We who have children choose this gym because they offer child care. One we should trust with our children. I had my daughter join the gym because of that benefit. Today was her first time there, also the grandkids. We checked them in and we specifically instructed them to call us if my 3 yr old granddaughter begins to cry. We worked out for 20 minutes and my gut feeling told me to go check on the kids. She had been crying, only God knows how long. There were only 3 other kids there. The girls working there said she had just started crying. Which was a lie, she was crying with deep emotion. Fine we picked them up and left. Drove out the drive way and she was crying so deep she began to choke on her own saliva and threw up. But supposedly she had just started to cry. Negative. My daughter canceled her membership. We are supposed to confide in you to watch over our children and comfort them. Of course the manager argued and said the girls said she had just started to cry, how do you know because when we walked up she was on the side and the girls were nowhere close to where she was. These girls are clueless and they think we dont know our own kids. SMH

Good amount of equipment. Easy check in-But very busy. Rules not enforced…. People playing music on a loud speaker so loud I can hear it over my headphone music.

2 star overall, honestly it being so cheap and close to home is why I keep the membership...+1 for equipment variety, many machines, weights, and cardio+1 for cleanliness across the gym. Gym floor, equipment, lockerrooms and restrooms.-1 for hours being very short (used to be 24/7) they have many staff members, almost seems overstaffed considering, could be spread easily to accomodate longer hours.-1 for lack of power/squat racks and benches, 1 squat, 2 powers, 4 benches, for this size and population, isnt enough.-1 power goes out and gym ends up closed almost every time it rains moderate to moderate heavy+

The gym is good, equipment is good, the people are good. What would be better is if they extended the hours! We ought to start a petition and get people to sign it so they can actually open earlier and close later because these hours just don’t cut it.

Clean gym, not crowded because they have tons of machines, always staff cleaning, cleaning supply vis accessible so you can clean your machine before/after, staff is friendly!Kids club is the best!

Honestly my home away from home. Always clean! Amazing staff and Plenty of weights and machines to go around. You Must have a mask on to enter, and wipe down all equipment after use.

First of all I tried to get on three different treadmills. I finally found one that worked. When I was leaving a man was like ew mask . I keep on walking cause I was leaving. Yes I still wear my mask out in public even though Im vaccinated.

I have been a member of fitness Connection since it first opened in Houston, TX. Over 12 years. I have visited almost every location but the NASA location is the best. Very clean and organized. Spacious. Great customer service.

Been to several other fitness connections from Fuqua to Pasadena this is by far the best, front counter staff very nice and welcoming, gym is always clean and best part you dont have to worry about your car being broken into like the one on Fuqua while you work out.. recommend this place to anyone who wants to work out!!

Received the 5 day trial before buying the membership.Arrived Fitness Connection and noticed I forgot my driver license but figured I would be okay since I had a picture saved to my files.Employee asked Manager if it was alright when I denied.Gladly I tried the trial before purchasing the membership.

I have asked numerous times regarding extending hours or returning to 24/7 over the past several months and no one has been able to tell me anything other than reiterating that they don’t know. Staff is friendly and the gym has most necessary equipment, but this is poor customer service and communication by whoever is controlling the hours. The price is the primary factor that keeps me going.

I drove from texascity at 5 am to workout with a friend, only to find out that I couldnt workout because the 7 day pass check is at 8am. The receptionist wouldnt budge and let me workout unless I paid for a membership or day pass.

My debit card got charged five different times the same amount which only should have been one time. I showed them my bank statement and I have told them multiple times, sent email and called corporate and no can help fix this easy situation. Asked to speak to the manager at the store and apparently everyone is a manager but no one can give me my money back. Fraudulent charges and the store can’t take care of it, needs to go thru corporate which is taking way too long. I just want my money back. I can’t believe I have to tell them every time I go to the gym. I don’t know maybe I have to file a police report to get my money back

I was told when I signed up if I went with monthly I would not have to pay an annual charge/fee. 2 months into paying the subscription without going, I get charged a $50 annual fee. I called them - was on the phone for 1hr 30 min before I actually got to talk to someone who said you signed the agreement did you not? It doesnt matter what they tell you if you signed the agreement. Then another 2hours of waiting on the phone and being hung up on just TRYING TO CANCEL.Oh and to cancel you still need to pay for the next month as well which isnt even guaranteed to be the amount you signed up for.What a scam. So disappointed. I want my money back.

