I enjoy living here. The apartments are nice and are super close to campus. We’ve had a few problems with things breaking but the maintenance team has been really good about our request. Rodney was very quick to respond to our maintenance request and fixed our laundry door, blinds, and shower right after putting in the request. Great location to live if you are a college student!
I have loved living here. The facilities are well-kept, and the staff is friendly. They are always willing to help. The convenience to campus and other complexes is also a huge plus.
Ive had no issues with the staff here at all! They are all helpful and the clubhouse is nice! Id like to give Grace at the front desk a shout-out as she has been super helpful and kind to me during my time living here. The property is clean and close to everything. Id definitely say Grace is an asset to the team there. Overall Id recommend this place for sure.
Awesome community with tons to do! The staff is super helpful and friendly! 10/10 would recommend
If you are looking for an apartment in the area this is the place to go! While visiting the community Kaleb and his team were amazing and very welcoming! I cannot wait to move in!
$800 a month is not really worth it for the “amenities” that are supposedly offered for the entirety of the lease. The one benefit is the complex being right across the street from campus. Throughout my time there, the pool/hot tub and other amenities were closed for pretty much no reason.
I absolutely love being a resident here! The amenities are top of the line!
Clean facility. Amenities are a plus. Chill atmosphere.
Beautiful property and so excited to use the amenities! The new property manager is a plus to the community… I mean sheesshh!
The maintenance guy here, Rod is really awesome I have noticed how much better the grounds look and he is very knowledgeable and helpful. Great job keep it up.
TLDR: You dont get what youre paying for. You get a cool keychain in exchange for trauma. Not worth it.Pros of LH:- Its a block away from campus and about two/three from the library- Pretty good amenities (check out the movie theater in the club house!)- The furniture in the units is being updated- All furniture is pretty sturdy and utilizes the space well- Theres an in-unit washer/dryer- Its not directly on a busy street so it feels more private/cozy- Pet friendly- Dog bag stations- Swag always available in clubhouse- Nice staff thats attentive to EMERGENCIESCons of LH:- Roach central. All sizes, shapes, and colors. I moved into a unit that was INFESTED with them. They were in the common area, kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom. (For context, Im a neat freak that was frequently spraying heavy duty roach killer, inside and outside. I had the professional company LH uses spray in my unit at least twice as well. And it still wasnt enough.) While the staff did hurry to move me into a new unit, it should never have happened.- Trash is consistently overflowing from dumpsters and garbage cans around the property.- Noise. The neighbors frequently party and fight loudly.- Poor maintenance. They only take care of reported issues and even so, it can take weeks for the problem to be resolved.- The mailbox locks frequently break. Idk why.- OVER CHARGING. Duke energy charged me and my roommate $100-200/month. (I suspect we were getting billed for everything around the complex, like the lights in the parking lot.)- OVER CHARGING PART II. I moved in during fall 2020 and, despite amenities like the pool being closed, I was still being charged the same rate.- Parking. There is not nearly enough guest parking and Earls Wrecker Service 🤮 WILL take a car that doesnt have a sticker (ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT!) If you have a rental car or guests staying the night, plan ahead if you can. Get guest parking passes from the front office before it closes. Also, do NOT park near sewers or the ponds as the roaches like to come in and out of them.
Amazing place! Management and on site team are the best out there! If you have any questions they will do everything they can to help you out. The apartments are amazing and I’ve met some awesome people living here!
I’m new to the area and this property is far above what my expectation was. I didn’t think it could surpass my impression of the breathtaking beach! I simply CANNOT wait to spend an autumn night by their fire pit. Also, I got to meet their GM Austin and he is a phenomenal manager and I feel comfortable to go to him about my issues. If you’re looking for a place to live, this place is it. The most remarkable student housing I’ve had the pleasure of touring and signing with.
This is a great apartment complex. Super nice and convenient for students in Wilmington. It is a lot nicer than other options. I’d talk to Haley again. She’s really helpful and nice!
