Went here once before and it was great… however I will not be back after this time. I went in to get a much needed fill but opted for regular polish so that I could change it because I like to occasionally. As the woman is doing my feet she asks me if I want a callus removal? I don’t even have callus’. So I decline. She asks me if it was too expensive, which I felt was pretty rude and made me extremely uncomfortable. So ok… at this point I’ve got weird vibes. Then I go get my nails done and I got asked if I wanted gel polish several times after I clearly specified.The woman who did the fill did not clean under my nails, they’re all different lengths, and didn’t let me wash my hands so all of the acrylic dust settled around my cuticles and under my polish. No lotion. No oil.The straw that broke the camels back was that they charged me $25 for a reg polish fill which is typically what I pay for a new set. Overall a train wreck. Stay away from this place. No idea how they have 4 stars.

I am always treated so kindly and with great care. Im always pleased with the artist who do my nails, they last forever! This set lasted a little over three weeks! I can bring them an image of what I want, and they transform it into reality but better! I would recommend all their services. Additionally, Id go as far to say it is my favorite spa in the Burg.

I got infections at this nail salon THREE times. Def never returning back. Also this nail salon is very dishonest about their prices. They add all these extra charges when you get to the register and then act all confused when you inquire why the price changed. I asked the owner and she immediately had a very nasty and dismissive attitude. It’s very hard to find one decent nail salon but I highly recommend look elsewhere unless you enjoy being ripped off and don’t mind skin infections. Please clean your tools!

I have used them for years even for my wedding which they did an exceptional job. The staff is always friendly and do as I ask.When I moved to Surry, I decided to try a place out there which was the biggest mistake. That place ruined my nails. I will never go anywhere but here from now on.

I had been coming here for 3 years but lately the quality of services has derailed. The amount of lies the owner gives for excuse for poor service keeps growing.The owner consistently will change the price when you come to the counter to pay from what you were told when you sit down. Also, they dont sterilize their pedicure tools. They just place them in these autoclave bags but they dont actually autoclave them. Extremely unsanitary and unhygienic.

Ive gotten two different infections from uptown nails and the first time the half my nail fell off and took weeks to grow back. they are very overpriced for simple designs with a ok job

I’ve always came here. This is the second time my nails have been messed up and I’m not satisfied with my service. The lady I had rushed my nails. Apparently she had somewhere to be and was out the door before I could even pay for my nails. She didn’t even take the time to make sure my nails matched the other hand. There are bumps also in my nails. The shape doesn’t match and one nail is completely longer on one side and not even filled straight. Color wasn’t matched to the picture I had. It’s been a year since the last mess up. They did fix them from previously but at this point I don’t even want to return to get my nails fixed. I spent too long in there just to come back and have to spend more time in there. I got a pedicure and full set. Both gel. Even tipped $20 on top of it. 2 of my nails are smaller and don’t even cover my full nail also. Not to mention on my full set she didn’t even paint the end of my nails so it just looks funny. Highly disappointing. I would have brought it to the owners attention but rushed out not really over looking my nails because I had an appointment in Hampton.

The WORST experience i’ve ever had at a nail salon!!! I asked for the simplest thing. The shaping is horrible. The painting is very sloppy. Altogether, i will NEVER go there again. They charged me $85 for medium length, all white, acrylic nails. They look lumpy, fingernail polish on my fingers, just NO! They didnt keep a set price either. I highly do not recommend.

I used to go here with my friend all the time but the owner started just making up prices when you get to the register. I was shocked the last time because the owner was nasty and we used to spend a lot of money on buying other things other than our nail services.Another thing is they arent sterilizing their tools I noticed. I was a little concerned too when my friend looks like got an infection. I dont know what happened with the service but we wont be back. The owner needs to understand that we are customers paying for a service and we have choices to go other places. The nasty behavior of the owner and price gouging is the reason I cant recommend this place.

Went in approximately 1:45 before closing, just needed basic manicure pedicure. Asked not too much drilling and filing due to nail thinning stopped using acrilic a while ago, professionals who try and educate not just take your money and want you to be uneducated thats what these people do and treat you like a $$if your not light ENOUGH, Im sick of this here in Williamsburg.. It needs to stop and it needs to be a change

I must say this was the best experience I’ve had at a nail salon in a long time. Kudos to the owner Jenny. I haven’t been here in a while. However, because my work schedule changed I found my way in the doors. Boy am I glad I did. Smart business move by the way being open on Sundays. Only nail salon I know to be open. I say all this to say BRITTANY IS THE BEST. I can not stress that enough. If you go there make sure you sit in her chair. Can I say perfectionist!? It was so refreshing to meet someone just like me. Particular that is. I asked for a specific design on my nails and she did just that. Nailed it. She is definitely a asset to the business. Made me not just get a fill but a pedicure as well. It was heavenly. I expressed that I am a runner doing 5miles a day and my lower legs bother me from time to time. She said,” no worries I got you.” My legs were no longer tense. It was much needed. Jenny has a great employee. Brittany you did your thang girl! I thank you.

