I took my almost 6 year old in today and the women who did our pedicures were absolutely amazing! They listened to exactly what she wanted and explained prices to me as we went. I did the spa pedicure with shellac and my daughter did a pedicure with a shellac mani. My pedicure was super relaxing and my daughter was treated like a princess. We will definitely be returning!

Andy is the most amazing not only nails but personality wise. I take my little girl here and she adores going because he is so engaging and does her nails exactly how she wants them!

I have tried quite a few nail places in the West Des Moines area over the last year or so, and Andy’s Nailbar is the best by far. The salon is clean and they always do a beautiful job. My dip powders always last 2+ weeks and the color selection is phenomenal! I always come back and have found my nail spot!

Andy is awesome! I came in 30 min before they closed (i know, I suck) and he was so nice to do a full set acrylic with gel polish. They are absolutely PERFECT. My nails are perfect, and exactly what I wanted. My mother got a full set of acrylic pink and white French tips and loves her nails. The spa pedicure was lovely and very relaxing. Very poor, I first tried the nail gel and asked for a red wine color and did not do the same color I asked for a change of color but the material was not used professional and when I lifted the gel material it hurt me from under all my nails & the top, it had a scratch 😓

My mom and I have been going to Andy’s for about a year now and have always found Andy to be a little rough around the edges at times but were able to overlook it and move on. However, after our last encounter there it is safe to say we will NOT be going back. We got to the salon for our appointment and from the get go Andy rushed us, told us that when we called we did not make an appointment for the correct things and when we told him we could come back when they have more time for us, he talked down to us and told us that we are wasting more of their time talking to him. He then would not let the subject go and would keep coming back to tell us what we did wrong and even went so far as to call us stubborn. After being talked down to and being treated disrespectfully for almost 20 minutes we had to walk out.

Seriously, this place is great! My guy is Toky and is unbelievably talented. My coffin nails are drop dead gorgeous, sexy and just wow! I have never had so many heads turn and complinents, because the truth is - Toky is an artist!

Brought a group of 14 here for wedding nails and we had the best experience. Our nails turned out great and they got us all done in a very reasonable amount of time. Andy and his staff were very friendly and we felt very welcomed! I would highly recommend

My dip manicure turned out ok, lots of bubbles in the polish. My pedicure bowl water was cold, and it took 2 hours to complete a basic pedicure with regular polish and a dip manicure. While my nails look pretty good, the experience was very underwhelming for the price.

I had my nails done on a Monday! By Wed 3 were chipped ! I stopped on Thurs and they repaired what they could! 3 were short and the others chipped! I have had my nails done for 15 years and these were the worst ever. Cost 40 and I had given her a 10 tip! What a waste! Never have written a bad review ever. Looks like a big turnover in their nail people, too!

This place is great. The people there all very friendly and professional. The environment is very inviting and playful. They have a full bar which is cool and most important the quality of the nail work was awesome. Definitely my new spot and would recommend to anyone in the area. I had a appointment at 3:00 waited 45 minutes didn’t know who was going to do my nails because some of the staff can do certain designs and some can’t. My toes don’t match my nails at all. My nails are not what I wanted. 116 dollars later my nails don’t even look like what I wanted at all. I would recommend if Andy isn’t the one doing your nails DON’T GO THERE AT ALL!!!! I can’t believe I even paid that amount. I won’t be going back & I will just stick to my old shop. The staff is nice though. The lady that did my nails didn’t even tell me the price for anything. Any other time I would complain & get them done correctly but at that point I was ready to GO!!!

This place is the best in the Metro area. Very relaxing environment. Great music. The best part is you will LOVE the way your nails look when you leave. Great massage techniques. Great choice of colors. Seven made me feel like a rock star. I love, love, love this place. Andy and the crew are all awesome! Highly recommend.

Andy got me in within a half hour notice, and Logan did my nails. AMAZING job, they were the perfect color and length and the staff worked with me to help me match my shoes. Logan started a color on my thumb but I ended up not liking it, and he switched it right away with no extra charge or problems!! Will definitely be coming back soon!