Always recommend this gym to anyone looking for a fresh start into their fitness journey. This gym is BIG, Large amount of equipment you can use and what I love about it there’s not just one of that machine some machines have up to 3 machines you can use! It’s Fab! The women’s workout room has everything us ladies need to get our bodies in shape, along with a movie theatre that plays great movies! There is also a track upstairs to run 9 laps to make a mile and bunch of cardio machines and other cable machines & weights. I love this gym and driving 25 minutes daily is so worth it!

Dont go here!!!It seems masks are optional here.The last thing I want is to die trying to stay healthy.If they dont fix this issue, Im cancelling my membership.I informed the staff but they didnt seem to care much for fixing the issue.

Dont come here. They charge fees they dont tell you about and then to cancel youll be on hold for at least an hour. If you refuse to pay the last month it goes to debt collectors and brings down your credit score.Go anywhere else, trust me.

I really like this new fitness connection location. Its alot better than the one on spencer. They completely renovated it from when it was ballys, then that other gym. Before fitness connectikn bought it out, that building was a complete dump. Now its awesome and new and clean. The staff is pretty nice, this location can get crowded in busy times but over all its great.

First off I didnt choose to come to this gym, my gym closed and they bought the clients from the better gym. My first time going in to talk to someone about what the switch over meant showed just how poor their customer service was and would be. I asked to speak to someone about the changes, the gentleman at the counter said they have one associate right now so Id have to wait. Fine with me, i waited nearly 10 minutes while she laughed and talked on the phone as i could see her at the desk. Then a group of ladies came in and told the desk clerk they wanted to know about memberships and he told the associate and suddenly she was off the phone and helping the group of women first as i sat and watched. So after that interactions I should have cancelled already, but I gave them a chance. Secondly the gym is to small for the numbers of people that use it you cant workout unhindered in someway and sometimes cant get on the machine you want. Lastly I know we are in a pandemic, but per state regulations individuals with sever health conditions where wearing a mask will cause greater harm than good from a mask are exempt from wearing them. As I wear them to be courteous of others and their health as well out and about but I have a cardiopulmonary issue that wearing a mask would cause more harm than good while working out with a mask would do. They didnt care and I was told I couldnt use the facilities without a mask even though the ADA and state orders said I could. So for that alone and the discrimination from this gym and personnel I will never step foot in there again. Absolutely the worst.

Good and varied selection of machines, free weights, and cardio. They are taking great caution ensuring we are safe by requiring not only masks, but gloves as well, along with making sure there is adequate spacing between the machines. Very friendly and professional staff. Very clean also.

I cant say enough good things about the kids club! Melissa and the other ladies who run the kid club have been so amazing. I am SO grateful to be able to leave my son in an environment that is safe while I workout. When I had my son, I didnt want to give up my love of working out and finding Fitness Connection and the kids club they offer has been such a blessing. The employees at the kids club have created a fun, safe, clean environment for the kids and they are always friendly and upbeat. They are so welcoming and my son loves going there!The gym is clean and equipment well maintained. I started going to the classes they offer regularly also and they have been so fun! Overall, my husband and I have been very pleased with this gym.

The person at from tried to make me purchase disposable gloves for $5 Dollars. Had just been there the day before when got the membership, I was told to bring gloves and mask, but if I didn’t they will provide disposable. So I ordered but only had fingerless handy, So she decided to charge me for them, and tried talking to the manager but he was busy at first with her and then with someone else. I couldn’t see him trying to even go out and talk to me. And I have done Customer service before, so is not like I don’t know how a client should be treated.I am a NURSE, I do appreciate the rules and stuff, is the main reason I took my son since he has asthma wouldn’t take him just to any place. But there are ways to communicate, at the end they are there to serve the Clients, with out clients there is no Job.Very satisfied with cleanliness but need to have better Customer Service.

