Resident here since 2016. Ive been happily living here since day 1. The apartment itself is modern and cozy place to call home. There are plenty of nearby grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants, and freeways. Its a convenient location.April and Alyssa, with management, are the coolest, and most helpful. They are a true asset to living here. Maintenance when needed is responsive, and get the job done quickly. An awesome community app is available for maintenance request, community forums, and more.I havent not experienced what most of the negative reviews state, so dont let them discourage you. Its all rubbish. Its honestly really great here.

After moving in here several years ago I quickly regretted it. I’m a disabled veteran and have disabled placards, but the maintenance man Greg always parked in this spot without a placard. When asked if he could not park there he said park somewhere else. He then had my car towed a few weeks later even though my placard was visible on dashboard. They continued to park in the disabled spot when he could. Too many privileges given to the staff.

My shower broke and they fix it right away with the help of an expert. Very professional. Thanks to the girls at the office always available for any situation.

I had the best experience at 1231 Apartments! I met with Holy and from the beginning She was so caring and professional! She was very detailed and made sure She found the perfect home for me. This location is amazing! It is conveniently located to plenty of shopping & dining. The community itself has amazing amenities and the managers Alyssa and April are so friendly! I toured many different properties and Im glad I ended up at 1231! I would definitely recommend this community.

Alyssa went above and beyond to help me and my boyfriend out with our new home.We had a terrible experience with another apartment complex where on the day of our move, the complex had did a bait and switch on us with the apartment that we sign for. Two of our requests were that we have no stairs in or outside of the apartment and newer appliances. That complex assured us that it was what we would receive and we even waited two weeks past what we initially planned on to move in. When we got there, on moving day, the apartment had stairs and very old appliances. They also refused to work with us on choosing another apartment or accommodating us in any way.Luckily, we had seen Twelve31 before and immediately dashed over to the complex to see if any apartments were available. A perfect two bedroom, downstairs and what appears to be newly renovated apartment was available. Alyssa worked with us from 11:30am to 5pm on getting us in to our new home. We were able to move in that day! Twelve31 and Alyssa made the whole process so smooth and stress free. We are more then happy in our new home.

I just moved into twelve31 last month and it has been nothing but amazing. The management has been there for anything I need and extremely welcoming. I’m beyond satisfied with the community and area, I looked all around San Gabriel Valley and nothing els compared. Clean, quiet, friendly, private, community. Well worth it.Thanks again twelve31 staff for all your help.

Living at twelve 31 apartments has been a great experience. I’ve been here for 3 years and each year the apartments continue to add more amenities. From a nice size gym, to a recycling option and well around security guard . What I like best is the office staff. Everyone is always so helpful and so understanding when it matters most. Thank you for a great experience all around.

Ive been here for a few months and I love our apartment. When we first moved in everything was nice and clean and any questions I had at any time were all answered right away. The girls in the front office Alyssa, April and Holly are on top of any questions that we ever have. And when we first moved in they made it such an easy experience. The location is amazing too!

So far my experience has been nothing but pleasant! The staff is really nice and accommodating, and so is the community. This was my first time renting and the leasing office has made it super easy for me, always being understanding of my circumstances.

After being a resident here for several years. I can honestly say I absolutely love it here. Simply put its a place I call home. The landscape is beautifully manicured as I am proud to have my visitors walk through, the amenities of the community has surpassed my expectations, from the community events, gym, newsletters. roving security. bbq and pool area, as well as valet trash just to name a few. I marvel at the floor plans of my spacious 2 bed, 2 bath apartment, especially my master bedroom as my California King, 60 television, 5 foot dresser,.nightstand, 2 round glass coffee tables and lounge chair fits comfortably. I also relish the overall pulse of the community which usually tenders a smile and quick greeting from neighbors or passersby during the day as they go about their way, while A quiet calm consumes the evening into night as most are settling in from the day.All of this is complimented by the Community Staff through the leadership of the Community Director April, and the shared vision of her Asst. Com. Dir. Alyssa, and leasing consultant Holly, which have all demonstrated to me to possess a laser like focus towards resolve, improvement, results, and resident satisfaction. I have had the pleasure of interacting with them all, and although their answers may not have always been a yes, their professionalism, respect, and courteousness, has never waivered and continued to be steadfast and loyal in their efforts towards assistance and resolution,And yes I have heard others speak of price, but we all know, and I am a true believer of the undisputed fact that you get what you pay for The cheaper the price, the cheaper the merchandise and or goods and services. thats just the way it is.I enjoy apartment home living because its suites me and my needs. So if you are like me and not fond of watering the grass, rolling trash cans to the street, mending fences, calling plumbers, replacing light fixtures, etc. and would merely prefer to make a phone call and have it taken care of for you, then I highly recommend the family friendly community of Sunset Gardens. Perhaps it can also be a place you call home as well.

