I booked my appointment online and it was super easy. Ashlynn was very pleasant and explained the process to me since it was my first time getting a facial and massage. It was an incredible experience and I will be back for more.

I had my entire wedding party get their hair and makeup done at Estilo and it was truly a terrible experience. The staff was extremely rude to almost everyone in my bridal party and had an attitude towards anyone who wanted to fix something about their hair or makeup. They almost completely refused to do airbrush on a few of my bridesmaids even though these details had been confirmed weeks in advance. Although everyone’s hair and makeup looked great it was not worth the stress and rudeness we had to deal with.

This was my first visit, It was great. Staff is very friendly and down to earth! I am definitely going back!

I cannot recommend Chelsea at Estilo Salon enough! She provided a wonderful waxing prior to my wedding and an absolutely beautiful makeup application day-of. Very professional and super talented!

My husband and I received gift cards to Estilo so we decided to use them on massages. When I booked the appts the receptionist told me there was only one massage therapist working that day and asked if we were fine with back-to-back appts. She said there is a spa room or sauna that we could wait in while the other was in the appt. I said that was fine and booked. We arrived and checked in. We had never been there and they didnt have us fill out a form, take any info, etc. I thought maybe we would fill out a form in the spa room. There were no open seats in the reception area so we shared an ottoman...awkward. I received a personal call and stepped outside to take it. When I came back in my husband had been called to his appt. I asked about waiting in the spa room and the receptionist looked at me like I had grown a second head. The other receptionist took me back to the room. The room consisted of a couch, chair and several dirty glasses. Ive been to a spa nearby and was offered wine, soda, a robe, slippers, etc. I wasnt offered anything, not even water. No mention of the sauna either. As I was waiting a worker took a personal call outside of the room about her microwave catching fire as she was making popcorn....not very relaxing. No one stopped in to check on me, have me fill out a form, nothing. At this point I was pretty irritated. My husband got done and came in the room. He booked a deep tissue which he said consisted of the massage therapist jabbing her thumbs in his ribs. He is not picky and Ive never heard him complain about a massage before. I was done at that point. We went to the front, paid and left. They didnt asked why I was leaving, didnt want my massage, etc. Will never go back and have a gift card that I have no desire to use and will probably give away to someone. So unprofessional, especially when there is competion right down the street in West Glen.

I have never been more disappointed in my entire life my sister went there to get her roots touched up. Little did we know that their stylists would be so incompetent that they would have burned my sisters skalp to the point that its still falling out a month later. Im unbelievably passed off I cannot recommend more that you should never go there for any reason. And if you do and they tell you that there a new stylists run the hell away. P.s if they allowed a 0 star I this review would have that.

I always get a top quality haircut from Madison. The facility is nice, and efficiently run. Pricier than what i want to spend, but worth it.

Got my Hand Tied Extensions done by Micheala! I am in love with how they turned out. The Hand Tied Extensions have exceeded my expectations. I don’t ever really notice that I have them and they never show, even in a messy bun or high pony tail. They have added great volume and length. By far the best option out there! I would recommend Estilo Salon and Day Spa and Micheala to anyone looking for their hair goal expectations to be met!!

Came in at 3:00 and I guess they really wanted to leave because as soon as it got close to closing time they basically gave up and ruined the back of my head AND my 12 year old daughters hair. Both of us have extremely uneven hair in the back and the “styling” they did for my daughter consisted of teasing out the hair on the top of her head causing split ends. Guess we hit amateur hour, will never be going back.

I love their package deals for valentines or Mothers Day. Booking online is so incredible and I love it. And they are at a great location and the staff is fabulous! I highly recommend this place!!!!

Excellent work done here- my favorite nail expert Brie did my pedicure yesterday felt so pampered. Did the pedicure with my teenage niece and she LOVED it (she was used to all the mini mall pedicures). Toes look terrific and they did need work! Now, need to book a hair appointment with my stylist there- its been awhile. Great place!!

Absolutely the most amazing salon for lash extensions. Laurie is very talented and they have reasonable prices. The lashes they use are light and natural, they are very knowledgeable about the process and are always properly applied, one extension per lash. Absolutely the best quality and service around. They cannot be beat for lash extensions. Highly recommend.

I absolutely love going to Estilo to get my hair done. My stylist- Michaela Meyer- is amazing. She not only does my hair perfectly to what I want but she also helps me with my hair issues and what my hair NEEDS. I always come to my appointment feeling horrible about my hair and leave feeling confident. She has become someone I’m blessed to know. Highly recommend her to all.

Great place. I came here after traveling to get a massage and facial to relax, they managed to squeeze me in when I desperately needed it. Very relaxing, nice place, good environment. A little pricey (for Des Moines, not compared to larger cities), but you also get what you pay for, definitely. Definitely worth it!!

