My two dogs are always so excited to come here for daycare! They don’t look back at me even once to say goodbye. I also use the Boarding for when I travel and I’ve been very happy with this service as well! I highly recommend Wilmington Animal Health for your pets. The doctors here are very helpful and compassionate.

This was a great clinic but something is very wrong now. No one answers the phones anymore.I have called for 5weeks with only an answering machine to talk to. The old boarding manager is now the receptionist & she is disrespectful & rude. Texting is now the way of communicating. Very impersonal! We love Dr Horne, she is great with our 4 dogs.The new boarding manager is amazing!We have never been checked in & out so efficiently before. The boardingstaff is so friendly & professional . I cannot say enough good things about this vet! I’ve worked with two different doctors for my two dogs : Katie and Shawna. They are both so kind and caring for my little fur babies.They are prompt to get us in, very gentle with my dogs, and most importantly - they listen (so well!). When I got my first dog, I took him to the vet for everything. They listened to every concern I had and did their best to treat his needs.I’ve since moved from wilmington, but drive 45 minutes with my new dog because I am so pleased with their care. Highly highly highly recommend!

We had a great experience as usual. From the kind front desk and the caring assistants and techs, to the great veterinarians. We see Dr. Katie Lewis and she has always taken great care of our boy and always gives us reasonable options for his care. We know our dog is in great hands.

We have four dogs and have all of them cared for by this clinic since 2015 and have had a wonderful experience with the Doctors and staff, Nothing but positive things to say up to this point! What happened to this clinic?? ?? The Doctors here are just fantastic! BUT the reception has declined, no one answers or returns calls, rude and unprofessional staff at desk now (Not All But you know who you are), Office manager unresponsive to complaints. If it wasnt for the quality of care my crew received from the Medical staff Id leave this practice, I just hope someone with some management and people skills will rectify their problem.

I have been going to Wilmington Animal Healthcare since they first opened which l think is about 15 years. Ive had experience with all the Vets there and they are all amazing, but I am especially lucky to have been helped usually by Dr. Stacy or Dr Jeff Ward the owners. You will never find more kind, compassionate,and knowledgeable Vets anywhere. To add to that their facility is top notch assuring your pets will get the very best care available. I also board my pets there. I cannot say enough good things about Wilmington Animal Healthcare.

The only negative thing I can say about this office is that they are VERY busy, all the time. They will do their best to work you in...but you may be waiting for 2 hours. Beyond that, no negatives to share.I recently had to make the difficult decision to put my 14 year old Pomeranian down as she was suffering from heart failure. She stopped eating, stopped taking her meds, etc. The vets at WAH were very compassionate and helpful through the process.We unfortunately couldnt schedule for the procedure to be in my home due to their staffing not allowing it, but, they made the in-office process as easy as that type of thing can be. We were led in from a side door and put into a private room. They brought my pup a plate of bacon and cheese whiz for her last meal. They gave us time to ourselves at each stage of the process so we could grieve. Dr. Ward was very helpful Im easing our minds. He advised that we did everything right Im regards to bringing our other dog along with us so he would understand what is happening and why we didnt bring our girl home with us.Overall its hard to be positive about such a sad situation, but, WAH handled everything in a way that made the process easier for us.Update: 7/16/21 - I just received a sympathy card from WAH including some nose and paw prints. A VERY kind gesture that I appreciate greatly.

I just recently switched my pups to Wilmington Animal, they were there for my aging Boston with CHF when my own Vet refused to see her twice during office hours. They could not have been more compassionate towards Tallulah and myself, it was a hard day. So, when I adopted my new pup, the only place I knew I would take her is Wilmington Animal Hospital. She was nervous at first but again the doctor and staff put her at ease. She never even felt the shot! They are there for their patients!

AMAZING STAFF AND SERVICE. Katie Horne, Stacey and Chelsea were absolutely first class. Very clear and transparent with diagnosis and treatment plan. Checked in with every important detail. We have been pleased with Wilmington Animal Healthcare because twice now our cat has needed medical help at a non-scheduled time. Their willingness to work in a client is so nice. We feel confident our cat is receiving great veterinary care plus kindness from the staff.