I could not speak more highly of the Lighthouse staff. They were extremely helpful and informative, especially Hayley. She has made my experience here at Lighthouse amazing. Thanks for all your help.
This place is awesome I moved here from New England at the end of the summer and this place has allowed me to transition into life here in NC very smoothly. They have an amazing staff Alassane has saved my life on multiple occasions and deserves a raise. The entire place has a real college atmosphere and I have also met great friends here so if you’re looking for an apartment look no further.
The reason I like this property is for the outstanding customer service and amenities. The office staff is always helpful and informed and I love the free snacks!!! Haley is awesome!!! I recommend moving here to all my friends.
I reached out to the office about a situation that occurred. They went over and beyond to ensure that I felt safe. Austin, Adrian, and Alassane provided amazing customer service and have been here for me every step of the way. I left the office feeling like they truly cared about their residents!
The amenities are great and always clean. The staff is friendly and quick to assist with problems and they have great events involving free food all the time! I love their give aways also.
I love the location ! The staff is super friendly and welcoming. I had a great experience with Haley, she was super polite and was able to answer all my questions.
Loved living here, great amenities, and I made some amazing friends! Alassane was always so helpful and professional! 100% recommend
Love the staff and team here! Everyone was so friendly and the new manager Austin made sure I was in good hands. I signed my lease and I can’t wait to move in!
The Lighthouse staff is incredible. Haley Settersten is so professional and beyond helpful. Overall 10/10 for customer service. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
Lighthouse is always clean and above my expectations. The lighthouse staff, specifically Haley is always very helpful and nice
Would be nice if the hot tub was open later! Very disappointed!
Loved living at lighthouse, Tori and Haley were always there to help when I needed it.
Terrible. There are bugs everywhere. Trash is piling up with old furniture. Our apartment has needed it’s AC fixed for weeks and no one has come. The amenities are closed due to managements negligence. Don’t live here.
I love living here! David, Tyler and Grace are super friendly and they have food and events pretty regularly for the residents. I haven’t met someone that works here that isn’t awesome honestly. I highly recommend living here if you’re a student!
Convenient location, well-maintained. Great place to live!
Really nice place for students to live! Haley is great :)
Haley was top notch. Very professional and very helpful.
Tori and the Lighthouse Team are the best! Weve had the pleasure of working with them for 4 years now and would highly recommend living there! Not only is the location ideal but the amenities are top notch.
I loved living at lighthouse! Tori and the staff are always helpful and accommodating, and they throw the best community events. The apartments are clean and comfortable, and the location is great. 10/10 would recommend
Staff is very friendly and always helping residents out when they can. Free food fridays have saved me money! The office staff is responsive to any issues that may happen and make sure a solution is found as quickly as possible.
Haley wuz very helpful. 10/10 would review again.
Lighthouse Apartments is in the perfect location and conveniently only a 5 minuets bike ride away from my classes. The front desk staff are friendly and there is always something happening at the club house. The gym is the perfect size for someone who doesn’t like going to the gym. The pool is also open year round; the hot tub is great! They also have a fire pit, movie room, study room and the free printing is a plus! The apartment is the perfect size, and I really love the balcony.
Clean, great location, and nice amenities! Haley rocks!
First of all, they try to lure you in with what they claim to be luxury student living. It looks nice from the outside but its an actual garbage dump after a month or so as dumb college students leave trash, beer cans, vomit, and urine all over the place. Have friends? Lighthouse thinks not. There are literally only 10 or so visitor parking spots so if you have any friends who want to come over, they have to come hours before towing is enforced or theyll have to park in the shopping center across the street. The walls and ceilings are paper thin so noise travels very easily through them and is very annoying when youre just trying to live. Sometimes lighthouse will throw outrageous and loud parties with no warning and there is nothing you can do about it. Staff will constantly come into your apartment for checkups and such, which is fine on its own, but they give week long periods where your animals must be crated during working hours. How do you expect me to have my cats locked up in a box for 10 hours a day while Im at work? Would give 0 stars if possible. The only benefit of living here is the proximity to campus. I cant wait to move out.
