I would have given them 5 stars because they are very helpful.Sadly though, this store (along with many other Pep Boys stores) are closing for good. 😒On the other hand, they are selling off the current stock at VERY good prices.UPDATE: I CHANGED MY REVIEW FROM 3 STARS TO 5. (The only reason it was 3 is BECAUSE IT IS CLOSING.)But their RAPID RESPONSE to my experience only shows just how good the Pep Boys stores are!!!But again, just wish this store wasnt closing. 😒

Scheduled an appointment for 9:00am online and received confirmation for a Virginia State Inspection (14 Aug 2021). Drove 3 hours from Pittsburgh only to find that β€œstate law doesn’t require them to do inspections on Saturday”. I was then told I could wait 8 hours until their other customers were serviced and they would get me in.I realize inspections may not be as profitable as other services. But why not update the online reservation to prevent wasting customer time??? I drove 6 hours and 400+ miles for nothing. Very dissatisfied.The service manager that I spoke to was as courteous as he could be, and was likely only following orders from above. But he was firm in stating that my inspection was not a priority.

I had a nail in my tire and asked if it could be fixed. The gentleman (Jason)said it could not be fixed. So I purchased 2 tires, told him I had to be somewhere soon. How long would it take. He said about 45 minutes. So I did wait and 45 minutes later, the job was done. He was very kind and helpful. This was my first time there and I will go there again. I highly recommend them.

Trying to get a battery warrantied that wont take a charge any longer while my vehicle is running for over 15 minutes but still has to be checked. Not rocket science. Come to find out they are not Pep Boys anymore but Auto Plus. Had to wait for Gill from service which is still actually PepBoys who was very helpful and knowledgeable. Service Center 5 stars like always. Andrew and Justin from Parts Plus have no customer service blaming issues on past managers which is not my concern. Willie is always polite and helpful.

I was shocked and disappointed by my experience at Pep Boys. I made an appointment to have my brakes and rotors replaced and asked them to look into the battery light while it was there. Later, they called me and said it would be $750 to fix everything wrong with the car: new brakes, new rotors, new battery, new spark plugs, new tires. The battery, spark plugs, and tires had all been replaced last year, so I asked him to please just replace the brakes and rotors. When I returned to pick up the car, I was charged $550. The good news: Apparently you can have your battery, spark plugs, and tires replaced for $200. The bad news: Pep Boys cost $260 more than the dealership for a simple brake job. I am appalled. I will never be back to Pep Boys.

My son made an appointment for his truck at 10 am. He was sitting there for 7 hours before they even started on the truck and then the part he brought for the truck they said it was wrong and had to order a new piece. He started down the road and not even 8 miles he was broken down on the side of the road the u joint fell out that they fixed. I drove back up there and they where closed after telling me that they where open until 8 pm. Now we have to call a tow truck and have to pay for it and now they can’t fix what they messed up tonight and have to wait till tomorrow and we are supposed to leave on a major trip that we can’t be late for 3 hours away. When I went back Jason came out and said that he did not have the phone number to get in touch with the other manger which I think is a complete lie because everyone should has there mangers number. They said could not, would not, and absolutely couldn’t fix it. thank God we did not have there baby on board

Avoid this place if at all possible... I went in for an oil change and asked if he could check one tire and add air.They tried to scare me in to purchasing 4 brand new tires by saying there was an unrepairable puncture in one of my tires.I knew something was wrong with the one tire hence why I asked to have it looked at, but not all 4. They were practically new and had way less miles than the manufacturer warranty that they came with (85k). I know how places like to take advantage when a female comes in by herself so, I declined getting the new tires. Had a family member check it out. Turned out the unrepairable puncture was a small nail in the middle of the tire where it was absolutely okay to patch.

