We recently moved here and our sweet little 16 year old toy poodle was very ill with kidney failure. Sophia couldnt see, could barely hear and had arthritis quite badly. Atlantic Animal Hospital took very good care of her and when it came time to put her down, they were so very caring and compassionate! I cant say enough about how Dr Parish took care of her and my husband and I really appreciated her kindness. I recommend Atlantic Animal Hospital highly!
Almost 10 years I’ve brought my dog here. Groomer clipped her ear today and had to take my dog to my vet for a quick stitch, but when I got there the groomer gave me the dog and said “sorry they won’t see her as a walk in, they said take your dog to the emergency vet a few miles away”. 3 hours later I’m still sitting here in the emergency vet because very sick animals are in need first. You would think the vet I’ve been paying thousands to over the years would maybe try to accommodate, but clearly not. I’ll be taking both my dogs elsewhere!
Advertise Emergency care. Press 1 for emergency care and then they offer you an appointment weeks out. My cat will not last that long. Don’t bother if you have an emergency
Brought my dog here on 12/19/20 after she had an accident and needed stitches. It was an over $400 procedure and I was told that a check & rebandage as well as suture removal were included in the price I was charged. Took my dog back today 12/21/2020 for her recheck as her discharge papers stated. When I called to let them know I was there - they asked for CC information and I told them that I was told that the recheck was included. They said okay and came out and got her. The changed her bandage and brought her out. The nurse? (I’m not sure who she was) hands me a roll of bandage, tape & some gauze and tells me that doctor wants me to have it. Okay, fine. Now tonight, at 6 pm as I’m eating dinner I get a call asking AGAIN for payment. I tell them the same thing, it was included. The receptionist goes to tell the doctor and she comes back that I’m being charged for the bandage I didn’t ASK FOR! What!?!? I should have been told when it was GIVEN to me that there would be a charge. Now, it’s only $14, BUT what if I didn’t have $14? I was expecting this to be included. It’s the premise. I was told that everything thereafter would be included. That was a lie and they decided to argue with me about $14. I will not be going back here after she gets her sutures removed. Who knows what kind of surprise charge I will be given then! Now I have to take 30 minutes out of my day tomorrow to bring back bandages I didn’t even ask for. Ha!
Very disappointed in this establishment. We moved here from NH and established a relationship quickly despite online reviews. Today I took my canine in for a bath and paw trimming. (See pics for end results). When I got notified to pick him up I was told by two women leaving the establishment that they were looking for the groomer, someone else would bring him out to me. After about 10 more minutes someone brought my dog to me and apologized, saying they were looking for the groomer.. my dog went in for a bath and paw trim. He came back with long hair in two legs. when I called to discuss The situation I got excuses and patched through to the groomer who was defiant. I can say they lost a veterinarian client as well as a grooming client over this.
Ive been taking my dog to Atlantic Animal Hospital for a couple of years now. I like the actual veterinarian doctors there; but, the staff have been less than friendly. On my last couple of visits, the wait time has been unreasonable despite the fact I made appointments ahead of time. I cannot come in, which I understand because of covid; however, they require you stay in the parking lot. I sat in the parking lot for 2 hours my last visit even though I had made an appointment. The appointment was only for an ear infection follow up and anal glands expressed.
My mother has been taking her pup Jett to Atlantic Animal hospital for a few years and when I came to dog sit for her on Monday, my pup Lola got very sick. The staff was so efficient and was able to see Lola right away. Everyone there was very kind and made sure to give my pup Lola the best care. Would definitley come back if I lived locally, but glad that my mom takes her pup there!!
The staff and service has always been great however my last two visits weren’t the same. In March I brought our dog in for what was supposed to be a routine visit/checkup however when I called a few weeks ago for advice on our dogs food they couldn’t help because she was due for her “routine” checkup. I explained how she was just in and was informed she came in only for her shots, so I went ahead and scheduled her appointment for a morning visit. Fast forward to the day of her appointment at 8:45am, I called to notify them I was there and without asking for any information on who or why I was visiting, I was immediately asked for my Credit card number and placed on hold. After being on hold for over 7 minutes I was told that my appointment was at 1pm and they couldn’t fit me in at 8:45. I was placed on hold again, and was told the only appointment available that day was at 12:15. I asked what happened to my 1pm appointment and was told they already gave the appointment away, but yet we never cancelled my 1pm appointment. I’ve been going here for over 5 years and disappointed with the customer service/front desk staff.
Passing through town and needed update on my 3 dogs vacations. Wasn’t let in (Covid), but the vet sounds nice on phone and she did a good physical well check on my dogs and they got their vaccinations.
We have used Atlantic Animal Hospital since we moved down here 16 years ago. They are the best care that any of our dogs have received. I would highly recommend them to anyone, They are very respectful of any decision that needs to be made. We love all the doctors there. Thank you very much Dr Duffy for coming to our house during the hardest decision that we had to make.
We went here for the first time with out 18 year old Papillon, Demi, who had stopped eating (very dangerous in the smaller breeds), and the snow storm caused many of the Vets (our regular one, included) were closed down. We called, and A.A.H. took us in. They gave us some medicine, after a few tests to make sure that there were no other problems.
