Melody Ray is a wonderful stylist. She is very professional, creative, and gave me a great look for a very important day. I was in from out of town, and the Salon was so accommodating in scheduling a special time for an appointment. If I lived in Williamsburg, this would absolutely be my Salon!

Hate to leave a bad review but I went to get my hair styled for a wedding by Kenny, and unfortunately I cannot recommend this salon. I asked for a simple blowout and curl. The stylist didn’t use any heat protectant on my hair, blew dry my hair totally flat, and then kept the curler around my hair for far too long probably causing damage. The curls fell within an hour, leaving my hair flat and dull looking. Honestly, shocked and pretty frustrated at the lack of quality.

They ruined my hair style!! They changed the style, did not keep the varying lengths, and just created a mess for me. It will take months for my regular stylist to get my hair back to where it should be. I have very short hair that requires a trim every 3-4 weeks. Due to a family death - I missed my appt with my regular stylist this week so I made an appt at Scotland at salon a few days later for a trim only. I specifically requested no change to the style Unfortunately this is not what happened. A second stylist tried to help the original stylist when I told them the haircut was off. But she blamed the ‘way my hair grows’. It has grown this way for 60 years and all other stylists have been able to work with it. I realize this was not done on purpose but if a stylist isn’t experienced in certain cuts - they shouldn’t do them!I appreciate managements comment. I did call today but was not able to speak to anyone but honestly - I don’t think there is anything that can make this right. I worked on my hair several times today and it is a hot mess. I think that I will have to live with this until it grows out some and can be cut properly. This was, without a doubt, the first hair cut that I have ever reviewed

I went to the salon looking for a color service. I had not had my hair colored in over 2 years. I shared a picture with the stylist to express my desired color. I ended up with a color that was not remotely close to the photo I had shared and was a color I would have never chosen for myself. It is also worthy to note that they stylist did not share the cost of these services with me before preforming the service and at the end denned it as a custom color and charged me an exuberant price for a service I was very unhappy with and still am today!

Disappointing. Booked an appointment with one stylist and was moved to another without any notice. They called and asked if I could arrive early to fill a cancellation and still didnt mention the change in stylist. As soon as I sit down the stylist says she has an important call to take and delays service even though they asked me to come in at that time. The highlights she did were awful and very dark and brassy and she knew it because she stated that if it still looked bad the next day to call for a correction. This place was a waste of time and money.

I had an appointment with Miranda and she was wonderful! Great at communicating with me and I left the salon with exactly what I wanted. Id go back anytime.

I completely enjoyed my experience! It was a treat to be pampered and to relax in spite of the needed Covid precautions which had to be followed. My stylist, Camden, was one of the most conscientious, professional, and friendly stylists Ive ever known! Im happy that I found her!

Guys, if youre looking for a clean, tight fade, Camden is your stylist! She really pays attention to the detail, ensuring youre confident with the final cut. Shes down to earth, personable and just all around a good person.I highly recommend her if youre looking for a long-term stylist.

I didnt get at all what I wanted and the stylist seemed to care more about getting me out of the door than my hair. Honestly, I think my hair looks worse now than what I came in with... Just an overall bad experience for me.

I recently moved to the area and it had been about 9 months since my last haircut. I had been growing out an a-line bob and wanted to keep as much as the length as possible while evening out the bottom. Based on experiences Ive had in the past I was rightly nervous because usually more gets taken off than requested. Not at Scotland Street.Jordon put me at ease from the start. She brought me to her chair and we discussed my hair and its history, and that it had been thinning due to age and thyroid issues as well as being postpartum. Jordan evened out the bottom and did just the lightest bit of layers on top, just enough to help it blend and not look choppy. I mentioned that in the past with coloring and highlights that it made my hair straight but since I have grown all the color out it the natural waves came through.I usually air dry my hair and after washing today and letting it dry naturally Im very very pleased with it. I will definitely be returning and to see Jordon.And the dog in the salon is very cute!

