Dr. Hall was AMAZING! She was very attentive to my concerns and has such a friendly, calming demeanor. I believe that’s very important considering the anxiety some have about going to the dentist. April was awesome as well! She was very thorough and got my teeth spotless. She also was conversational and does a great job of easing any anxieties one may have. If you’re looking for a great dentist, definitely ask for Dr. Hall. She’s made a lifelong patient out of me 🤗

This place is very unprofessional!!!!!! So I scheduled a appointment a month in advance.. filled out all my paperwork got to my appointment a month later, and as I enter and say Hi I have an appointment, the young lady is like hold on let me see something.. she like oh we don’t take your insurance anymore.. so another girl comes to the counter and say oh I tried to call you.. then the other girl says call your insurance and she writes downs two other places she says takes my insurance. But they didn’t! So I check my phone information and saw they gave me a call the day before to tell me they didn’t take my insurance.. so why I’m mad… not because they didn’t take my insurance, but The appointment was scheduled for a month and you mean to tell me I got a phone call the day before when I made the appointment the insurance should have been ran and I thought that’s what they do since I’ve been there before to make sure that your insurance is good, The young woman who scheduled my dentist appointment and didn’t run the insurance should be wrote up!!!!!! very unprofessional!!!!! so my husband has decided not to go back to them and schedule somewhere else and also we are taking all our children somewhere else we all used to go to them, but we will not go to them any longer they are very unprofessional to have me wait a month just to say we don’t accept your insurance and only call me the day before!!

Gentle Dental just says it all in the name. Its been over a decade since I have seen a Dentist, unfortunately but fortunately, they provided the best care I could have imagined. April was very fun and kept me engaged the entire time with her conversation. She even let me hold a mirror to watch the whole cleaning process from start to finish! Did I forget to mention, I didnt feel a thing! Idk about the others but the Westland location gets a perfect 10/10 from me. I highly recommend them! Plus, they accept Medicaid. I cant wait for my future phases!

Due to covid, I had to schedule my appointment over a month beforehand. It finally came around and I went in a half hour early to fill out paperwork. After completing the lengthy patient forms, the front desk told me that there was no appointment scheduled for me. I had been receiving text message reminders leading up to the day. After making a fuss, and showing her the texts, they freed up a doctor to work on me despite, their negligent scheduling. I was told I had several cavities on both sides of my mouth and theyd like to split it into 2 visits so both sides of my mouth wouldnt be numb at the same time.The doctor filled them, and I went to schedule my next appointment. Despite insurance covering the work done, they included a $187 fee I had to pay out of pocket. I thought that was a bit steep, but wrote it off, as most dentists probably have some amount they charge out of pocket.However, the next night, I went to floss my teeth and on every spot they put in a filling, the flosser would get stuck to the point I had to cut it out with scissors. I felt wronged and cancelled my future appointment for the left side of my mouth.I then went to a dentist much further away that I had been to as a teenager. I brought the graphic of my cavities Gentle Dental provided. My dentist, however, took his own x-ray, and told me there was no cavities that needed filled on the left side. That means Gentle Dental lied about the 6 cavities I had left to be filled and probably lied about the 5 the already filled. My old dentist also told me he has never charged somebody insured over $75 out of pocket for fillings.THESE PEOPLE ARE A SCAM AND WILL PUT UNNECESSARY FILLING INCORRECTLY IN YOUR TEETH JUST TO MILK YOU OF OUT OF POCKET MONEY.I have an appointment scheduled with the good, legitimate dentist to fix what gentle dental messed up on my right side. I am still unable to floss anywhere they filled.

The worst Gentle Dental place I went so far. They kept me waiting for over 45 mins and then there was this Hispanic lady (dental Hygienist) not sure what her name was but she was very rude & disrespectful in her replies & treated me very bad during my child’s visit. Most of the things I asked she either didn’t answer or didn’t know not sure why was she in so rush. Never coming back to this place again. Very poor service & staff......

Very friendly staff. I always enjoy going to my appointments at the Westland location. They have done a great job of cleaning my teeth and very fair prices after what my insurance covered.

