Dont waste your money moving in here. Management thats in office now is lazy and do not care and take their residence as jokes. Might as well say youre living in the GHETTO PROJECTS. NO respect no empathy they just want to make sure they get their money. But threaten them your gonna move out and break your lease. then management wants to change their tune. Save pure money and your peace of mind
Like many of the previous reviewers stated. The current property manager, has let the apartment complex go. It used to be a decent place to live, now it’s just somewhere to live. The hallways are never cleaned, and they’ve been renovating some of the laundry rooms in the complex since January 2020, Yes you read that correctly, since over a year ago. Whenever you would ask, he would lie and give a date, knowing that he had no intention of having it completed by that time. It was also like pulling teeth to get maintenance requests completed. On top of the complex going downhill, the rent was raised as well. You no longer had the feeling that they cared about getting things done. The bottom line is the rent check, not getting things done for the tenants that were necessary. If you’re still thinking about renting here, good luck you are going to need it.
Been living here almost a year and its impossible to get in hold with the people in the office here. They dont respond to calls or answer door when you knock on office. Never had a more neglect from a apartment staff
Please make sure you follow up with them, when your lease ends. They will give you the runaround, when trying to get your security deposit back. They do not follow the Michigan law, that a landlord must return the security deposit with an itemized statement of deductions within 30 days. If that happens seek legal advice, you’re going to need it. Just a suggestion, do yourself a favor and don’t rent from any of the Nadeer group property’s. Save yourself the headache, it’s not worth it.
When I moved there in 2017, it was a great price for the apartment I got and everyone was very nice. The maintenance staff were super cool and went out of their way for me a couple of times. After the new owners took control (late 2019) it has gone down hill. They raised my rent, started renovating but have yet to complete any of it, and the service isnt good. I had some good years, but Im glad I moved out this year instead of resigning my lease with them. Good luck to anyone considering them... hopefully your building wont flood, back up with sewage, or be under construction.
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Do not stay here. The previous owners were cool. The new owner Ryan took over and upped the rent so my girl and I moved out because we didnt feel it was worth it. Its been 3 months and he is giving us the run around about getting our security deposit. . This guy is a crook. Stay safe, be smart.
Kim has been nothing short of awesome and has helped me along the process so much! She’s very thorough, informative, and has amazing energy! I look forward to being a tenant here just because of how much Kim has made me feel at home already 😊
So when I moved here back in 2018 everything was super phenomenal. The move in process was smooth and I never had issues when it came to maintaining my apartment. However in 2019 when the new company took over they just switched the flip on everything for the worst. I inquired 3 months before my lease was up if the rate would change. Ryan informed me it would be raised by at least 75-100, which for Westland is not appropriate. They never finished the laundry renovations. I gave my 30+ days notice of move out in February.(lease was up in April). I inquired about my security deposit the end of may and they told me it had not been determined how much I would be getting back. I moved out April 17th to be exact. Gave them the keys and everything. They had more than enough time to evaluate the unit. Come June I hadn’t heard anything and from a former neighbor I knew they had already rented the unit out. I did not see a piece of my security deposit until JULY 8!!!!! And they didn’t even respect the fact I paid one month and half rent as my security deposit. They claimed I only paid one month. LIES. then I was charged $100 for stove drip plates which you can buy at the dollar store for $5. Also $100 for carpet cleaning. And some other miscellaneous bs charges when I left that apartment clean. I wrote a letter to management and never heard anything back. STAY FAR AWAYYYYYY.
Rude assistant manager very helpless
Nice and simply place!!!
These apartments have gone to the dogs, in the past year. It’s an absolute joke to live here. The same owner that owns sky gate apartments, currently owns this apartment complex. They’re much better options to choose from, than this slum.
I have never wrote a review in my life. With that being said, They are a very UNPROFESSIONAL establishment. I called multiple times during office hours and left voicemails that were never returned. When I drove up there to see why a call cannot be returned I saw an employee sitting in an office chair with his feet up doing nothing! I had to stand outside of their office and make eye contact with the employee just for them to pick up the phone. After the phone call I was supposed to get an informational email about how to apply to live there. Never got the email. Whoever sits in the office is costing the owner money. I would never recommend this place to anyone who values good communication and respect. They have neither.