I love this place I lived here for a long time. the maintenance crew is outstanding and they get to our apartment really fast when we have any issues . Also the office always has snacks or drinks for people to grab .the girls are really friendly in the office and are always there to help you out, with any problems you might have.

I am a current tenant. It’s a great place to live at. Very modern. Grounds, pool and laundry room are kept up and very clean. Tenants are very friendly and quiet. I don’t have any parking issues for my guests. I am so happy here that I am planning on renewing my Lease once it’s up. Thank you Alyssa and Holly (front office) for being very caring and helpful. 😁

Have been dealing with the manager April here during my entire stay, and she has been amazing! April has great people skills and is a honestly great person. She definitely goes the extra mile to make sure your stay is great. It is unfortunate I am leaving this apartment as April has made it pleasant, the neighbors are quiet and nice, and the location is close to many places to shop and eat.

Great customer service by April and her wonderful staff. The ground are we maintained and beautiful.

Where does one start?I was a resident here for a 8 years. Then, the last two years, this...The new management is atrocious. High office staff turnover for one very important red flag—and very corporate compared to the former owners and management (which was AWESOME. Very sad they’re gone. Miss you, Patti.). That said, rents skyrocketed at this complex. Not worth your hard earned money for the hassles of regularly shut off water, the noise, the regularly overfilled/overflowing garbage bins, and dirty grounds. You only mean $ to this “community.” Disappointed they stiffed me part of deposit for a cleaning fee for an apartment they were going to completely gut and remodel anyway.Update 8/21/18:If the concern were real in possibly rectifying this former tenant’s experience Twelve 31 could offer to simply refund the $ they stiffed me on. I’m available by email to “discuss” only further reimbursement.

Best apartment ever I highly recommend this place very beautiful

MY CAR WAS RECENTLY STOLEN FROM THIS APARTMENT COMPLEX!!!!!I thought this was a safe place to live and also you would think that your car would be safe given the fact that they assigned this parking spot. Everything is caught on camera as far as the theft goes the theives even came in and exited through the apartments front gates (This is mind boggling) I was told sorry by the leasing office staff and that was all.....what’s the point of having security gates, cameras, and even security that patrols the parking lot if this can happen. My car is gone, I’m distraught

Washer 26, 24, 22, 20and 18 and 2 are not working. It has been 2 weeks now . We expect better from the management. The washer room is many times dirty.

I use to love living here at Sunset gardens. Everything was perfect until the new owners took over and raised everyones rent. My rent is set to go up about 400 more than what i have been paying. I understand the need to increase rent ever so often but to raise it that much at one time is so much of an inconvenience, especially for those that can not afford it. Sunset Gardens use to be a clean environment but now the trash bins overflow with trash on a daily and tenants are moving out left and right due to outrageous rent increases..

All apartments have a problem or two. All these bad reviews are just over reacting cry babies who want to pay nothing and expect room service. None of the complaints are accurate and are exaggerated. Twelve 31 is chill and upcoming. No ghetto people ;)Office girls go beyond as well