Fitness connection in Clear Lake location is an amazing facility. They are committed to our safety. Even though we are all struggling with wearing masks and gloves.....especially during workouts, fitness connection sees the importance of following CDC rules to help protect us and help slow the spread of covid. The staff is very professional while enforcing the new implemented rules. There are nonstop cleaning crew circulating the gym wiping down equipment. I also feel the gym goers are all doing an amazing job wiping down machines after use and masking up! This is a great gym....my favorite yet! It’s huge with a great variety of equipment! Upstairs track has always been a cool feature too! 😊

This place is a scam. My wife enrolled me but I decided to go somewhere else. I j ok my been enrolled for less than a week when she asked to cancel my membership they told her I had to pay for another month which is fine but also pay an extra $50 for maintenance fee. I never worked out at that place not even once but yet they just want to get every penny they can out of you. Manager is a joke and very unprofessional. Will never ever go back to that place although I never been there in the first place

Best gym I have ever been too, the staff is very kind and welcoming. The gym itself is an excellent place to work out and doesn’t feel overly crowded even when it is full. The women’s area has a movie room, and a nice sauna in the locker room. The classes are included with the membership, so there is no extra fees. I wouldn’t want to go to any other gym.

Ive been going here for the last year or so and I am very happy with the facility. Its clean, smells fine, and spacious. The childcare area is exceptional. My kids love going and I feel 100% comfortable leaving them there. The staff is friendly and professional. Ive only gone during the day but Ive never had a problem with overcrowding. Ive recommended this gym to friends without hesitation.

I use to like this gym before, but now I don’t like it any more, maybe is the new management because their costumers service is not there at all .

After reopening for a couple months, this gym stills close early on Friday and Saturday. On top of that closed on Sunday. I still have to pay full membership even this gym is supposed be 24/7. I understand because of the pandemic they have to make some changes but only temporarily not permanent. I sent email to the GM and he replied this is only phase one! So when phase 2 is kicking in? Very nice gym but the hours are not good. Update on my review, after one whole week one of the cable machines still not working and this is not because social distancing, this machine has been working before and one of the incline bench the seat is missing two screws for months one no one have taken care of this safety issue.

I wish you can open one more bench press machine, it is annoying to keep waiting on that machine because some people take their sweet time to do their exercise, I have seen people do one set then talk to people for 15 minutes or set on their phone for a while, I have waited for the machine for 30 minutes sometimes. one time I finished my whole training for the day and one the guys still setting on that machine. it is ridiculous sometimes

If you could rate this place as negative I would. it is by far the worse gym ever! not to mention when you try to cancel your membership they make it impossible to do. I sent an email back in March asking to the membership to be canceled and them had to wait on the phone for over an hour today because they had still not canceled the membership. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS GYM!!

I have had great experiences at this gym overall. Great new equipment, nice environment, they keep it clean, and most of the staff is very friendly. I would give this a 5-star rating if it wasn’t for some difficulties we have had with one of the staff members named Brie. She was rude, does not listen, and was difficult to deal with in the interactions we had. Aside from that, the gym is great for the price and I’ve tried multiple locations, they are all good as well.

This gym is bright, big, inviting, and very very clean. There are a lot of machines and free weights!! Such a variety. Not to mention, a very free kids club! The staff and trainers are friendly and personable. I love working out there during non-peak times!

Stopped by to visit and the staff was super awesome and friendly in showing me around the gym! Excited to get back into good health and physically fit. Jasmine was super sweet in introducing me to some of the trainers too! She’s great!

The value for the price is great. The only thing that they can improve on is their hours. Can’t ask for much more for $10 a month.

Came in here and the staff refused me entry because I have a disability. Found another gym that is much better who accommodated without issue and their annual fees are cheaper, too.

