendant. The car worked very well.

Great price, great car, great service! I got a great deal by going through Costco Travel. At the time Alamo was offering small SUV for $200 less than economy cars. I totally lucked out as the following week New England was hit by the Noreaster Stella. The vehicle was one of those small four wheel drive Jeeps with the creepy Coraline eyes as rear tail lights. I can vouch for its carrying capacity as I used it to help my mother move out of her home. The four wheel drive worked really well on the snow-covered roads and I returned the car to Alamo covered in mud and salt. I want to thank the office staff for not giving me a high pressure sales pitch, the shuttle drivers for being prompt and courteous, and finally the cleanup crew for reasons mentioned above. I have used several other rental companies out of the Hartford Airport and I would definitely choose Alamo over the others.

Not only a great price every time, but every step of the way they are the most customer focused rental company I have ever worked with. After over 30 years of worldly travel, going between Hertz, Avis, and a host of others, NONE of them beats Alamo. How stupid I have been. Seriously, this is the best car rental company in the world. I rented a car from Knoxville Tyson airport. I was asked if I wanted the insurance, I told them no,I was covered by my insurance. He told me to initial all spots to decline the insurance. So I did. Come to find out he had me initial that I wanted the insurance. I should have read it first. He charged me an extra 25.99 a day. To top it off I drove it off 900 miles and was asked by Connecticut State trooper where is the license plate, what does Tag applied for mean? After about 30 min of calling people. He told me instead of having it towed,drive it home and park it. It s not legal in Connecticut. I tried to call Alamo where I rented it no answer. Called 3 different numbers that I was given by different different Alamo foreign employees, I finally got someone who said, they will get me a new car in the morning. Worse experience I have ever had renting a car!Day two said they were going to give another car. Talk to someone at Bradley airport all of a sudden told me he he would call me back. 9pm no call. Company is not dependable garbage. Probably going to have to sue to get my money back!

Fast shuttle service to the terminal to the car rental desk. When they saw the line had gotten long, they opened the National desk for Alamo customers. The car was clean and I had no problems with it. The return was quick and simply. And the wait for the shuttle back to the airport was less than 5 minutes. I used one of the last minute deals due to flight rescheduling. Alamo had a better deal than my original reservation with another company (they wanted to up-charge me something that was the airlines fault, not mine). Will rent form Alamo for my next flight to Bradley.

At the airport the shuttle was just leaving but the driver saw me, stopped and got out to help with my bag. I had checked in on line so I bypassed the desk, went right to the car lot and found a car in the well marked categories. The stop at the gate was easy and friendly. Return was a piece of cake....on the way to the airport in 2 minutes. Great experience.

Recently had an outstanding car rental experience here. At the very beginning of my annual vacation, my flight had been delayed a few hours, resulting in my arriving at this Alamo at about 10:30 at night, as a torrential downpour ensued. The original car which Id secured months ahead of time to rent from here was no longer available- the car was there but they couldnt find the keys. I explained to Matt, the manager who helped me, that this car rental was really important to me and my mom for this vacation...Id created a bucket list for my 71 year old mom, and she wanted to ride in a Cadillac- which she hadnt ridden in since she was a teenager 50 years ago, while on this mother-daughter vacation. Matt listened to my concern. He then substituted my original Cadillac rental with a 2018 BMW convertible. Needless to say, thanks to Matt, me and my mom had the most incredible fun in the world driving this convertible all over Rhode Island on our vacation, mostly with the top down. Id never even been in a convertible until this experience. Thank you, Bradley Alamo, for a Totally Awesome car rental experience. I fly into Bradley Field annually, and will forever be loyal to this Alamo, thanks to their over and above customer service- it feels great to be listened to and appreciated as an Alamo Insider. Alamo had the cheapest prices for our trip to Connecticut. I was able to check-in on line and confirm, so I was able to skip the hassle at the counter when we arrived and go directly to the Shuttle, which took us straight to Alamos lot. We were given a choice of 4 different cars, and the service was great. We chose a nice Charger with very low mileage. It was very comfortable. Unfortunately, we left the lot and entered the highway to find that their was a horrific pounding noise that we could feel in our feet. It was pouring rain, past midnight, and we had been traveling all day, so we really didnt want to find an exit to search for a route back to get another car. We continued to our destination and just chose not to use the car. We borrowed my cousins truck instead. The car was very nice besides the noise. I wish Alamo had taken the car for a test drive after being returned by the previous renters. It was frustrating to pay for a car for a full week that we couldnt use. However, I would rent from Alamo again, because their rates and customer service was great. I think I will drive around the parking lot next time before leaving with the car.

