Ever since I discovered Tad’s few years ago when they were across from Long Leaf mall I’ve not been to another barber shop, nor do I want to! Today completed the cycle of having all the Thomas family members cut my hair. Now I ain’t no Fabio but if they can make this old 50cents head look like a hundred bucks then that’s saying something!! I love this place !!

Awesome barber shop. Super friendly, good prices, and a very diverse staff and clientele. I usually get my hair cut by Bradley and he does an awesome job, but I’ve never had a bad cut by anyone else in there. Highly recommended!

Five stars doesnt seem to be enough to describe the kind and caring people that own and work at Tads Barbershop. In early December 2020, my father was released from the hospital under hospice care at home. We were told we may have him with us until Christmas. As we were getting him home and settled, he mentioned numerous times that he would like a good shave. He had grown quite the beard during his 12 day hospital stay! He reflected on how wonderful the hot shave was that he had received at Tads months prior and asked if anyone in the family knew how to give one. We of course did not! I decided to call Tads and see if anyone would be willing to come out and make a house call. Within 20 minutes of making the call, Tad Jr. was at my parents house giving my dad that shave! He treated my dad with the most amazing dignity and was so kind and gentle. It meant not only the world to my dad, it meant so much to my entire family as we truly did not know how much time he had left. Well, fast forward 6 months and my Dad is still with us and has even been back to Tads for another shave in person!! The fact that he survived was a miracle and we truly believe it was little God winks like Tad Jr. coming out to the house that gave him the strength to want to heal and recover. Tads Barbershop is truly a gem that I cant say enough good things about. They truly go above and beyond. Thank you Tads!!

This place was incredible! 5 star service all the way. Fast and friendly. They are great with kids and pay close attention to detail. Also, great vibe and professional staff. We are now customers for life.

Tim at Tad’s Barbershop is an excellent barber. Good with kids and adults. Extremely proficient at his craft. In fact all of the barbers were nice and helpful. Not being from this area, I was referred by another stylist, and I couldn’t be more please with the results. If you’re getting haircuts somewhere else, you are making a mistake every time you do. My son got a horrible haircut, so I took him to Tads to get it corrected. They were so kind to my son and made him feel so comfortable. His haircut was perfect. We will never go to another barber

We loved Tads up until this past Monday. My son got his haircut by a barber that he had never gone to before. He normally goes to Pho or Hancock, (who are amazing and ALWAYS do a great job) but it was super busy with back to school haircuts, so we went to the 1st available. We showed the stylist a photo of what my son wanted. He got close-ish to the photo, but when I questioned whether or not it should be shorter on the sides and thinner in the back, he just said I cut it like the photo. He was very dismissive and seemed annoyed that I was questioning his cut. So I didnt argue with him. I ended up taking my son to another hair dresser yesterday and she cut it exactly like the photo. Im bummed we had a poor experience there and even more bummed I had to shell out for two haircuts!!

Everyone is so friendly, and they can cut any style you want at any age! My kids love to go to Tads! Its so nice to have a real barbershop here in Wilmington!

Ive been going to Tads for a little over a year now. Usually every 2 months. I will never go to another barber unless I end up leaving the city. The way they have me feeling after I walk out that door with a nice hard part and trim up and some product makes me feel like a million bucks. Tad Sr is super down to earth and a really straightforward no nonsense kind of guy. He was the first one to cut my hair. His son cut it once as well and I learned first hand the apple doesnt fall far from the tree. The environment, the smells, the ball busting, it all makes you feel like youre in an authentic older barber shop and not some shitbox clips of the sport or great variety. Keep up the good work guys. I walked in to get 3 years worth of hair chopped and was hooked up by the man himself. Waited like 5 minutes. He kept a regular of his waiting to take his time to make sure I was not disappointed.

My man Wilkes gave me the best haircut I’ve ever had. Genuinely a great guy too 10/10 experience.

Best haircut and beard line up in Wilmington.

I came here to get my hair cut as it was just starting to touch my shoulders. When it was my turn I showed the guy a picture of older haircut when I first got it and he said no problem. He cut my hair about 3 inches past where I wanted it cut but I guess it will grow back, the fades are tight tho.

Nothing like a well completed flat top. Great shop, clean, organized. Hot towel after neck shave is key!!

Always a great haircut experience at Tads Barbershop. I have lived in the Wilmington area since 2012 and there is nobody else that I would let cut my hair. Tad is beyond professional which also carries over to all of his barbers. They are all superb and the diversity of this shop gives our community the ability to get any type of haircut in a safe, friendly and professional atmosphere. If you are looking for a new barber, look no further because you will love this place. Glad to hear that the Tad is also expanding soon with a new location in Leland to better serve our area.

Great place to get a great hair cut. I have been going to them for years. They recently rose the price of a hair cut to $20. Which is still a good price for the quality of cut. I always gave them a 20 for the cut and a tip since I always had a 20. Now I have to remember to bring more for a tip. Good guys. Keep up the good work.