Got a pedicure 4 weeks ago & half the nail on one of my big toes has fallen off and another toe on my other foot is infected. I will never go back there again!!! Ive been getting pedicures for years & this has never happened before. First & last trip to this salon.

I dont often get salon services, but my daughters took me as a gift, two days before Christmas. I was a little surprised to have a young man assigned to do my nails, but although he didnt talk much (which is frankly fine because who could chat with masks and plexiglass barriers!?), he did a beautiful job, even dabbing the glitter polish to ensure even application. Best of all, the gel manicure has lasted two weeks, as promised! I was skeptical, since I do plenty of dishes, have 3 dogs, and take martial arts classes and nail polish typically lasts me about 2 days - but not a chip yet!

I didnt get anything done and it was still the worse experience Ive ever had.

Young lady who did my pedi was awful!!! Scared to touch my feet! Keep skipping my toes when filing them! Never finished buffing them! I left with the cotton still between my toes!!! And no lotion on my feet in the end!!! All for $45 smh😪

I witness a tech waxing and using the same stick the entire service. I also got a nail fungus from the tools not being sterilized. I will not return.

I always come here and usually they do pretty good I just came to get a couple nails fixed that I broke. they’re a lot thicker and don’t really match my other nails plus she cut me which isn’t always a big deal but it shouldn’t happen. And there was polish on the side of my finger and glue on the bottom that I had to scrub when I got home

Have usually been happy with my experiences here, but my most recent visit sent me packing to a new salon. I was getting a manicure, and the tech accidentally cut me. Usually not a huge deal but she wasnt wearing gloves and didnt bother to put them on when dealing with my blood. She did treat it with stypic solution, and then just left me sitting for quite a while before returning to do a poor paint job that started chipping the next day. Not going back.

Staff are kind but every time I try this place (way too many) I leave disappointed. I look up what the color is supposed to look like - and always end up with a streaky/patchy lighter shade no matter how many coats, and it bubbles before they’re dry because they’ve been mixed and compromised. Skim through every step (but will leave the cold towels on for an uncomfortable amount of time) and I notice them see the skin they should go back and push/snip/exfoliate and the patchy polish but they hope you don’t notice and get the job done quickest they can. High price to pay to have patchy/bubbly nails and not have any treatment completed properly.

With the family of five we got right in. Brittany did great with the kiddos and they have 3 kid size pedicure chairs. Me and the hubby were able to enjoy our pedicures right next to them. I didnt catch the names of the ladies that did our nails but they took their time and we enjoyed ourselves. Very welcoming!!

Lets just say my time here was very well spent. I like to have individual eyelashes placed every now and then. Terry is simply amazing.I highly recommend her and the establishment for other services. Your greeted with a nice smile/personality and professionalism kudos to you Terry.

The nail salon I normally go to was closed so I’ve had many people recommend this place to me. I went in and I had no appointment and they took me and I sat down within 2 minutes. The girl doing my nails took her time and asked me if I liked them and I was 100% satisfied. My nails look better than they ever have (I got an acrylic set) and the price was not bad. Little pricey but it’s nothing to throw a fit over. I left her a good tip. Highly recommend this place.

The last three times I’ve been to this nail salon have been terrible. Absolutely terrible. The man that sits in the front can NOT paint nails, they look hideous. So this past time I have gone I sat with a woman in the back corner. I wanted white, pure white nails, and she used a dirty brush to dust the powder! So now my nails are slightly pink, they are also very, and I mean very crooked, not to mention how short she cut them, why even put fake nails on if you’re not gonna ask me how long I want them and cut them so short? So glad that when I got home I even saw that the top coat she put on mine was chipping and peeling! Isn’t that fantastic? Also, my mother was very disappointed, her nails are rough on the top? The lady used the wrong top coat and they wouldn’t dry and she had to repeatedly file and mess with her nails until they were dry and now they feel like sand paper on top. Over all our experiences at this place have gotten worse every time, we will not be coming back.

My wife enjoyed her nails and the hair cuts are great too. Not to mention you can drink a good cold beer while getting it all done. Great experience

I got mink lashes today, and absolutely love them. It took her about an hour to finish. They look natural but full and long like I wanted. I would definitely recommend coming here if you want good quality and a good price.

