Paid $3 to spend over an hour looking through the lot for a couple of wheels that were supposed to be on cars in their inventory. Saw hundreds of wheels wrapped up on about 2 dozen pallets as I walked away empty-handed, hot and $3 poorer. Im pretty sure they had the wheels I wanted, but I think they cull the good parts before allowing you to pick over whats left. A poor inventory system and business model!
Fairly frequent customer. Now, when you checkout, they automatically add an additional warranty on your purchase without asking if you want it. It is an option, but you have to let them know you dont want it at checkout. Yes, they have it posted at their entrance on protective shields, but I missed it, and Im sure many others will too. They initially said they couldnt refund my money after the sale. I asked to speak with a manager and he did refund it for me this time only (which thankfully he did at least). They should ASK their customers at checkout if they want this additional warranty, NOT just add it on without saying anything. Not a good way to treat your customers in my opinion. Considering that some people will never look at their receipt.Ill likely consider other options for all of my future parts after this.
Not sure what the deal is but the new staff has already made me feel good about spending my money with lkq!!atmosphere is pleasant and welcoming thank you!!!
They have alot of vehicles available, very organized, they charge $3.00 if you want to see if they have the part available (no returnable). You need to bring your own tools to remove any part. This map help to find the vehicle very fast, they give you a vehicle location but they dont provide you this map.
I called in to ask the price of a rear bumper and the lady told me it was $40+core. But at the check out they told me it was $65, so I asked why, and the associate told me that the 90 day warranty was 12 dollars. I asked if that is mandatory, the associate dodged the question and said it was automatically applied. He could have told me that this was optional and I would have immediately asked him to remove it. I walked out with confusion. When I went home I looked up this warranty online and learned that this was optional. I went back to the store the next day, described the situation to the associate, but I was asked to speak to the manager, which wont be in until tomorrow. The lady associate attempted to debate me, questioning that it was written everywhere, they have been doing it for a long time and that I should have seen it. Great, what do they need her for then if everything is informed so greatly by these signs? This is dishonest business practice, the first associate applied the 90 day warranty without my permission, and when i raised the concern, he had responded dishonestly. The second lady associate was simply rude, and she made the situation worse. I dont mind if they raise the price up front, but there is no need to cheat customers.
The staff was kind and courteous. Easy to find what you need because of good organization and best of all were the prices! Easy 4 stars!
I went in looking for 1 thing an then i was was able to purchase everything i needed. Thank you, an id recommended them to anyone.
Good prices on parts. But not so friendly staff the lady was talking down to customers and i did not like that!
Found everything we needed and prices were very reasonable. Like how they have it mapped out so you can go right to the vehicles your interested in parts.
Pretty well picked over. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable.
WAS A VERY HOT DAY TOOK A FRIEND UP THEIR AND WSITED IN THE JEEP!! LAST TIME I WAS AT THIS PLACE IT JUST HAD A SHED ON IT AND DIRT!! CAME A LONG WAY BABY
Great prices, large selection and friendly service
$3.00 gate fee to get through the door. Be ready to do a lot of walking trying to figure out the lay of the land like a pilgrim hitting the frontier on a great adventure.
Ok place to sell your car. Beware they offer a tow and dont tell you about the $60 charge until the car is there. I have AAA and would have got it taken there for free.
The management of this establishment is so POOR. they point you at a map and then send you out into their yard with a list of cars. Besides not knowing what they really have in their inventory.Instead of suggesting that maybe it would be best to take a picture of the map before they send you into the yard, it’s like they want you to be in the yard not be able to find your part and a charge you a three dollar entry fee, like it’s an amusement ride. The only ride going on here is the ride there taking you for your money.Use the other local Auto recyclers in townLet’s keep our Kansas money in Kansas!!
The lady up front needs to learn people skills. 2nd when you call and ask for a price on a pay they tell you a price then the same lady tries charging you 7 dollars more then qouted before taxes, 3rd treats you like a theif. I will never go back and go to another junkyard before going back here
My roommate broke back glass on his SUV and we call LKQ to see if they had any they said yes had three SUVs out on the lot, need back window she said yes we have a back window come on out when we got there they had three Pathfinders none of them had any back windows! Very misleading! Didnt have any back windows had three SUVS. Not taking inventory very well . Walk inside looks great, but they dont know what they have !###% Sad, disappointing I will never go there again
My go to junkyard whenever I need a part. $3 fee to get in but if u have an account with them u can use a one time free entry. They let you take bolts for free which is awesome. Just be sure you have the tools you need. I wished they were closer to my location but the drive is worth it. So far I have gotten an axle, radiator hose, bolts for transmission and suspension, door handle, exterior door handle mechanism, none have failed and are in good shape.
