I adopted this beautiful little girl nutmeg she’s perfect. I adopted her after I lost my other cat Bali I got her and a few hours later she passed due to vets telling us she was okay and she wasn’t. She loves my dog lilly they are always running around the house and cuddling! The lady that helped up was super sweet took care of us immediately. No complaints at all

I definitely recommend this place. I came in looking for a kitten and at first I had in mind a couple I seen online but when you get there they have a bunch of kittens and adult cats and you’re allowed to interact with them. My boyfriend and sister both came with me and we all fell in love with this little girl she’s so playful and sweet we just had to get her. The adoption process is way smoother then I thought I couldn’t be any happier.

I adopted a wonderful, playful, and cuddly cat from Peggy Adams! They let you come in and play with the cats so you can see which one you like (and which one likes you!) They have many kittens and full-grown cats. Theyre open on weekends too, which is great. The drawbacks: I made an adoption appointment for 1:30, and it was 3:30 by the time they were ready for me. The agent I talked to was hard of hearing and I had to almost shout to be heard over the background noise and through my mask. She also wasnt very knowledgeable about cats. However, I would absolutely recommend Peggy Adams due to their great facility and huge selection of pets to adopt. I live 40 minutes away and I would still go there if I ever wanted to adopt again. I was nervous to adopt a cat, but its gone quite well for me. If youre thinking about getting a cat, I recommend you go for it. All those cute kitties would just love some dedicated attention and a whole house or apartment to explore. I know my cat appreciates it. Check out the orange tabby named Simon--he was my second choice, and it was very close. He loves cheek scritches and has poise and a calm demeanor.

I couldnt speak more highly of Peggy Adams. I go there often with my kids just to love on the kitties. We had 2 14 year old sibling cats so we didnt need to adopt until my Smokey died from liver failure. We adopted 2 gorgeous boys because we still have so much more love to give. They offered behavior therapy if our current kitty doesnt get along with her new 2 brothers. They offer so many services for little money. They even remembered my kitties name who passed and sent me a message thanking me for adopting my 2 new boys and made sure to add theyd never take place of my Smokey. I highly recommend them. I also recommend you follow their suggestions for integrating the cats with your hhouse. I made the mistake and didnt listen. I just opened the cat holder and the cats hid, very well might I add until finally I found them. It has been about 26 hours and we are really working to make them comfortable. I am so happy places like Peggy Adams exist. They truly love the animals and the place is kept so clean. ❤ I hope you follow my advice and go bless yourself with a new fur baby.

This is an incredible facility. It is so clean and the animals are very well cared for. I found my new best friend the very first time I went. You can sense that the staff really care about their animals. I immediately felt comfortable because the staff create such a welcoming environment. Highly recommend checking it out if you’re interested in rescuing a cat or a dog. I love love love my new cat!!

Weve had Goose for 9 days now and what a joy he has been since his arrival! Yes, it did take a transitioning period for him to feel comfortable in a new environment and he came thru it just fine as you can tell from his pic!The staff at Peggy Adams was terrific, all willing to help us make an informed decision on a cat adoption. I recently adopted my forever best friend from Peggy Adams and the staff was great. They explained everything and didn’t pressure me into making a decision. Since adopting him I have taken him back for the drop in training sessions on Wednesdays. I love it. Sandra and her volunteers are great at explaining how to properly train your dog. I’ve learned so much and so has he.

I picked out 3 different adult cats to adopt and each one, it ultimately turned out, had a behavioral or medical or partner issue which would have been a problem for me. I was left pretty much on my own and wished someone was around more to help me make more appropriate choices, or explain how the process works beforehand. After an hour+ I left no closer to a choice.

I adopted a bonded pair of 3-month old kittens (brother and sister) in late April 2021 at one of their satellite sites. From the time I saw their precious faces online to the time I was driving home with my new babies was 3 hours. The process was straightforward and easy to negotiate . My babies have grown to near adult size and have added so much happiness and joy to my life. In return for all this unconditional love, the cost to adopt two very healthy, thriving kittens was nominal and I would have happily paid much. Peggy Adams Rescue is absolutely a wonderful place to adopt a loving and happy addition to anyone’s family.