I would never recommend this place to anyone. I was there for 1 hour and 40 minutes and didn’t even get a teeth cleaning. I was mostly sitting in the room by myself while the so called dentists were elsewhere. They also told me I had gum disease which is highly unlikely because I brush my teeth twice a day and floss and use mouthwash daily. They also didn’t understand my insurance and asked me multiple times if I had it. The facilities were also uncleanly and I was very disgusted with the tools that were put in my mouth. I should have taken a photo of them it was that disgusting. Please do yourself a favor and never go to this dentist office because you will not have a good experience. If I could give a zero rating, I definitely would.

I really appreciate the level of care, friendliness, and the staff at Gentle Dental Westland! I love Dr. Z and the staff there. They are accomodating, friendly, and I dont feel rushed when I have an appointment. Dr. Z outlined a plan for me and I am estcatic that in a few short weeks Ill be receiving my partials. I was so embarrassed to smile but now Ill be able to flash these pearly whites!

I am having my dentures done here, I was very nervous about choosing a dental office. So many had terrible reviews, horror stories. Dr. Z and Jenny, and all the girls in the office went out of their way to make me comfortable and reassure me I would be happy with my Dentures. And they came out fantastic !! With Megan, the office manager, Jenny the Dental assistant, who always made me comfortable, and Dr Z being so patient with me, I highly recomend this office !!

Today was my first appointment there and let me just say wow!!!!! I literally had the best experience there today, the dentist was so friendly and we came up with a plan of care for my teeth. I would definitely recommend everyone going here!!!! they accept Medicaid insurance but not straight Medicaid.

I have been going to gentle dental for the last year and a half since I’ve had my root canal and since then my crown has fallen out six times in one month after they told me it’s not supposed to fall out for 15 to 20 years now and they hit me in the face with the X-ray machine. dropped my crown in the floor and laughed about it dropped my tooth down my throat and much more I suggest that if you go here not to go here anymore they are garbage and need new workers who know what their doing I am not happy

So I am editing my original review because my additional encounters with them were horrible and unfriendly on their part. They did NOT accurately diagnose me and gave me the run around just so they could make money. I am EXTREMELY glad I realized what a horrible place it was before they did any work on my teeth. Stay far away from this place. One star is being kind.

I began going to Gentle Dental in 2017. I finally had insurance and needed a lot of work done. They were great and my dentists was awesome. However, in 2018, something changed for the worse.The first red flag for me was the constant turnover of the front staff. I never saw the same people twice. Canceling and rescheduling appointments was a common theme. Finally, the dentist I loved had left.The hygienist was great at first. Gave me a detailed plan to keep my gum disease in check. I followed it strictly, including using a SonicCare brush. After many cancellations on their part, I finally came in for a cleaning. The hygienist was rude, berating me for not following her instructions. I told her I did and she basically called me a liar. She refused to discuss what I may be doing wrong and said I NEEDED another deep cleaning at the price of $700 since my insurance would not cover it and refused to complete the cleaning I came in for.The last straw for me happened recently. In the fall of 2019 I was told that my insurance approved my partial dentures and went forward. I asked multiple times in process that I would not owe anything and was assured the full cost was approved.When I started the process, I asked about appointment times and length since I had to take time off of work. The front office told me the appointments were 1 hour and I would need only two. 1 for impressions and 1 for final fitting and delivery. That was not the case. I had to come for a fitting and delivery. I was then told I would have to come back in 2 hours. That messed up my days schedule. Then had to come back for a last delivery appointment that was never mentioned and had to take more time off of work. Even once all this was done, I asked about the approval and they said everything was all set.In February of this year, I received a bill in the mail for the partial dentures. I called them and I was told the matter would be looked into and everything should be good. She told me she would call be back in a few days if there was anything else I needed to do. I did not hear back for 4 months, so I thought the matter was closed.This week I got a final notice to pay the bill or it would be sent to collections. I called again and the manager said she would look into that and get back to me. I could not risk another 4 month wait and have the bill go to collections and affect my credit. So I ended up paying the nearly $800. The manager was more than happy to take my money.In conclusion, this place started out great, even had a 4.6 Google rating in 2017. I dont know what changed, but now this is a dentist office to avoid. Bad communication and seems to do what they can just to get your money. Thanks for reading this very long review.

Great place. I hadn’t been to a dentist in a few years due to constant insurance changes, and I was so happy to finally find a place that took my insurance. I was able to schedule an appointment online on a Friday night and get into the office the following Monday morning. Great, prompt service and thorough examination. Really glad I tried them, happy to go back in 6 months.