Note of advice: stay away from this gym if you are taking this pandemic seriously. They are NOT serious about enforcing the mask policy whatsoever at this gym. You constantly see folks wearing the masks below their chin. My observations tell me that management is too chicken to enforce the rules. Grow a pair and do your job!

If you don’t plan on staying do not sign up I canceled my membership months ago due to health issues and there still taking my money. They take multiple random payments every month. I have called multiple times to dispute the issue and I was told I would receive a refund but nope just another bill the following month. It’s frustrating. Such a beautiful gym but so unprofessional as far as billing goes.

Cancel my membership 8/17/20 charged me $49.80 Told me I will not be charged again. Today I was charged $21.65 called customer service. spent 2 hours 9 mins went from caller 100 to caller 6 at 6:15 p.m. they said it was outside their business hours hung up the call. Called the gym itself for an explanation. I was rushed off the phone, cut me off when I was talking to tell me theyll leave a note for the manager. Nice gym but for customer service would not recommend this gym.

Great facility that has been wonderfully renovated from the old Blast/Ballies-President and First Lady clubs. The group fitness room is very large and first class. Even during busy evenings I’ve had little problem getting in what ever workouts I need. Come check this place out, you won’t be disappointed!

I love working out here, no theyre not 24 hours sadly but they listen to the surveys they send out in emails, theres something for everyone there. They have a kids daycare center which makes it even better, in the womens only section they have a movie room where you can work out and watch good movies(my favorite part).

My go-to gym. A staff that yearns to be helpful and gets you energized to have a great workout. The facilities at this location are always clean and in good working order. The dry sauna and shower area are always good to go without any dirtiness to see. A great place to get in your workout!

This is the main location I go to! Even though it’s not 24 hours, it’s the cleanest fitness connection I’ve worked out at since I’ve had my membership in 2016. Also, super friendly and awesome staff!! They have a kids room “daycare”, a women and a men’s sauna, a basketball court, an upstairs workout area that also has a punching bag with a great section for abs, and they have a track to run on upstairs. I literally love this place!!! 10/10

They never sent me an email saying that they were reopening after quarantine. I was on hold for 1 hour and 20 minutes before I got to talk to customer service just for them to charge me the monthly fee as well as the annual fee. Very happy I cancelled my membership.

I love it here! Good new equipment, nice layout all over. Its huge and so much space. Nice basketball court. The kids area is awesome when I bring them. This is the best gym on this side of town hands down.

This is my favorite gym! Not only is it close to my house but it also has the most equipment so when its peak hours youre not waiting 30 minutes for someone to get off a machine or use a dumbbell/curl bar. Staff is always friendly and my children LOVE the kids club especially Ms. Melissa! And they have a BASKETBALL COURT for kids! My youngest loves it

I used to go to Blast Fitness that was here, followed them to the new location, and when it was suddenly shut down I returned to the new Fitness Connection at this location.To keep things short, this gym is actually pretty good, not perfect, but good.The good:The place is clean, its pretty affordable, the employees are pretty nice, etc...The bad:The equipment. The main reason you would ever even go to a gym. The equipment here seems to cater more to machines than free weights. The free weights area is relatively sparse. There are not many power racks and no 35lb plates. The cable machines are ALWAYS busy, and its difficult to find an empty station to use. (Note: I always go at 5:00am or an hour before closing and its still busy.) There are also no cable machines with adjustable arms which severely limits the kinds of exercises you can do.The takeaway:I would like to see more power racks, 35lb plates, more cable machines, and, obviously, open 24 hours...

The staff is not professional, I spoke to the manager Vanessa and I wish I did not speak to her. Rude ( passive aggressive) and condescending of course I did not get to her level. The gym itself is nice but it doesnt do you any good if the staff is not properly trained.

