Paid $6000 for a “new” motor for my Ram, I have gone back 5 times since last year for warranty work and the “new” engine still burns a quart of oil every week.

Took my truck there to have a remanufactured engine put in it. Engine runs great. Their quoted price was better than anybody around. The price they charged was what was quoted. We had one minor issue which we took the truck back and they had the issue taken care of in a couple hours. Good people. Id definitely go there again and I highly recommend them.

Boy where do I start I am so excited after massive engine failure with a Tri power flathead. My wife and I decided to rebuild the block this time with a super charger. After a lot of reading and many phone calls sifting through would be engine builders in my entire region we were in unimpressed. Flatheads are different animal to say the least. We accidentally, but thank goodness we found United Engine Specialist featuring “Mr. Flathead” Jerry Livingston in Wichita Ks. After a huge disappointment with costs elsewhere we called Mr. Flathead. Curt answered the phone courteously and patched me through to Jerry. After a fairly long conversation I was positive this was our guy. We drove over 600 miles to meet this guy and staff and was not disappointed. Jerry is a river of information, personal experience and history that is truly respectable. After leaving our block and parts Jerry let us know this block wasn’t what we thought it was. Pushing my human impatience we agreed a better block was needed. He looked and we looked until he found the right block. It took a little longer than I hoped but these engines in good enough condition to accommodate a super charger are hard to find. We kept in touch through the entire process and he always took the time to talk and offer his advise (listen to this man) he knows his business!! We arrived in Wichita on a Sunday and he invited us to the shop to hear it run. Folks that is huge! This guy loves what he does!! Early Monday morning Jerry arrived chipper after a dental appointment and we loaded the engine along with his coaching and counseling. After the more than fair bill was settled Curt, Jerry and us laughed, talked and bench raced for awhile. In closing, our experience went beyond what we expected, the engine is a work of art and more important sounds convincing. I recommend Jerry and the staff to anyone, see for yourself. Thank you Jerry and staff.Doug and Laurie BassP.S. Don’t go thinking you know it all cause you probably don’tI have added pictures of our engine in their gallery. They are a must see check them out!!

Had my 302 heads rebuilt here about a year ago. They are still going with no issues. They even let me talk to the guy who was going to work on them and pick his brain to make sure I got exactly what I needed.

Worst place to take anything you need rebuilt. They are so careless! They dont do a very good job for being specialists because I had to take my motor completely back apart because they didnt check to see if the block needed resurfaced like I asked them too! Do not take your stuff here! They about ruined my all matching number original motor out of a classic! They will never get any business from me or my family again and I dont recommend and never will recommend them to anyone!

United Engine Specialist rebuilt a 1950 Ford flathead for me, and it runs great. It is a classic Old School style. Bored to 3 and 3/8 in., 4 in, merc crank, 3/4 race cam, Ross forged racing pistons, balanced, with an aluminum flywheel with steel insert, and an 11 in. truck clutch . Polished offenhauser heads, and polished offenhauser dual intake with dual 97s. It really sounds sweet with the headers and dual smittys. I nestled this beautiful Flathead into my 1937 Ford 5/w Coupe, and am living the Dream. Thank you Jerry for the TLC you built into my MONSTER FLATHEAD. I have my Sweetheart, My Hotrod, and my health. IT DONT GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS.