The whole staff is awesome. They live up to their name. I HATED going to the dentist, but now Ive found one that I truly dont mind going to. I was skeptical at first, but after I had a root canal, Im sold. A+

The front desk- reception is very disorganized. On our last to last appointment, they took forever to figure out and help us understand the payment that needed to be made for a certain procedure exactly. It took about 30- 40 minutes, which resulted us been not seen by the hygienist. She directly told us that because of these last 30- 40 minutes wasted, now she is running behind on her schedule if sees us. So we are going to have to schedule another appointment, which was scheduled 3 weeks later. The red haired, older woman who was our hygienist is kind of rude and very condescending. Other than that, the Office manger, Frankie I think that her name, is very nice and cooperative. The dentist, Dr. Hanan is very nice and understanding. I wish the office was open until 7pm at least because of work schedule. The dental assistants are not very friendly and do not seem very knowledgeable about the treatment options and pricing when asked to explain, before I actually pay. However, I think prices are reasonable.

I just spoke with Alisa this morning to schedule my cleaning. From first “Hello” she was SO pleasant. She went out of her way to make sure my insurance was taken and that I could get in as soon as possible. It was a professional, kind, and very positive phone call. Thanks Alisa! 🙂 It’s no wonder to me at all why you are the office manger. 👏🏼 👌🏼

My dental assistant was great I cant remember his name though. As a former dental assistant I know how things run and whats expected. April will be my hygienist and she was so education and gentle. And my doctor was extremely gentle, as conservative as she could have been, informative and I didnt feel pain during my injections. Unfortunately I have major anxiety in the dental chair. So I always use the gas when worked on. I was told the gas wasnt an option for my procedure. Which was a down fall. Even though I didnt feel anything I was tensed up the whole entire time. My heart pounding and nail marks imprinted into my palms from clinching them. So I am still deciding if I will go back or find an office who understands the trauma from the past of a patient. And takes that to heart and wants to have their patients comfortable in every way possible.

HORRIBLE, if I could give 0 stars I would. I got here at 9:30 am and my son and I sat waiting for an hour to be seen. I don’t know how you overbook appts but this seems to be a ongoing issue with this place. Never again but they wanna charge you a cancellation fee but they can’t even be on time for their own appts!! I called them and asked if they do teeth extraction and told me yes, i went to my appointment and the dentist put coldness to my teeth and i jumped and said ouch well he told me that was a dely i felt like he thought i was lying. They schedule me an appointment to get my teeth cleaned, i dont want my teeth cleaned i have two wisdom teeth that needs to be pulled asap. And they basically ignored that fact.

I had a wonderful experience here today. I was a emergency walk-in and I needed to get a tooth pulled out and the dentist Mr. Geller came in gave me my shots and take the tooth right out and I didn’t feel a thing. I’m not one to always go either because I had a bad experience once. I’ll definitely go now.

Very disappointed in a visit that was supposed to only be a cleaning. At the time of my phone call, I was never told that Id have to re-schedule another appointment to come in for the cleaning and that the first appointment was strictly for x-rays and such. I understand protocol is protocol, but why wasnt I informed? I was also told that if it is the doctors opinion that I need more than just a cleaning, I wont be able to purchase just a cleaning. Its preventative cleaning, Im entitled to it! I kindly walked out and wont ever return. Staff was friendly and thats why Im not leaving a 1 star review.

I recently had some major work done.. very reasonable ($$$) as for the front girls are fantastic, and the Medical Team .. they truly have your best interest at heart..and they know what they’re doing, strong, confident, and VERY COMPASSIONATE.. The waiting room can be a little long (I didnt have to wait too long, but others said they were there for over an hour) but the staff is fabulous! They explained to me they were short handed that day, which may explain the wait. Theo was professional and educational with a great personality. Marilyn was super gentle and very nice to talk to, she even helped me get a later appointment. Dr. Carpenter knows what hes doing and explains the course of action before just scheduling you for something. Wonderful!

Had 1/4 of my back tooth left and I have been in pain for months finally got in they got me in with an emergency visit talk to me through the whole process because thats very nervous I had bad experiences getting my wisdom teeth pulled but the staff was amazing Im just glad that he numbed me even a little extra I felt nothing at all and he got the tooth out and a matter of 25 minutes so Im more than satisfied with the service especially at the last moments notice

Had a scheduling error my first visit but I was put on a list of cancellations and got a call and they got me in on my day off which I was so grateful for. Staff was so kind and patient. The Dr. Removed my tooth with absolutely no pain whatsoever!! I didn’t feel a thing, in fact I was shocked that it was over so quickly. I was very impressed and I think I’ve found my permanent dental office!