As a recent transplant to Wilmington, one of my first things to do was to find a vet for my 3 rescue cats - Mosby, Murphy and Jasmine. I feel as if I scored a 10 in finding Atlantic Animal Hospital. They stayed for seven days over the Christmas holiday and were perfectly safe. The vets at AAH are kind, caring and work with you on the care and treatment of your pet. I highly recommend them.
This is more of a Kennel than a Drs office. If you need medical attention for your loved one, avoid this place at all costs. I am a 30 yr resident of wilmington. I had heard bad things but they were the only place that could see my pet that day. What should have been a simple visit got really complicated and my fur baby suffered for no reason other than the incompetence of this vet!
We have had the experience of seeing two great vets here; Dr. Joplin and Dr. Duffy. They were both wonderful and Dr. Joplin even called after hours to check in on our baby!! What a wonderful Dr and an unexpected phone call we received!!! We have never had a vet do that!I could rave on and on about both Dr.s, however the front staff and some of the techs are lacking basic customer service skills or basic communication skills and thats where I get upset.I value my time. When we bring our kids in, they are almost always met by another animal which they ALL get excited. While I am trying to keep my dogs calm, almost always there is someone else sitting in the office that could speed things up when there is a line at check-in. The wait is horrible most of the time and not efficient. The front office staff is rather, well just BLAH and lackadaisical when it comes to expediting check-in. I have felt they dont always read what we are there for and act rather clueless when we are checking in. For as great as both the Dr.s are that we have seen here multiple times, the office and auxiliary staff lack basic customer service skills. I feel like we pay a premium at Atlantic, but we want the premium experience throughout the visit, not just with the Dr.s.
This hospital has the most caring and compassionate group of vets I have ever come across. Their knowledge and attention to detail is outstanding. They never give up until everything has been addressed and their pricing is very fair.
Very helpful and professional staff. Thank you!
Dont lose your animal like I did. I took my cat, Hallie, here because my husband said wonderful things about this vet. I wasnt sold on my current vet, so why not. Well my first appt after a physical, I decided to get her teeth cleaned in Feb 2015. Up until this point, Hallie a 9 year old tabby had been perfectly healthy all her life. Hallie ended up flat lining on the table and they were able to resuscitate her. Happy to have her back, the vet gave me one, maybe two, antibiotics to take home in case of infection. A few months went by, Hallie slowly began to lose weight, vomit and not eat. I took her back to the vet in July and Hallie had lost a third of her weight. I paid for an ultrasound and blood work. The vet could not come to any conclusion besides late stage Lymphoma (which wouldnt make sense since it was a rapid decline) or IBD. Hallie was put on an anti-inflammatory to treat IBD. One year since her teeth cleaning, Hallie was on her death bed having lost half her initial weight and barely eating. To try anything, I suggested an antibiotic to the vet. Of course, after consenting to long extensive tests suggested by the vet, that still found nothing. The antibiotic turned things around for Hallie. She perked up and gained some weight back. This led me to believe Hallie had an infection and the vet never suggested such. I had to diagnose my own animal. I believe, Hallie had got an infection the day she went in to get her teeth cleaned. The antibiotic and anti-inflammatory bought Hallie time. The infection had already done the damage to her body for an entire year before getting treated. Hallie made it one more year until Feb 2017. She didnt have Lymphoma lasting 2 years with those symptoms plus an antibiotic wouldnt do anything for cancer. I believe, she had infection in her intestines and in the end couldnt eat anymore. Maybe, if the vet would have suggested an infection and antibiotic from the beginning (July 2015), she might still be here. I would not recommend this vet to anyone.
To all my pet lovers,Not only is this the best hospital I have found in town but the staff truly cares. I get personal calls from the staff and doctor to ensure we are always on the same page. The doggy daycare is also a huge plus! They learn to know your dog and you see these dogs excited to be there! That’s insanely amazing to me!You won’t be disappointed.
The vets at Atlantic are the most compassionate, understanding and competent doctors Ive ever seen for my furry babies. I highly recommend them! And I Love that they also rescue and treat animals in need!
Can’t say enough about how wonderful these guys are! We’ve been bringing our fur babies to Atlantic Animal Hospital for 4 years, and couldn’t be happier. The friendly and knowledgeable front staff are great. They are prompt and courteous whether you’re walking through the front door, calling with an emergency, or needing to make a boarding reservation. And the doctors are incredible. I’m pretty sure that we’ve seen them all, for different reasons through the years. Not only are they highly competent and really smart professionals, they are so full of compassion and kindness. They never make me feel rushed, but take the time to answer all my questions, and give me all the feedback and information that I need. I absolutely recommend Atlantic Animal Hospital to anyone looking for a 5 star vet for their animal family members.
This place was recommended to me by our existing vet for emergency surgery for my daughters cat, Not only was it excellent care and communication, we felt that they cared for Animals as much as we do we would highly recommend them
Dr. Duffy is our normal vet but was unavailable. Dr. Rohrer did take the time to work with Isabella and address my concerns. I dont think is possible to have better care then with these Doctors and this Practice.