We LOVE this facility! The staff is so kind and the Vets are EXCELLENT. They reapond quickly to emergency issues which is how I found them! My labradoodle was scared when the Vet came in and he literally got in the floor with him to be on his level vs. putting him on the exam table to exam him. He even did a biopsy while sitting in the floor with my dog! I am just so highly impressed with the care my dogs have received here!

We moved here looking for a vet that would be our go to place. Im so so happy we found it here. Its super close to home but its worth it even for the drive. The people here are AMAZING. The technicians are great and the vets are super super sweet. They are always so welcoming and love my little Fifa! They call to check up on her when weve taken her after a visit and have recommended things when we needed it. Its a great place for pets and I love that they board, we havent had to use it but would feel comfortable. Great people and pricing is really good too!

Always a smile, always top notch service weather it is a visit to the vet, obtaining medications, checking in and checking out. H/ow can you just acknowledge one on such a wonderful team effort. Also, would like to recognize the effort put in to providing coverage during this pandemic, the parking spot numbering, pickup and delivery, phone contact has worked so perfectly for all. I think many people forget “quality of care” includes the ability to recognize whether or not a medical facility can or cannot treat a patient. I think this staff and hospital does a beautiful job in that regard. They are doing work in appointments. Not many veterinary offices are because the pandemic created a business boom for the public adopting pets. Therefore the need and business grew.Many are on here are saying, “They’re so busy”. That equates to the level and quality of business being offered that people from neighboring counties are coming to this hospital. The fact that the staff are willing to say, “Sorry, we cannot see you today, but we can try to work in, recommend another hospital, or come on a different day.” reflects the fact that they care about the community they are serving to not waste their time or prolong an animal’s suffering.This staff works tirelessly to offer the highest standards of care that are accredited. This is the one hospital I’ve been to where, even when busy, the staff takes the time to explain treatment plans and NOT rush you to get to the next client. They are not retailing medicine like other hospitals in the area, they are practicing quality medicine! I drive from Onslow County, an hour away, just to see these doctors because I know the care my furbabies are receiving is quality care at the highest level! I can’t thank this staff enough for all they do!

Dr. Ward and team were wonderful. They very welcoming and warm, took time to get to know our pup Ash, answered all questions and were very accommodating.

I am always amazed at how quick I get replys to email/text or a call back. Vets/vet techs/office staff are amazingly patient and take the time to explain things to me(helicopter mom here). Everybody at the clinic is a rock star! I feel that my cats receive the best possible care. Never had a vet clinic this good before! There are other clinics closer to my home, but this one is totally worth the longer drive.

Elvis saw Dr. Page, which was our first time with her. Jason said she was really wonderful with our special boy! I had the chance to speak with her when she followed up the next day. Agree that she is professional, knowledgeable and personable.

Wilm. Animal Healthcare provides preventative care and occasional treatment for our two dogs, ages 8 and 11. I always leave fully confident of the services performed, and having had an enjoyable experience. Heck, even our dogs love to go there!

Every vet and tech here treat our dogs with the best of care. They are always available in an emergency. They strive to make things more convenient (we have 3 dogs, so less trips is awesome!). Always a great experience whether routine care or a medical/dental need, injury, etc.

I brought my dog in for a vaccine booster. I pulled up, texted them I was there, not too long of a wait. They came out, took my dog in, brought him back out in just a few minutes, I paid via credit card outside and we were finished! The two female techs were super sweet to my pup and kind to me. We have been taking our cats, Jasmine (who passed in November at 21 years old) and Jackson our 18 year old blind cat to Wilmington Animal Healthcare for the last 10 years. They have the most caring vets. They have continued to work during this pandemic with the utmost care. They have provided support for our elderly cats and will go out of their way to take care of them. We also board them here when we cant take them with us, I know they are being taken care of and they make sure they get their medications. (You cant ask a neighbor to medicate your cat if they need shots) They are the best and I wouldnt take them anywhere else.

Callie was also wonderful to deal with, She was extremely friendly and helpful and caring. She was great at communicating all the details about the medicine that was prescribed, and made us feel secure about everything. Overall, a great experience!

