What a freaking God-send. Seriously, I cant say enough about this place. They took such amazing care of me and my car. Both of us lol. My Acura broke down 45 min from my house. I needed to bring her some place near, meaning I would have to go to a shop i didnt know anything about. On a strict budget, they took great care to always update me on every step, get approval of the price before doing the work, even diagnosed all the issues and were super honest about everything. Absolutely 10/10 would recommend. Thank you, Jonathan, for all your help!!!

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE.This is, by far, the WORST place I have ever taken my car. I dropped my car off on Friday, and was told it would be ready for pick up on the following Monday. Not only was it not finished, but they failed to call and let me know. This happened for the next several days, to which I found out there was apparently more wrong with it than originally thought. First, the wrong part was ordered, and then it took longer to put the part in; Long story short, the maintenance took 3 days longer than it should have, and not once did they call me. I had to call in everyday to ask for updates, to which they told me everyday it would be ready the next. Not only that, but when I continued to ask for price estimates, they kept saying “someone would call and let me know”, which, you guessed it, never happened. When it’s finally ready, I get in for them to tell me that the final price is more than DOUBLE the maximum price I was originally told at drop-off. Needless to say, my experience was awful and I will never be back. I encourage anyone reading this review to do the same. They will waste your time and money, and fail to be professional while they are at it. Avoid at all costs.

Today was the first time I went to Daves (inspection and tires) and Im never going to go anywhere else! They were on time, quick, and professional about everything they did. They called to let me know what needed to be done/repaired beforehand, and were completely honest and didnt try to take advantage of me like other auto places have before. I came from out of state. From the first time I called, Laura went above and beyond to help me as best as she could. She answered my general questions about state laws that provided her no business, out of the kindness of her heart. As complications arose on my end Laura was flexible and continued to assist as best as she could. I was not surprised to see that she was equally as nice/helpful in person. I had the pleasure of dealing with Laura over the phone. I was having trouble with some automotive repair related paperwork. Even though I was nothing (income wise) to the shop, she was super gracious with her time (on the phone after business hours) and walked me through a tedious process that had me feeling like I was banging my head against the wall. I made it through the paperwork and out the other side with her expert help. Awesome to see people still going above and beyond expectations without expecting a return. My husband and I have done small and large repairs with John and his wonderful family at DARE for almost 10 years, and their service and dedicated adherence to the customers high level of satisfaction is second to none. We have also purchased two cars from John at DARE, and each car was completely perfect, from its engine to its exterior to its driving performance! Genuinely great people and a genuinely great experience. Ive been driving for almost 5 years now and its the first time I havent worried about being swindle or overcharged by a mechanic other than my usual. They are very good with making sure the work gets done properly and making sure I was taken care of. I feel confident that my car will be fine and I wont be overacharged.

Lived in West Chester for a couple years. I have a 2000 Grand Cherekee that needs tender, love, and care. I needed knowledgeable mechanics that wouldn’t take advantage in charges. Although they were on the higher side, It wasn’t unbearable and worth there expertise, timeliness and customer service. They have a DARE Mobile that would transport me wherever I needed to go while they worked on my Jeep. I have moved on to a different state and just wanted to give them kudos!

Said my transfer case was shot. I Asked if they could look at the transmission, and they said it looked fine. They fixed my car, and a few days later started making a noise again. Took it to my mechanic and said it needed a new transmission, not transfer case. Transmission was filled with metal.

The people at Daves-automotive are very professional and very friendly. I’ve been to many auto repair shops in the area but none of them give you the quality and and professionalism as Dave’s auto repair shop does.

Our family has purchased two cars from their used car lot; most recently a 2008 Honda Pilot from Jonathan and crew and couldnt be happier. Tyler, Laura and everyone we encountered was professional, pleasant and eager to make sure we left happy. When asked what we should do if we encountered any problems during inspection, re-titling, etc. we were told, Give us a call, well make it right! And they did!

As we all know, its hard to find a dependable and honest mechanic shop. Daves is an exception with their honest, family-owned staff that works very hard to see as many customers happy as possible. This sounds like a paid review, but I am just a happy customer whos finally found a good shop. Their rates are a little higher than other shops but for the honesty, quick service, and no BS - its worth it!