I wish i can give them 0. i had an appointment with them at 10. they told me to come at 945 to complete paper work because of new patient. at 11. no one called me. i informed the lady at front desk to cancel the appointment. she said are you sure. i said yes and walked out. and i seen people who just talk to her and she called them while at desk. they are racist.

During my first visit I sat in the waiting room for 45 minutes before being called back (not fun) and also brought recent x-rays with me. They of course forced me to have more x-rays done, which I know is not covered by my insurance and I in turn had a balance post visit. If youre a dentist office that accepts insurance, you should really understand how insurance and billing works. During this visit I was also supposed to get a cleaning, but instead after getting my x-rays I sat in the exam chair for AN HOUR AND A HALF until someone finally came and told me Itll be another 30 minutes, would you like to cancel?. ABSOLUTELY ID LIKE TO CANCEL. I wouldve left way before that, but unfortunately I had led bibs covering me and wasnt able to get up. Shame on me for rescheduling, but I did so my insurance would cover my cleaning, and yet again another 45 minute wait in the waiting room. I also saw another family in the waiting room who was forced to leave because their appointment had already been delayed so long and they had other commitments. This place just cant get their scheduling right.. when youre behind, you really should be calling the patients in advance to let them know so they can plan accordingly. Horrible experience.

My hygienist Marilyn is the best. Shes such a nice person. Doctor Hanan is nice as well and thorough. The staff is friendly as well. They are what their name says that they are. Gentle!

I am a former patient and every time I came here I had to wait for at least a half an hour before being called back. Also, I had Medicaid when I went here and they told me I had periodontal disease which Medicaid doesn’t cover treatment for, which means I had to pay over $700 out of pocket. Now that I have private insurance and switched dentist offices, I’ve had 2 dentists and 2 hygienists tell me there’s no way that I ever had periodontal disease. I believe that this practice will tell you something is wrong when it isn’t just to get money out of you.

New patient. I had an appointment at 8am. The door didnt even open until 810am. Got in, waited about an hour. Still not getting called in. I walked out and will be looking for a new dental office. Whats the point of making an appointment if I have to wait over an hour to get called in, as literally the FIRST appointment of the day? Terrible, look elsewhere.

Great staff. Very reasonable prices as they put all your options on the tableforyou to decide. Love that they are not all money hungry and understand not everyone can afford to spend a $1000 dollars to fix one tooth. Only problem is when you call its hard to get a call back or would of given a 10.

I was very displeased with this location they are very rude, not helpful at all. I’ve been to there location a few times an each time they lost paper work or say they sent over paperwork an never did. They gave me a reference to another location to have some work done an that location told me that they hate dealing with them as each time they send over a patient they never give the paperwork needed an always a problem I changed my location an completely left general dental as that is not acceptable would not recommend them to anyone. Even when I called to get them to fix what they did they had bad attitudes it was a horrible customer service experience each time dealing with them.

The girls at the front are all very welcoming. Today I had an appointment at 12:30, I arrived to my scheduled appointment at 12:18 only to find the doors are locked and no one is answering the phone. I did leave a voicemail message for staff. Hours of operation are listed on the front door, Saturday’s 8:00am - 2:00pm. No lights are on and the building is closed. This is very disappointing considering I waited since August for an orthodontist consultation. I also received numerous text through out the week asking me to confirm my appointment, which I had already done. Glad to see how this business is ran before I started treatment. This was very unprofessional to say the least. I will not be returning.