Great customer service, very well organized facility, helpful staff
I just love this place the parts are good and the price is hard to beat
Nice well kept..but make sure that you bring all your own tools and wear safe shoes
I think LKQ is a really fine salvage yard. They are organized, keep great records of where to find the vehicle you are searching to find. I will keep shopping there.
Employees at the desk were very nice and helpful. Vehicles are organized on the lot and they show you where they are on a map so going and finding the part we needed was fairly easy. Will absolutely use them again if and when needed. Highly recommend.
Helpful staff and great price for the item we needed
They try not to tell you the hidden prices. Also took the rewards points out, so I lost all the rewards.
LKQ is an amazing place to go if you need parts for your vehicle they are reasonable and very efficient
Awesome place helpful pdopl
Best concept on how to run a salvage that Ive seen
Its ok for getting parts but the new prices suck! Other than that I highly recommend it!
The place has everything I could be in here for days LOL staff was very friendly enjoyed my visit didnt get the part I wanted but I got another part I needed LOL highly recommended
Love this place! Staff very knowledgeable & helpful to get me the parts I need.
Loved the experience and very reasonable prices.
Waste of time unless you get there as soon as they release the vehicle. Website says they have the parts but in reality they have no clue but charge you admission to figure out they have no idea what they have.
Awesome helpful affordable
Very helpful, good ran facility.
Half of the time they have the parts I need. You still have to pay 3 dollars and walk a half mile to the car to that your part should be on to officially see if they have the particular part you need. They have more than one register, or check in spot for each person that comes in, but they only use the one that is right there at the entrance, so this sometimes cause a pile up of people needing to get in. They could use the other register to make the check in process a lot more simple and professional, but they dont notice this. They search your tool bag every time you go into their place, to make sure theres nothing bad in there. Then when you are checking out and leaving, they search your tool bag again to make sure youre not stealing any engines or transmissions from them. They treat you like youre in work release or something. So scared you will steal something from them, so they just have to go through your stuff. Expect to be treated exactly like a felon thief from the time you walk in, to the time you walk out. They will nickel and dime you for each piece that each part you buy has. Any piece that is attached to some other piece will be counted and charged to you. I would bet that if you buy a radio from them, they will charge you per button, or for each individual wire coming off of the back. Overall its an OK place to buy from, as they do sometimes happen to have what you need. Just expect a lot of walking, a three dollar charge just to be allowed to do this walking, expect to be treated like a felon when entering and exiting their business, and expect nearly the same cost as another salvage yard would charge you for the same part in some cases, even though you were the actual person that went out to do the labor to pull the part at LKQ. Also dont expect to be able to simply call their local place for anything whatsoever. They do not have a local number. This location simply does not possess that kind of advanced technology. Nope. You have to call LKQs nationwide 800 number, just so the operator can tell you that they cannot help you with your problem or question, and that you will just have to just drive out to the place. They could run their business a lot better than they do, but they clearly refuse to.
They have several cars of varying years makes and models. You could probably find what youre looking for.
You dont pay to go inside a grocery shop when you buy nothing. Why pay to get in and not buy anything. Will not be going back.
Great People!!! These guys & gals have been out there for years treating people with respect and customer service.
Got there 32 minutes prior to closing and the (manager) won’t let us in because the stop admitting people 30 minutes prior to close. I was there before that but understandable!Still last option when it comes to salvage parts in Wichita. Management here is lacking in all levels. We are a commercial account and the still having issues updating our tax exemption paperwork, every time we come in is a different excuse just to keep on charging us tax.Anyway we buy in multiple LQK - Keystone- PGW locations across the nation and this location is a constant letdown.
Great prices just have to make there before cars are stripped down or you may not get the part you were looking for
Its a good, decent auto salvage lots of variety but if your not into walking long distances be prepared and gotta do a little searching as well also have to pay a$3 fee to enter the salvage yard and very cheap prices compared to brand new.
Love my LKQ friendly service great prices!