My husband and I work out here all the time. Its at a great location. I love that it has an indoor track and a separate room for women. I also like that the restrooms are far away from the hand dryers. Thats always been a preference of mine when it comes to public restrooms. Since we have 3 children, its nice to know that we can take them all to the kids xlub FOR FREE. The security check for the kids club is on point: only one family allowed in at a time, the same parent or guardian that signs them in as to be the same person to sign them out, and ID is extremely important. A couple of cons: I wish this gym had a pool and the room where the classes are would stay opened. Other than that, this gym is amazing.

I LOVE this Fitness connection location. The staff is energetic and friendly as soon as you hit the door and when you leave. The facility is is clean and they have different equipment. I’m only giving 4 stars because I keep hearing they are going 24 hrs but it hasn’t happened yet! Once it goes 24 hrs... 5 stars!!!Update: it’s been 4 months and still isn’t 24 hrs!

I took a tour today and signed up. The gym is clean and has positive vibes. Great indoor track and showers. I also appreciate that the gentlemen giving me the tour did not pressure me to join. He allowed me to make the choice on my own without discomfort. The woman at the front desk was super nice and the theaters in cardio room are fantastic!

I’m not even a member yet but I now see that the staff is very unprofessional. Someone by the name of Gahn text me back after I inquired and seen an ad online for the $10 down $10 a month. He basically called me a liar, after proceeded to tell me that I did not see that just yesterday or the day before when I did my guest pass to check out the gym after seeing that ad. If getting customers in the gym isn’t the goal I’m not really sure what it is that they’re trying to achieve. I actually thought this gym was a little better, but I’d rather stick with planet fitness for great customer service and less gym equipment!

Love the atmosphere, plenty of equipment and large variety. I definitely love the fact they have a basketball court. Kid friendly and very affordable memberships. I enjoy coming here for a complete workout. I would definitely recommend this place to all.

This is a really nice step up from our previous gym! Eric gave us the grand tour and got us signed up right away. He also goes out of his way to make you feel welcomed and makes sure to say hi when he sees you!

I would like others to be made aware of the billing practices and lack of transparency at Fitness Connection. I have been a member of their gym for a year now. When I signed on, I was told it would be a year-long membership. I have not been able to go to the gym in months due to a combination of COVID closures and just taking precautions, and currently the COVID situation in Houston is so dire that we will most likely be headed toward another shutdown. During this time, I’ve continued to pay my membership fees, which are auto-drafted from my bank account. I paid an annual fee back when I signed up and I’ve continued to pay a monthly due.Today, I saw that Fitness Connection withdrew $50 from my bank account supposedly for a new annual fee. They gave no notice this would be happening. I had no intention of signing up for another year for a service I may not be able to even use. I called immediately to try to get a refund and cancel my membership. I was told by the local gym that I needed to call customer service to handle this matter.When I did, I was placed on hold for almost 2 full hours (and have screenshots to prove it). They refused up and down to return the fee. They told me it was just to upkeep their equipment, it wasn’t a fee — basically they painted it as a charitable “donation” even though this is obviously a for-profit business. I said I wanted to cancel repeatedly, and that I would like the $50 annual fee returned because I did not sign up for another year. When I asked how to cancel, this woman either hung up on me or we got disconnected. In any case, I don’t have another two hours to wait on hold for another representative, especially to be told the same thing: that basically they will not refund the money for ANY reason. At all.Fitness Connection has made it so difficult to cancel or resolve a dispute that it’s basically impossible. And their lack of transparency, coupled with false claims that you can back out at any time, smacks of a scam. They’re fully aware of how smarmy this behavior is, which is why I imagine they have hold times of 2+ hours — because everyone is probably freaking out at randomly being charged $50 without their consent.Edit a year later: Still tempted to try this gym out again because the facilities are so nice, and it’s such a convenient location, near both my home and office. I’m also hoping the kids’ club is operational again since we’re easing out of Covid restrictions. But since I left this review (which was only like 1 of 5 when I initially left it), I see that Fitness Connection hasn’t gotten any less shady about their billing practices after receiving multiple complaints of the same nature. If this changes I would be very interested in rejoining, but since it seems Corporate still doesn’t give a single f*ck about getting it together with customer service, I guess I’ll find another facility.