Weve been going to AAH for over 10 years and they have always gone out of their way to do all they can for my pets. I have a therapy dog and they have to fill out extra paperwork each year and they always di their part in helping me keep up to date. I highly recommend them to my friends and family.
Theyre always very kind and very sweet towards our dog Luna who absolutely loves going here (I think she just thinks she comes to get attention and love). Prices are reasonable and everyone is very knowledgeable including the women and the front desk. Very happy to make this our normal vet for our baby. (Edit) Knowing that your normal vet is also an animal hospital so if anything goes wrong theyll have your pets records is extremely important to me and my family. Atlantic Animal Hospital is still the best vet and town and Id recommend them to anyone.
This is the best vet I’ve ever been to. The playgroup is great. The staff couldn’t be nicer. And they genuinely care about my dogs. I feel safe putting my babies in their care.
They take good care of your pups and make sure you have everything you need. Always an easy visit with good customer service. And they really do care for your fur babies.
I would send anyone to Atlantic Vet.! After diagnosing my poodle with renal failure when I had been to another vet in town and one in Chapel Hill, Dr. Roher and her team have always done there very best to care for my animals. I believe she and her team are top notch veterinarians and they do business with the pet and owner in mind. I can only say the very best about this wonderful veterinarian!
The staff at AAH was so helpful and very professional! I recently adopted Mabel a rescue pup. Denise made the process very easy and informed me of everything I needed to give Mabel a new comfy home! I highly recommend AAH for all of your Veterinary needs!
Took our domestic bob cat in to be seen after our regular vet could not fit her in which actually was referred by our regular office.Experience was great and they took such great care of Peppers. She was released with meds, special foods and is doing so much betterStaff was wonderful to deal with, easy, understanding and loveable to our cat.We will be going for visits and taking our other animals for treatment. They were there for us through this time when noone else was and that says alot about character in my book! Thanks once again for being great at what you do❤
We recently had to make the heartbreaking decision to put down one of our senior dogs. While that couldnt be easy under any circumstances, the vets and staff at Atlantic Animal Hospital could not have been more kind and caring. They came to our home which made it more peaceful and the next day we received a delivery of a rose and sympathy card. When my husband took our other dog in for medication, we received another sympathy card signed by most of the staff. So compassionate and very appreciated!
Been taking my pets to Atlantic Animal Hospital for the last 15 years. Love all the vets and the office staff. Vets you can trust and they care about your beloved pet.
I have two cats and one dog who are followed and treated at Atlantic Animal Hospital. They all receive thorough and thoughtful care! The exam rooms are spotless and the waiting area is nice; they even offer client treats. All the employees are nice and the vets are tops. M only concern is that my dog was placed on a special diet for allergies and, after following the directions on the package, she gained five pounds over six months--about 1/5 her regular body weight. I thought the issue was mostly due to her breed (beagle) as they tend to gain weight easily. When I expressed concern about her weight and food intake, a tech indicated they dont recommend following the package instructions. While my dogs allergies are much better, I wish someone had cautioned me about the portion size for the special food as I now have a plump dog. Still, Id never switch vets as Im confident in the care my pets receive.
Hate to compare but In my travels I have experienced Vet care that just didnt seem right from the way they talked to pet owners and pets or the way they roughly handled my pets. I could tell that made them afraid of simple things like qtips in the ears or the fecal exams when they never were anxious like that before. So after traveling receiving not the best care we appreciate Atlantic Animal Hospital even more!About 10 years ago Atlantic cared for my yorkie Fancy now my daughter has a 4 yr old Maltese named West and I have a 1 yr old Frenchie named Lola who have no complaints! If you have a pet language with your fur babies you can just tell they like this care better! They recently did the food allergy test for Lola and figured out the best food for her to remedy major issues she was having from being put on the wrong foods in the past. A Frenchie on the wrong food can mean loss of fur, skin rashes, vomiting, and worse. The report revealed she is allergic to almost all proteins and dairy. She is truly a happy camper now and has all of her fur back since she has received the proper treatment and food! We just love this place!
Fisher was groomed at Atlantic by Anna and he looked fabulous when I picked him up! He was treated well and I like the fact that they make sure every animal is up to date on all vaccinations as well as having a flu shot. I was not worried about him being around other animals and getting sick due to this. I recommend them 110%! Thank you for taking such good care of him!
Wonderful! I called on a Saturday since they were one of the only places open... I told the sweet lady on the phone some symptoms I was experiencing with my dog and asked if I should bring him in. She offered me an appointment that day. I was checked in quickly and the vet was ready right at my appointment time. All of the staff was so friendly and the vet made sure to check with me before performing any x-rays or things that would cost extra. She gave him a very thorough exam and was able to pinpoint the problem quickly. It was a bit pricey, but Im guessing that was from the x-rays, and as other reviewers mentioned.. ALL vets are going to be pricey. Will be switching my pup over to Atlantic permanently as its been my best vet experience in Wilmington. Thank you, ladies! :)
My little King Charles Cavalier, Maggie, required some difficult surgery in her throat. Atlantic Animal Hospitals Karessa Schaefer, DVM, found a vet surgeon who performed the procedures at AAH facilities with great results. This is a wonderful petcare center for any city: great facilities, great vets, and compassionate staff.