Nice apartments. Employee Grace helped me with everything. She answered all my questions and was a great help.
I had such a great experience here and I haven’t even moved in yet. I walked in to get a tour of the spaces and the environments surrounding. The front desk receptionist, Grace, was so informative and honest when I asked questions. Hopefully this will be my forever home!
Very nice! Grace gave a great tour and was very informative. We loved the game room :)
Grace was a wonderful tour guide, and the lobby and rooms are wonderful!! The pool area looks very inviting. Wonderful place!
Love living here, the staff is always so helpful. Grace specifically is always there and available to answers questions. Super fun environment.
Amazing apartments with great customer service. Tori is always more than willing to answer any questions that I have. When it comes to throwing events for the complex I have no complaints as they always take into account what type of events the students are wanting. The facilities are kept clean and it’s right down the road from campus which is a plus. Highly recommend.
Just met a delightful young women in the lighthouse reception area. She welcome us and my friends as we arrived to visit my daughter. My daughter a UNCW student has been living in the accommodation for the last four months and thoroughly enjoys it here.
Good apartments, efficient and professional staff. Great amenities. David at the office is always ready to help!
Ive never had a bad experience at this place. Always great customer service, especially from Tori. She is always there to answer your questions or deal with issues when they arise. I highly recommend living here!
I loved this place. It was so nice and Grace was a great tour guide! I cant wait to make this my home!
I just started living at lighthouse in January, and it’s probably one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. One of the greatest things about lighthouse is the management team, they are always there to assist you . For Example, one time I called lighthouse because the grill by the pool wasn’t working, Cole came out and fixed the grill for me so I can make my wings!! Cole is a wizard at what he does and his work shouldn’t be under appreciated!!
Tori has been amazing at helping me! Loved my time at lighthouse. Property is just what any college student could want!
That girl Grace gave me some of the best customer service Ive ever had in any industry I definitely recommend her if anyone pops in ask for her she will help take care of you in a welcoming warm manner
Wonderful place with friendly staff!
Great Staff and Maintenance team. Just moved in and they couldnt be more helpful. Quiet community but a community nonetheless. There are often various and gatherings to meet your neighbors. Everybody Ive met so far has been kind and friendly. Two thumbs up.
Could you please give me an estimate on the monthly electricity/gas bill for a 2 bedroom apartment?
I had really great tour with Grace! Very nice area with a pool table!
The amenities are great and well-kept. I love the events they put on, and the property managers are super helpful and accommodating!
This is an amazing place staffed by wonderful people. Being in My and having boys in NC in college I have a peace of mind that they are safe. We found lighthouse after a bad experience at another housing places lighthouse staff immediately made me feel comfortable and I know this is right where the boys belong. Staff is always helpful polite and kind. Thank you lighthouse and staff for giving me a peace of mind.
They have an incredibly slow maintenance service, but however if you owe them money they will be quick to tell you to pay up. The place is small for the price and most of the appliances break. Elevator is broken most of the time. WiFi is insanely slow and unreliable. All around just not a good place to live.
+ Reasonable rates for what you get. Nice amenities.- Hot tub was out of commission from September to march.
Lighthouse is a great place to live! Its so close to campus and everyone that works there is amazing. The apartments themselves are beautiful and welcoming. I will definitely be renewing my lease for next year!
Being so close to campus is great. Love all of the fun activities and free food they offer
Great location. Great amenities. Beautiful property. Friendly staff. Huge bedrooms, bathrooms, and closets. Quiet. I LOVE living here! If you dont live here, you should! Way to go Lighthouse! LIT for Life!