My grandmother and grandfather live on these apartments and have for the last 13 years. This complex has recently come under new ownership and the quality has decreased significantly. About 3-4 months ago they removed all the washers and dryers from a few of the buildings and have been giving them the run around on when they will replace them. Every time we try to contact management they are rude, put you on hold, or never return tour phone call! Absolutely outraged at the type of customer service they are providing and we are looking into a new place to call home. They could careless if you are leaving. Would not recommend. It use to be such a great place, just sad.
Since the new owners bought the property in late 2019. I’ve noticed that most of the people that used to live here, have moved out or will be moving out when their lease ends. This place is not what it was when the previous owner, owned it. It is now a trash box, of a place to live. I will be moving out as well. If you’re thinking of renting here, keep looking.
This place has become a wasteland, don’t expect to get maintenance requests completed; or be able to use the laundry facility, that they claim to be renovating, and has been since January 2020. We have been without a laundry room since January 2020. The property manager lies every chance he gets. If you make the mistake of moving here, best of luck to you...
I’ve lived here for several years, and this property has been bought by the Nadeer group last year around August or September of 2019. The quality of service has gone down drastically, and the rent has gone up. The property manager seems to be the only one working in the office, there’s no leasing agent that I’m aware of. He comes across as cold and doesn’t get things done in a timely manner. The building I live in have been without a laundry room. They were reported to be working on it January 21st. Since the pandemic, they’ve stopped, and hasn’t gotten back to finish them as of yet. The parts are outside of the building on the ground, and has been for months. When my lease ends, I won’t be renewing it again.
It was a beautiful place to be
My husband and I have lived here for over three years in a one bedroom. Our family is growing and we are about to move into a two bedroom. We have been very happy with our experience at West Gardens. I have felt safe. The grounds are clean. The staff are lovely people. Whenever weve had a maintenance issue, its always fixed in a timely manner. Instead of moving to another apartment complex, we chose to stay here, because of our great experience so far.
I came by for work today. I was dropping off some appliances when I couldnt help but look at the place. It was very well kept and it didnt look shady like most of the other apartments in the area. The staff was nice to me. It was very clean I really like the area. Id live here 5 stars!
Just out of curiosity I wanted to see the various reviews from tenants here at West Garden Apartments. Was very happy to see the good reviews, but am having a hard time understanding why there were even negative ones for this complex. I’ve lived here for 27 years, and I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. From the owner to the office personnel to the maintenance crew, you could not ask for a better group of people. The staff here go out of their way to make this a good and safe place to live. Whenever a maintence issue occurs, they are right on it. Any other issue a tenant might have is addressed immediately. The grounds are kept up. There are benches all around the complex so you can go outside to sit and enjoy the sunshine on a beautiful day. There is a play area where tenants can take their kids, and if you want to have a picnic, you can simply walk across the street and enjoy Garden City Park for the day.Are there rules to follow? Absolutely! You have to have rules for any community this size, and when I see negative reviews, like the very lengthy one from K, I can only imagine the tenant did something against a rule and was more than likely reprimanded for it. So please, if you want a friendly, safe and quiet place to live, don’t hesitate to live here. A recommendation from someone who has lived here for so long should definitely give you good reason to join this community.
Since they deleted my last review, Ill give them the 1 star they deserve. I lived here almost 4 years ago, and Im glad I left. I wont go into detail, but this place is terrible!
I lived here for 4 years and had a very positive experience with the owner and staff from the 1st day that I moved in. Noise wasnt an issue for me since I lived in an end apartment on the 3rd floor. Larry, Cathy, Bill and Gabriel are wonderful and we constantly laughed. I would more than likely still be there had I not relocated out of state. I miss you guys! (Your favorite former tenant in Bldg F...LOL) 🙂
This place has become a dump, under the current property manager. Do yourself a favor, and do not rent here.