Three years ago, we welcomed our dog Winni to our 2 senior cat family.This week, my husband and I were ready to adopt another homeless cat after the loss of our much loved, 16 y/o Turkish Angora -Norwegian Forest cat (also a rescue), following dental surgery.After two visits last week, we met that one special feline to join our one dog, one cat family. It was a hard decision with so many wonderful felines available for adoption. We met so many cats from kittens to senior cats in Peggy Adam’s new state of the art adoption center. We found the perfect fit for our family, a sweet and mellow adult cat, named Leo.We appreciate all the time that was available for our visits with so many cats and the staff’s openness to answering our questions about each of them. Where do I begin. Ive heard great things about peggy adams for years and I suggested that my sister take my niece there to adopt a kitten for my nieces birthday. What was suppose to be an amazing first experience for my niece turned horrible. My niece literally cried on her birthday because of how badly we were treated there. The lady, Kathy, that was in charge of the adoption in the cat hall was very unprofessional and dismissive of us. We were there for over 3 hours waiting for a process that only takes 10-15 minutes. We arrived at 12:30PM and had a kitten picked out within 20 minutes. Kathy informed us that was only 2-3 clients in front of us and that we had to wait and we were perfectly fine with that. Then, she told us to go upfront to be helped and we waited there for about 20-30 mins before being told the adoption process takes place in the cat hall and they could not help us. We headed back to the cat hall and waited for our turn, just for Kathy to tell us that there were more people in front of us. An hour goes by and it was supposed to be our turn, Kathy tells she cannot help us because we didnt have an appointment, which she hadnt mentioned in the beginning. My sister went ahead and made an appointment for 2:30-3:00, at this point its about 2:55PM. Then it came for our turn again, she says she couldnt help us cause we had just made the appointment. Are you kidding me?? She claimed although our appointment time was between 2:30-3:00 she had to take another client who had a 3:00PM appointment because they had made the appointment prior to coming in, it wasnt even 3:00PM yet. At this point, my sister demanded to be helped, it was ridiculous how we were being treated and even other clients who were there expressed how sorry they were for us being treated that way. Luckily, Matt came to the rescue and helped us out and we ended getting the most beautiful Kitten. We were so lucky that in the process of Kathy making us wait HOURS, my niece still ended getting the kitten that she had fallen in love with. Matt, we thank you for taking care of us. I honestly believe Kathy does that belong there if this is how she treats people, not to mention she was very organized. There was actually another lady that had an appointment for 1:00PM and I had to personally tell her to stay by us cause they werent actually going by appointment time. Now, Im not sure if Ill be coming to Peggy Adams when Im ready to adopt a pet.

If I could give it a 0, I would. I took my daughter to this place to adopt a Kitten on her birthday, which I thought would be fun and happy experience. We got there at 12:30PM. Within 20 minutes of being there, my daughter had chosen the kitten she wanted to adopt. Kathy, who was the lady who was suppose to help us went out of her way to make sure we did not get any help! She is incompetent, unorganized, and was hateful towards us for no reason. She told us to go to the front desk to get help because she was too busy. The front desk lady told us that Kathy is the one to help. Then, Kathy told us she could not help us because we did not have any appointment. We scheduled an appointment, then Kathy told us she had to help other people later appointment times because we had just scheduled an appointment. Ridiculous! Even other people who were there started getting uncomfortable seeing how my daughter, my sister and I were being treated by this lady. Finally, 3 hours later, after her constantly finding an excuse not to assist us, I demanded to be helped immediately. She went and got her supervisor and she told him Can you help these people?. What?? Completely demeaning and hateful!! Matt the supervisor was very helpful and nice. Kathy, on the other hand, ruined what was supposed to be a happy moment for my daughter on her birthday.

It’s a very great place to adopt dogs that need a loving family. The staffs there are very nice and caring people and it’s a professional place. I adopted my dachshund puppy today and he’s a wonderful companion. I recommend this place to everybody!

