I moved in on the 15th of August and everything has gone pretty well. Jessica, Patty and Angela are super nice and helpful. The neighbors seem nice as a few of them have said hey how are ya! on my way in/out :) No complaints so far and Id give more stars but Ive only lived here 2 weeks! lol

Seriously I’m so disappointed in this place been here for 4yrs and last year the pool maintenance really went down to the point my son and I cleaned it ourselves and now this is the 1st year ever on Memorial Day we can’t go swimming because the pool is green it’s such a shame since this new company BEZTEK took over our rent keeps going up but our amenities keep going down if I could give this place two thumbs down I definitely would!!!

For our first apartment together, my boyfriend and I really made it home. We definitely feel safe when we are inside, we had trouble with one neighbor and it got taken care of right away by the leasing office. Everyone else we have met has been wonderful. We even made real good friends with our neighbor next door. She brings our dog toys and treats and we made her dinner so she did the same!! The heat in our bedroom is a little out of control even with our AC unit on in the living room. But we manage.Its not perfect but its home and we have been enjoying it here

Why is it June and our pool isn’t open ? Why is the pool still green?

I was in a difficult situation and needing somewhere to stay and Jessica, Patty, and Angela had been fantastic! Once I was ready, the application was run in a timely manner. Even though I was unable to accept the apartment, Patty was SO understanding, and I am incredibly grateful for everyones patience! Thank you to The Meadows on Cherry Hill team!

The people in the Leasing office were really nice and the move in process was flawless. Also the apartment it’s self had new flooring and carpet and was pretty spacious.

I came into the office today to renew my lease and it was a very smooth process with the help of Patti. She is so patient and understanding and goes out of her way to help all residents that need it! I lived here for about a year and a half. The office ladies were always extremely nice, as where all of my neighbors. If I called to need a repair on anything they came the next day. You can pay your rent online which made it so much more convenient. I only moved because rent increased and I was having a baby and needed a bigger apartment (I lived in a one bedroom). The only things I would change would be the location of the washer/dryer. It was kinda scary going in the basement and through a different room. You get a big storage space also. One time I got locked out of the building because there’s a lock and I didn’t have my keys which I was so upset but it is a lot safer that they have the locks on the buildings. There’s also only 4 apartments in a building which I really liked. I would recommend these apartments to anybody.

I just renewed my lease today and Patti took time out of her day to help me get things set up to start having everything done online. Her attitude was helpful and I felt that what ever question I asked, I was not being a bother. My experience today was warm, inviting and I know she truly cared about helping me take care of the online business. I am happy to be living here 1 more year. Everyone at Birch Hill Apartments go out of their way to truly make you feel important. I love my apartment and the community! Keep of the great job everyone!!!!!!!!!

I renewed my lease today for yet another year here at Birch Hill Apartments and the process was smooth and simple. I worked with Patti today and she was patient and understanding and help me have a better understanding of the new lease. Birch Hill Apartments is such a blessing too me to be able to call home. The location is great and its tucked away and is so peaceful. It is secret gem in Westland. Looking for a place to call home? Do not believe the estimates for how much your utilities will cost. I was told I would pay a flat rate for water but my water bill has gone up monthly. I was told the HIGHEST gas bill they saw for a one bedroom was $23 in a very cold January. My gas for September-October was $28 and I keep my heat at 60-65. I was told to expect to pay $40 in utilities but my latest bill added almost $100. Also, my heat doesnt really work, so what gas am I paying for?

Patti is AMAZING!!! I cannot wait to move in to my newly renovated apartment at the end of the month!Update: I’ve lived here a year & absolutely love my cozy apartment. I’ve never had one single issue, it’s so quiet & never any problems here! I feel safe! Patti & Angela are always in great spirits & are so welcoming. Jason, the maintenance man, is always on top of anything when I request something. Highly recommend living here ❤️

Today I went to the leasing office and I renewed my lease for one more year and it was so pleasant. The girls in the office are so helpful, kind and patient with me and help me set up my account and set up my automatic monthly payment. I have lived her for 28 years and it will now be my 29th year and I am looking forward the new year ad all that will happen! Everyone at Birch Hill Apartments (the staff) goes above and beyond to help all the residence! keep up the good job everyone!!!!!!!!!!

I have lived here since 2009 and it has been a complete pleasure dealing with the staff in the office. Angela and Patti are so helpful. I struggled with the online set up and they took time to help me and made sure that is was the way I wanted it. I can not say enough about the staff here at Birch Hill Apartments. Since the new management team has taken over, I have seen the improvements that they have doing and it is exciting to see the changes happening! Everything is amazing!!!!

Took a tour with Jessica, she was very knowledgeable about the community and answered all of our questions. I cant wait to make this my new home!

Angela and Patti have really stepped up to make sure that the complex has been updated. They are very honest, straight-forward, and dont mind if you pop in for a visit to say hello. In fact, whenever Ive had to talk to them, it because more than just taking care of business, but a friendly chat as well. I really appreciate their hard work.