This review is overdue but let me tell you I only trust my car with pep boys. They are corporate so they have a baseline customer service and performance duty they swear by and believe me it is much appreciated. One time I brought in my old jeep for a brake job. The bolts were so rusted that they broke off the main thing fixed to the unit. Since it was just a bad even that was no ones fault, they replaced the whole assembly at no additional cost to me. In fact they didnt even charge me for the brake job. God bless these guys. Thank you for the amazing customer service. I dont live near this location anymore but if I did id only trust this place with my car. They have very fair prices and pay great attention to detail.

Arrived at this shop at 7:30 am opening for auto inspection, was told that it would be a 2 to 3 hour wait, even though it appeared I was the first to arrive, then had to wait in a very dirty, customer unfriendly waiting room. After an hour I received a message that my inspection was complete and ready for review, only to learn that no technician had even been assigned to make the inspection, probably another hour or two. Service at this store has really declined. I have been a regular customer, but I won’t be any more.

I unfortunately had to stop at this pep boys because I had a flat tire on my way back from a trip to Maryland(Im from NC), I came in at 10 minutes til they closed and they had me and my children fixed up withing 20 minutes, the guys were kind and thoughtful. Parts seem to be much cheaper and better than those other large part store chains. The on issues I have with them are:1) I call to check if they had a part, and I was told yes. When I got there they said they didnt have it. After driving for 30 minutes one way to get a part you verified you expect it to be there. They said the computer shows the part there but it actually not there. They continue to explain that the person who put me on hold to verify the part was there, must not have verified it.2) plain and simple just wish there was a store closer to me. Somewhere in Jefferson or Berkeley county WV.

Believe what you’ve read from others!! Order something online and they will find a way to completely hose it up! Ordered 2 items online, I was able to pay online for one but not the other.?? One order went to service and they couldn’t figure out what to do with it. Finally got one of the two items and the online order I did meant nothing. They tried charging a different price as well. Don’t do it. Buy elsewhere! They did follow up with an email, acting like they actually care. There is nothing that Pep Boys could possibly do to change this review, I’m just calling a dog a dog...

If I could give 10 stars I would. I bought wheels and tires from the manassas store and they did a horrible job and didn’t want to fix their mess up. I went and talked to Gil (Manager) and Edward (Technician) and they were able to take care of my issue. If your looking for β€œGREAT SERVICE” for your vehicle this is the spot. Not sure what booking an appointment did. Got there for a state inspection at scheduled time. Employee said it would be 4 hours. I said Ill run a couple places and come back in about an hour he said youll be put at the back of the line if you leave. I said cancel appointment and then got an email saying how I couldnt make the appointment. Dont have a web site booking appointments if its first come first serve.

I recently needed to purchase tires for a Sienna van and found the tires that I chose at Pep Boys in Winchester. I spoke with Carlos and set the appointment with zero concerns. The tires were installed quickly and I was so impressed with the customer service that I asked for a quote for a set tires for my F150. A week later and I am now equally impressed with that experience as well. There are many places to purchase tires in the Winchester market but I feel that the prices were right, the service was fantastic and most importantly, this particular shop has Carlos, which I personally feel was the reason I had such a positive experience. I have used this PepBoys several times and while it always hurts to shell out money for car repairs, I wont go anywhere else. Carlos and Gill are the BEST. This time they managed to look at my car the same day I brought it in.They are always fast, fair and very knowledgable. I called to schedule an appointment for an oil change as I have numerous times at this location. However today when I asked to schedule, the man on the phone said I mean you can but its irrelevant. When I asked how long the wait time GENERALLY is he stated, I cant predict the future. I asked to schedule an appointment anyway and he again stated, Like I said it doesnt mean were going to get you in at that time. Friday night 6 p. Nail in tire. I could hear it and saw it. It’s A little rainy outside and getting colder. So I Stopped by a known tire store (3 letter name) that β€œclaimed” they were open until 7. After waiting they said β€œcan you come in the morning)β€œ we don’t have anyone that can work on it now. Come on maaaan! My daughter recently took her car here because she was having issues with her front tires losing air and also needed an inspection. PEP Boys said nothing was wrong with her tires and the car passed inspection. However, a few days later, her tires were still leaking air and so we went to Tire Outfitters and they saw major problems with the tires and said that shes lucky they didnt blow out.