I went into the salon with quite a lot of hair to get into an elegant up-do for my sisters wedding and a very limited amount of time to work with. Vickie did a lovely job and left me with plenty of time to continue getting ready. Nearly everyone I talked to at the wedding complimented me on how beautiful my hair looked! I will definitely be coming here again in the future. Thanks for a job well done, ladies!

Rachael did an amazing job on my wedding updo. She had never met me before and had no warning; she actually volunteered to do it because I changed my mind about what I wanted last minute and she happened to come to work an hour early that day. That was lucky for me because she did a beautiful job and was really sweet and helpful!

Rachel cut my hair for 5 years before I moved. She knows her stuff! Is young, fun and cutting edge! The salon is calm and inviting with sweet dogs who greet you and a warm staff! Great prices and great location!!

Ellorie is a miracle worker and color goddess. I’d be lost without her services. I came home for 3 days and her talent is so good I made sure to squeeze in a hair color appointment. Can’t say enough good things about her!! I have been coloring my hair for 10+ years and she’s by far the best colorist I’ve been to.

I had Jordan do a cut and color and she was fantastic! Not only did she give me a great haircut, but she was really helpful in taking the time to pick a new color. She has such a good attitude and clearly takes her responsibilities at the salon seriously. As for the salon itself, everyone was friendly and professional, and the atmosphere was perfect for a relaxing experience. I highly recommend this place.

Rachael is a hair wizard! 💗After years of highlights, she restored my hair to its natural color with so much dimension in less than an hour and a half! It looks beautiful and feels so much healthier. She not only showed me a swatch book to make sure I would like the color, but also explained everything she did which really calmed my nerves during the process. My hair seriously felt like virgin hair when I walked out of the salon! The salon itself is also so cute - french bulldog themed to match the owners two sweet dogs who sleep on the windowsill next to you for company :) They charge very fairly (the price I paid was only slightly more than the website estimate because I needed more product since I have thick hair), especially considering the reputation of the salon and how much experience the stylists have. Dont skimp on your hair! I couldnt have asked for a better experience and am so glad I took a chance with this place!

Finding a good hairdresser is as hard to find as a good doctor and Scotland Street Salon fills that bill.Vicky is great and I recommend her.

They did such a wonderful job on my granddaughters ombre that I made an appt to start having my hair done there.

I went to this salon with high expectations from the pricing perspective, leaving Unhappy, disappointed, when back to fix my hair, it was exactly the same,the highlight that I was expecting, I have to have a microscope to see them. Never going back. Wish to think about it more 200 $ better when grocery shopping.

Lissa has been making me glam, sharp, hip, camouflaged, tinted, well-informed and entertained for almost 30 years. Obviously I would NOT go anywhere else. Love the vibe and location of the new salon. Lissa, you can never retire.

Scotland Street Salon was an overall great experience, and my hairstylist (Bri) was especially kind, caring, and amazing!I was very nervous coming in but Bri made me feel extraordinarily welcome :) Highly recommend SSS!

They weirdly rotated who was getting worked on. Resulted in waiting 30min between between my cut and styling. Other people who were waiting since I had gotten there had to walk out.

WOW. I saw Bri and went from a bob to a pixie cut and I can’t brag about the experience enough. First, the salon is BEAUTIFUL. It’s probably the most aesthetically pleasing I’ve ever seen. Second, there’s two adorable dogs there to greet you. Third, THE WHOLE STAFF IS SO WELCOMING AND INVOLVED IN YOUR EXPERIENCE. The gal at the front desk (Miranda?) was SO friendly and helpful! And my haircut? Bri gives the kind of hair cut that gives you the confidence to challenge Beyoncé to a dance battle. You walk out of there ready to take Serena Williams on in a tennis match and promptly go for a Vogue cover shoot afterwards. I am SO picky about my pixie cut and she nailed it to a tee. The talent, professionalism, and service of this salon is UNMATCHED.