Completely disorganized, parts struen all over cant find anything, spent hours looking for parts to a specific vehicle and none of the vehicles listed had the parts I was looking for. Workers are oblivious to what parts are on the lot and what are not.
Its an okay place to get your parts from. Generally the prices are cheaper than ebay but they charge you more if it has more pieces attached to it. For example a guy behind had a fuse box with relays and fuses in it. He was told he had to pay for each fuse and relay, I see him pull each one out, one by one. Prices quoted on the website are higher but like I said cheaper than ebay at times. The staff is very friendly and know the rules. They do search your toolbox. Make sure your box is organized otherwise theyll take a long time searching through it. Whats sad to me is that lkq buys working cars from auctions and parts them out. They wont let you buy a car from them, I tried. Would I recommend them? Sort of. Its a great place for getting a single piece that doesnt have pieces attached like a visor or a oem spoiler. Its a horrible place if your part has stuff attached to it, they will make you pay more.Edit: Beware they do not update there images and inventory online. For example tail lights may appear fine but are smashed or have roles when you get there.
Most of the reviews on this place are from the owner/employees, look how many 5 star reviews are from reviewers who only have 1 review total. Vehicle selection is very good however the prices are extreme. I went in for a wiper motor relay box and they wanted $33 after tax, They are $30 new and even after showing them they would not reduce the price. You think they would at least attempt to make something instead of throwing the part out, poor business practice. Also, some of the workers have very low knowledge on what parts you bring to the counter, I’ve had to explain to them what some of the parts are, a axle shaft being one of them. Will they have the part you need? Most likely. Will it be at or more than what you can get it for new or off EBay? Most likely.
Polite and helpful employees. Very clean for a salvage yard. Great place to pick your parts.
Love this place.. I dont work here. I dont think they are rude. They are always helping me save money.
They way over price. They charge you what a new connector is worth this place is a joke.
They want you to wear a Mask, and do the social distancing thing... But they want to search your stuff.. no hand sanitizer.. So I have to wear a Mask, and your going to put your dirt hands on my stuff? And this make since how?
Didnt have what I needed
Staff is very helpful, cars are laid out in orderly fashion, very reasonably priced for the parts you need! All in all, a great place to go for parts you can pull on your own! And, if you need help, they are very happy to assist you, when needed!! I love this place!
Its okay but a lot of walking
Great selection & nice helpful people
Be nice if I could somewhat verify inventory. Definitely the worst Salvage yard around
Went again today and got exactly what I needed for a great price. Im a regular so if you have any questions, feel free
If you like hanging out in the junk yard LKQ is very clean and the yard is really convenient.
It was a cool place that had what I needed for pretty cheap. Im definitely gonna go back
It was excellent they are friendly and nice
Hot! They follow u around and watch u like u are stealing so it makes u not want to touch anything. Good prices though.
When you can use out theres nobody around to help you to figure out where you are going theres no clearly marks signs or postings to show where it is you are going. A lot of it is guesswork but at the end of the day I got what I needed.
The staff is great and its so well organized.
Checked online and called them for prices on specific tires. Got there, got them off and to the register and they added an extra $80 for no reason what so ever. Will not be going back.
They charge you 3 dollar for admission plus a dollar for single use mask.and cashiers with attitude.
Big yard!
It was rainy and cold and muddy other than that everything went well
Great place to pull your own parts! Cost $3 to get in. They have an online inventory of available vehicles. Ask at the counter for an interchange list and they will print you a list of vehicles that share the same part and where they are located on the lot. Helpful staff and simple warranty on most parts! Bring your own tools and pull your own parts. Wheelbarrows are provided on a first come first serve basis. Catalytic converters are removed from all vehicles and I dont think air-bags are allowed to be purchased.
They will charge you more than the prices show on their website. They charged me double for a fuse panel and when I questioned this Hugo, the boss, told me to never come back and refused to sell me the parts I spent hours removing.
Hey I had a great experience there they had all the parts I need it everything I was looking for I found and at a reasonable price so Id recommend it to anyone
They were very kind and considerate!
Great Saturday afternoon activity
Very good
Staff is always friendly, parking lot has plenty of parking and well kept. Junk yard grounds are kept fairly clean as well.
