Very happy from when u walk in to when u pick up car. We had a bad experience with a mechanic in Media where we live and our son said mom take it to my guy he will fix it. The guy in Media had car for 5 days back and forth saying dont know what is wrong. He put in new AC compressor did not get any cold air. Jerry looked at it and about 1/2 hour later said it was the wrong ac compressor. They are our new shop!!!Great experience!!! Thank u again!

Went to Tommys for the first time. Were new to the area and hoped to make a good first attempt to find a legit, honest auto shop and we hit it on the first try with Tommys. Everyone there was very helpful at the different stages of scheduling, drop off and pick up. We were in a situation where we literally told them, I dont know whats up. Just tell me everything we need to do to get this thing running safely and check the brakes, they probably need to be changed. Their answer was, you need new tires, but everything else is fine after an oil change. Brakes look fine. Heres a bill for nearly nothing... If you were trying to figure it out - they are honest and will help you. They have a customer for life as long as we are living in the area. Thanks!

I don’t write very many reviews, but Tommy’s deserves a very good one. I am very particular and look at a car as a big investment that should be properly maintained. I have done my own brake work and oil changes, but prefer to have it done by a professional. Unfortunately I have had too many bad experiences at other places with poor workmanship at high prices that it drives me back to doing it myself. I read so many positive reviews about Tommy’s that I decided to try them out. I started with my son’s Honda Pilot for an inspection and they identified an issue with a brake caliper that they said would pass inspection (honest) but recommended repairing. I appreciated their honesty on that and asked them to fix it; which they did at a very fair price. A year later the Pilot needed a valve adjusted at 120,000 miles; they did a great job at a very competitive price. I had a similar experience with the timing belt on the same car. My Audi, which I take very good care of, was due for inspection, new tires and brakes (including rotors since the brakes were pulsing and everything was still original with 65k miles). I shopped around and Tommy’s had very fair prices. Gerry called me and said my brake pads still had plenty of life and recommended just turning the rotors; what an honest business and saved me a bunch of money. I also noticed on the paper work that they used an on-car lathe to surface the rotors - this is the gold standard way to do this work. High quality work, fair prices and a very honest business - what more could you ask for? Very happy to be able to support such a great business.

Tommys automotive hands down is one of the best mechanics Ive ever met, hes honest and takes pride in his work and the employees are very friendly, Tommy takes care of my father in laws work trucks, the trucks run and feel great. His diagnosistics skills are second to none and will predict when a part will go bad, thats what happened to my car, so thats when I knew he is a great mechanic. he foreseen months back during the inspection a certain part would be ineffective shortly. I had a bad experience with DAmbroiso, I bought the car from them and will never go back to them for service. There dishonest, shady and will not own up or honor there word, I hate to talk bad about ppl Im sure theres good ppl that work there but my experience was horrible. Tommy was kind enough to take over my vehicles warranty that I have through a 3rd party. I feel safe with his work and his word. it gives me a piece of mind knowing that when my family is in the car theyll be safe and safety is the most important factor when it comes to my family. I went to their shop for service three times in last two months and received very good service at very reasonable cost. My wife took her Volvo couple of days ago to diagnose “required urgent system service” warning on dashboard and they found a serious issue with gas pedal. Fixed it the other day. People at front desk are very polite and explained all the service done in detail.

The service manager told me my car was almost dead and I should think about parting it out. A year and a half later the car is still running strong and is a joy to drive. Every time I have gone there, they have recommended unnecessary work and failed my PA inspection for issues that are not part of the inspection. Shady outfit aimed at getting as much of your money as they can.

So I found Tommys online, and decided to give them a try - after emailing several other shops Tommys was the only one who answered.We are thrilled with them. This was my first visit to Tommys and will definitely not be my last! Had a sudden change in plans and needed a state inspection with short notice. I was able to call and schedule my inspection only a few days in advance (towards the end of the month, as well). I dropped it off first thing in the morning and Chris got to it so quickly. I was expecting that I would need new brakes (I was right), but the price was much more reasonable than I was expecting. After being overcharged and ripped off in the past by other shops in the area, I was so relieved that I could have cried. I cant tell you what a relief it is to finally find an auto shop that does quality work - quickly, affordably, and kindly. Everyone in the shop (including the adorable pup, of course!) was so kind and accommodating from the very beginning. Im so thankful that circumstances led me to finding Tommys and I look forward to future business.

I got work done on my car over a year ago. It was around $2000 of work (engine coil, leak in mass cylinder, other issues). When I brought it home, the following day my car started overheating and the check engine light came back on. At this point, I said if I had to put anymore money in the car, I was getting a new one. Im disappointed after spending all that money that occurred and I just felt as I should warn others. My SO also brought his car to this shop and after getting it back, it would work for a day and then, additional problems would occur.