I got my nails done SUNDAY the 20th and they are chipping. They didn’t fill my nails right and the price was ridiculous but before this I got a new set put on and they all fell of not even 3 days later I’m never coming back and I hope no one else has to deal with this. If you can’t run a business or do the job properly then please don’t try it.

I paid 30+Tip for a gel manicure, and the very same day my polish is lifting and breaking...I call and they tell me to come in to get it taken care of free of charge. I show up and the lady tells me to pick a color, so I do that and proceed to get my nails done. After I’m done she tells me I need to pay 18 dollars. Not what you told me over the phone at all. I should not have to pay 30 dollars and pay again for a mistake your staff made. The same girl from the first time did my nails again and was in a hurry both times which explains the messy job she did on my nails. Not to mention she was also on her phone for 5 minutes straight texting in the middle of doing my nails. Very unprofessional and I shouldn’t have had to pay for that reason alone. I won’t be coming to your salon anymore or recommending friends. you’ve lost a good customer.

I always have a great experience with the staff at Uptown.. They are friendly and my nails look awesome! The Spa Pedicure leaves my feet will relaxed and soft. I highly recommend them! Ive been going to Josie for almost 10 years and wouldnt change a thing. :-)

This nail salon has progressively gone downhill. Yes the prices are decent, but the work is not. The last time I was here the acrilylic gel paint was completely breaking apart my nails! I had to go to a different nail salon and they fixed it. It must have been something with the product but still, I rather pay more money and not have my nails breaking off.

My first visit was great, my nails look awesome and I totally loved it. Thats why I went back, but I was really disappointed. Not picking on the gender-issue, but the man didnt do a great job. It was pretty rough. He barely buffered my nails, and taking off the previous coat was done pretty roughly too - and I realized one (or two) steps were missing. My cuticles werent done properly and there were quite significant polish left on my skin as well. Im quite disappointed to be honest. With inconsistent performance, Im not sure if I will return.

I love this place. I see My and her sister Teresa. I tried another girl my second time, and wasnt quite as happy, mainly because she shaped my nails differently, and gave me one less coat of white on my tips and they chipped a little after ten days, but Im a dog groomer so I am so hard on my nails! I went in asking for dip nails and they advised against it, but offered to do one for free to let me try it out. I decided to take their advice (the owner and My both), and just get a good manicure with gel polish. So glad I did! I always get a manicure so my polish wont lift, and Ive never had a problem. I will say theyre nice about walkins, but most of the techs have scheduled appointments with their regulars throughout the day, so you are taking a chance that you might not get your favorite tech or services at all if theyre really busy. My friend sees one of the male techs for her gel tips and she literally has the most beautiful nails Ive ever seen. Im happy.

This salon deserves 10 stars. I got my nails done by another shop who destroyed them. My friend was getting her nails done here I called her and asked if she could ask them to fix them. This was all 5 min before they closed. I drove 40 min to get here.They did a great job and saved the day. my engagement photos are getting done tomorrow and I can’t thank them enough. I’m a forever customer.

Not the place to have your eyebrows threaded. I left with both eyebrows still looking like a mess. They didnt bother to trim or clean up after threading or apply any soothing balm, both brows are patchy from over threading and extremely uneven in shape. I will not be returning here and sorry I went. I couldve done a better job with the lights out and an electric razor.

If I could rate 0 stars I would. This is the worst nail place I have ever been to. I decided to give it a try because my usual nail tech that I go to was closed due to construction. I thought to myself that it’s only a fill I’m sure they can just do that, well I thought wrong. I had to keep telling the guy how to do every single one of my nails & he would catch an attitude every time I asked him to do something. Not to mention my nails were thin as ever & the shaping was off. I got a gel color because I always get gel & we got to arguing because I asked him if he could do another clear coat because he put something on my nails and it made them super dull & he caught an attitude about that. All in all, he rushed to do my fill and paint them & it was a crappy job. I will not return to this nail place ever again because it’s always a hassle for u to ask someone how u want your nails to be done & it shouldnt be like that, I want what I’m paying for, period.

Stuffy, dark, and overcrowded store. The place is a bit nasty to say the least. I guess the staff brings there kids along to work and let them sit and around on their phones all day. Staff is always eating on the work stations and putting there feet up on all of the seating.. such an unsanitary environment I have never seen a nail salon this disgusting. Equipment looks ancient and dirty. Nail techs never do exactly what you ask them to do with some of them having bad attitudes. I think management needs to be a bit stricter on staff and maybe think about a Reno because it’s well needed. At least add in a tv for entertainment.