Such a relaxing, home-feeling apartment. Filled with many college students, plenty of activities to do around here because its located in the middle of everything. Definitely recommending this place to a college student or even parent.
Great property, friendly staff. Very accommodating. The property manager, Tori is awesome. I highly recommend Lighthouse Apartments to anybody.
This is a great place to live! So comfortable and convenient to UNCW.
Light House has transformed over the past 2 years I have been here. They are stepping up their game and how can you beat literally walking to class. No buses needed, I dont even use a bike! Love it. The staff is attentive and even on campus just passing by we all say hi. Does it even get better than that??
When I first got to Lighthouse I thought that it was going to be a great place to spend a semester. However I quickly realized how wrong I was. The staff dont really care about your needs, nor do they care about what goes on in the complex. While the showroom looks nice, the actual rooms are completely different. My apartment had tons and tons of unpainted walls, was missing drawers and a door. The bathroom AC makes so much noise that its almost unbearable to have the lights on. Weve been complaining to the front desk for several months about main AC in the apartment not working, but they have yet to fix this issue. The rooms come with a tiny dresser and a tiny glass desk, making it a stretch to call the rooms furnished. The kid at the front desk told me he lived here his whole time at Wilmington and didnt regret it at all. Ive found this to be completely untrue, and Im annoyed I fell for his BS. All in all this is an awful apartment complex, the people dont care, the rooms arent nearly as nice as they seem, and everything costs you a fortune if you dont keep it perfect. The only thing it has going for it is that its close and thats the only reason it deserves the one star Im giving it. Overall its just a really bad apartment and spectacularly failed to live up to the moderate expectations I had for it.
What a wonderful apartment complex!! Our son had to live off campus his freshmen year and we were so blessed to find the Lighthouse! It has everything you could possibly want and then some. I highly recommend the Lighthouse Apartments!
Ive enjoyed living here of the past two years. The staff is super nice and helpful and the apartments are well furnished. The community is awesome and they always have special events for residents usually involving free food. The price is very reasonable considering everything that you get. I would highly recommend to any student looking for off campus living within walking distance to campus.
I love living at lighthouse!! The amenities are great, apartment is super close to UNCW and the staff is very friendly!! Cole is always extremely helpful!
Grace is a wonderful person who works the front desk. I love the pool and the game room.
WOW! You want luxurious student living then lighthouse is YOUR place amazing 10/10 recommended for every student at cape fear community college and UNCW.
Great facilities, responsive work orders, and convenient biking/ walking distance to campus.
Im moving in this January for the Spring semester. Everyone was really nice and helped out a lot when I visited. They also made it very easy to sign and made it a very low pressure situation. Not to mention the have an awesome common area at their facility.
This place is dirty constantly, overpriced, small, but thats not the worst part. The maintenance staff just doesnt seem to want to help people, our dryer has broken down six times throughout our year here. It takes up to a week and a half to get someone to come and fix it, with all of us working full time jobs this is causing us to rewear clothes or have to wear half damp clothes. We had them come and fix it when we werent home and by the time we were home and we tried to use it it was already broken and unusable again. This has continued to happen over and over again and they themselves have suggested replacing the dryer and we said that would be great... Im still waiting four days later to have any response back or any fixes made. The location is honestly the only good thing about this complex so if you are willing to pay more for less and be constantly ignored when there is a problem with THEIR equipment then go right ahead and live here, if you wanted to be respected and treated as if you are paying for services and quality facilities then please do not live here.
Grace was a great tour guide I love this place
The management is great, top of the line maintenance crew. My favorite partment complexes in Wilmington but I am biased because I am the Sherwin-Williams rep 4 Lighthouse apartments. They run a nice tight ship
I LOVE IT HERE! The amenities are insane, the rent is AMAZING, and its a great place to live. They have tons of events like Block Parties etc. Its close to UNCW if you go to school there. I honestly have no complaints.