I never write reviews, so you know it’s bad when I do. I scheduled an appointment for my inspection, and when I showed up they said they couldn’t do it that they already did the amount they could for the day. Why have appointments available when you can’t even do it? I walked out and one of the men at the front desk walked out after me, and said that he could get it done for me. They ended up failing me for my rear breaks. I than took my car to my neighbors house who is a mechanic, to check it out and see if they were right about it. Well they weren’t. He said it was almost β€œcriminal” that they failed me for my rear breaks. On the other hand I should have been failed for my front breaks. my front break pads were almost metal on metal. Which clearly is not good, and no one decided to mention that to me. They clearly do not care about safety and just want your money!!! If I could give zero stars I would. Never going back here again.

I revolved my schedule around a phone call with one of their employees stating that they were open till 6 for state inspections, that they do not take reservations, and that they could DEFINITELY fit me in if we are there before 5pm. Pep boys reviewI had an unfortunate experience with the frustration of trying to return an online battery order. This is not the first time I’ve had some challenge with returns at pep boys, they usually need the card you purchased the goods on, in addition to the receipt.This time it was an online order and I didn’t have a paper receipt I had the email β€œreceipt.” Justin was the employee helping me. Because of the user interface they use this was near impossible. Another employee joined to offer suggestions. They spent 15-20 minutes, then when they finally found a work around they realized I picked up the battery from the service side (even though I bought it online) and they couldn’t do the return there. Apparently they split the retail and service depts into two unrelated entities.Unfortunately I’d already been to the service side to attempt to recycle 2 jugs of oil where I was kurtly, but without malice, told I could only turn in 1, and none tonight as the guy was understaffed and getting killed and didn’t have time to process the oil form. To his credit he did look like he was buried in tasks, and hustling from each one to the next.I informed the employees helping me with some displeasure at my concern that the other employee already seemed overwhelmed and frustrated so Justin took my info and went to the service side to attempt to return it for me out of his dept. No dice though. I have to go to the service side, and I can tell the last thing the employee wants is to do the return, but to his credit he’s willing to try and even humors me by searching by order # and my phone number at my request when I don’t have a paper receipt for him. Graciously Justin came over and offered to take over to help the drowning employee, even though the two depts aren’t related anymore by continuing to fight the return software.. I’m certain he was hacking the pentagon firewall to process it as many keys as I saw him hit. He tried for another 15 or so minutes, however my wife who had been waiting patiently in the car pulled the plug as it had been 40-50 minutes, and small children were screaming at her.Still didn’t return the online order.Fortunately James in service took pity and told me to leave the oil on the way out and he would personally take care of it, which took some of the sting out of the wound of pissing my wife off, missing a play date at the park, and now lugging a 70 lb battery back home that will remain on my to do list.Hats off to Justin for above and beyond, continued professionalism, and no quit attitude. You’ve got a valuable employee there pep Boys.Online returns should be able to be done by email receipt, the card should not be needed, and your depts should be able to work better together pep boys. This was an isolated difficult experience, taking them down a star to 4 over all... they’d been sitting at 5 overall on many occasions. May look online for my next parts order.

Store manager Gil is the best! He is Helpful and thorough. I had a big repair bill here when my muffler flange ball joint battery went out on me. My bill was large but reasonable and he threw in a free headlight and blinker fluid fill up which he obviously did not have to do. He also gave me a coupon for free heater air recharge on my next purchase of tire tread replacements. I will be back! Gil, THANK YOU!