So I have been debating posting this rant-Last Saturday my honey took me to get my nails done after work and before date night (they looked beautiful). Woke up Sunday morning and the gel-thats so much better and worth the money had already started to lift 😠 So we go back to the salon after talking to his aunt and sister only for the owner to put a drop of glue in the corner and say it fixed (its not) but they had a wedding coming in, which is clearly more important than customer satisfaction for a 1st time guest. Honey calls because Im clearly aggravated and disappointed after spending nearly 2.5 hours (soaking off the old acrylic, putting on new gel, and polishing with a design) and damn near $80 (didnt get a manicure or lotion or anything special) only for the owner to give in and say come back for it to be fixed. We walk back in and she says get your color (before I even get it she says have a seat at this desk ) upon sitting at the desk the gentleman there looks at the nail in question (my middle finger no less) and says what do you want I explain that the nail is lifting and I want it fixed his response well its not lifting get now so what do you want me to do- I say I want it fixed because it SHOULD NOT be lifting less than 12 hours later. Needless to say we left because they were ALL about to get the middle finger as well as some not nice attitude. Still unsatisfied with no intention of ever going back there and the glue ( a temporary solution is barely holding the gel that has also lifted from the top and not only that but 2 other fingers are lifting less than a week later😠😠😠)Only rating 1 ☆ because I cant pick less and because the girl who did the design did a beautiful job.

Terry Phoi Giang is an absolute magician. Her blading is virtually painless and always on point, her color matching is fantastic. I have NEVER walked out unhappy with my eyebrows - not to mention my lashes. She always makes sure that they are full and long without giving a “fake” look. Most people have no idea that I even have them. I usually get all mink lashes but this past time I wanted more volume so she mixed in the Russian ones and I couldn’t be happier with the results. I will never go to anyone else and highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for these services!!!

Went here for prom to get acrylics with gel polish and two of the nails snapped off in a week. I went back to see if they could fix it but they wanted to charge the same price as last time.

This is the only place I ever go to get my nails done. The people there are are so friendly. They are amazing with kids and the nail technicians want to do designs for no extra price. Terry is beyond amazing seriously I couldnt do what she can do on nails on a piece of paper.

First time I went, the experience was amazing. Second time I went for Mother’s Day. I got the spa package which clearly states “extended massage”. After getting my nails polished and parrafin dip, lotion was placed on my legs for all of 10 seconds and the pedicure was done. I asked the lady doing my nails about the extended massage and she had no clue what I was talking about. My friend who also got the same spa package didn’t even get lotion put on her legs. I spoke with the owner and asked her how long the massage is supposed to be. I asked at least three times for clarification as to what an extended massage was. She brushed me off and gave me a discount and that was it. So apparently they like to advertise amazing packages but do exactly the same things as the $28 package no matter what you say.I won’t be going back.Update: I took away another star for the audacity of the owner to message me and try to tell me that I had only requested a regular pedicure. This is complete bs especially since I had the parrafin dip which is only offered for deluxe and up. Either way I was robbed of massage and charged for it.

Terrible customer service. Owner doesn’t care to make staff clean their instruments. Staff under trained in all aspects. Shop is full of grungy items.

Have come here quite a few times, its the only nail place I go to in Williamsburg. Only reason its not 5 star is because one time they were busy and my nail job was very rushed, uneven, and the technician didnt clean off most of the Polish that got on the cuticle. Plus there was dust and bits of filed nail painted into the color. Other than that every experience Ive had here had been superb.

I decided a long time ago I would no longer visit this salon because although there usually isnt much of a wait, the quality sucks! Because I didnt have time to visit my usual salon (in Newport News) I decided to go to this salon for a simple polish change. The day before Christmas! The guy asked me 3 times if I wanted gel I told him no each time. He suggested this pretty color so I chose to get that one. When done, going to pay I was told my total was $18. Knowing gel is more I went ahead && paid. By the 26th (2days later) my gel polish I paid $18 for was chipping. Called Jenny she told me to come back. When I got there for my polish change, I couldnt find the exact color he suggested. No problem, found something close. the girl was buffing my nail only to paint over the chipped parts. If I paid $18 for a polish change 3days before all of my nails should have been done completely over. Jenny is unaware of quality && I will not return !

I love this place! Dont let the dead shopping center fool you, this place is a hidden gem. Not only is the staff and the owner Jennie great people but they do an awesome job. I will only go here for my gel manis, pedis and eyebrow waxing from now on... in fact, Im going tonight ;)

I didnt like this salon because I was getting a French pedicure done with my mom and the woman that was doing it for the was talking about me in a different language to her other coworkers and they laughed about it. I didnt appreciate it at all it was very unprofessional and rude. I wont be going back.