Not sure where all of these negative reviews are coming from. We went to LKQ yesterday we were greeted by a very friendly woman at the counter. We paid our $3, we were given perfect directions to where the car was, we picked our parts and paid. I needed some trunk pieces for my Mustang, they charged me $6.00. Couldnt be happier with my experience, the customer service was great!
I like going to the yard and browsing the selection. Usually look online for what I need and if they have a few cars in those years I head over to find my part and pull it. When you get there you always find or remember other parts you could use. Quick access to the cars your looking for and quick check out when your done. A good place to find what you need.
I have been utilizing LKQ services for several years. I have always experienced friendly and helpful staff with every experience! They are awesome and VERY reasonably priced.
Its a great place I love it!. And they give you 30 days to return the parts if theyre broken or not working plus is cheap. I got an engine for 2000 Chevy Malibu and and only pay $315 after tax and the car is running like new 👍
I went there this morning very organized and great structure $3 to get me in great deal you can be there all day long and just look at all the cars ....Of course every car has it own history but at the same good parts too .This morning I came across a Ford F-150 (2002) and got me one heck of deal, basically brand new console piece, head rests and all for $30 you can’t beat that I will be back and give them my business....thanks to all the staff there and great prices for everything I’ll be back to get me the seats and running boards and them tires I feel so bad for the truck exactly like mine and that truck is helping my truck look better and more on key and went and got me the seats everything looks all good thank you
Because I can go and walk the yard and pull whatever part I need on my own. And the prices are reasonable
We get told the price of the part is $27 when we called and after pull the parts and go to pay for them they tell the parts are $20 more then what we was told over the phone and we cant get the parts we need because of being told that it was one price and then get charged a different price and we spent two hours in the heat pulling them and for not to be able to get them because the call center and the place where u get the parts cannot get there prices right
They know they have you over a barrel as soon as you walk in the door. All they do is take your money. No customer service what-so-ever. I was shocked when he told me the price. I told him the price on the website and he said that was the car price but my car counts as a truck. I said its not a truck an all and in fact the parts came off a car in their cars section, not the truck section. He says well my boss counts it as a truck. Its a scam. They already know Im going to pay it if I have to because Im not leaving without the parts I just spent 3 hours in the heat retrieving. So he just stands there not saying anything, waiting for me to run my card as he over charges me. The car is a Ford Taurus. For pricing LKQ considers it a truck.Even worse story: A friend of mine bought a complete engine from them. He figured out the block was cracked so he took it back with his receipt to get a refund, well within their return policy. LKQ took the engine back but refused to give him a refund. They are thieves! If you go to LKQ and expect to be screwed over and disrespected then they will meet your expectations every time.
Cant remember a worse customer service experience. Or a pricing that made less sense. And you can bet in the future I will explore every option possible before returning including just doing without the part I need.
It was my first time I called the one 800 number and spoke with a rep from Texas. The rep was very helpful and friendly told me to go on over to this address and go into the lot and pick my part. He also said it would be three dollars. I was looking forward to the experience so I rushed over. I drove through the parking lot the gate was open I pulled up to it there was a bout a small sign (6” x 10” or so) that was hard to read. I was in a hurry since I had a half hour to get onto the lot before they quit letting people on (as per the guy on the phone earlier). I drove in, pulled two parts (a mirror and wheel nut cover); pulled out, drove up to the main building went in and then was treated horribly by an impolite girl at the front counter who like I was a total idiot for not knowing every single bit of parliamentary procedure they go by. She said I shouldve gone through the front counter and paid 3 dollars to get to the right yard. She said I went into the wrong one (which was the only one I could see upon pulling in) and she wasnt going to let me get my parts. Then somebody went and got a manager who came around and was nice enough to let me buy my parts. I paid and then I asked if I could go look around for 10 minutes (the end of the day) and was going to stroll into the back for the last 10 minutes they were open. I just wanted to spend five minutes looking at a truck real quick to see if it was anything I would want to come back for next week. The guy who I paid had said I could do so and I was headed that way and then the same little rude sounding girl from the front counter started in with her tone again saying, “Oh no, you got to come in this way! Thats where you come, this way; and then you pay your three dollars!” I left. I dont need to be treated like that. I let her know that someone else had already told me I could go there; but I left anyway.
We found what we were looking for, but sections are not marked at all and most vehicles were not marked. Make sure you take a pic of the map up front and listen to the locations from the clerk, because the print outs were not very helpful.