We loved the help we received when looking for the perfect addition to our family. Everyone was amazing and very knowledgeable about each kitten. Dont be disappointed if the kitten you were looking for isnt there the staff is great at recommending others. Sometimes they are a better fit.❤️

This is a no kill shelter. It is very clean and organized. All animals are well taken care of and volunteers give animals attention to socialize them. We have gotten all our pets there for many many years. Every one there is helpful and considerate.

We adopted our old lady Diamond Sunday during the clear the shelters event. We were assisted by Ms. Maria she was amazing! Highly recommend seeing anyone there and definitely amazing experience from start to finish!

Tabitha, Matthew, and especially Adam, who handled my adoption, were incredibly patient with me while I was looking for my fur baby and adventure buddy. Adam saw me way too many times in one week at PA but was ALWAYS available to answer my questions and address any concerns I may have had. He took all my calls asking about different pups, walked me through the adoption process, and gave me insight on which pups may be best suited to me and my lifestyle. Adam gave me a plethora of pre and post adoption information that made everything in between a smooth process. I really can’t thank the staff enough for all their help!!

I called a few days ago to make an appointment to get a new pet. With everything going on with COVID I was at a loss and decided it was time. I quickly got an appointment and loved the set up! All the cats seemed to be so happy. We asked them questions, including to see a specific cat that was about to have surgery and they kindly took us to go see her. Not only did we take her home, we took her brother home as well. The very next day after we had the appointment. Our kitties are happy as can be, as are we. After losing my Snowshoe Cat Diego, my household was very sad without him. I went to Peggy Adams Rescue League and met Kathy A., she works in Adoption, she was GREAT!, I told her the type of cat I was looking for and ask her to kept a lookout, and low and behold Loki (aka Asher) came into our lives, he is wonderful and looks almost like Diego.I was so impressed with the staff and how well they keep the Rescue League, all the pets are kept in a good, clean environment. Went to Peggy Adam’s in search of a cat to keep me company. Came across Pal, with a bit of a sad story behind him, but felt like it was the right fit. He’s a bit on the hefty side which makes him all the more cute hahaha. Adam helped me with the adoption process, he was super professional and helpful. Couldn’t ask for a better experience! Kathy was incredibly helpful during the adoption process of my new furry friend. Today was the grand opening of the new wing. My family donated and was honored. This animal shelter is a cornerstone of the community and hopefully will be around forever.

I adopted my sweet Lilly from Peggy Adam’s and was so impressed by their level of care (for all of the dogs and cats) and their beautiful facility. All of the dogs were being walked and there was even a volunteer giving a group a tour of the facility. The adoption process was very straightforward but also thorough — I spoke with the vet before adopting a 14 year old dog and it was nice to know that they were incredibly thorough with those who are taking home pets. Highly recommend adopting from Peggy Adams! Stop by during business hours to see the animals but be sure to make an appointment if you want a play date with any of them!

Very nice. But I have to say the dogs are like men, trying to please, get attention, jumping up and down, pickme! pickme! A thousand times pickme!The cats are like woman. I could take you or leave you, relax I got a life and things to do. And if you dont like it, go into the other room and do that thing you do. I just dont have the time. Make an appointment.

The experience with the workers were not the greatest. I would definitely recommend they work on the customer/people skills. We ended up adopting and dont regret it. The 3 stars are solely based around employee engagement.

I love Peggy Adams!!! Ive adopted multiple cats here and they are amazing. They truly do their part in finding home for these babies and making sure they are going to great homes instead of just trying to clear kennels. They have done so much for my own kitties and for the hurt and stray animals Ive brought in over the years.

Had a bad experience at first but then there emergency line called back to fix it. However the people that work at the actual Peggy adams place 8-5 phone number on Saturday between 4 and 5 pm. Is horrible service to customers. They need to be trained. For the women who kindly helped me afterwards at 6:30pm with my pup. Thank you.

Emily was amazing and kind and I found the cutest dog Charlies! The family loves him and he gets compliments every where he goes. Our pug at home adores him even the cat likes himIf you go early when they open youll get first pick..if you can please dont forget about the pitbulls they giant loving softies and need loving homes too!

Staff is unreliable and I feel so bad for the poor dogs that want to be adopted. The staff is no where to be found and all on their personal phones. I hope those dogs find a happy home! Sincerely, a concerned pet lover.