This apartment complex sucks. They cover no amenities. You pay for heat, water, trash and sewage. The heat bill is outrageous. They barely shovel or salt in the winter. They want you to pick up after your dog but are too lazy to clean out the receptacles so you can dispose of it. They have a dog park but there is a giant hole that they wont fill. Also the light thats in the dog park doesnt work. The sidewalks always flood which then causes water to leak into the basement and into the storage areas. The people in the office are always rude.

I just posted a photograph of the overflowing dumpsters and moldy matresses and couches left for months. I moved here a long time before the new management took over. We never had these problems with them. The dumpsters were hardly ever overflowing. The rent and utilities went up and the place looks like a dump. Last winter was a disaster. The sidewalks werent shoveled for days at a time. Some of the basements (where there is storage and laundry) have awful mold and water problems. And the stairs and hallways hardly ever get cleaned even though as another review said its supposed to be twice a month.They need to get basic services under control and stop the upgrades of the apartments until they can do a better job for the people who already live here.I have to say that the people in the office are usually pretty helpful, but we (many of my neighbors too) shouldnt have to keep complaining over and over to get common sense things done. Some of my friends have already moved out because of the problems. All the better for the new management I guess because the rent has gone up about $200!I hope things improve.Oh and Id also like to make readers aware that residents get points toward earning $$ through the resident portal if they do a review, which could account for all of the glowing reviews recently.A couple of good things: quiet and has a small dog park.

It was a very detailed viewing of the apartments, Very nice staff greeted us and made us feel welcomed. Came in nervous because this was gonna be our first apartment, the apartment they showed us was updated and very roomy, would definitely recommend.

Dont move in here. Ever since the new management took over, we have had nothing but problems. They keep trying to change our rent. Every time we call the office for information we get the run around and no one knows the answer. Even though they says that Water, Trash Removal, Sewer are included. They are not. They have been trying to get the current residents to pay for Water, Trash Removal and Sewer even though it is in the lease that they are included and it is illegal to change the lease without 30 day written consent between residents and landlord. We were told that when we sign a new lease as well as the new residents will have to pay for Water, Trash Removal, Sewer. We were told that Water, Trash Removal and sewer would be about $68 a month for all of it plus you pay for your heat. This apartment is not worth that much money.

Ive lived in the Birch Hill Apartments in Westland for about 2 1/2 years at the time of this review, and it has been a great experience and a great place to live. The recent lease management company transition was impressively smooth, considering how quickly it happened and the magnitude of it. I would definitely recommend this place!

My move to Birch Hill Apartments was a very smooth move with the help of Angela and Patricia. If it were not for those two helping me the whole way, the move would have been a nightmare. I chose Birch Hill Apartments because of being pet friendly. I have a kitty and to be able to bring her with me means everything. The staff in the office is willing to answer my questions and help me when I need it. I would recommend Birch Hill Apartments to anyone looking for a new place to live. I cannot say enough about the whole staff at Birch Hill Apartments

This was a great place until new management took over last August. Still beautiful grounds, neighbors are nice and location is great. Unfortunately now no utilities (not even trash or water) is being paid by management. Laundry facilities are handled by a third party. After three tries we finally have a good cleaning crew under this new management. Rent increase beyond cost of living increase. Not renewing this time.

I went to view the one bedroom, one bathroom today with Patti. She explained everything very thoroughly and was welcoming with any questions I had. I was able to walk through a model hwase so I could see the layout of the apartments. She was honest with me and told me for the price range I was looking for it may not look the same, but the updates are beautiful and the people are very friendly. Walking to the model home I saw her interact with one of the people who live here and it wa very personal and friendly. Defiently at the top of my list!

The tour was very nice and informative. The guide, Patti, answered all our questions. The apartments and the courtyards are very lovely.

If I could put 0 stars I would, my apartment was put together to cover many problems . I was told by staff I’d be receiving and new apartment and the one I received is far from that. I have to contact Maintenece every other day and am constantly overcharged with unwarranted fees when they already overcharge to begin with . Staff is unreasonable and don’t seem to care about anything other than collecting a check. I do NOT recommend.—————————— Furthermore, we are towards the end of our lease and will not be renewing at all! The Disposal stopped working, Sliding door handle came off just from opening the door (not properly tightened), bathroom tub peeling, bathroom water runs constantly even when turned off, the handles in the bathroom were both broken since the first week of moving in, the Maintenece guy said everything was improperly wired and that was never fixed and that’s just off the top of my head. Its so many hidden issues with this apartment that they don’t care about because they’ve already gotten what they wanted. (Us to lease the place) I can’t express enough how cheated me and my family feel to live here and we cannot wait until September to get out of here. WE CONSTANTLY FEEL ROBBED every time it’s time to pay rent and seeing all the other similar reviews are just a testimony to how much this place just wants your money and does not care about us living comfortably without unfixed maintenance issues .