I am sad to be leaving this community. I remember looking for a place to move quickly after having to move on such short notice. I was working full time and I just wasn’t sure where I would go next, but knew I wanted to stay in the area. I remember seeing this complex on the way home from work before the remodel and management change. It was called “Sunset Gardens” and I saw myself living there after all the bad things I went through at my previous residence. (I used to live in what is now called “Citrus Garden Apartments” formerly known as Sunset Plaza. They actually told me I couldn’t renew my lease because I complained about all of the bad things going on there.So I went on to move to the lovely Sunset Gardens Apartments. The buildings did look a little dull at first but what attracted me was all the greenery and flowers that are between the buildings. It was very quiet and I liked that it is gated. I did not know the previous managers but I know that when they changed management they started updating the units slowly and changing the curb appeal. They painted the exterior and siding a blue and gray color which looks very nice compared to the dull brown two toned color it once had. The units had been turned over to feature a nice gray vinyl flooring with an updated kitchen. Each unit has it’s own appliances which is nice if you don’t have your own. I liked that the bathtubs looked brand new too. Nothing was run down or rusty looking. Everything is new and pretty, similar to a luxury hotel. These units are spacious, and my favorite part would have to be the large mirrored closets and kitchen. I’ve lived happily here for almost 4 years. I started off in a downstairs one bed then transferred to an upstairs two bed two bath as my family grew. They have gardeners that come during the week, I believe 2 days out of the week so the property is always looking very well kept. They have an app for the community where you can create a maintenance request, and get discounts that are offered for Rover Pet Services, Meal Deliveries, see if you have a package that was delivered + more. The gym is brand new and the laundry room too. The laundry room could use the same AC as the gym but when it’s not hot it works. It is cleaned daily which is nice and during the summer I’d recommend going early in the morning before the heatwave. There’s also a Laundromat across the street right next to Kungsri Thai food, which is delicious if you like Thai food. You can also schedule pest services for bugs monthly to avoid any unwanted critters. I’ve never ever had to use that service during the time I’ve lived here but it is nice that they have it.The new manager April goes above and beyond for her tenants and the staff. If you ever have any issues be sure to bring it to her attention. She is very quick to address any issues that are brought directly to her attention. She is also looking for new ways to improve and accepts suggestions. Emails are always welcome and help when the leasing office gets busy. New to the Staff are Alyssa and Holly, both lovely women who are very nice, caring and professional.The complex has community events which are designed to bring everyone together. They recently had an event called “Night Out” which was very fun and had the staff interacting with the tenants. They did a large bbq for everyone free of charge, had games and a raffle with cool prizes. The West Covina PD, CHP and Firemen were there. They have partnered with them to keep the community safe which is awesome. There’s even times where they give free ice cream on hot days and movie nights at the pool. Really awesome community 😎 thanks Twelve 31 for having us! Thank you April for being such a great person and manager we will miss you.

We lived there 11 months in two different units. For 6 months we lived accross the hall from the apartment general manager, Patty Fors, very dedicated and competent. Clean, well-kept, friendly, and safe. Excellent attention to pool and laundry rooms. Larger than average floor plans and patio/balconies. We enjoyed the community events hosted by the management and the extra services like receiving packages and holding them in the office for safety. Staff was friendly and attentive and worked well together.

Can you provide the name of the property management that managed this complex before the new owners took over ? I lived there about 6 years ago, and I have been trying to get a hold of them with out success.Thank you

Been here for almost 6 months and I love this place. Amazing maintenance and very clean and safe.

The front office manager is a horrible person, needs to go for things to improve in this community .She gave me an appointment for 1PM and went on lunch for 1.5 hrs because she lives in the community. On multiple instances she closes the office door on your face saying office is closed .

I have been living here since 2014 so im familiar with the old Tenants as well. Life was good, and then these garbage Tennants took over and raised the rent to a rediculouse rate. I was familiar with the old interior and it was way more sturdier than what it is now. And it is stupid that there is only on washing machine room that is on one side of the apartment complex, and on top of that the old washers were much bigger than the new ones, your better off going accross the street to the laundry mat. Security sucks because i always catch the homless going threw the trash. Our water i constantly cold and we constantly call it in, and they turn the water off on inconvenient times weekly... hello we are paying an arm and leg for a living here, it would be nice to not have to work around that schedule. Smh theres times on Wednesdays when i take a S##t and cant wash my hands

This place has very poor management and over charges you for services not rendered. The water is shut off on the average twice a week from 9am to 4pm, but your monthly statement shows water bill has increased. Theres an inadequate amount of garbage receptacles(8) for a 200 unit facility. Prior to this management there were the right amount. Therefore trash is not picked up as often as it should be causing un pleasent oders and rodents.There is no dog run and is not dog friendly. They will rent a one bedroom out to 5 to 6 people and a dog up stairs and you will never get any sleep! The interesting thing its if you certified rent they wont cash your check until the end of the month, so therefore you will receive next month statement with a balance owning and they will never responded or make correction to any written request. Let me be clear this is NOT Sunset Garden Apartments management prior to September 2016. Therefore if you want to rent from this FPI Management Inc. You will spend at least 6 months wishing you had not especially of you signed a lease! Therefore, the rate the this place is one star because of the good tenants!!!!!

Been living here for 2 years Don’t ever rent from these people especially the Management doesn’t help with anything that you have problems with your Apt or you’re Car gets broken into because they hire people that can’t do nothing to help you because if you try to protect your property you will be eviction notice that you broke your lease contract also every month they always have problems with the water no notice or anything

Very bad experience with this new administration that is why many people have left in recent months, they keep your deposit to renovate the apartments, the utilities go up and every week they take away the water service from 10 am to 2pm, they charge you gas, garbage, trenaje and water sometimes did not serve the water heater.