Peggy Adams has been operating Straight From the Heart since the mid-80s. They are no kill shelter oh, the people that work there are friendly and fun. The animals know that they are in a safe haven and the grounds are absolutely beautiful to stroll. God bless you and your work and thank you for the puppies and kittens!

We’ve adopted from Peggy Adams twice in the past and those experiences were top notch amazing. Today we went to adopt a small dog. We made an appt for the dog we wanted to see. We felt it was a bit unorganized. We were directed to look at ALL the dogs first then meet with an adoption counselor. We already knew the dog we wanted but it was frustrating trying to find someone to help us. We kept walking around asking multiple people for assistance. Finally my husband begged a girl there to find an adoption counselor for us. The counselor didn’t offer many details to our questions about the dog we hoped to adopt. Since the dog was recently in a foster home, I was hoping for more specifics. Sadly we didn’t feel comfortable making a lifelong commitment to a cute dog that had more questions than answers. We will keep looking at other rescues until we find our companion.

A great organization, and an incredible caring & friendly staff. Skye was very efficient in making the adoption process very easy. The facility has been magnificently planned and is wonderful to ensure all animals are most comfortable and given the best care which also allowing them outdoor and fresh air spaces

My family and I visited the Peggy Adams Animal rescue and fell in love with many little ones! I’m a cat lover and so are my kids. The staff was very helpful and answered all of my questions regarding caring for the little kittens. We met with Minx aka Yoongi and she joined our family. I adopted my dog Sophia today. She is very sweet. The adoption coordinators that helped me were very nice. Thank you to Rebekah, Sky, Adam, Tiffany, also the vet techs and veterinarians who took care of her during her stay at Peggy Adams and everyone else. Sophia was very well taken care of and cared for at Peggy Adams. I am so happy to have adopted her.

Had to put my 20 year old lady kitty down today and was met with the most sincere grace and gentleness. I had a private room where I was able to say goodbye in quiet. I was able to hold her as she passed. Completely compassionate. I wish i remembered the vet techs name but she was so kind and used a whispered voice and took my girl in such a sweet and respectful manner. Thank you Peggy Adams for letting me be with her as I said goodbye after so many others wouldnt. Thankful for this place.

Weve adopted two new family members so far through Peggy Adams. As far as I can tell there are great establishment and theyre unlike kennels in the sense that they actually spend quality time with the animals.

We love to go to Peggy Adams, we have been going there for years but the remodel is truly amazing. Its almost better for the animals to stay there, they have their own little apartments, with things to climb on, beds to sleep in, toys to play with, for the cats they even have battery operated fish in big bowls of water for the cats to play with. We like to go play with and love on the animals.

As always very professional. We brought my friends dog Sammy. From my first call this morning and Speaking to PAUL BATES and he gave us directions to where we had to be and nurses would come out for the dog. Thank you Paul.The Assistants were very nice. Spoke in a relax manner which was good for my Diane Matesky.They came back out and told us it was done.Once again Peggy Adams lived up to their name.

I had an awful experience trying to adopt a cat for my son . Customer service is so bad in this place i had to walk out . Noone wanted to help me or even speak to me . Because i didnt have an appointment. Will not recommend noone to come and adopt from this place . Want to adopt go to the animal control they were very helpful !.

I grew up in West Palm Beach, so Peggy Adams was never far away, and their recent expansion really helps in finding the perfect pet. I adopted my oldest dog from them and just recently was helped by Matthew adopting another! Such a wonderful organization doing great work. Adopt your fur kids here!

Too many beautiful cats and dogs to choose from. Rescuing a pet is really fulfilling. Peggy Adams really takes great care of all of the Cats and Dogs in their possession. They make it a great experience and we look forward to the years of Joy ours will give to us.