Too expensive and the property manager sucks. Don’t be fooled by all the cool amendities, it’s really not worth it. Rent is ridiculous for a small, standard apartment and they try to catch you with any extra charge they can. Greedy and invasive of your space and privacy.
To be honest, I wish I could leave no stars. Lighthouse is without a doubt the worst when it comes to customer service and making things convenient for residents. Rent is WAY overpriced, I live in a 2 bedroom apartment and pay the same amount that I will be paying for a 3 bedroom house in Aspen Heights student living community next year which is completely ridiculous in my opinion. They say that utilities are included but I have paid overages each month and Im not even home 75% of the time so Im not sure where thats coming from. They arent there to help you, just to get your money. Each and every one of the staff members have given me attitude when I have gone to ask questions, even when picking up my packages. I was also towed once for absolutely no reason and when I went to talk to the staff about it I was talked down to and they couldnt have cared less. They have all these amenities but every time I have gone to use the fire pit its been broken and the hot tub is rarely hot. The appliances, furniture and building itself are so cheaply made everything was already falling apart before we moved in and it has only gotten worse. We were told when we moved in that we would have new furniture since ours was scratched up but nothing ever happened. They also never tried to fix appliances that we had issues with when moving in either. The bathroom fan comes on when you turn the lights on and it is so loud it makes me not want to even have the lights on. I have lived here since this past August and I CAN NOT WAIT to leave in July. In comparison to other student living in Wilmington this has to be one of the worst. It may be close to campus but that is the only positive. Absolutely do not recommend it for anyone unless it truly is your last option.
I shouldn’t have to come home from a midnight shift and fight for a parking spot where I live.
I wish I couldn’t give them any stars. Don’t move here this is the worst apartment complex I have ever lived it. The front office doesn’t help unless it’s convenient for them. I tried to get out of my lease before I even moved in and they lied and bullied me into moving in anyway. I had someone throw up and egg my car and nothing was done. The cameras don’t even work that they have. Visitor and residence parking sucks, you have to save a visitors parking spot if you want to have guess over and not have there car towed. The only good thing about this apartment is the location. the only amenities i used was the gym, the pool was always nasty. There is mold in all of the hallways of the complex. This apartment complex is not worth the money or the headache!
Lighthouse is the BEST! They quickly expedite any requests and genuinely take care of their tenants. The community events they put on are pretty epic too.
Front desk receptionist grace is OUTSTANDING! Def coming here to see her again
Lighthouse is the best! Fantastic amenities and the convenience in terms of location is unbeatable. Anything that feels as warm and welcoming as a home is always great and Lighthouse feels like home.
So far I really like this property. There are lots of front office events and the people here are very friendly from my experience. Up to date, free WiFi, and a gym with study room and snacks. My only complaints are parking is pretty hectic and the walls are very very thin. You can hear people walking outside, talking, and everyones music. That probably won’t change so no point in complaining too much but there are no bugs or crimes that I’ve noticed.
Good amenities
Super nice staff & very close to UNCW !
This property is absolutely AMAZING! The property is beautiful and the staff is so friendly! I enjoy being a resident here and recommend for everyone to live here!
Staff is always extremely helpful and friendly!
Heres the honest truth about my experience with Lighthouse:They have been undergoing a management change since April or May I believe, and the staff are quick to site this as the source of their problems at all times. In fact, they have continued to blame this change even into late June. They have constantly had key issues (I have had to get new keys on multiple occasions because the ones they had given me did not work), and my fob barely works half the time to get into the pool area or game room after office hours (6pm on weekdays). They messed up charges on my account and double charged me for my application/admin fees, although this was eventually worked out. I also had tons of issues with getting into the online resident portal. They told me they would contact me about fixing but never did so I had to constantly be on them until it was fixed (which didnt happen until almost a month into my sublease). Finally, I was promised by the old management before I signed my lease that I would be able to stay an extra 5 nights beyond my lease agreement, and they would just put my apartment at the bottom of the list for turn overs. However, the new management has revoked that and will be kicking me out instead so I will have to find somewhere to stay for the last 5 days of my internship. They were unwilling to accommodate me at all.I will say that the maintenance staff is pretty great about being responsive and fixing things in a timely manner. The game room area is also pretty nice (if you are able to get in), but the gym is tiny and sometimes the air is not functioning so occasionally I have to workout in an 87 degree room. All I am saying is that if I am paying more than $650 a month for my apartment, I expect better quality than what is offered here.