I rented my car from Alamo at Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, CT. The service was excellent and prompt. The car that I was given had some problem with the registration, so they offered me free upgrade and I ended up with a fantastic car. Even when I returned the car, I forgot something, and they were extremely nice to let me drive the car out again to retrieve my belonging. I have been renting from Alamo for quite sometimes and will continue to rent from them. Thank you!

I like renting from Alamo because Im usually in and out with no issues or hassles. When I rented this month, I checked in online and skipped the counter. I got off the shuttle, chose a car in my selected class, and drove off within minutes. Same when I returned the car. Took me all of 1 minute. I thought it would take much longer so I had so much extra time at the airport. Overall, I have no complaints with Alamo and I will continue to use them.

I was very happy with the agent who handled me. He made me aware of options that were available at a higher price but he did not try to upsell. Then to my surprise there were no more compacts available so I was upgraded to a mid-size at no extra cost! Very nice experience.

Young lady at the customer service desk was very pleasant but seemed in a hurry to get me out the door. Rushed through everything. Had to ask her to repeat things multiple times. Also the car was nice, but it was a new car and all of the plastic shipping materials and tags on the outside of the doors were still on it. I think that those could have been removed prior to me renting the car. Other than that, it was a good experience. Bringing the car back to the after hours lot was easy. I will use Alamo again in the future.

There was not enough staff working at the counter to help everyone in a timely manner. The woman who helped me was very nice. She pulled the car up to the door and handed me the keys, when I went to start the car I had no idea what to do because it was a keyless start. I had to find someone on the lot show me how to start the car as well as show me how other gadgets in the car worked. It would have been better if someone walked me out to the to show me everything.

I landed in CT late on a Friday, and from the moment I stepped outside the airport terminal, Alamo had me covered. The shuttle was ready to go, and once I told the driver that I still had two hours of driving ahead of me, he left immediately. At the rental lot, the staff was courteous and quick; from arrival at the lot to being on my way took maybe 10 minutes. Returning the car a few days later was easily the smoothest return Ive ever had for a rental car. From beginning to end, it was a great experience, and I wouldnt hesitate for a second to rent from Alamo again.

This was the worst experience at any Alamo that I had!. None of the employees were friendly. Upon returning my car I had a question about my bill being more expensive than the estimated cost so I went inside to get help. The employee was trying talking to me and my father like we was retarded. So I simply told him that this Alamo has the worst customer service I had ever received and I have always had great things to say about is rental company until dealing with this branch. Then he blew up on us and told us to leave the store. He came around the counter huffing and puffing like he was going to fight us and continued to kick us out of the store. Then he pointed his finger up in my fathers face and told him dont come near him. I was embarrassed and humiliated that person would carry on like this in a professional environment. Because of this bad experience I dont want to ever deal with Alamo again! THIS PLACE IS THE WORST

First time renting with the skip the counter check in...but I went to the counter anyway, just to double check which cars I could choose. The counter person came outside with me and pointed out my possible rentals; I just chose the one I wanted, and drove away! Easy! I had to return the car early, and did receive a nice discount.

For the past two decades I have almost exclusively rented with ALAMO. Their rates are consistently lower than any other major car rental company. The service at most of their outlets is almost always fast, efficient and friendly. I often use the Alamo at Bradley Airport in Connecticut and have always experienced great rates and service. And now with being able to pre-register I can skip the desk and go right to my car--seamlessly.

We rent from this Alamo location at least 6 times/year and have consistently received good service and good cars. Our most recent rental was a Dodge van and although it was a new vehicle, it was the bare bones model (didnt even tell you the outside temperature). If there was an input to charge a cell phone we couldnt find it (other than the cigarette lighter). It would have been nice to have a vehicle with a few more options.