I chose Estilo Salon for my wedding hair and makeup and they were phenomenal!!Faith Berry did my wedding updo. She did a great job listening to me in the trial and created a beautiful do that matched my style and went well with my veil! You can tell she’s passionate about what she does. She was even helpful at talking to me and calming down my nerves the day of the wedding. Highly recommend her!Carissa Launderville did a lovely job on my wedding makeup! She made sure it was natural while still making me feel like a beautiful bride. It was very flattering on my skin tone and didn’t irritate my sensitive skin at all! The first time I went here I got my nails done by Emmy and she did an AMAZING job. I honestly dont plan on going anywhere else to get my nails done. It was typical nail salon prices, maybe on the higher end, but it is honestly worth it because Emmy is SO nice and does such a good job.In your first visit to the salon you get coupons off future services, which is nice and also the reason I decided to go back and get my hair done here.I went to a nice girl who did a wonderful job, but the place she was cutting my hair was very awkward. It was literally 3 feet from the door and one foot from the register. I felt like everyone coming and going was staring at me.And the price listed online says hair cuts are 35+ and they mean PLUS. I had a 10 off coupon and a coupon for a free brow waxing and it came to $57!! And I obviously had to leave a tip. Im sorry, but that is a lot for a college student and I even used a freaking $10 coupon.The lady also didnt do anything fancy to my hair. She washed, cut, and barely blew out my hair.Im sorry, but I am not going back to get my hair done there. If you can afford a nearly $70 (plus a hefty tip!) cut then go for it! But I know there are TONS of other places in Des Moines you can go and get the same quality hairstyle for 30 bucks...

This is not the salon and spa that it once was. Ive been very disappointed in the spa services lately. In the last few weeks, I have received several facials from Estilo. In that time, I have put up waiting 45 minutes past my appointment time, feeling like the esthetician was rushing through the treatment by not offering much pampering that you would expect from a spa. This is how my last appointment went:Appointment time was for 12:15 pm. Waited 1/2 hr. Approach the front desk and inform them that I have been waiting. They proceed to tell me the esthetician has been running behind all day -- all day.So Im thinking why didnt they call to reschedule? They said one client showed up extremely late. Why didnt they deny her services for being late instead of causing the other customers the inconvenience? Ive come to the conclusion that they do not care!They didnt care that I waited over a half hour. They didnt care about the shortcuts in my treatment. They didnt care to offer any kind of discount for the inconvenience. They didnt even care enough to call prior to the appointment to tell me about the setback. The owner of Estilo knew all this was going on and just looked at me with a smile. Obviously, she chose to act clueless and she didnt care. I had to hear 3 times about a broken clock during my appointment. Im supposed to be relaxing. Please dont tell me about your broken clock.Ive always tipped quite well at Estilo for the services I receive. This day I did not tip. ...The 2 receptionists made eye contact with each other. They smirked, and then they looked at me as if to be appalled about not tipping. ... I guess when it came down to it, they cared about the tip. ...But I Didnt Care!Theyve never once called to try to make things right for a customer that has been with them for 12+ years.45 Minute Wait + Inadequate Services = No More Business For You

Had a shellac manicure today. Girl asked if they looked ok--upside down they did. When i got outside i could see the brush strokes. Awful manicure. waste of money. Now i have to pay to get them taken off.

Viki was my massage therapist . First time shed worked on me . I said before we started that I could handle pretty deep pressure . She deliver perfectly ! Definetly recommend her !

They are really good at haircuts for women in their mid 40s and up

This was my first and unfortunately last time at this salon and spa. I got my eyebrows waxed and had Michaela Balaski. She was very nice but did not do a good job. I have been to many salon and spas before and this is just unacceptable. Very nice staff but not happy with the results. I would not recommend this place for eyebrow waxing.

Okay, let me start this first by saying that my 17 year old cousin was the one with this experience and that we WILL be in there this evening to get a complete refund.Yesterday, she went to Estilo to get more blonde and pink hi lights placed in her hair. When I tell you that she left and was bawling because of the mess of a job that Brittany did, I mean it. We all know how important our hair is to us as adults but to a 17 year old its even more important. You guys should have reenable to look at her hair and see that it is not what she asked for.As I stated, we will be in this evening for a COMPLETE refund.

Nice hair salon, but after getting my nails done I was very disappointed with the quality of my shellack manicure. The same night that I had my nails done, one of my nails chipped. I didnt do any labor work that would provoke this nail chip. I was disappointed, but didnt decide to write a review. 2 days later a total of 4 of my nails chipped. A week later 4 of my nails just peeled clean off. They were already basically hanging off at this point. Shellack nails should last at least 2-3 weeks, and mine barely lasted a week.

Terrible. I googled nicest salon in Des Moines and this salon came up. ITS NOT. Scheduled for high lite touch up and trim. Two different people doing each. Highlite first. They are super brassy uneven and chunky and dont go to my scalp. When hair still wet I was taken to another person to cut it. Color not even checked. No one talked to me or even tried to make conversation. I felt like an inconvenience and couldnt wait to get out of there. My hair looks worse than before the service. Now I get to go spend more money somewhere else to fix this hair.

Horrible service! I took my daughter to have an ombre done and it came out horrible! half the side the ombre goes abover her ear and the other side you cant even see the ombre. Tried to reschedule with someone else that could fix it and give her what she wanted and they refused to let her see anyone else in the salon! I even told them I would pay oif they would just have someone else capable of doing it correctly fix it, but still refused. I will be taking her to a different salon tonight to get it fixed!