Very unorganized, their dip nail manicure consisted of 4 layers plus gel polish, which was WAY too thick. The owner also called my friend (whos black) Whoopi Goldberg which I thought was totally offensive and inappropriate.

Lori does an excellent mani/pedi! And always has very creative design ideas. This is also the most sanitary salon Ive been to, they have all single use supplies and use a liner in the pedicure station.

Always great service here and treat my daughter so well! We love going together. They do really great designs!

It’s disappointing to have the share my experience. NEVER get a wax here the “room” is a closet no door or curtain, that is just full of clumps of dust cob webs. The bed you lay on has a layer of dust and nail grindings. With nail chips and zero covers over the wax pots, not to mention double dipping with wax sticks for every customers bodily fluids to contaminate each other. They are double dipping their wax sticks back into the pot which using warm wax onto someone’s skin pores bacteria (they did not sanitize her skin before spreading wax) then after spreading the same stick is dipping back into the wax container to spread more over and over and over. Next it will be spread onto another customer. This is how bacteria and viruses such as herpes spreads! Unsanitary and dangerous. The floors are slippery from the amount of nail powder and the tweezers were not even cleaned before used on my friends eyebrow! I asked the manager about the sanitation of the wax with double dipping sticks and he said “it’s fine “. While looking at nail colors we were cut off being told what color to use. I was ignored when I asked for water and ignored when asked about the tweezers! I willNever be back please be aware of the hazards and concerns there are. if they are not sanitary with wax and tweezers I bet you all tools and products and glasses have the same care.

Great salon, they just added a bar slightly separated from the family area. Amy & Seven are the best nail techs but call ahead if you want them, they are busy. Walk-ins can always be taken if you dont have a favorite tech.

Had an appointment for dip nails. Staff was extremely friendly. Very clean environment. The gal seemed to have rushed while doing my set. I started at the same time as my friend and was done way before her. I asked to correct the shape I wanted. They were soo bumpy and still wasnt the shape I kept telling her I wanted. Her son was in the salon as well. He would keep coming up to her while i working on my nails .

Went here for pre-wedding nails. The staff was amazing and they kept our champagne glasses full! The massage chairs were the best. Cant wait to go back!

My daughter had her nails done, she had them run her card. Then the girl said it was the wrong amount, and instead of charging the difference, she ran a full amount AGAIN. When my daughter saw her bank statement, she brought it to their attention that she was charged twice. They called her a liar and blamed the bank.We will be turning this over to the bank to investigate this fraudulent charge.You lost a loyal customer.

Normally have a great experience and my nails looks awesome. I called made an appointment, didn’t get the lady I normally do, okay fine. Picked my color and they didn’t give me the correct color I asked for and the lady doing my nails didn’t check to see if that’s what I wanted. Some of my nails broke so she put tips on and they look chunky and unnatural compared to my real nails. Very disappointed and unsure if I’ll go back. She seemed uninterested in doing my nails and was a very uncomfortable experience.

Honestly the worst nail salon experience I ever had. Very poor quality service. Never ever had I been so disappointed with a basic manicure. The tech did a terrible job. Never going back. I have no clue why this place has so many good reviews.

I love everybody there. Ive never been disappointed with my nails. Dede does my nails every time and remembers what we did before. This place feels like a good friends home (and I rarely hear people speaking to each other in any language other than English if thats something that makes you uncomfortable). I wont go anywhere else!

Brought my mom here because I know exactly how well Andy and his team treats their customers. We came to our fill/pedi appointment, were greeted by friendly staff and directed to choose our colors. The staff were incredibly understanding of my mom’s situation (another nail place botched her nails previously) and got her fixed up perfectly.I got a fill and decided to add some bling - which seems to be Andy’s specialty since he did such beautiful work. Mom also got accent nails which Andy designed and painted himself and are perfect for what she wanted. We felt welcomed and pampered the entire time! Highly recommend Andy’s NailBar and will be directing all of my friends to come here for any nail pampering needs!