The doctors and staff are amazing. It not only looks clean..... it smells clean in the building also. We have been going to Atlantic for about 7 years with Sadie ( 8.5 years old from Louisville Human Society) our lady boxer who we just found out has T-cell lymphoma. We are laying out a plan for her health care and wouldnt trust anyone but Atlantic (Dr, Parrish). Dr. Parrish also treated our sly boy boxer, Clyde ( 6 year old we think was from Carolina Boxer Rescue) with his treat of heart worms and mast cell cancer. We are forever grateful for their amazing bedside manners and expert care. I know they truly care about our pets.I recommend them to everyone I know with a fur family member.
We are very pleased with the care both our dogs get from Atlantic Animal Hospital. Hours are convenient, they answer their email quickly, and are always able to get our dogs in at last minute if necessary. Staff is professional, polite, and very customer oriented. It is very obvious these folks truly care about animals and their owners. Would highly recommend this practice.
I love this vet office. I have a chihuahua and the doctors are very professional and the techs attentive. I have never had a problem, butrecommend that if you do to speak to someone in charge. If youcontinue to have a problem go to another vet.Receptionist should be professional and friendly; make you feel welcomeand be helpful also.
I take my pup here for doggy day care (and his vet needs as well) and the staff is amazing! My puppy was scared of everything when I first got him and I was nervous leaving him in a new place (but I hated leaving him alone all day since I work full time) but they made me extremely comfortable with my decision to take him there. They explained his daybto day and he gets SO EXCITED when we pull in the parking lot! It’s also very convenient because I work on Sir Tyler drive as well! I will definitely be recommending their services to all my fur baby Mom friends!
My pup wasnt feeling too hot all week and when it came to the morning I knew I had to call. The staff had no problem with trying to squeeze her in. Between having an immediate open appointment, drop off service, or a perfect window of time to walk in, they saw us the same day and we walked out satisfied without taking a toll on my pocket. We have been going there for 3 years now and I have to say I cant imagine anywhere else we would take our Ruby girl! Thank you to the Vets, Vet Techs, and all the important staff members that take extra strides to ensure the 4-legged family members are taken care of no matter what!
Dr. Joplin is the most amazing doctor weve seen. He is extremely empathetic and caring, very down to earth, and seems to truly wamt the best for our pets. He helped with the last couple weeks of one of our dogs life and was extremely helpful. He is very knowledgeable as well as far as the medical conditions go and the best medications. Thank you Dr. Joplin and the kind staff and Atlantic.
These people literally saved my dogs life. I had been taking my dog here for the past year and they always remembered both him (Levi) and I. When they say they treat your pets like family, they really do. I recently had to take him in for some emergency surgery and they did a phenomenal job. I dont feel like he wouldve made it somewhere else. They dedicated hours upon hours of time and attention that he really needed to make it. Even a few staff members I had not met yet were completely knowledgeable of who he was and his condition. Id go in and say I was there to see Levi and they all knew who he was and his situation. They really love what they do. As a first time dog owner I always have a bunch of questions on things and they are always there to listen and help. I would recommend this place to everyone! They will definitely take phenomenal care of your pets!
My little terrier Seamus has been going to Atlantic Animal Hospital for about three years, and we are thankful for the care that he receives there. When we first moved here, Seamus has severe allergic reactions to the environment. Atlantic Animal Hospital tested to see the specific plants and molds hes allergic to so that they could tailor shots for him. The allergy shots helped build up his resistance so that now all he needs is the occasional allergy pill during the worst of his allergy season. His well visits are always thorough, and he has received top care whenever hes fallen ill. He also loves to play at the day camp, and Atlantic Animal Hospital is our choice for boarding when we go on a non-dog-friendly trip. While were away, I know that he is being cared for and loved by the staff, gets to play in the yard, has a safe and comfortable place to sleep, and has veterinary care should he need it during his stay.
I absolutely love the care the vets and staff at Atlantic Animal provide. They truly show each animal love and care. I trust them fully with my pets and recommend to anyone and everyone in the area!
I have taken my animals to Atlantic Animal Hospital since 2001. The first time we attended a PAW Jam, Dr. Parish was there and greeted our dogs by name. WOW - what Vet remembers all of their patients names? The staff at Atlantic Animal Hospital have always given our animals compassionate, caring, professional care. I have an English Bulldog, and if you own one, or have known one, you understand the amount of care and Veternarian support they need. I would highly recommend Atlantic to anyone seeking quality care for their pets!