I was a little skeptical when I saw all of the amazing reviews, but once I got there and met with some of the staff, I understood why it is so highly rated. I went in a few days ago and found my best friend Taylor. The staff there was so amazing in helping me. They answered all of my questions and gave me all of the information they had on my sweet boy. So this past Friday we went to Peggy Adams in search of an addition to our family and we found Capri. She is so lovable and we are so happy we have her.. However, that wasnt the only reason for the 5star rating. We were with Matt and HE WAS ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL. His customer service was excellent and it was a real joy to see the love that he has for the animals you just know right off that his heart is genuine..I would recommend Peggy Adams and the great customer service from Matt to anyone that ask

I want to thank the adoption coordinator that helped us yesterday! Her name was Tiffany and she is amazing. I know quite a few people who have adopted from Peggy Adams and I knew that was where I wanted to go to find my companion. Their facility is beautiful and they all care so much for the animals there. Our forever feline friend was already spayed, vaccinated, and tested for FLV, this rescue really goes above and beyond to re-home these animals. I am so thankful for Peggy Adams!

I adopted two sweet kitties from here. This faculty is so clean and everyone is so sweet! You can tell all the animals are so loved too. I’m from Fort Pierce and drove 50 minutes just to adopted from here. We will be back again when it’s time for another!

Taking my kittens to be neutered & spayed. They are Very organized courteous, helpful and friendly.

I was this afternoon because I had an appointment to adopt a dog, there were three girls at the front who received me terribly I waited for more than half an hour at the end I decided to leave I felt totally ignored and even discriminated I write this without any bad intention but I think we all deserve even a little bit of respect

It was very clean and I like the new setting they have for adoption. The only thing I was disappointed about is we were there we had an appointment for 3:00 to see a dog name unknown . My boyfriend was trying to get some help but the staff at the front were completely ignoring him just told him to go to the left I completely understand if you guys are super busy but we had an appointment for 3:00 to see a dog we didnt know we had to sit at the front and wait for adoption counselor no one told us where to go except for the volunteers I do thank the volunteer in the front for showing us where to go and not giving up on looking for the dog.

I am new to participating in the TNVR program. Scheduling is usually filled up 5 days in advance so its difficult to know if you should actually trap the cat or not, not knowing for sure if youll get an appointment the following morning. Volunteer checking in was quite brusque and short-tempered. This was my first time with this process. other people who are more familiar with it were more helpful as far as the procedures to follow. The information leading up to the trapping of the cat with their videos is very informative. They do have trapping cages that can be loaned or purchased which is very helpful.

After a 3 year battle with a antibiotic resistant infection, my family made THAT difficult decision. Everyone at Peggy Adams, phone receptionist, intake young lady, tech and vet were SO kind to us. Thank you for the dignity you showed my 4 legged family member.🌈🐕🌈

I LOVED my experience and my cat that I adopted is my absolute soul cat that I am sooooo grateful for. I traveled all the way from Broward up to adopt from this shelter because I was over all the red tape that all the shelters down here were putting out to even walk into a place! Thank you for actually having the animals that you have on your site available...most down here are gone DAYS before the picture showed up!

The shelter is really cared for. The animals are very well cared for and fed with fresh water. The workers and volunteer are friendly and answer questions.

I have been bringing my pets here for many years. I am extremely happy with the care my pets receive 🐶 🐈‍⬛

This is some place..huge, need an appointment, but they take very good care of the animals, that are brought in...whether they are there to be spaded, dropped off, God bless these people..THEY CARE!!! any donations should be sent their way.

I love this place, great service would recommend. The only thing is if you cat has a heart condition you have to get an appointment under TNVR (Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return) so they can monitor your cats heart during the spaying procedure. Otherwise from that, this is a great place and they really care about your pet.

I recently adopted a sweet little dog and would like to highly recommend Peggy Adams to anyone interested in adopting. The entire staff is very friendly and go above and beyond to assist you in the process of adopting. I love that I was able to learn all about my dog after a review of her personality by the behavior specialists and medical team. The adoption fee was very reasonable after spaying and micro chipping my new fur baby. I love the continued support I receive if I have any questions about her health or behavior. I am delighted with my new addition and with Peggy Adams Rescue.

They hurt my one year old standard poodle during surgery she was getting spayed and came out and the vet told me she has something leaking from her nose she seemed nervous offered me antibiotics... Which I did not refuse but I did ask a question why would she need antibiotics the day of surgery and now they wont give me the antibiotics they did something wrong and wont tell me what it is!! STAY AWAY!!