Spent three hours in the 90℉ heat removing an exhaust manifold from an 08 g6 only to have the clerk tell me he couldnt sell it to me because the manifold and the catalytic converter is one piece. NOWHERE in this facility does it state anything regarding this (it is a state law however) even though they have a long list of rules and policies...just not this. The clerk said well there are parts we just cant sell.. I said if thats the case there should be a sign stating this or those parts should be removed from the vehicle. The people in charge of removing things are obviously incompetent because they cut off the flex pipe thinking it was the catalytic converter. 👍 Maybe the clerk at the desk should be in charge because he knew it was a converter. Unfortunately I can only give a one star because I cant leave it blank. Ive emailed them and if I get an adequate response I will change this review accordingly.UPDATE: Absolutely no response at all EVER to my email. Sucks to be me I guess. Great way to run a business. Understand though, this is the only problem Ive had there. Just pretty pissed laying in the heat for nothing. I did however find that LKQ will sell them out of Canada into the US used though. Saw them on eBay and the seller was LKQ. So I guess at least someone will benefit from the fruits of my labor.
Awesome place. Friendly people. Great prices. Overall great experience!!!
If you read nothing else, read this: Go ANYWHERE else before here. I prefer Don Schmid Salvage over this high priced jerk fest.First impression: this place is clean FIRST CLUE that it is a horrible salvage yard. Kidding aside, this place is terrible. They have no way of looking up what they actually have in their yard (cant tell if a truck out there is 4x4 or not? Really?) and no knowledge about what they sell or what they have in their yard. The yard is huge, sure, but it is pretty disorganized. The staff is very slow and quite rude. Their prices are astronomical compared to ANY other salvage yard Ive been to in my life. Most of the parts I went in for were small plastic trim pieces plus one transmission cooler. They wanted $110 plus a ton of core charges for plastic! I was amazed at how they get any business at all. Who the hell charges a core charge on an inner fender? They wanted $31 plus a core charge on a tail light that costs $33 brand new I went here as a last resort for parts for my brother and I will NEVER set foot inside here again. If I want to pay their price, Ill just buy brand new parts online!
Bunch of lying people in dont know what parts are called then .... tried charging new price parts for something that is used
The real deals are at the Pick-n-Pull in Kansas City. Better prices and better service. Lkq needs to get off their butts and spend more time out in the yard cleaning things up. You cant get down the rows because there is so much junk in the way. But they are too busy making sure to charge you extra for every little nut and bolt.
Ive been to decent LKQs in the past but this one has the worst service Ive ever experienced and wouldnt even follow their posted rules online. I went in earlier today for a part that is $50 brand new on summit and they had the audacity to say it is $130 and when I brought up that is is significanly less online brand new the lady behind the counter said then just go get it online when on their website it says find a better price at a competitor and we will beat it by 10%. I will never go back to this LKQ and will never recommend it. Good buisness policy is dont insult and belittle your customers. I wasted an hour driving down, $3 to get in to pull the used part, then another hour of driving to go home empty handed. The pathetic part of this LKQ is that even with that 120 miles of wasted gas, the new part online and shipping I am still paying less than this rip off of a company. Youre better off finding the part new online than going to this place and getting ripped off for a part the might not even work.
Very rude. Bad costumer service, price high for pulling your own part. I would give them a big 0
There was nothing I liked about this place. The people were rude and dumbfounded. I had never before and walked in. The employee stood there and looked at me not saying anything. After about 5 seconds with the staring contest finally said Ive never been here before. He proceeds to point to the poster on the wall and reads it off like Im a kid. I asked about inventory and they didnt have a list. They said Id have to walk back and look. Mind you its 90+ degrees outside. Finally get back there and nothing is sorted. Only way sorted was domestic cars, import cars, trucks. Horrible place. Ill never return.
Do not..I repeat.. do not buy from here. Literally bought something yesterday and it didnt work so I brought it back less than 24 hours and they wouldnt return my cash. Tried telling me I took it apart when I just tightened screws. Fool me once. Never again.
Super high priced on certain parts.
Tried to charge me full price on used parts, pulled spider gears and tried to charge me for each individual gear which if anyone is familiar with that kind of stuff you know that thats nonsense bc thier a set, cant interchange them. So if your a real mechanic Id suggest just going to your local part store you wont taken advantage of. Also youll deal with people that are experienced and professional.