Atlantic Animal Hospital saved fur babies life! I woke up about 6 a.m. one morning to my male cat screaming. I was new to Wilmington and had never been to AAH or any other vets in the area before. I was able to get ahold of a teammember that early who told me to bring my baby in at 7 on the dot when their doors opened. My little guy had a urinary blockage. They took my little guy in for almost a week. They constantly kept me updated about his health. When it was time for him to come home, they made sure I was prepared for the next few weeks as he needed a new kind of food and I had to constantly watch him in the litter box. Thank you AAH!
The vets are great but they wont work with online pharmacies which charge a lot less than they do for the same med. Its a real hassle to get a script and have to mail it in...TOTALLY unnecessary. Nothing but a money grab on their part.
First of all, I have been bring both of my dogs to Atlantic Animal Hospital for the past two+ years. Ive never been disappointed. With that said, Id like to talk about my most recent visit. After having a horrible experience the previous night at another veterinary clinic, it was so nice coming to Roxys primary vet. I brought my 14 year old Shih-Tzu in since she was having consistent seizures and episodes. As a concerned pet owner, I was afraid that she might have a seizure that wouldnt be able to come back from. Having an episode about 15 minutes prior, as soon as I walked in they took her back to be examined. I was called into a room shortly after.Dr. Duffy was great right from the beginning. She had a very calming presence and I knew that Roxy was in good hands. They did a thorough examination, ran blood, and completed a few other tests. She thoroughly explained what was going on and what could be possibly causing the seizures. I decided that because of her age, I am just going to hopefully get the seizures under control and keep her comfortable for the time-being. She was super supportive of my decision and helped to make it possible. She prescribed a cocktail of medications and made sure I understand the dosing, side effects, how to administer, etc.It has been over 24 hours since her last episode so its safe to safe, Dr. Duffy and the wonderful at Atlantic Animal Hospital took care of my little girl and possibly saved her life. I am forever thankful!
Atlantic Animal Hospital took the most amazing care of our 12 year old Golden Retriever, Banks. We were not even established clients yet they were super accommodating to our emergent need for immediate, highly specific healthcare. Their customer service was phenomenal and we were treated like family. Everything from the facility to the care Banks received was nothing short of excellent. We interacted with multiple receptionists, veterinary technicians, and veterinarians yet they all knew who I was and remembered Banks name and who he was. All of our needs regarding care for our loved one were exceedingly fulfilled. We are extremely grateful for their service.
Ive been going to Atlantic Animal Hospital for years, and absolutely love it. This most recent appointment was wonderful, as Ally doesnt like to travel at all - especially to the vet. The mobile appointment was perfect, and made her (and me) more comfortable. Thank you!
I brought my very sick pup to this hospital and after a couple of different vets there tried to treat her without even reading her chart (even though she had been there the very day before) I thought I was having a nightmare. As she got sicker, I called the office and asked if I could please bring her in on emergency for an x-ray. An X-ray only please and they bring her in and give her a rectal exam. Do I have to say anything else?! Best part: the office manager refused to call me back and when I came in to discuss a week later, the staff told me she was busy, and then had left the office. UNPROFESSIONAL. RUDE. FILTHY. DOWNRIGHT SCARY.
I was very happy with the service and my dog seemed to have a good time. I really like the questions they ask about your dogs habits and feeding schedule when boarding. This makes me feel at ease knowing that my dog is in good and personalized care.
Our dog loves Atlantic! The staff is so friendly and the facility is very clean and convenient. The hours are flexible enough for my busy schedule. I am always able to get a last-minute appointment. Thank you Dr. Schaffer for the excellent care you give to Basil!
I believe that it is unusual that an individual can feel more comfortable with a pets care than with his own medical care. AAH gets one there! THE VETS AND THE TECHS ARE EXCELLENT. They show real care and concern for keeping a pet healthy and happy. I like the system that gives you a list of vaccines and shots that are due and I like the doggie day care facility and the boarding facility and process. No other location is necessary.
We are freshly moved from out of town and needed a place to groom our Havanese dog Tanner. Looked up reviews and found this place with good reviews. First time he was groomed everything seemed to go ok, price a little high but no big deal. Before his second appointment exactly one month later we were called because our groomer was going out of town and needed to postpone our visit for two weeks, no biggie. But when we picked Tanner up there was a 20$ de-matting fee added to our bill because it had been an extra two weeks since his last visit and he was extremely matted. When we asked why we were being charged extra when they were the ones that postponed his appointment we were told that the fee would be removed. Needless to say it hasnt and we have now received a second bill by mail for the 20$ now with an added late fee. I called today to inquire about this situation and was told by the groomer that she has had to spend an extra hour de-matting him both times shes groomed him. This is complete garbage, no groomer in two years has ever told us Tanner was matted, and we certainly have never been charged extra for an already overpriced service. These people have zero customer service ability and clearly have no interest in customer retention. I have asked for a call back from a supervisor but well see if it comes. Two things for sure we wont be paying this bogus charge, and we will certainly never be back to these people for service again.......
Dr. Joplin is awesome, he loves his patients and is willing to hear the owners concerns and issues and worries while reassuring you that he will do his best to get your pet well again. I tend to ramble about my guys and he listens without making me feel my questions are silly or not important.