Now that Im leaving this place, Im going to post a VERY honest review. Ive lived here for 3 years and Im so happy that Im no longer going to have to deal with the ignorance that comes along with this complex. When I moved in 3 years ago, it was decent. Quiet neighbors, they kept the families with children separate from people with no kids, and the complex was cleaner. Over the past couple years, they have pretty much rented to anyone, which has attracted a lot of trash. I had my car broken into twice and stolen once. They rent to families who cant control their children and they let them live above people who wish to not deal with children. I had my apartment flooded twice because of children upstairs playing in the tub or running the sinks. Dont even bother calling for help, because they will have you contact the neighbors and tell them to stop running their water. Isnt that what I pay you to do??? And its not like I have my neighbors phone numbers anyway. As of recently, the back corner of the complex has become the local hang out for trouble. Loud music, groups of people hanging out and the stare you down when you walk out the door, litter, broken glass, loud and disrespectful people. This is what this complex attracts... Not worth the $800 a month, when I could move to Detroit, pay $300 and have the same experience! If you are thinking about moving here, RUN!!! Yes, the complex if full (full of what, though?), but when you rent to just anyone, you will get just anyone, and thats not always a good thing, especially for those of us who are civilized and want a quiet, drug free, crime free place to live! Its like a trash recycling facility. Bring in new trash, old trash leaves or gets evicted, and then get more new trash. Its a shame...
I was going to rent there last year and lost out on the apartment. There are no hidden fees like some apartments in the area. The office staff is very professional, punctual, and approachable. The grounds are kept clean. they care about there residents sleep schedules so they post and enforce no loud music in the parking lot. Dont get me wrong I like music but there is nothing like someone coming in with music blaring parking while you are trying to sleep. If they have room for me this year I will do what I should have done last year and move in!
BED BUGS
Owner is nice however office staff don’t call back when you leave voicemails for repairs or anything else really.
These apartments are wonderful and Larry Mazzola is a great manager. He promptly takes care of any problems or issues, his staff is also very kind and helpful. The apartments have recently had many updates.
Leasing Agent Cathie was super nice and very knowledgeable. Came in looking for information on the apartments and answered all my questions.
Honestly was thinking of moving in here. I called a few times and no answer, You guys should probably start answering the phones.. lost a potential renter
I wish we had a balcony but overall I love my apartment. Ive been here for 6 years.
As I write this I’m extremely irritated. For the first year they weren’t bad, just complaints about minor things and bad attitudes, now i’m in my second year and i’m completely appalled with the way they do business. A couple of days ago food began to come out of my tub, called mantinence and the guy (Bill) had an excuse as to why he couldn’t come as he always does. The next day they came and told us the issue and that they would have to put a hole in the floor in order to get to the pipes so they could fix the issue with our kitchen sink and tub. considering that they would be putting a HOLE through my home i assumed that it would be common sense would be that they would put us into a hotel for the duality of the problem until it was fixed. we were told that we should find somewhere to go because it would be loud.... again why not send us to a hotel? we were even told we couldn’t use our kitchen sink- which means there should have been a food per diem, we did not receive one. I work nights so of course I sleep during the day, so you can imagine my frustration that today they are now drilling and i have to be to work, and was told by the plumber that came in that more than likely he would have to hammer a whole thru the floor all the way down the hall to gain the access he needed to the pipe, u was told today would be the only day they needed to fix this house, but when asked when i get home from work if i would be able to enter my home- i was told “we’ll have a piece of wood down so that you can walk in.” but there will be a hole in my entire kitchen AND bathroom. they handled this situation in the worse way possible if you ask me. WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN PUT IN A HOTEL, our rent has never been late, we do not make too much noise, and we do what we are asked, there’s no way in hell that I am being a model citizen to be treated like trash. their main matinence guy (Bill) is extremely rude and lazy! i had to send an email to request that they never send him again. he does not know how to communicate in a respectful manner at all!Other than these issues great place to live, peaceful, quiet, and ive never had anything stolen at all. i’ve never felt unsafe and that’s priority number one.
Good community. Rent is very reasonable. The staff at leasing office are friendly.
Great apartment with spacious rooms but old style
Very nice lady.got ahold of her after a few hours
Went into office for future application, very nice staff very clean office building very impressive survaillence systems...the cleanest lot i have ever seen.....the application brochere looked very nice....very nice residential parking...i dont live here yet but very nice upon getting an application....
New owners just purchased the property this month. Since they came in we have not heard back about our repair requests. I spoke to Ryan in the office and he was very dismissive and rude. I wish the previous owners never sold the property..I will be packing my bags until my lease expires because I know for a fact they will raise the rent.
Nice apartment to live in, very clean and great service, the staff are amazing.
Great apt complex spacious. Bad neighborhood
Its okay
What is the emergency maintenance number