We went here for a girls night and had an appointment set. I got a full dip set, as that is what I regularly get at any other place. They had a wide range of colors and, initially, were very kind. They directed us to a few chairs and the ladies that came seemed to be annoyed that we were there with little to no interaction with us. My technician started on my tips and began shaping it to my requested coffin shape (which really just turned out squared off). As she filed my last nail, it popped off. Thinking things like this can happen, I had no concerns. Her drill was on a very high setting to be put on natural nails and had started to burn, she used a drill bit too close to my cuticle and ended up nipping me - the FIRST time Ive ever been cut in the 10 years Ive had my nails done. Before I could say anything she directed me to wash my hands. I examined my finger and saw no blood so thought maybe it would be fine. She continued with dipping and the end result? Lumpy and uneven. The next day, I took a look at my nails and saw my cuticle red and sore, the shape crooked, length uneven, and bumps on the surface of my nails. I always seek out to try new salons and wanted to give them a go. Unfortunately I will not be returning and on the hunt for the perfect salon for me.

Very disappointed. My appointment was at 3pm I waited 45 minutes as did 4 other people. Very disorganized one lady even came for a booked appointment and had to come back two days later because the nail tech was over booked. As for my nails very poor quality for $47! I will post photos...parts of my nails aren’t covered because they are too skinny...the underside of my nails and skin had debris from the new dip. During the service the tech talked poorly about my previous nail salon (who I go to regularly) I just came to Andy’s for a new experience and new color choices...very unprofessional. I will be staying with my regular nail tech up the road who’s organized, detail oriented, and professional. I do not recommend Andy’s nails if you value your dollar and time.

DO NOT GO TO ANDYS NAILS!!! Absolutely terrible customer service. Wasn’t a huge fan of the final product so I asked if I could maybe change color and Andy (the owners) attitude completely changed and he became extremely rude. Claimed that I was treating him like a “slave”. Made a huge scene with lots of customers in the salon and made it seem like I disrespected him after he decided to treat me terribly. Will never go back EVER!

I met 2 extremely nice people at Andys Nails today, - Amy and Seven! Yes, Seven! They were fantastic! Amy started with me but the polish I had picked was not drying fully (it was not OPI) and the decision to remove it and start again was made. Since she had another appointment, Seven was called upon to remove the nasty polish and re-do my nails. So, he removed the polish, and started over again. Mid way through, we both noticed the polish was crazing and not drying again. So, once again, he removed the polish but this time we decided the polish was bad and switched to a new OPI color. Right decision! I am totally happy with the results. Name of the polish - SUZI & THE 7 DUSSELDORFS. How great is that??? :) :)

This was my first and probably last visit to Andys Nail - thats how unpleasant my experience was! First annoying thing was - even though I had an appointment and came in time they made me wait for 20 min. Second - I had to watch and make sure the tech does the right job after I found my nails uneven and tech forgets to file them (!) (mind you the tech got pissed at me for telling her how I want my nails to look like....yes, Im serious!!) Third annoying thing was that tech was trying to sell me shellac when I wanted regular polish french) and even I told her multiple times - I dont want it she got irritated with me for not buying shellac!...speaking about customer service....they have no clue...lol. Then next very annoying thing was that 2 mail techs were so loud across the room laughing, making sexual remarks about some girl...it got so intense that one of them nearly fell from his chair! So, instead of spending an hour and feel relaxed I spent nearly 3 hrs (!!) and left extremely irritated and had a growing headache! And for this I paid the top dollar! So, no...I wont be returning to Andys Nails in Waukee.

Very upset with how my nails turned out. I usually go to the andys nails in des moines but since I live out in Waukee now I went to the Waukee one and the guy who did my nails just seemed very distracted and didnt seem to care. None of my nails are the same length and I wanted my nails to come to a point (stiletto) and my nails are rounded. One of my pinky nails are twice the length as the other one. Im not the type of person to say anything but Im very disappointed.

Just changed to this shop a few weeks ago - very pleased. Havent had a pedicure yet, but will soon review as well.