Best Barber in town, bar none. Have had my hair cut by a number of their barbers and they are all very skilled in their craft and hold themselves to a very high standard. The prices are very affordable. There are plenty of places where you would pay two to three times more for a haircut of similar quality.

I have been taking my 2 year old here for the last year and they have been so patient and sweet with him every single time! I highly recommend this barber shop!!

This is the best barbershop hands down in the Wilmington area. The guys are extremely friendly and their skills are top notch. One of the few places that still know how to use a straight razor. I have been going to Tads for years and will continue to do so. You are missing out if you dont go to Tads.

Good haircut but they did not take COVID seriously at all. Less than half of the barbers were wearing masks which made me feel very unsafe. Customers not wearing masks is one thing but staff not wearing masks is inexcusable (and Im pretty sure against the law). I will not go here again, at least not until COVID is over.

Highly recommended. Great quality and professional cut. I prefer Hancock but all the Barbers are top notch. They are cash only but have ATM in the shop.

This is couple dollars more than supercuts or whatever other chain place and phenomenally better quality. Tad himself cut my hair and it was a great experience. Hot shave on neck, etc. Worth way more than I paid.

Great old school barber shop! Id forgotten how much detail a true barber pays attention to detail compared to a quick cut style haircut shop. For example this barber shop haircut includes a straight razor shave of the rear neck and ear lines. I use Kendall as my Barber but Tad Sr Tad Jr are also great.

I could not find a quality haircut in town to save my life! So I posted in a Wilmington group on facebook. Tads was recommended by about 75% of the people on the post of about 500 comments lol So I knew they were who I had to try. Surely Tads didnt disappoint! They cover the board! Phenomenal Haircuts! Great atmosphere! Awesome attitude! Very clean!At an affordable rate. Just as they were recommended to me so highly, I will highly recommend to everybody else!!

Word of mouth led me into the door. Was not sure how the system worked so I just sat down and waited. 5 minutes later I was on my way to one of the best haircuts I have had. It was buzzing with people but it seems like because of the number of guys working, they cover plenty of ground. Nice shop. Great cuts. AND affordable! Thank you guys!!!

Best barbershop in town. I’ve been taking my family here for the past two years. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. The service is fantastic and the barbers all do great work. Yes, you may have to wait for a haircut, but it’s worth it and the line moves fast. Sad to see reviews about skipping...maybe we should all take a breath and relax and enjoy life more and maybe slow down. It’s an experience worth waiting for and the haircuts are hands down better than anything else around. 5 star business for sure! Thanks Tad and Team! Great Work!

We moved here a few years ago and every place we went could bot cut my sons hair ( he has mixed hair ) and we went here and my son is in love!!! They did a wonderful job they have many barbers on staff and my son ( whose 9 ) has proclaimed that this is his barber from now on! They even gave him a lollipop after his cut. Such an amazing team and when 1 barber said they could cut his hair the right way they had a barber there who could. I cant tell you how in love I am with this place as is my son! We will continue to go here for as long as they are open!

Best cut I’ve ever had! Phu took his time and made me look sharper than I ever thought I could. Normal, fair prices. Barber’s were very welcoming and I was able to walk in and sit right down in a barber’s chair. I doubt I’ll ever go anywhere else to get my hair cut as long as I’m within driving distance. Ive had 5 different barbers there and they are all great. With 8 chairs, turnover is great and you dont ever feel rushed in the chair. Highly recommend this barber shop.

Tads is hands-down THE place in Wilmington for a haircut. From todays manly man to the shy little fella, every barber at Tads goes above and beyond.

Just visiting Wilmington for a wedding and was recommended Tad’s. Tad did an awesome job, and for a college kid the price was easily worth it. If I ever come back and am in need of a haircut I’ll be back for sure!

Old school style mens barber shop that offers razor fades and shaves . Ive been a few times and have had a different barber each time, with all good experiences. Dont be put off by a full parking lot, because they have several barbers working everyday, and they move through the line of people quickly. Remember to bring cash though because most of the barbers do not take credit or check.

In town for a wedding from Kansas. Got a straight razor shave from Tad. It was super relaxing, and Tad was a super nice guy. Whole business is clean, and professional. Definitely would recommend.

I have been living in Wilmington for 7 months. And every Saturday for the past 7 months I go and get a hair cut at Tads Barber shop. There is not appointments it’s first come first serve. That’s never typically an issue for me because Saturdays I have plenty of free time. However today I showed up at 1:20 and waited and watched as 6 people that arrived well after I did had gotten cuts before me. I was there for an hour at least which would have been fine if it hadn’t already been my turn to go. It’s unfortunate because most of the guys that cut there are awesome. I doubt I’ll be returning. Definitely need to establish a better system of keeping track of your customers.
