The outside could definitely use a wrap used to protect the members and equipment. The equipment outside is much better then anything inside. It would benefit the members moving it inside and putting some of the low grade machines outside. Just suggestions πŸ€”. God bless

One Life Fitness is the first gym I purchased a membership for and I am so happy I did! While the gym can be crowded at peak times, there is still plenty of room to workout and plenty of equipment to use. I take the spin class and I also do a few of the Les Mill’s classes. All of the instructors are amazing! They are so fun and upbeat. The gym is always clean and there are a ton of amenities like the sauna, hydro massage, and use of the pool.My boys love the basketball court and my daughter loves the kids club! For the price, it’s well worth it! I love it and will be a member for a long time!

This is a brand new home for OneLife fitness. The new facility is very nice, with lots of different equipment, and high tech bells and whistles. There is a large swimming pool, and a big screen cinema theater where you can use bikes, ellipticals or treadmills while you watch a movie. It is a really big, which is good because they just bought Body Renews memberships (the other big gym in Winchester, who just closed down). It gets very busy in high use hours. From 4 to 7 pm you may have trouble getting your favorite equipment. Hence only 4 stars. I havent tried before work or lunch times.

So apparently this franchise bought Golds gym of Winchester! When? No idea! I used to be a member of Golds Gym for years and during the pandemic of last year I stopped going for awhile until I decided to return back to find out the place by Food Max is shut down and no longer there !!! I never received a notice or any kind of notification other than my credit card been charged every month ! So I make a phone call to find out that OneLife fitness bought Golds gym with its all memberships !!! to make the story short I decided to cancel my membership because the new place is no longer convenient to me. I was told to email membership services and they will get back to me. a couple of days later I got an email from Deanna saying my membership has been canceled but I will still be charged for one more month because its the hidden policy !! I call again to get some more info about that and a lady named Jessica picks up and once I mentioned I canceled my membership and why am I being charged for a whole new month, she cuts me off saying its in your contract and hung up !!!! believe it or not this is exactly what happened. Very rude and disrespectful staff and management.

Charge you for Club improvement fees but have yet to see any improvements done in 9 months. For the amount of people who use this gym during peek times you would expect this to be more squared away. They are making money for sure just not investing it back into the gym which is sad as it has great floor space. You guys bought out multiple other gyms and consolidated down to one facility... the gym is clean and large but you’ve focused too heavily on cardio when you took over and shut down two primarily-weightlifting gyms, each with multiple locations (Body Renew and Gold’s) and that’s not what the majority of the long-term members are looking for. Spend a little time in there (this is both pre-COVID and currently the status in January 2021 with the influx of members due to the New Year) and you’ll notice there are LINES for the machines and weights and most of us can’t plan out a workout, but we’re forced to just use whatever machine is open if we don’t want to stand around and wait.Get rid of some of these bikes and treadmills in the middle and put in another row of weights or squat racks, leg presses, or ab machines (there are SO few ab-related machines now). Give us back our large selection of mats and free weights we can pick up and take to an open section of floor space when it’s too busy to get a machine.Consider your base customer desires from all of the gyms you shut down and maybe you’d get us to recommend your facility instead of telling people it’s too crowded and almost impossible to get the desired workout in.

Im going with 3 stars right now. I actually like the facility and equipment, but overcrowding is a big issue. You really have to pick your times to be in there. I know thats not an option for most people and not normally for me. I was off work with a injury so I could alter my times. I have not been in there after 4 pm. I have totally avoided that time because Ive heard its crazy crowded. I saw in other reviews that cleanliness was mentioned. I have to agree that they are lacking in this area. I have only seen one person one time doing any cleaning. The mens bathrooms have been out of toilet paper I dont know how many times. I feel they should have full time custodial staff constantly cleaning, wiping down machines, etc. Like most people said, its almost the only game in town, so you live with it or move on I guess.I try to be honest and truthful on my Google reviews, and Ive written quite a few reviews on various places. I feel people do their research nowadays on all different types of services. I do find it strange that the management only seem to reply to the 5 star reviews???

Today I went to One Life Fitness in Winchester, Virginia.I am a teacher and a mom. My husband works 12 hour shifts and I work an hour away from where I live. Because of this my child is in daycare 10 hour days. I am unable to get a membership year round because having my child be in daycare 12 hours a day and then go straight to sleep isn’t an option I feel is right. As a teacher, I am off in the summers. I am fine with my child being in daycare 1-2 hours a day. I was wanting a summer only membership because that is the only time I can be a member of a gym.I did my one day pass today at One Life. I filled out the form and once I hit submit it said β€œTime for your tour.” The man who talked to me started talking about memberships and I went straight into the fact that I am looking for a summer membership. I explained the reasoning behind it. He said if I was a college student I could. Why are you inclusive to college students but not teachers or people in my situation? I work really hard year round and do majority of the work in the home and with my child because my husband is a shift worker. I don’t understand why I can’t join your gym for just the summer but a college student can. After I explained my situation to the man, he was basically done with me. He didn’t give me a tour. He basically dismissed me and said something to the nature of β€œI don’t know your life.” Then he said β€œyou’re good for today.” And then he kind of waved me off.It was so uncomfortable. What makes me the most upset isn’t that I can’t join but how I was treated. I was treated like I wasn’t important because I value my child being with a parent the 2 of his awake hours that I am off work. I wasn’t treated like a person, just a dollar sign.