These guys are awesome, Ive never had a mechanic that was so open and whom I trusted as much as these guys. I have used them for everything ever since Ive found them. They give you a full break down of whats needed - breaking down the costs, and in my case because I had an old car, they help me manage my budget. For example, they have make recommendations of whats needed immediately, and what could wait, what needed real work vs. what could benefit from a band-aid... other shops will try to get every dollar from you - these guys treat you like family. I love them!

Chris helped me make an appointment very quickly, and answered all my questions and concerns. Additionally he suggested how I could save money (and exactly how much) by using some non-OEM parts which are equivalent quality.On the day that I brought my car in for its lumpy steering, the steering was smooth as always and remained so for the guys at the shop, so they couldnt fix what didnt seem broken. They just did the brake maintenance that I requested.The next day when I picked up the car mere minutes before they closed, the lumpiness was back. Tommy asked right away if he could look at it and after a few minutes asked if it would be OK to put the car back into the bay. Tommy and Jerry were able to resolve it in 10 minutes. After working after their closing time, they apologized to me for the delay.I wholeheartedly recommend Tommys Automotive. They discuss and explain if you so desire the repairs and its costs, they are friendly, schedule quickly, and go above and beyond to make you a satisfied customer.

I dropped my car off yesterday for an inspection at 10am and they were done with it by 2:30pm. It was easy to schedule an appointment and the people I spoke with on the phone and in the shop were very friendly. What really won me over is what happened when I picked up my car. In March I put 2 tires on my car. It was suggested to me that I pay for all 4 and get brakes while I am at it because, they probably wont pass inspection so why not just get them now. I was worried my inspection would not go well so when I was told it passed easily I was surprised. I asked how my brakes and tires were and I was told, they look great. I would feel comfortable with my wife driving on them. Tommys Automotive made a customer for life.

One of the best shops I have found in since moving to the area. I did extensive online research and sought advice through online forums. I have a modified vehicle that is not always well serviced at shops used to specialty vehicles. Their pricing is good, they have mechanics that have been with them many years. Specialty equipment like start of the art diagnostics and wheel alignment mechanism and guarantee their work.I have to drive a good distance to get their, but will continue to make the drive whenever I need work beyond what I can do in my garage or have a run of the mill local shop handle (e.g. oil changes).Super highly recommended, if you have a car that you plan to keep for years and handle with true TLC. Vintage vehicles, modified sports cars, modified trucks, and even your daily driver will be treated like it is the owners baby.

Ive been using Tommys for about 4 years now for all my cars, they always treat me and my wife with the utmost respect. Always upfront, honest and reliable. I wont trust anyone else with my cars. Im new to the area so I didnt know what to do with my 2000 BMW when she broke down. After reading other online reviews, I had my car towed from another place to here.I immediately got a call from Tom following my after-hours email inquiry. They proceeded to send me friendly text updates on the car over the next two days. I decided not to repair the car as Id trade it in instead. They went out of their way to come in on a weekend to help me pay up and drive the car to a dealership for trade-in. Had a front wheel bearing changed on my car a couple of weeks ago, since the job, the brake system on the wheel was making a rubbing noise whenever the breaks were applied. My son had his battery and alternator replaced on the ford taurus. It cost him 560 dollars. They charged him 180 dollars for a new battery. In Pep boys it costs about 120. A few weeks later the starting motor burnt out. We went back to Tommys but with a refurbished starter motor we bought from pepboys. After installation, the motor burned out after starting the engine a second time. We returned the motor to pepboys. I was talking to the service manager and he told me that he has never had a case where the refurbished motor burned out like that because they are tested in the factory. He said it was possible that the motor was not installed correctly. Anyway, he replaced the refurbished motor with a new one and we returned to Tommys. They installed it but then when I went to pay the bill they charged me 240 dollars, they charged me twice. Next time I will take my car to pepboys. It is cheaper

I started using them for my BMW through a word of month reference 4-5 years ago. Seen them grow since the past few years. Never upsell unnecessary repairs, Will never overcharge you for the work time. Hourly rates will be comparable to any shop, but the key is the honesty and the quality of the work. Even when they have expanded their business space, the values still remain the same....Cant say enough things about the Team. Gerry, Chris and Tommy are amazing guys and Gerry & Tommy are skilled on BMWs. They best I have come across. Very few places I can trust their recommendations without questions or any doubts. There have been many instances with me to keep reinforcing their honestly and quality.I should have written this review long back, Just been lazy but today when a friend was asking for BMW repair shop recommendation, decided to write. I had tried many BMW specialized repair shops from Phoenixville to West Chester but Tommys was the real deal.