The customer service here is above and beyond all other auto service centers Ive found here in the Winchester area. Not only did they take my truck back as soon as i arrived for a new battery, but the employee by the name of Gil honored the online discount and didnt charge me for new terminals. They went out of their way, in my opinion, to make it the best experience Ive had here on service work. All of the employees I interacted with were very polite, professional, and in great positive moods as well which is very rare these days! You can get coupons from their app for service and parts discounts. They have a rewards card which gives you rebates after you reach your reward limited. Sometimes Im in there for hours waiting on my vehicle and once I was given a customer satisfaction for having to wait for so long because the mechanic had my car and nothing was being done to it, which meant my entire service was free. Theyre better than most repair shops around town as far as Im concerned.

Wanted to update me previous review to be fair. Since my incident regarding a battery warranty on my visit to Pep Boys last Saturday I have since been contacted by Brandon and Gil at this location. Both of which took good care of me and listened to my issues. After proof of receipts that I thankfully still had I went in the store today to speak with Brandon and Gil and I came home with the replacement batteries that I went in for last Saturday which was a horrible experience. Thankfully Brandon, Gil, and Justin made my experience much more pleasant. I’m still not comfortable with going into the location when a specific employee is working but I’m happy with how my situation has been addressed by people who actually seem to care. Justin was kind enough to take my batteries out to my vehicle for me and I greatly appreciate his help in this matter. He showed nothing but kindness even on my visit there this past Saturday, when he was trying his best to handle the warranty process on my batteries but couldn’t help since the guy above him wouldn’t let him replace them for me and with no explanation at all. Poor Justin was in the middle since his hands were tied by this other employee. Hated seeing that since he was trying to be helpful and informative while not stepping on toes of this other employee who told him what to do. Just wanted to share my recent experience and thank those three gentleman who stepped up and took are of me and honored their warranty in the proper manner.

Been dealing with Pepboys in Winchester for years! Have never been dissatisfied! I have dealt with every department in the store! Gil made sure I received exceptional service when I came in to have new wheels put on, and Matt is extremely knowledgeable and efficient when getting me my parts. I must say, those two men are who I prefer to talk to when calling in because I know I’m getting all the accurate information I may be needing, regarding any particular vehicle, when talking to them.

I had visited this Pep Boys roughly 6 months ago when I was shopping quotes for 4 new tires. A gentleman named Gil took a look at my car and gave me honest feedback that my tires still had some life in them and to come back this winter. So I did. And the craziest part is he knew exactly who I was and remembered our meeting the summer before. I was floored. I’ve worked in sales for years and he made me feel like more than a customer. What a wonderful skill to have. He gave me a great deal on my new tires that look and drive great, and even looked at some minor body work for me during the service. As a struggling student and waitress big purchases are something I dread but I will never hesitate to return to this Pep Boys. Thank you Gil and your team.

Made an appointment online, they called to tell me they can’t take appointments late in the day for my problem (AC). Made another appointment for first thing in the morning & showed up on time and was told they don’t honor online appointments and that I’d have to wait all day for someone to look at it. Said no thanks, took it to a local mom and pop, they had me diagnosed & out in an hour. Stay away from this corporate clusterfoop until they get their act together.

James was a super individual. He had a quick wit and an infectious smile. And very kind eyes. I was greeted at the counter immediately and barely had time to find a seat after they took my car into the garage. They put the car on the rack, they showed me what was wrong, they fixed it before I had got back from the restroom, and got me on my way with a smile. I cant recommend this team highly enough. As a visitor from out of town, it is a refreshing reminder of what customer service should be.

Overall a very pleasant experience. Very professional staff. Got it done fairly quick with no appointment. Boy they sure have a lot of bays (must be 5 I think). What a huge place too. Lots of stuff you can buy like an auto parts store in case you want to work on your car yourself at home. Update - went there for tires - bit more expensive than Walmart but overall still satisfied as better quality tires on hand there and able to do good front end align which needed. As is daughters car probably important to do good tires as younger drive faster. and will last longer. (kid and tires)

A little more pricey than other part stores, but customer service is top quality! Havent used the service department; only parts. And if I can I will pay the higher price on parts for the service.Also if my wife ever needs to grab something that I cant; shell go there because they are helpful in the fact she doesnt know what shes getting.
