Last minute rental departing for Memorial Day. Rented online quickly, picked up car just before they closed. 5 minute walk to the car from the reservation desk, the only bad thing i didnt like about the car is it had a strong distinct smell. Since i picked up just as they were closing i couldnt go back to complain, so i told the drop off agent and everything was good. Car still had a distinct smell when i dropped it off 18 hours later but couldnt find the source.
Understaffed, but a very pleasant and most helpful clerk. Pickup of vehicle was a difficult trek to the pickup point, since I am disabled.

I always have to wait more than a week to get my security deposit back and its always Budget that is holding my deposit. I have to chat repeatedly and/or wait 3 wks after returning a vehicle for my $250 which is ridiculous (Im stuck renting until I purchase another vehicle and theyre the cheapest when using my discounts from work) otherwise Id rent elsewhere. Some vehicles basic maintenance isnt handled (tire pressure off, in need of oil changes or tire balancing) prior to vehicles being rented out. The employees I deal with on a regular are friendly so theyre not the issue. Ive also had unauthorized charges on my card which I had to fight to get corrected; I had a rental where I was repeatedly being charged for tolls I wasnt taking and my husband was charged with iPhone charges we would never order since we are Android users.
My rental was stolen on march 30 2021 and when i spoke to avis budget representative she made me feel like it was my fault the car was stolen .
Two stars because the cleanness and good model of the rental. Customer services the worst. Like other people commented here, they put an amount of gas in my rental contract that wasn’t accurate by the time of picking up. Then there’s no staff there for you to ask about it. They did try to charge me a full tank because the contract said it was full and it wasn’t. Not recommended this location or the company itself until I get a good customer service apology at the least.
This was the worst experience, I hope to never rent a car from Budget again. The first car I received smelled like smoke and the key was broken. I returned that car and received another vehicle with a flat tire. I had to go back into the service desk and ask for a new vehicle. When I received the last vehicle there were warning lights on the dash alerting that the vehicle needed service on the engine. I had to drive the car anyway because I was late for something important. Furthermore, this car was not cleaned. Horrible experience all the way around! I returned my car the same day and it was not checked in until 2:30 pm the next day.

Too many problems when renting a vehicle you shouldnt have to worry about maintenance on the vehicle you should feel safe at all times I have not I best repeatedly about swapping my vehicle because of different maintenance issues and Im still riding in the same vehicle SMH
I picked a car from the site and it said it was available and ready for pick up. When I got to the place, the guy working just said Were all out for the day. I saw the same exact car out there in the lot, but for some reason it wasnt available. He also said we print a list in the morning and if you arent on there, you dont get a rental. You mean to tell me you cant rent to someone that reserved online the same day? The guy had not a care in the world, no pointing toward the closest location, just nope. Luckily, I found that the Wilmington airport also had a budget, and it was the exact opposite experience. The girl working was fast, courteous, and to the point. I was driving out of there in 10 minutes.
I didnt like the way that the charges are made. I was told that even if I had a hold put on my credit card, I could have the charges taken out of my debit card when I return the car Both of my cards were charged to close out the account, even though I didnt have enough on my credit card, but had the full amount on my debit card.
I had a much better costumer service experience at the new castle air port than I did at the train station in Wilmington. The front desk procedures we different but other than that I would definitely rent again. I just won’t wait to last so I can hopefully get it from the airport.

I was given an upgrade because there were no compact cars available- no complaint there. However, it seems the renter before me smoked because the odor was still in the car. The car had black scratches in the front; yet it was a great car to drive. They should have more agents helping customers at the counter. In my case, the wait was too long .. over 20 minutes.
They are great to rent from if you order one car they up grade to athe next car if they dont have what you ordered. Great customer service from the women to men just great.

