The dealership had recommended brakes and rotors to be replaced a year ago.Since they were not giving me any “warning” signs, I said I would wait until I had some warning signs because they told me they had to replace brake pads and rotors (front and back) regardless of looking at rotors. They “always replace rotors and brake pads together.”Several months later, I started to get the brake warning and a friend recommended PAS. I setup an appointment for brake inspection and they only had to replace front set. Saved me several hundred dollars and brakes were not replaced prematurely, giving me more life to the ones I had.Very courteous and helpful staff from first call to pickup.Follow up contact was nice and certainly interested in returning for service/repairs.

We got specialized service for our Mercedes E320 that was very “handle with care or the problem could get way worse” and they aced it—avoided the big, worst case scenario issue entirely, helped us keep it in budget, and (almost as important) got it done with my scheduling and travel needs in mind. All while short-staffed, and were as polite as can be, too. This was in addition to other work on the car, all of which was done well and with attention to the details, at a reasonable price. Our vehicle had an auxiliary battery malfunction which required immediate attention. Chris at PAS was extremely helpful scheduling us in for a diagnosis. Chris kept us informed throughout the afternoon regarding their progress, even though they were very busy. The tech quickly diagnosed the issues, performed the repairs and reset all of the electronic systems. We had our car back in just a few hours, and running great. I was tired of getting service done at the dealer. A close friend recommended this place. I always heard it was better to find an independent shop that specializes in German cars. I drove 2 hours each way to have them do my 40k mile transmission service and now I know where to come for anything else I may need. The staff is knowledgeable and courteous. They answer the phones, unlike my dealer. I’m sure I saved money by going here, but I couldn’t even get the price quoted from my dealer. If you live in Eastern NC and need a good mechanic for your German car, this is the best place I have found.

AMAZING! I have no bad words to say about this place! Wasnt sure what was wrong with my car, but I knew something was up. A valve cover was leaking onto the alternator causing issues, needed my alternator replaced, new brake pads, and had a nail in my tire I was unaware of. Thursday afternoon they diagnostic and Friday after noon I had my car back! Chris was even nice enough to stay past close to ensure I picked up my car. They contacted my everyday to let me know what was going on and I even had to approve everything before they started working on it. My 2010 Toyota Tundra had an electrical issue that was causing it to run bad, with non-stop codes popping up. I had taken it to another local shop-who HAD IT FOR OVER 2 MONTHS!! And never figured it out. So I had it TOWED from that one over to Performance Auto Specialists and they started systematically looking for the problem (the codes didn’t say what exactly it was) and they found and fixed it in record time. It took them more than a year to fix a check engine light. I trusted that they would just fix the car, instead they added several unnecessary repairs telling me that it would fix the problem. It didnt. I cant recommend a company that lies to their customers and treats women like they are too dumb to know any better.

Excellent and trustworthy service.We have had my wifes GLK serviced here before, so no hesitation to bring it back to PAS for an all around (4 wheel) suspension and brake replacement.-Before committing to the service and dropping the car off, Chris supplied a very detailed breakdown of potential costs, including part numbers so I knew the quality of what they would install.-The appointment was made, the car was dropped off. Once they started, Chris called to let me know what was not needed (rear discs) and what was additionally needed, front strut mounts. No feeling of up selling here, just what you need to have the work done right. Then, true to their word, the car was ready as scheduled.-The true test of how they did? Not even halfway home, my wife who Im following home, called me to tell me how much this 10 year old GLK drives like new. Shes happy with her decision on not trading it in.I could have had this work done anywhere. Having quality parts, honest experts in service, and better than best customer service, makes PAS stand apart from the others.

The car was not taken care of and this company charged TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS for NOT fixing the car, the company needs to be sued and we will make sure it happens.

I am from New Jersey, so when I read a review from a New Jersey client, I was all in. I spoke with my brother about the shop but he insisted that I first visit a shop that he felt would be a good shop. It turn out to be the same shop, we both laugh. Chris repaired my Toyota Avalon 2006 and the price was cheaper than the price I received from another repair shop. I call yesterday and made an appointment for today to find the source of a rough belt sound and of course, the wet roads this morning made the noise go away. The technician was confident it was the belt and not one of the belt wheels. My 05 Tundra has 186,345 miles on it. They got the problem resolved this morning and suggested service suggested for 200k miles. Absolutely no pressure and very informative. Ill be returning to get that work done in the next few weeks b/c of how honest and friendly the service was. I waited for this service to be done and had good conversation with a couple different customers waiting. It was a friendly experience and I highly recommend Performance Auto!!

As a small business owner with several vehicles in the fleet, I made the mistake of utilizing another provider closer to home for several years.
