Great dojo with knowledgeable instructors. Welcoming to beginners of all ages. A real community feel.
My daughter began training here when she was 4-years old. The professionalism and care of the staff have helped her focus and have improved her confidence and behavior in her daily life. Sensei Ward is firm and fair with the children, giving them opportunities to learn and grow while holding them accountable to behavior and showing results.I highly recommend this dojo and Aikido to any parent looking for a nurturing, instructive and supportive martial art for their children.
Paul Sensei has made it all possible for me to be able to join Ki Aikido classes from Mexico! This has been the most amazing thing for me that allows me to keep my practice. I am joining since 2020 and definitely look forward for long learning and integrating of this practice. Even through challenges of distance zoom learning, I am able to sense the professionalism, the care, the sense of togetherness. Paul Sensei has supported even other children to learn through distance here as well. We look forward to bring other children and extend Ki Aikido to other people that doesnt usually have this access. I AM SO GRATEFUL WITH West Linn Ki Aikido and Paul Sensei - hoping to get further into my practice and also your retreats!
My daughter and son have been learning Aikido in West Linn Ki Aikido since we moved here from China two years ago. They had learned Wingchun, but Aikido gives them a combination of martial practice physically and mentally, to help them overcome themselves instead of cultivating violence or aggressiveness. It is really an art full of belief and philosophy. And the Senseis are super nice and professional. Highly recommended for all martial art lovers, especially kids and teens to learn!
The dojos atmosphere is positive and respectful. The sensei are skilled, motivating, and caring teachers. I am thankful to everyone (sensei and students) at the dojo for following safety guidelines to a T, pivoting to Zoom classes, and providing equipment to enable students to keep practicing the art at home. We initially joined to try something new. For us, its turned into a family activity. Kids get to throw their parents!
My son has been here from the beginning and even got me involved! It is a great atmosphere and is built on camaraderie and desire to help each other grow. The instructors and students are respectful and supportive. I highly recommend this as a place to develop a sense of self and understand how perspective drives reality
My son has been attending classes here for (3) years and loves it! Th instructor Sensei Ward and other instructors are great with the kids. Their ability to teach self control, calming mind and body and garner respect for authority is amazing. I would highly recommend West Linn Aikido.
My family has been part of the West Linn Ki Aikido community for over three years and we love it! All of the Aikido instructors are absolutely fantastic, so supportive and positive. There are classes for every member of the family! I highly recommend trying a class!
My kids and I have been attending the West Linn Dojo for over a year now. We love it! The classes are super fun and productive. Everyone is really friendly and the lessons learned have helped our family, school, and work life. I am so glad that I joined.
Watching the community at West Linn Ki Aikido build has been a proud moment for our family. The kids program in particular is great. the parents and kids all take a great interest in building one another up. A great environment for kids to learn discipline and confidence.
The community of the West Linn Ki Aikido Martial Arts dojo consists of nearly 20 wonderfully supportive families looking to improve the lives of their children, themselves and their community. We invite you to join us to see if learning about mind & body coordination, discipline, confidence, meditation, conflict resolution and a traditional martial art are right for you. We teach people to enact positive change in their lives.
My 6 year old has been training here for a year and some odd months. Over that time, he has developed more confidence in his abilities and learned how to use and extend ki, both in and out of class. There have been times that he has wanted to quit, but he has stuck with it and it is now his favorite thing to do. Several times a week he will ask, “do I get to go to aikido tonight?!” The Senseis are great with kids - patient, encouraging, friendly. Highly recommended!
A super place for training at all ages!