All this complaining I feel like some people do is crazy to me. I’ve had a wonderful experience the last two months, the woman at the front desk is awesome and she provides me with a world class experience every time! My favorite Budget location. Very accommodating.
Stephanie was awesome. I had an amazing experience with her. One downside to this location is that the pick up site is across two busy streets. I am disabled and use a wheelchair so it was very inconvenient to have to load back up to go pick up the rental vehicle. Other than that, I had an amazing experience with Budget & will rent with them again each time I return to Wilmington.
I prefer to go to the train station in Wilmington, DE to pick up my vehicle. The vehicle are always clean and suitable for me to drive since I am a tall person. The lady who waits on me knows what I need, and usually I get a Dodge Journey which is comfortable to drive . Other rental agencies tend to get me into something that is small and uncomfortable.
My train was running late. Supposed to get in at 12:50 and arrived at 2:05. I had called Budget to tell them I would be arriving late and please wait for me. They put in my record. This was Sunday and they were to close at 2. I arrived at their door at 2:07 and it was locked and dark. If they had stayed 5 minutes, it would have been great customer service. Rent at Enterptise instead. They have great customer service.
I picked the car up with half a tank of gas, The pink slip said full. I waited around in lot to confront someone but no employees where around. There were also deep scratches on driver door of the car. I took pictures. I got back on time and I reported this to the lady at the counter but she said she did not want to here it. Im reporting this to The Better Business Bureau and local newspaper.People should be made aware of the goings on at this location.I expect to be contacted.

Id like to start off by saying the woman behind the counter was extremely kind and polite, although not exactly apologetic. However, we had a confirmation for a reservation of a truck rental. We immediately noticed a problem when we pulled in and there werent any trucks. Our reservation number and name werent in the system, they NEVER have any trucks, and there was nothing she could do for us. Oh, and their phone number was listed wrong on the confirmation, which was why we couldnt contact her when we called to confirm. We rented from the UHaul down the street a bit, no issues, but a bit more expensive than the price Budget quoted us. We went online to complain/cancel our reservation and it said it wasnt available and if we wanted help we had to call. We decided to drop it. We were busy moving furniture from my late grandmothers house. Fast forward a few days and Budget CHARGED US $50 FOR BEING A NO-SHOW. The number on the confirmation was not the number we needed, there is apparently a specific truck rental customer service number that is not the number listed on their website (that number is not in service), and after being disconnected three times our money was finally refunded. Ridiculous that they would have the audacity not only to rent a truck they knew would never be there but then charge us for not picking up said truck when we drove an hour and a half out of the way to do so. (It was the closest available truck from any reasonably priced truck rental.)

Split location. It wouldve been nice to know that the cars are kept off property and I would have to cross two busy streets with my luggage to get to it. It wouldve been nice to know where to go to check in in the first place! I walked to the location with the Lit Budget sign, only to be told to walk back to the train station and then from there wasnt back to the lot. The staff was ok friendly at best. Not really interested in making the experience any better for anyone. When I went to return my vehicle, a gentleman in a t shirt and shorts walked up to the car asking me if Im returning. I had no idea he worked there. For all I knew he was a customer too. Maybe he should have a uniform or name tag or something? Overall this rental experience was just not good. Inconvenient unfriendly, unprofessional. I travel consistently for work and always book with another company, I regret not following my instincts.
Their robbing customers for gas and when you call for an explanation the breakdown is confusing.. I’ll stick with enterprise where there isn’t any hidden fees and the contract is pretty clear
I have had very good experiences renting with Budget. My car rental was for the weekend of March 26, 2016. As usual my counter experience was very good, paperwork and keys were ready and my wait time was very short. However, this time my rental car had not been properly cleaned upon pickup.
Rented a car from Budget as I seen in a previous review would have been nice to be informed that the cars are in a separate location from where you go confirm your reservation but the car ran smooth was good on gas and nice and clean when I picked it up would have been nice if GPS was free 😁 I’ll rate this 4 out of 5 just because I had to cross a busy street to get to the car.
Helpful, friendly staff and the facility was open on Sunday when I needed it. Good and clean cars to choose from. Not the cheapest rate to choose, but all in all a great experience with a good company. I would recommend them to others.

The staff here is always accommodating, friendly, and ready. I rent several times a month and have been doing so for several years now and I have never had an issue or problem. When the train Im on has been delayed past closing hours, they have stayed late to meet me or made arrangements to leave keys with the Amtrak staff. Love these folks!

I called 1 hour before they closed asking if they could wait 10 minutes until I arrived to rent a car. They close at 4 and I arrived at 4:10 by bus, so she just had to wait 10 minutes for me. The very unfriendly lady told me that they closed at 3:45 and she couldn’t wait, when her schedule is until 4 PM
The staff was friendly and fast. The truck was filthy(smelled like sweat, marijuana, and stale cigarette. It looked like it hasnt been cleaned in a month. Ordered a hand truck and furniture blanket and I wasnt informed damn woman any and trucks until I went to the location to pick up the vehicle and I was still charged for it.