My puppies have been taken care of at Atlantic Animal Hospital since They were 10 weeks. They love seeing the Dr., daycare and boarding. The staff are wonderful !!!
We love bringing our 2 pups here. They love the doctors and staff and they are treated with exceptional love and care. All around a great place!
The BEST pet care place in all of Wilmington !! Our vet is wonderful, caring, compassionate with my 2 orange kitties. We love this place and highly recommend it !!!!!!!!!!
I have used Atlantic Animal Hospital since they were in the Landfall Shopping Center. I have loved it from the beginning. The new hospital is wonderful. I have left sick pets in their hospital, once for 4 days and I was allowed to visit and spend time with her. They took excellent care of my dogs. The new groomer, Lori, is the best ever. Her smile alone is worth the visit, but the excellent job she does on my cocker is the best!Their puppy play is very convenient. On a few occasions I have gone out of town for the day and I can leave my dog there from 7 until 7 and I know shes being cared for, is happy, and completely, happily exhausted when I pick her up.I highly recommend them to you. Tell them Diane Britt sent you!
Atlantic Animal Hospital is a wonderful place to take your animal for all of their needs!! The hours are VERY convenient (late, early, weekends). The staff is so caring. And the location cannot be better as it is right across from Mayfaire. I only trust my pets in their very capable hands.
Wow... Atlantic Animal Hospital will be our vet from now on... Lylas vet was in Hampstead and we live in Wilmington and it was too far to take her there (especially in the state she was). On Friday, I called Atlantic as soon as they opened and they were able to get my poor Lyla in the same day! They were so helpful and answered any questions I had in regards to what was going on with her. They seemed like they really cared about how she was feeling and how to get her feeling better. Dr. Schaffer and Dr. Joplin were awesome! And so was the staff! Everyone was very nice and took really good care of Lyla! I also wanted to shoutout Kaitlin, its because of you that I want to bring Riggs, my pitbull to Atlantic. Its comforting to know that someone there has experience with pitbulls and will know how to react and not judge him. Thank you everyone :)
Dr. Joplin and fellow staff are wonderful! I trust the staff at Atlantic Animal Hospital to take care of my three dachshunds.
This is our 2nd experience with boarding of our dog, Beau, at Atlantic and we are very happy with the experience - and apparently Beau was very pleased during this recent stay as we received am e-mail photo and message from him!!!! From the initial reception to the e-mail from Beau to pick-up the experience was very good. We did have a mix-up on his departure date - our issue we believe - and the folks at Atlantic were very understanding and accommodating. When we visit Wilmington in the future, Beau will certainly board at this 5-Star accommodation!
Atlantic Animal Hospital changed the way we thought of our vet experience! We heard about them through a family friend when we were in need of a second opinion for our dog and after visiting once, never looked back! Dr. Parish has been an excellent vet for our ten year old lab and I feel that due to her guidance and care, he is as healthy as we could ever ask for. I would totally recommend Atlantic Animal Hospital to everyone! Thank you for coming to our rescue many years ago!
The customer service at this establishment is absolutely horrible. I have been taking my 11 lb havanese dog to be groomed every four weeks since he was a baby, he is three years old now. He is very well maintained at home and at the groomer. I was new to the Wilmington area and saw good reviews about this vet so I took my dog there for his first visit. At his very first grooming visit, I spent close to $100, when I asked about the high price, I was told that the groomer had to spend an hour dematting him. I was very shocked and said that I had not noticed any mats on him and that he is groomed monthly so I didnt see how this was possible but seeing that I was a new client I didnt want to argue, so I just paid the fee. I assumed that at my next visit, in 4 weeks, it would just be a normal grooming fee. I went ahead and scheduled his next appointment while I was there so I would not forget. The day before his grooming appointment I was called and notified that my groomer would be out of town and unable to keep his appointment. They pushed me out for an additional two weeks before they could bring him in. I still maintained/brushed his hair during this time to ensure that there was no matting. I took him in for his next grooming appointment, so he was being seen in six weeks instead of his usual four, I talked with the groomer then and said that I have been taking care of him as well as I could since she was out of town and had to postpone his appointment. Once again when it comes time to check out at the front desk I am being charged $100 again and Im being told that the groomer had to spend an hour dematting him because the damage and the matting of hair was so extensive. This is the most ridiculous claim I have ever heard. At this point I think it is just extremely shady that they are charging a bogus dematting fee every time my dog is brought in for a groom. I explained to the girl at the front desk that I was not going to be paying this fee because this is now the second time it has been charged and it is unwarranted. The girl at the front desk agreed with me that it was unreasonable and removed the charge from my ticket. I went ahead and scheduled his next appointment for 4 weeks out because even though I was disappointed that they tried to charge me for the matting fee again I was thankful that they took the charge off. About a week later I got a very nasty voicemail from the groomer herself trying to explain to me what horrible condition my dog was in and recommending that I have him completely shaved if Im not able to maintain his haircut at home and advising that if I ever brought him in again she would be charging extensive dematting fees every time because of how unkempt he was. About a week after that I received a letter in the mail for a $20 dematting charge that they are trying to backdate me for. A few days after that I received another bill in the mail where they have charged me the $20 dematting fee along with a new $3 late fee. Im very upset that they continue to harass me for this charge that I was told I would not be responsible for in the first place. When my husband called to ask questions about the matter and about the bills, the groomer told him that I was a liar and that my dog was unkempt and that there was no way anyone at that office would have told me I wouldnt have to pay the dematting fee. We are hoping to receive a call back from the supervisor but obviously at this point we will never be coming back to this location. I have actually scheduled him at Woof Gang groomers in Lumina Commons, he has already had two grooming appointments in the last two months and has done wonderful both times, and wouldnt you know, they havent tried to charge me a bogus dematting fee once. Im usually rather passive when it comes to putting up a fight over things like this, but the absolute lack of respect and rudeness of the staff at this hospital has completely blown me away. I think as a client I deserve better. We all do.