When I signed up the gym was at the old location on Berryville pike. It was older and you could tell the equipment was β€œholding together” until they got the new club up and running but ultimately I loved it. I felt like I was at a gym and I never had to wait for any equipment even during peak hours. The new location opens up and it is the complete opposite. The equipment is state of the art and the facilities are nicer but working out is no longer as satisfying. What was a gym now feels like a social club. Way too many kids running around unsupervised, jumping in and out of the pool (is this a gym where people can swim laps or a town pool) and in the fitness areas taking up limited space. You can tell the gym is in fact two different gyms that are now crammed into one. I can’t even find a freaking parking space regardless of when I go and when I asked one of the staff why the lot was so packed when it didn’t even look that packed in the gym (for once) I got a snappy answer about classes. When it comes to space and equipment, good luck getting a quality workout in, you will have to wait for equipment that are over populated or being hoarded by inconsiderate gym goers. Really disappointed by the atmosphere at the new location and the lack of the staff to step up and make this an actual gym not a family outing destination. (Just FYI I have two small children so it’s not like I am Intolerant of children, I just want to belong to a gym, not a social club with gym equipment)

I’ve had to wait in line for machines, and I’ve seen people fight over β€œwho was there firstβ€œ. They also need more variety in machines. But the main thing that really upset me, is the lack of guidelines and rules for the pool and sauna. Kids will be swimming in the pool while people are trying to do laps - there are appropriate times for open swim and rules need to be followed. And lastly, staff really needs to mandate appropriate attire for both areas, ESPECIALLY with the sauna being a group sauna. I feel like privacy is not being protected in this big gym and I hope that changes.

As others have pointed out, the gym is very overcrowded, especially the weight lifting area. Six benches for a 60,000 square foot facility with this many members is inadequate. There’s always a wait. In addition, although details are not yet clear, the word is they’re not going to honor the paid up contracts of Body Renew members. This gym bought out every single gym in my area including a Golds Gym that conforms to bodybuilders. They then closed all these locations and opened one big new one with promises that the new facility would have enough room and equipment to satisfy everyone from all 3 locations and retain/improve upon the quality these other locations provided. As well as the same membership prices and features at no additional cost besides base membership. What we got instead is a massive cardio section that takes up the majority of the gym, a lifting area that does not have enough equipment and is impossible to workout in during all hours of operation (everything is always being used and impossible to get onto to have a good workout, there are often 10-20 min waits to get onto anything), and a higher monthly membership fee at 28.99 that does not include the same services as the previous locations such as free towels (which is an extra 10 dollars a month), and clueless staff that lied about what would be at this new gym. During the transfer from golds to onelife they terminated my account and i had to pay a 100$ sign up fee plus the first month of 28.99$ to have a membership even though I was told it would be unaffected. There are only 2 water fountains in the entire building which is massive and there is always a line to get a sip of water. The new gym has not even been open for two weeks and their pool, spa area, and sauna are already out of order until further notice as stated by them. They have also asked transferring members that wear stringer tank tops when they lift (who are competing bodybuilders) that they have to leave and cannot wear what they please as they lift at a gym they pay for even though their wardrobe violates no conditions. The parking is also extremely atrocious, where sometimes members have to park behind the building or even across the street at another retail business just to have a place to park and then walk to the gym. This is the worst Gym ive ever used and it needs to change.

OK honey have a..., too late, shes already run off to play basketball and climb in the tunnels (not gonna lie, slightly jealous). Head on in to check the place out. How do you write the sound of angels singing? Cause Im pretty sure thats what I heard. 6 squat racks! Room, space, light and every bar youd want! Even the cardio area is not crowded. Only once did I have to wait, and that was for a machine my wife and I were sharing. The studios are huge, kinda makes me want to try a yoga class (Im pretty sure I sprained something even thinking about that). My only request is that they add some big boy dumbels, 100-130 would be nice! I applaud yall for creating a functional, nice gym. Our experience with Golds Gym has been horrible. We terminated our membership with the gym because our two children were being bullied by older children in the child care area. They would sob if we even mentioned going to the gym. For years we had lived in an area that had a YMCA, we did not experience a bullying problem there, we had been members for 4 years. We had went in to Golds Gym, told them about the bullying, and canceled our membership. Then three months after we had canceled our membership, we were charged out of the blue by Golds Gym. We had terminated our membership months ago. When I complained about the bullying problem and now the membership charges, when we had terminated our membership, I was told by an employee,You know kids will be picked on any where. My children go to preschool and public school and Golds Gym was our first encounter with bullying. My son was slammed in the face with balls by older boys. When he would cry they would create a circle around him and call him names. My daughter told the boys to stop picking on her brother and they then bullied her. This happened several times, two weeks into our membership it started. We stopped going to the gym because of this. I am especially saddened by this Golds Gym employee, who didnt even take the bullying issue seriously. Both of my children were standing with me when he said, Well kids will get picked on anywhere. Horrible, horrible experience. I will definitely be trying Body Renew Fitness and asking their childcare center how they feel about bullying. I am left feeling very disappointed in Golds Gym.

Lots of equipment. Open 24 hours. Upkeep / maitnance could step it up a little. For example keeping paper towels stocked and restrooms clean. Other than that, a great gym!

It seems that OneLife came in and bought out the Golds location, raised all the prices on everything, fired a bunch of the long time guys working there to bring in their own people, theres still 4 or 5 machines out of order at any given time on top of multiple dumbbells now and the place is still filthy. It seems OneLife came in and just robbed a bunch of peoe of money with the promising of bigger and better things but its been months still with nothing and the place actually is worse because now they shut down for being understaffed. All the REAL 1 star reviews are members who have actually been going to golds for years and spot the uptight, upcharge. All the 5 star reviews are people that work there and they were probably told, do this or well fire you

Cant say much about since they have been bought out but when it was Golds it was horrible. Broke equipment, nothing to clean the equipment with. Broken showers, and just a horrible trashy gym all around. They seem to be improving but thats probably from new ownership. Worst golds Ive ever been to.