Jonathan, the owner who is Daves son, we cannot say enough about. Truly. Jon was heaven sent. He is such an amazing person. Kind, compassionate, caring, warm-hearted, gracious, thoughtful and for us, charitable. He gave back to his community in a huge way. It wasnt about the money at all.. it was about Jon wanting to help us and only about Jon helping my husband & myself. It was never ever about money, never. My husband and I whom are financially strained found ourselves in an unexpected situation with our car. My husband was stuck outside with the car overnight (broken down)... The next day my husband was still stranded as we tried to figure out what to do since we had little money. We called many places. Now it was around 5 ish and close to closing time for many places when I called Daves Automotive Repair (Dare). Jonathan answered and right out of the gate what a nice and easy going man he was. Jon, immediately took control of the situation, put my mind at ease and made calls. Jon, called back, said he was going to tow my car and get my husband home to me. Thats exactly what he did, for free. Not only did he tow my car to his shop for free, he paid for an Uber for my husband to get home.. Amazing... he also paid for my car part and fixed my car for free. Who does this, nobody. However, Jon did. Jon, truly is a Blessing, he is our Christmas miracle.. We crossed paths for a reason and I am forever grateful. His father, Dave would be very proud of the man he is and how he helped a family in need. There are no words to describe how grateful we are.. Staff is friendly but very slow service. If you don’t wait for your car they instantly push you to the back of the line, even if you are the first person there in the morning. Great place if you have issues with your car they can bill you for. If you just go in for a routine oil change and keep up with car maintenance they find issues to bill you for other things. They broke three lugnuts on my 2016 Subaru Impreza claiming “it happens” and charged me over $100 for an extra hour to replace them. Will never go back.

Daves was willing to do an independent pre-purchase inspection of a used car that I was considering from a nearby dealership. They were quick and flagged a minor issue with the car.Not all shops are enthusiastic about doing this as such requests often come from people from out of town and are less likely to be repeat customers, so kudos to Daves.

Tried to buy/trade for a bike from this shop through the owners sons (who both work for the shop). Set up a meeting to see the bike. Drove two hours. Couldnt see the bike, they told me it was down the street and I could come back another time. Drove home, asked if we were still making a deal and got ignored. I would not have posted this review if I at least got an apology for wasting hours of my time.

Called in (Wednesday 9-20-17) about having an engine build with a forged bottom end and tuned. Was told they would write up a quote for the work and I would receive a call right back. Two days later, on Friday, still no quote so I called and left a message for John (the man I had spoken with). That following Monday I called and was told my message would be given to John and he would call me back within 30 minutes (I was assured of this). No call by the end of business on Monday. Called Tuesday the man on the phone had a tone on his voice as if I was wasting his time, so I kindly asked him just to let John know I wasnt interested. He replied with OK without even asking me who I was or what the car was. I asked him, Dont you at least want my name just so John doesnt have to waste his time? His reply, Um sure.... Level of professionalism is on the ground. First impressions mean everything and to say I am seriously unimpressed is an understatement.

I have been to Daves Automotive Repair a few times to get my car serviced. They took care of my car issues right the first time. I also done my PA car state inspection with them. Since they are always busy, it usually takes most of the day to get my car serviced. They offer a free shuttle service if you plan on leaving your car at the shop. With the coupons that they have, the prices are good compared to the dealership. The people are the shop are friendly.

DARE always finds time to fit my car in when I need something done. I trust them to do the work correctly, to charge me a fair price, and to not try to do things that are not necessary...which are the most important things to me when looking for a place to take my car. The Honda dealership is so much more difficult to work with and I dont trust them like I trust DARE.

I did not have my auto serviced there. I was working on equipment at their facility. Their staff was friendly and hard working. After this behind the scenes look at Daves Auto, I am inclined to bring my car there for service.

