The building is good but kitchens are small with little counter space for a person that cooks daily its tough hate electric stoves but thats what it is here . We upgraded to a bigger apt in the same building which Im happy with its bigger. However we where only one year at the previous apt we had new carpet but when we left they stuck us with a bill of 600 for brand new carpet replacement when the carpet wasnt torn or damaged or with irreversible stains either, all it really needed was vacuuming carpet was in good condition because we didnt do it a few days prior to moving,we actually kept a gate at the door not even our dog was allowed in our bedroom! We tried hard to keep our carpet as clean as possible but when we left the crew that comes in to fix ect made a mess of the carpet and they stuck us with the bill. So thats why Im giving them a one star. The location is great everything is close by however theres no parking for guest and they have to park a block away or more depending on the day they come. Before renting here do your homework and compare your pros and cons.
This review is as fair of an assessment I can give as a tenant living here for 3 plus years.The period prior to 2019 was positively a good experience with very little challenges if any.In the interest of fairness the below comments specifically is applicable starting 2019 period.1) Office staff is unprofessional and extremely rude once you move in and are not customer centric at all in addressing your concerns as a tenant. They are good while making the sales pitch for lease. Beware of this bullish tactic.2) Year long property construction projects for which you will have to compromise your time away from work hours and energy to facilitate and adhere to apartment rules and regulations. The property is extremely old and has its fair share of problems.3) I have been parking outside the apartment complex on streets and risking my cars safety since last 5 months every other week based on directions given by the apartment management to renovate the parking structure but no reimbursement expectations for the monthly parking fee which is collected anyways. Many fellow residents are bearing the same brunt and have expressed their discomfort and concern over car theft and vandalism acts in the neighborhood. As a premium car owner it is extremely worrisome to park the car outside overnight for weeks in a row without losing sleep over it.This post is cautionary based on my experience alone. As a paying customer and tenant I feel that future residents need to be informed. I will be looking personally to move to a better apartment nearby post my lease expiry. I would suggest until the management doesnt change to take your time and money elsewhere.
The place itself is quite nice, but the elevator is by far the most dysfunctional part of the building. I do hope it gets fixed later on but for now, visitors will have to use the stairs
I have lived in Sunset Plaza Apartments for several years. The staff is very helpful, and polite. I use the gym often, which its usually clean at all times. I love that I am allow to have my dog because they are pet friendly. Another advantage to live in Sunset plaza is the close distance to the mall, restaurants, and food stores. My neighbors are very peaceful, and kind people. I am happy to call Sunset Plaza Apartments Home.
I used to live in this apartment when it was still under the Sunset Apartment that was taken over by Citrus Garden Apartment management. Around 2017, they made a significant renovation that possibly caused me to develop my breast cancer due to the toxic from this old building. There was also poor ventilation inside our apartment. I was forced to move my whole family away to a healthier environment. I gave the management a 30-day notice and asked for consideration. Just few weeks after we left, I decided to check our old apartment if they were able to rent it out. I can see from the street view that it was occupied, but the management still decided to report me to the credit bureau that added to my stress while I was battling my health problem. I believe in Karma to those who run their business with greed.
Been living here for several yrs. I love it. Whenever I have a problem regarding maintenance,Shawn is always quick to fix the issue. The manager Jackie is always so helpful too. Thank you for making it so pleasant to live here.
No body will help for the maintenance, I send a request about shower room flooded, no body helped until few days my closet and my room also flooded with the water damage a lot of my stuff.This is for sure the worst apartment I ever leaved, their staff does not work properly and missed my information, and after I move out more than half year, they request a debt company to ask for you last utility fee? which I never pay my rent late and never received any notice for that, I don’t even know how those amount come from.
Facility is a well kept property, so far I cant complain. Shawn the maintenance man is very helpful and always takes care of any maintenance issues in the apartment weve requested so far. Hope to rent here for a while rent is very reseonable compared with other apartments in the area.