This should be called a Kennel. The level of care here is absurdly terrible. They are all about the money and no quality
Great place for your dog. Great care and loving staff. Highly recommended. You will not be disappointed.
Staff are super friendly and caring. Everybody is excited to see my pup when I bring him in. I bring my dog for both daycare and vet care; both services are great. They accommodate busy work schedules and prices are reasonable.
Been going here for several years and always had a positive experience. Recently fit us in same day for heart worm testing and meds and we were in/out very quick
I booked an appointment for my cat. When I arrived on time I was told that the appointment was never written down or put in the system. They acted like it was my fault that they made a mistake. If you can’t be bothered to write down an appointment then I’m not gonna trust you with my animal. Never coming back
We have been going to Atlantic for three years now. The doctors are great - patient, available, and caring. Our older dog was well cared for here and now our new puppy is too!Our puppy loves the doggie daycare! He is so excited to go and happy when I pick him up after a day of play!
BELLA loves going to day care, and she always kisses the staff. Excellent facility.Thank you for such great care. 🐶💝
I had an issue with my dog and the doctor just prescribed meds with out really treating the issue... including a steroid that made my pup go all over my house and charge me $120... i didnt realize the poor vet care for my dog until I switched to a different doctor. Atlantic is WAY overpriced...With regards to your reply to this review....there was never a communication about my dogs treatment plan that I was pleased about. The last time I called the office was with regards to the steroid.
Staff appreciates my pets needs. Nice job taking care of him
Great practice! Very friendly and very professional! Weve been taking our pets to AAHPCR for more than 10 years. The doctors and staff care about and are knowledgable regarding pet care--puppyhood through end of life concerns. We love this place! Thank you
Took good care of my cat, caring and gentle with her. Now waiting to adopt one of the Care cats, taking a long time to have interview.
3/3 Bad boarding experiences. My cute little sweet purebread dog was boarded there after friends recommended. Beware! First time, dog returned to me with large poo-poo stuck yo butt that he was clearing sitting on in crate. Do they ever walk the dogs? Second time he came home limping and licking paw for a whole week. Third time I got call he “got into large dog area” my dog is not the smartest, so careless workers let that happen. He left with a few scabs.
Very friendly staff. Made sure client and pet we comfortable. Clean area. They let each cat (on their own) out of kennel to run around. And they found our kitty has gingevitus, that no one else diagnosed. I highly recommend Atlantic animal hospitsl, and will definitely use again.
Stay Away from this place!! THEY STARVED OUR DOGS! I wonder how many others they did this to.Had our 2 at Atlantic boarding for 7 days. When we picked them they were very nice and helped us bring the dog beds and other items we brought for their stay to our car. Because of that I didnt realize that they had only fed our dogs 19 of the 28 bags of pre measured food that we provided them. When we got the dogs home we did notice that they had lost quite a bit of weight but thought they must having been playing really hard all day. I am so furious that we trusted you to take care of our precious animals and you did this. I would avoid these place at all costs! We also had our dogs groomed there. Which was really not very good. I plan to do everything I can to make people aware of what horrible care you took of our animals. You should have criminal charges brought against. I do intend to make that complaint. If possible I will do my best to see that someone responsible in your company gets to see the inside of a cozy home on BlueClay road for a period of time.Seems like were on a hurry as they missed a few places. Only got half of the one of their bellies completed. Also as many other reviewers had noted they will charge you for items that you never request or authorized. Beware!! Our pups are our children so we thought we were taking them to the best, clearly it is not. If I could give them a negative star I would.
Awesome place. Very attentive and caring.
They don’t deal with online pharmacies so they can charge you double.
I would not recommend this place to anyone in the Wilmington area! Me and my girlfriend took our shorkie here for about 2 months. After which they informed us the would need to give the dog a flu vaccination. They informed me that it would be a simple 17 dollar charge. I agreed to 17 dollar charge as my dog was already there and I was at work. When I went to pick my dog up I was informed that we owed them over 100 dollars for the day of day care/flu vaccination. The day care cost is 20 dollars and vaccination was 17. The rest was a exam fee which we did not consent. We later found out they actually only weighed her and no exam was performed. Either way it was a vet tech and not even the Veternarian that did this. We NEVER consented to the additional charges nor were we informed. When I approached the vet tech at the time of check out she was a complete jerk and would not listen to myself as a customer that was concerned. My dog has not been back to this place. I also told the vet tech I would not pay the charges that I never consented to. There are plenty of other places in Wilmington that will treat you and your pet with the respect you deserve. Do yourself a favor and do not use this place to take your pet.