We use to love WAH. Started taking our dog there from the time we got him and had nothing but great things to say about the staff, the practice and the doctors. I know COVID procedures caused some delays and longer wait times, but the bottom line now is that they have taken on way too many clients and now their care and responsiveness is awful. Now half of the time you have to leave a message to even talk to someone since they added a new automated message on the phone line. I called and left a message and never heard back. I called the next day and same thing. Days later I called again and thankfully got someone on the phone. We ended up switching vets due to this. They should at least have someone answer the phone in person that you can talk to for appointments, medications, etc. where you dont have to wait days to hear back. Sad to see this happen.

I have no complaints about Wilmington Animal Healthcare. I moved here last summer and the first vet office I visited with my cat I was unhappy with, but then I tried Wilmington Animal Healthcare and have been very happy with the care my pets received. They are quick, professional, and communicate very well, always letting me know what tests, vaccines, etc they are giving. They also do a good job listening to my concerns- I have a cat who has had chronic issues and I value vets who can listen to me as his biggest advocate.

I encountered a group of really warm and personable staff and a veterinarian who listens and offers to work to help the animal feel their best during my visit. My dog was taken inside and seen in a very reasonable time and I was given a clear explanation of the findings and the course of treatment. I didnt feel rushed during our conversation and was told to call back anytime if I had any concerns or questions.

Dr Jeff and his team throughout the past 15 years and many animals has always been professional, honest and caring. We can always rely on his compassionate and level headed approach to our pets care even when the end time comes. Wilmington Animal Healthcare is really the best in all categories. They are very responsive. After your pet goes there, either the Vet or the vet-tech calls to check on the condition of your pet. When your pet is not doing well, they give and explain all healthcare options.

I had a “new patient” exam with my new baby Trout yesterday. I was so impressed by the timely, professional service I was given. We have found our new home vet for sure! The doctor and staff were SO sweet and pleasant and made me so comfortable and they have my full trust. Very thorough, asked me if I had any questions and if I ever had any questions to not hesitate to call! No one seemed rush while they were giving me their time. We are very happy to join this vet and thank you so much for your amazing care!

My dog is a new patient and this was our first visit. I really appreciate the procedures in place for curbside service. Everything went very smoothly and it felt very safe. From the time I arrived and checked in until the visit concluded, the customer service provided was platinum! Dr. Horne was wonderful and has excellent communication skills. She was very kind, informative, caring, and we had a great discussion about treatment, as well as my dogs history with allergies. I will definitely continue seeing her and feel she is a great fit for me and my dog. Thank you for being so wonderful!

I am having the dog I just adopted treated for heart worms here. It is split into 3 treatments and the total cost is around $1000.($1100 with his initial visit included) After the (staging) visit and initial treatment they told me he might only need the first treatment because it appears he has a mild case.I will know more next month, but this is a savings of around $600 that some veterinary hospitals might have decided to go ahead and take advantage of.I appreciate their thoroughness, concern, and honesty!

We’re pleased with the service our puppy is getting. However, the amount of feedback we get (daycare) leaves something to be desired. To say our puppy did “fine” after two visits is not sufficient, especially when to trying to train her.

Ive only been using this veterinary hospital for a couple of months, but everyone Ive talked to on the staff has been responsive and professional. Because of COVID restrictions, they are not allowing owners to come into the building. However, they have been efficient in picking up pets from their parking lot and are thorough in communicating results with me after examinations. The doctor spent a lot of time with me over the phone, and the staff has met every request Ive made. Im very happy with this hospital.

She was patient and understanding the entire time and was able to get me in early today, even though I was a new client. Linda worked with Brooklyn today throughout her visit and was extremely kind and gentle through the whole process. I have been taking my dog to WAH since he was 10 1/2 months old. He will be 10 years old next year. The staff has always been friendly, spends quality time with each pet and his/her owner, and never had issues with the treatment he needed. We parked in a parking spot so that he could receive his Bordatella Vaccine. I had to take a work call after letting WAH that we have arrived.I couldnt bring him inside at the moment; however, one of the veterinarians immediately came outside to take him in. That helped me out tremendously as I was able to knock out two birds with one stone.I highly recommend taking your fur babies to WAH. Yes, they may be competitively priced but your fur babies will always be taken great care of! You will not regret it!