I arrived late into Bradley International airport on Wed, October 3rd and proceeded to Alamo where I had a reservation. The process was fine until I tried to leave the parking lot. The line took approximately 20 minutes as there was one woman checking people out. When I finally got to check out, I was told that I could not rent the car I was given because the ignition needed to be worked on. I dont know why they didnt know this inside when it was given to me. I proceeded to get another car and had to wait in the long line again for another 25 minutes to exit. I was told inside that they would send someone out to help, but that didnt happen.On a good note, I left my wallet on this first car, which one of the employees found and searched for me to return it. I am very grateful for that. But it shouldnt take 45 minutes to leave the premises.

Easy to use Kiosk and p/u car. Professional shuttle driver who drove us to and from airline. Was unsure which car we could choose but an attendant was able to help us. Easy to drop off. Everyone was very nice. Very pleased with service.

Quick service at the desk. The rental car that was assigned to me was not cleaned very well. I spoke to the front desk woman and she immediately came out to look at it. She saw it was not that clean and again immediately pulled another car that just was cleaned and washed. Even though they were very busy, I was not delayed and was on my way.

Great experience. Got in late at night and only one clerk on duty. We went to the self service kiosk, put in our reservation number, licenses and credit card. We were on our way in minutes. Easy return as well. Car worked with no problems - best part of a car rental.

I traveled over the busy holiday and expect to wait. I arrived at the airport and waited for 3 shuttles till finally could get in one. That was over an hour.... Was nice to see Hertz used full size buses to assist their renters...I finally arrived at the counter and there was one, yes ONE person staffed!! For the price I paid to rent a car I expect at least some service. Another hour in line!! This was the worst customer experience ever. I work in the travel industry and if I ever staffed that poorly to assist our customers I would rightfully be fired! I had pre registered on line and everything but that means nothing to the customer only to the company so that they know how many cars will actually be picked up. The manager was going to contact me I was told but of course heard nothing...I rent alot from Alamo but no longer.

I’ve been an Alamo client for more than thirty years. Except for one rental years ago I have always had good experiences and excellent service.The only thing I find annoying is agents often try to upsell me into more expensive vehicles. I realize they are only doing their jobs but it is still irritating. It will not stop me from continuing to do business with Alamo.

It was a pleasure to do business with the Alamo agent at Bradley field. I was able to upgrade to accommodate my mother and additional luggage. I had a flight cancel on my return trip but was able to secure another rental car at a very reasonable rate. So all in all it was a great experience and would recommend Alamo to my friends

I reserved online and walked right up to the kiosk ahead of 25 people. The key is to prepay. You get the best price and quickest service. BUT, check your receipt when you return. They overcharged due to arrival and return times. The guy at the counter was super and fixed it right away. Check in people dont know about rates. The charge went from $699 to $189 when the counter rep fixed it. Great service in that regard.Remember to prepay online!!

Reserved a Tahoe about a month in advance but it was not ready when we arrived. We waited about a half hour and when we got the truck it was not cleaned. The outside was filthy with bird poo and bug splatter all over the windshield. The inside was equally filthy. It literally had garbage left from the previous renter as well as a toe nail clipper! There was sticky coffee spills all over and stains everywhere. This was not a cheap rental (Over $400). We had to leave to be somewhere but told the front gate we wanted another vehicle brought to our nearby hotel. They did that but believe it or not while the truck replacement was marginally cleaner we were shocked to find that vehicle was not vacuumed (at least not well) and a bonus half eaten Cheetos bag and a bottle of iced tea. You would think they might have been a bit more focused on ensuring the vehicle was clean this time. WOW - you just cant make this stuff up!

The service at this Alamo location was great, the representatives were friendly and helpful, as was the shuttle driver. The car that I rented, however, was not very clean and the hood was not latched down properly when I drove off the lot. It wasnt until I got on the freeway that it became evident that the hood was loose. I had to pull over on a busy and dangerous freeway to secure it properly. These are quality control issues that I hope this location will address. Otherwise, the rental was great.

Good: Shuttle from Terminal very fast. The car just had around 1000 miles. Generally, their cars are in very good condition.not good: RC-Agent tried everything to convince me to choose Extended Protection which is sometimes helpful, but NOT mandatory/required.Also messed up to provide the EZ Pass Transponder so we had to pass by again next day.

Rented a car from Alamo, their Staff friendly and professional, prices reasonable . I was able to pick my minivan it was clean and ran great. Customer service was great. The entire process from start to finish was great.