Dr. Jaoblin was amazing with our puppy when we found out she had parvo. He was very concerned and loving. Two weeks later our older cat decided he needed some attention and Dr. Duffy came to the rescue with two snake bites! All the kids are live and well now! We found our fur-ever doctors!
The veterinary care that our cat received yesterday was excellent. We appreciated the doctor’s professionalism and expertise.
Being new to NC, I chose Atlantic Animal Hospital from the online reviews. The reviews were spot on! Professional & caring team, clean facility, and no unnecessary procedures. Very glad to have found them.
My husband and I brought our dog for her first visit to Atlantic Animal Hospital & Pet Care resort and we are now looking forward to bringing our other 3 animals for their check ups. Having recently moved to Wilmington we had many choices to choose from for our pet care. After reading reviews and doing a little research I chose this facility and I am so glad we did.Our dog Lacey adopted us to be her family. She is a little leery around strangers however the assistant Michelle and the vet we saw, Dr. Rohrer were absolutely wonderful. They treated her with affection and talked to her as if she was their dog. The snacks they gave her probably helped too. :-)If youre searching for a great facility that offers everything you could possibly need for your pet, choose this facility, youll be glad you did. I know I am!
Fritz loves Atlantic Animal. Hes a 62 lb red Border Collie. He likes going to the Vet. He likes the people there. He likes Dog Play. He likes getting a bath. Fritz just likes everything about Atlantic Animal.
The employees and veterinarians at Atlantic have been great to work with for 10+ years. Additionally, they have great business hours and are always open when I need something.
Both my dogs get great care and boarding them there has always been great. The fermentation bath is not worth the extra price both dogs came home shedding more hair than when they went in.
The staff is very friendly and seem to enjoy Prissy. The only problem I had was Prissy seems to had her water with held, she has UTI infection.
Atlantic Animal Hospital has the most wonderful groomer! Kyle is very talented and caring. He does an excellent job!
Dr. Chad was very helpful with my Katie, she has issues and he was understanding and helpful withme and Katie. Thank you!
One year ago today, my husband rushed with our wirehaired dachshund to Atlantic Animal Hospital after Waylon was severely attacked by a pit bull during a normal walk. Roger said that Dr. Laurie Parish and at least 4 staff members, someone with syringe in hand, were waiting at the door to meet him and immediately set to work as first providers like a well-oiled machine. Waylon was sedated, stabilized, and prepped in the best way possible for transport to Eastern Carolina Veterinary Referral and Trauma Center. The deep compound fracture of Waylons left foreleg, and severe gashes to his side threatened the loss of his leg, but two surgeries and lots of therapy later, Waylon is successfully using his leg with only the slightest limp when he is tired. We are ever grateful for the expertise of Dr Parish and the entire staff as Waylons first caregivers on that horrible day.
My dog loves the daycare. Always seems excited to go. Staff is friendly. Cant comment on the vet services.
I took my dogs here for years until my Cavalier was kenneled for a week while on vacation and I sent my inlaws to pick her up and they sent home the wrong dog with my inlaws My inlaws had only seen my dog a few times so they were not as familiar with her. They realized this when they got home and the dog was acting terrified and totally not like my dog. They had to drive 30 minutes back there to get the correct dog. Thankfully the dog did not take off from here when they got home. When I called Atlantic to ask what happened they just confirmed that there was another Cavalie(male) that looked like my dog which is a female I told them to make sure they told the owner of the other dog what had happened, but I will never know. All they said was sorry and never offered anything, like it was no big deal. They scanned my dogs chip when my inlaws went back to make sure. Why are they not doing this everytime??? The office manager never even called me later to apoligize for sending the wrong dog home. Today I went to pick up my mothers dogs that had been kenneled all week. I called this morning and told them to please bathe them and the notes say it as well. I picked them up several hours later and they are not bathed. This is exactly why I am so glad I changed vets and am very happy with that change. The new vet does not charge for unnecessary shots also. I never do reviews but I feel like people need to be aware of this and feel secure when you drop your pet off that they are in good hands.
Very caring ......... awesome customer service... clean... and the staff is excellent....highly recommend you all...
I am extremely pleased with the great treatment both Burgy and Kayla have received at your hands.Burgy got really sick in June with a very bad bacterial infection. After the first round of medicine did not seem to help, you sent him for an ultrasound. Hearing this I cut a trip short and drove back from St. Louis immediately. This little buddy is 13 and has been with me since he was 8 weeks old. Thank God it was not more that the bacterial infection and with all your help, he is doing much better.I have been with you for the two years we have been here and cant be more pleased with the care you have given my dogs. You can always count on us to be among your best supporters.