Just moved in about 1 month ago. Management is doing a lot of upgrades to the community. Has its ups and downs but overall management is doing a great job. Have no complaints towards anyone in the staff. They are all courteous and professional. My apartment is nice and spacious. Will be transferring to an upgraded version once available! Cant wait to see the end results of the community upgrades.
If I could give this place a no star I would!!! Horrible!! Not a safe place at all! I went to visit a family member that lives here and when I came out my moms car and my grandmothers and 4 cars ahead of me. Were either hit and left with horrible dents plus my car was broken into. Let me just tell you it happened right I. front of the FIRE STATION!! Im telling you dont move in there! Take my word for it. Horrible place!!!
I just moved in with a 1 year lease on January 2 2018. In January, they have given every unit a 24 hour advance notice of entry for to inspect each units walls, floors, carpet, and appliances on two separate weeks. These inspections are during the week when I am at work so I am not home when they enter. For two weekends in a row, my buildings washing room is locked. If I am lucky, the building next door will have theirs unlocked. Lucky for me, at 7:51pm on Sunday, I am able to use my neighboring buildings community washing facility, however, only one machine is available, and I have 3 loads to wash. I called security and emergency maintenance at 8am, 10am, 11am, and 7pm, but they cannot give me a time of when my buildings washing facility will open. If I break my lease, its $2500. All I can do is vent I guess.
Dont even waste your time. The apartments look decent and the management spends more money on making their office and certain areas of the building they show you on the walk through look really nice but they are just like any other rental agency that has property in hood areas. They dont clean so I dont know why they charge people cleaning fees. When we went to look at the unit we got the ceiling fan in the kitchen was shattered on the floor. Michelle promised us a lot of repairs that never happened even after we put them in writing and shes very rude. Yes she acts very sweet and kind but if you complain or ask for something to be done right your on her blacklist for the rest of your stay. There is a high rate of car break ins around and in the complex. We have a palm tree breaking the boards of our patio and before we moved in she promised she would have it trimmed and 4 months after my husband had to start doing it on his own before she sent maintenance to handle it. The bathroom sink in our bathroom had a corner chipped when we went to see it and Michelle told me they would fix it before we moved in and all that they did was glue the corner back on. A couple days after we moved in we noticed that the entire sink looked like it was going to crack right down the middle and was beginning to hand off the wall where they have slapped caulking on trying to keep it LOOKING attached to the wall. The maintenance manager came and told my husband that they would not fix it because there was no budget so they halfway fixed it and the next day it was coming off the wall again. Then a month later my husband and I try to come in the front gate (because none of the back gates have locks on them) and found out that the locks had been changed and we werent notified so we had to get another key from the office. Then Michelle tells us that they had to change the locks.. funny because less than a month before they didnt have any money to fix our sink that is STILL hanging off the wall. The place also has a billing company that we never receive our bill on time for and Michelle always says she is going to take care of it, issues us a copy of the bill and the next month its the same drama all over again then she has the nerve to tell us that we havent paid the utilities several times after I informed her that we are not getting the bills and we wont pay $56 for trash and water unless we see the breakdown. SAVE YOUR MONEY! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! Not to mention that one of the buildings is full of CRACK USERS!
I have lived here for a few years now. Excited to see how they remodel units. New windows, new waterlines. I like it here. Awesome staff. Maintenance is very helpful.
I moved into this community 2 years ago and do not have anything but great things to say about the staff. The maintenance team is always quick to take care of any issues in my unit, especially Shawn. I would recommend this community to my friend and family.
Jack the graveyard security has amazing hospitality and is a positive addition to the property.

Very unprofessional....I had an appointment to view a 3 bd room left work early called me an 1hr before to say they rented the place 20 minutes ago...you would think I would have the option to see it and if we liked it start the process. ....wont recommend this place. ...

Am currently a resident and I must say it is somewhat disappointing. I live on the second floor and keep looking at the same trash and cigarette buts on the floor. I have complained about it and nothing has happened. I see maintenance all the time but they do not come to second floor. Tried to go to pool after pool man cleaned and the water is still green and unclean.
The best place to live. All of you people who say it is bad are haters.