I think that Gentle Dental is one of the more understanding, well run, courteous, and monetary benevolent places that I have been to. I dont want to change from their to somewhere else. They have an extremely efficient staff and the electronics to remind us when our appointments are. All my experiences their were exceptional. I feel that the only reviews that they got were from complainers. They deserve a good from me. Ive been going there for 2 years. I came in for a Xray so I can have my teeth cleaned. Then they said I have cavities.. I came 9 months ago and never had cavities before. After a while I been in the room, some lady came up to me and was like you need to finish your paper work. Its a legal document I dont know why they didnt catch that all the desk you have to mark every question. First sign of unprofessional right there. Then I looked down on the seat and the metal was all dusty filled with dirt and hair like hasnt been cleaned in a few weeks. Theres the 2nd sign right there. Then had another sign when I seen the dentist put gloves on and then go type and use the computer mouse. Then grabbed the tools and started to check my teeth with the same gloves .. Then the assistant left me waiting there for a good half hour thinking they are about do do something... Nope.. I got up to take my Bib off and the blondlady was like.. you cant leave til youre dismissed. Basically wasting my time. She said it rudely... First off Ill leave when ever I please thank you. After seeing tons of bad reviews on this place. Im afraid to come back for a fill in and end up with more issues like everyone else...

I had a really bad tooth ache and they found a way to squeeze me in on the same day I called, as a brand new patient as well. Quickly targeted the problem with kindness and courtesy. I had an infection too so I felt blessed that they made room for me that very day. You dont want to delay when theres an active infection. Thank you Gentle Dental!

My parents and I made appointments for the same day, when the appointments were made we were told it was a $29 new patient special and it included x-rays and an exam. My moms appointment was at 8:30 and my dad and I each had a 10:30 appointment. When we got there at 10, my mom was still in the room. we started to fill out paperwork and the receptionist told us it is actually $49 not $29 that we were originally told. They also said that my mom was going to have to pay an $20 on her way out. We immediately complained that were not going to pay more than what we were told when we made the appointment. My mom had confirmed the $29 price on the phone making the appointments and with the girl who was taking her x-rays. The receptionist said that she could bill us the $20 difference in which we both said no and cancelled our appointments. I was also really put off that it took them over 2 hours to do x-rays and an exam. That was 3 patients they lost today.

All around great visit. I had to go in on an emergency, and they were able to get me in within 24 hours. I had an unpleasant dental situation that had to be attended to, and Dr. Hanan, Tameka and the rest of the staff were friendly, courteous and they were wonderful in keeping me informed, and most of all comfortable.

Totally not happy with my Dentures, they dont fit properly tried telling Dentist that his dental tech did something wrong he did not want to hear it,He keeps telling me that my dentures are fine the just need adjusted when they wont even stay in my mouth without a whole tube of dental glue,I just dont know what to do Im beside myself, So you people out there in need of dental work I would not go there just look at all the bad reviews already! Also if your on Medicaid or well poor dont go here because they just want to treat you and street you!

Went yesterday and the place has changed the staff was courteous and very helpful. Yeah it was busy but that tells me that people obviously trust the dentist and want to be there. I would recommend the place to anyone. Total change so before belittling the place maybe check and see how its been revamped This office is the best Ive ever went to as far back as I can remember I dont see what everyone is tripping about all I had was courteous timely professional help and service I would take my daughter thats how much I trust them

Ive only had an initial exam with x-rays so far but was impressed with the facility and professionalism of everyone there.. It is a very nice and large office. I was scheduled for cleaning and 2 fillings two days later. Its nice to not have to wait a week or more for an appointment.. Unfortunately I had to cancel because it started snowing hours earlier than the weather repots said, and since I depend on a walker could not make it.

About as good as a dentist appointment can be. They were all very kind and understanding even considering the poor state my teeth were in. Very professional and they explain things in an easy to undertand and straightforward manner. Didnt spend the entire time waiting either. Highly reccomend

They seem to be well experienced dentist and staff that ask me questions to ensure theyre doing what I need them to do they do offer the CareCredit there you can apply and you will find out if you were approved within 2 minutes I was not approved Im just hoping they can work out some sort of payment deal with me really happy what theyre down to earth staff would definitely recommend to any friends or family

I’m a new patient and have been very happy! I had my first root canal, and I was very nervous. They were gentle and friendly. Really made it a comfortable environment, had me laughing by the end. Also the front desk is so helpful. They broke down everything for me, so I could plan what I needed to plan for financially.

Very professional and welcoming environment. Dr. Hanan was patient and through with explaining my treatment. The assistant and front desk go above and beyond as well.

The staff and doctors are very experienced and are ready to assist you in any way.

Unbelievable staff Lindsay at the front desk was unbelievably helpful and very polite and caring towards me while I was there… The Doctor Who did my work is amazing I would highly recommend this office to anybody! My new teeth and my new smile look amazing!!!! Thank you Gental Dental!!!