I would recommend this place to anyone looking for an apartment in this area. I have been here 2 years and the only reason why I am leaving is because I want to be closer to my job and friends in the Oakland County area. The office staff is excellent, they have absolutely gone above and beyond for me these last 2 years. They always answer the phone and if by an off chance you have to leave a message, they always call back. I never realized how difficult it is to find a place that answers the phone until I had to start looking for new places. They also are very responsive to emails which is helpful if you have a job like mine that doesnt allow much time during the day to make calls. Maintenance is great. They once had to come out on Thanksgiving to replace my door knob on my front door since it got stuck and I could not get out of my apartment. They have also replaced my shower doors with a curtain rod per my request.The pool is always clean and quiet and is never crowded even on weekends. The entire complex in general is very quiet. I have never had to complain about noise or my neighbors, every one here is super friendly.The only constructive criticism I have is that the apartments are a little outdated. The kitchens and bathrooms could use some upgrading. Although, since I have been here they have installed intercom systems, made the parking lot a one way, and have redone the landscaping so I am sure the upgrades are coming at some point.Overall, this has been one of the better places I have had the privilege to lease at and if they had a property in the Royal Oak/Ferndale area, I would move there in a heartbeat.

This place was great...until the new management took over (Beztak management). They accused us of not paying rent because their records did not reflect a payment. We had to go to the office with receipts for the last 3 months.

My building is always kept clean. Maintenance is very quick with their response. I was updated every step of the way.

Based on my experience today I loved it Patti Collum showed me around and she was so nice and interactive still have to talk it over with my fiancé but so we love the service and the apartments!

The apartment was great for the price! The appliances/carpet/etc seemed updated enough. Plenty of parking, felt pretty safe. The maintenance staff was very attentive to whatever we needed. I guess the only complaint I have is that the window in the bedroom opened sideways so I couldnt get an air conditioning unit for my bedroom, so I ended up sleeping on the couch with the AC unit on in the living room for much of the summer. Make sure to keep your balcony door locked because when I locked myself out one of my neighbors was able to climb up onto the balcony and enter my apartment and let me in haha

There is nothing more despicable than a group of professionals that will leave a family hanging to dry for money, that is exactly what Birch Hill Apartments is. My mother decided to move into these apartments for a fresh start. Unfortunately, unbeknownst to her and her family, she had stage 4 rectal cancer and could only be in the apartments for two days. She wanted to be closer to her family, so she decided that she no longer wanted to be apart of the lease. Now you would think that in such a trying time the leasing manager and the staff would work with the family, completely terminating the lease to where that is the last of their worries. I was actually even willing for them to keep the deposit, we were only over there for two days. They did no such thing. Instead, Birch Hill Apartments decided to charge her over $3,000 dollars recommending for the family to post the apartment on Craigslist. Nothing came to light through it so the apartment pretty much forced us to pay the amount. There was no kind of professional negotiation except for that. They had me binded on a contract, even though my mother was dying of cervical cancer, we were only in the apartment for TWO DAYS. Birch Hill Apartments gave absolutely zero empathy and regard for her family or the situation at hand. The most disappointing thing is that in the end, Birch Hill Apartments would not even think of possible alternatives or even lower the price down to something doable in the time being. By far the most horrible experience I’ve had with an apartment, the handling of it was grotesque and really goes to show that all they ever wanted was money. No actual care for the patron living in the unit. No thought, let alone consider the conditions of how things were going.Not to also mention the $78 dollar heat bill that was charged while she wasn’t even over there. They took that out of the $840 dollar deposit, a utility bill. Do you not know how horrible and money hungry that is? Tacky all around and I would recommend no one to live in these apartments. Whole ramification of how everything played out was beyond horrible. Short of professional. I would NEVER do business with these apartments.

Ever since new management came it went down hill. My husband and I couldnt get out fast enough. The list of reasons is a long list. We had an ant problems bc they nested in walls. Old management sent pest control to keep them away. Once new management came in they never took care if the issue. Our fire extingusher was placed in the hallway bc it was expired back in August of 2018. We moved out in March. It was still in hallway. Once I moved out after living there for two years my heat bill stayed at or around $40. Suddenly as they prorated money back to me somehow my last to heat bills supposely was $100+ dollars. We are just glad to be out. Dont think this place is lovely... Really comb the place n ask people around. Many whose lived there long will tell you the same dont sign. There is plenty more apartments but none worse the management than Birch Hill.

Bad place to live over price small apartments base rent would be 850 but after they add everything its almost 1200 not to mention you have to pay to pay your rent now how dumb is that

This place is very run down. Only New tenants get newly updated appliances and some of the appliances in the apartments have been in these units for over 15 years. The leasing agents are RUDE, young, inexperienced and extremely unprofessional and discriminatory! The maintenance men are terrible, they just complete quick fixes in order to get their job done and not have to accommodate you in the right way! Then when u call the rude leading agents, they blame everything on maintenance, which shows no one in the equation cares. Theres never any parking. They failed city inspection in 2016 and still dont do all of what they can in order to keep the place nice, just what they have to, a half ass job. I wouldnt recommend anyone live here.

Watch out for them if youre trying to get the apartment there because they know how to hustle people in their money they didnt pass inspection but they went ahead and made a couple of changes but they charge people like they charge it for a house and its not worth it everything is cheaply put together

Apartments are way over priced, compared to many in the area. Youre paying almost a dollar per foot. The places are not spacious as a 2 bedroom is roughly 750ft. Dont let these companys get your money people.