This past weekend my car was shaking on my way down to Maryland Friday night and I knew i couldnt drive it further. i got a hotel room since i was out of town and had no one to pick me up. Saturday morning, My mobile mechanic failed to show up and i had no idea what i was going to do.Called a few shops before Daves (by random, no reason) and they couldnt look @ my car until Monday (i didnt have that time, i was stranded out of town and with my dog)Called Daves, not only did they tell me to come right over, they allowed my dog to be inside waiting with me since he was with me and it was cold outside. (my dog is really well behaved, so it was wonderful i wouldnt need to wait outside for the time it would take to look at my car and diagnose the issue) if i felt uncomfortable or if i felt my dog was- they extended the option for me to wait in a separate room in the building that would give me and my dog more privacy if needed.it was a very busy saturday- so i didnt expect anything magical to happen quickly but the staff were SO friendly, gave me several updates throughout the process.The issue ended up being a part that was replaced by my local mechanic that prior week, and due to warranty it was best to tow my car to my regular mechanic. Despite Daves not doing any actual repair, i was so happy with the attention i was given and the generosity the shop staff had. if i was ever stranded again or ever live near west chester, i wont hesitate to trust them again.in addition, the customers that visited were all very nice and my pup made several new human friends!Thank you guys!

I hadnt owned a car in 25 years as I always lived in cities before moving here, and I wanted to make sure I was getting the best deal on a used car with the limited budget I had. Even though I had to pay for Daves to thoroughly evaluate each of the two cars I was thinking of buying, it was $ well spent as they did a great job informing me in easy-to-undertand terms the pros & cons of each, and then recommending preventative service options (which I had them complete) for what has proved to be a reliable vehicle since. When they later on replaced my windshield (darn that flying gravel!) and the replacement had a very small but perceptible defect, they then considerately replaced it again free of charge -- it was a level of integrity I didnt expect, and it will keep me coming back.

This is by FAR - THE BEST automotive repair shop I have EVER brought my cars too! (I walked in yesterday for the first time and was overwhelmed by how awesome they were that I came back today to have them look at a second car for me). They are the kindest, sweetest, most energetic, and soooo knowledgeable . While sitting in the waiting room you’ll meet Dave’s son and daughter who run the office and are truly the most delightful people. Billy (so kind- great energy) will help you get checked in and JAIME IS THE BEST worked on my car he is fantastic!!! Ya know that feeling when you have to try a new place to take your car in because something is wrong — usually you feel nervous— you won’t feel that way here! I’m moving tomorrow and wish I could pick this place up and take it with me to my new city. Sit in the waiting room for 5 minutes and you’ll understand how great they are. ❤️

I had a very good start with Jon, the moment I asked him for my money which I gave as deposit to start work on my car, everything changed. It became all about money, w/out actually fixing or selling my car which he promised to do. He took almost $900 from me.

Took my car here for inspection knowing Id probably need brakes. They were very friendly on the phone, and got me in relatively promptly. When they called to talk about repairs, they told me I needed all four brakes and rotors, and one new caliper before I could pass inspection. They quoted me at around $1200. This sounded high to me, so I opted to take my car elsewhere. At my preferred garage, they told me I did not actually need a new caliper just yet, but rather it could be cleaned and be just fine. I was able to get all four brakes/rotors done and the caliper for around $600. On the more pleasant side, they did offer me a coupon for the inspection to bring the price down, but the discounted price was honestly the same as other mechanics, so I dont know how valuable that really was. Long story short, they were pleasant to work with, but overpriced in my opinion.

This shop (and Jonathan specifically) saved my weekend. I finally found time to put my procharger kit on. With the car half apart, the first bolt out of the kit to go on the car was packaged wrong. While the label said m12x1.5x120 it was not only m12x120 but also grade 5 instead of 8. And its bolt that goes on the harmonic balancer pulley, so pretty crucial - couldnt proceed with the install, and of course procharger and lmr where I ordered from, all closed for the long memorial day weekend. Checked every possible local place, none had this bolt. Only hope was for fastenal but also closed through Tuesday. By complete accident happened to run into someone who recommended to stop at Daves/DARE Automotive, and so happy we did. In less than 10 minutes Jonathan listened to our story and rethreaded one of the bolts he had for us, complete strangers whove never been at the shop before. He refused to take any cash either. THANK YOU! Saved the weekend and my car. Well definitely come back for any actual work wed need on our mustangs.