First visit with 2 rescue kitties. Technicians came out and collected histories and took cats in for exam. Vet called and discussed exam. Hope to be able to go inside once COVID19 protocols are over.

I just found out today that Dr. Jenkins is no longer with you all... she was simply the best ....caring very compassionate when I had to say goodbye to my little boy Blue... explained things... sat in the floor with me while I was having a moment with my little guy ...and the vet tech that was working with her that day was just as compassionate and caring ...... My daughter had her pup examined and treated by Dr Jenkins .... Coco...Bubba ...and myself are truly going to miss her as Dr.Jenkins in my opinion was simply the best ....💖💖🙂

We recently moved out of the area, but I continue to use WAHC because of the peace of mind they offer. It’s worth the short drive! ❤️

I was visiting from Charlotte when my dog got a pretty nasty hot spot/skin infection. I called 6 other vets in the Wrightsville Beach area to see if I could get him in before it got more infected. All of them told me they either weren’t accepting new clients (even though they had openings before they knew I was just here visiting) or I would have to wait until next week... keep in mind the hotspot was a festering wound at this point. They all basically told me too bad and only 1 of them even made a recommendation of what to do while I tried to find a vet. The lack of interest was pretty surprising. Heck, even I knew it would take 5 minutes and he’d need a topical anti inflammatory, an antibiotic and a cone... so I was surprised they couldn’t squeeze that in.Wilmington Animal Hospital was the exception... the lady on the phone put me on hold while she talked to the vet and then agreed to see him within 24 hours as a walk-in. They were quick, courteous, and helpful. And it was nice the actual vet came out to speak with me... a lot of them don’t do that since they switched to the corona-style stay-in-your-car approach.

We have found Wilmington Animal Hospital staff to be caring and extremely competent. We feel we can trust the doctors, especially Dr Katie Lewis to look after our precious Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.

Earlier this year, we were traveling with our 2 Great Danes along the whole east coast and 1 of our fur babies got really sick from eating too many organic bones at once. Apparently he had been eating his brothers bones along with his own throughout the whole trip. He could not go potty. We found him bleeding badly from behind and got so scared. He was extremely sick you could just see he was in pain and not feeling well. We needed a nearby ER and this clinic did not hesitate to take us in that same day. It ended up not being as bad as it looked, but we were grateful of the amazing services they provided our fur baby. That same day we were back on the road with medication and a soft food diet to help him heal. Wonderful doctors and staff! Thank you for helping our baby giant!

My visit with Wilmington Animal and Health is always fast and professional they let me know when my boxer has a due visit coming up and easy to schedule upon arrival all I need to do is text back to them where I’m located in there marked spots in the parking lot with them coming to get my boxer do the task and bring her back to me with in minutes and check out upon bringing my dog back with there handy hand held card device. Always easy to get my dog in and out with this group of animal lovers.

This Vet does not have your animals best interest in mind, revenue is a higher priority to them.We go there and wait two hours after the rep on the phone told us a half hour, ok covid, I get it. I need to meet the owner of this business to teach me how to sell my own because I have never been up sold so well in all my life. We paid $200 for baby wipes and a vitamin. They tried to tell me my 10 week old puppy needed an ultrasound......... the main reason we went there is still not solved and we are on to the next vet. I never seen a puppy cry from discomfort in the way my Lola is. I’m so glad this vet cared enough to alleviate her discomfort rather than make a few extra bucks...... avoid this place and seek more caring guidance.

It is always a pleasure when we come but the most recent visit was stressful for me and everyone was calm and reassuring and took excellent care of Lilybug.

My fur babies are such important parts of our lives. One of my fur babies isgetting up there in age and Im a little neurotic about his health. I called and was workid in within hours. Dr Jeff Ward was so reassuring to me and assured me that my fur baby needed some antibiotics and probiotics and would be on the road to recovery.