Always a good time, Grace is always super helpful!!
Lighthouse Apartments have been a blessing. Top Quality, right across from campus, and great security. Renewing for another year!
Beautiful apartments and the Management have been wonderful to work with. They helped me set up my online rent payments with a personal portal. I highly recommend Lighthouse Apartments, so convenient to UNCW!
Great apartments that are the closest to campus. You can wake up 15 min before class and still make it. Nice, clean, well-kept building.
Its basically a glorified dorm room—worn out, springbox mattress, vomit stains on the stairwells from parties, almost always smelled like weed. They hit you with a lot of fees and stupid fines, like the ridiculous $20 service fee to pay for utilities, which is fine if you have roommates who dont abuse the AC, like mine were, even after talking to them about it. Twice. They also fined the unit as a whole for one roommate feeding a stray cat.The staff are alright, I dont really have any complaints with them. Theyd always put cookies out in the lobby, so that was nice.
David, and Cole turned a bad experience at UNCW, with our daughter being displaced from University Apts., to a wonderful experience! Now she can settle in and start to enjoy life as a college student! There aren’t enough words to describe these fine men!
NORMALLY AFTER PEOPLE MOVE IN THE REVIEW GO FROM 2 out of 5 * to 4-5 out of5 *.THESE REVIEWS ARE FAKE/ DISTORTED. I have made 3 -4 reviews in the past 10 months and they have all been deleted. DO NOT LIVE HERE!! AT ALL! Everything they do is to make you feel welcomed and cared about.... Untill you sign your lease, then you’re just another dollar to them. All polices are there to scam you out of money. Employees are rude and are fast to accuse you. I repeat DO NOT LIVE HERE. YOU WILL ABSOLUTELY HATE IT!! These people are the WORST!
I was going to wait until the end of my experience at Lighthouse to write this review, but I’m beginning to see the new batch of students in the leasing office looking for living arrangements next year. Do not live here. The employees at Lighthouse apartments sell you an experience that you do not receive, and they are completely incapable of delivering. Any common area is filthy. The halls were power washed this year, but it looks like they simply sprayed down the vomit and filth with a hose. Many of the shiny attractions they promote are damaged to the extent of being unusable. The pool hasn’t been open since the hurricane due to being contaminated with pig feces. This issue has basically been ignored. At one point when asked whether the pool was safe to swim in an employee replied that it might be a little “chilly.” She was unaware of the New Hanover Health Department sign on the pool directly behind her and said she hadn’t heard that anything was wrong with the pool. I point out this specific scenario as many issues are handled like this. The employees obviously do not communicate amongst themselves as you could ask the same question to all of them and receive a wild range of answers. This stems from the property managers inability to handle a property this size. The hurricane damaged the property heavily and the repair effort has been terribly organized. The roofs weren’t tarped before they repaired interiors so expect mold damage to be prevelant for a while. During the miserable experience of my room being repaired while I lived in it the property manager stated they could not give me times that employees would be in my apartment because she was unable to organize such a large project. Do not expect any privacy or hospitality from her during your stay here. The positives this complex provides are the short walk to campus and the fact that a few of the younger employees, although left at a major disadvantage by their boss, are in fact helpful. They have a history of deleting reviews so I’ll keep this copy and pasted somewhere.
Lighthouse is a great place to live with many amenities and a great atmosphere! I look forward to living here again!
